Ep 39: The Duncan House, Duncans Mills, CA
Brendon and I head up to Duncans Mills on the Russian River to search the yard of a house built in 1880. We find very hard, dry and rocky dirt with a few treasures hidden below the surface including a 200 year old coin and 2 coins that are even older! Expect the unexpected!
The Chinese have a long and storied history here in Northern California. From helping to build the Transcontinental Railroad and the Golden Gate Bridge to working in the mines throughout California and the lumber camps of the Redwood Empire, they helped build Calfornia! And at the Duncan House, we find evidence of their presence in this old lumber company town.

Episode 37 : Ghost Town Hunting!
The Bleepers venture out to the site of a ghost town, or at least part of what once was the town of Purissima, California. No buildings remain today but the site gives up a few great finds, including a 19th Century coin and a pocket watch.

Eureka!
Found an unclaimed gold wedding ring on the beach following the first atmospheric river of 2023!
Cool toy gun!
While detecting the site of an old orphanage that had long since been demolished I found this cool little toy gun. Probably circa 1940s.

Ring Find! (Again)
Yet another call and another happy customer. This ring call was different for me. The owner of the ring could not meet me there but gave me excellent directions to the location where they believed they lost it. I recovered the ring after about 30 minutes of grid walking. The ring bears the 5 Olympic rings as the owner was the first female Olympian to represent Puerto Rico in rowing in the Tokyo Olympic Games. She lost it, I believe, when her boyfriend proposed to her on the beach!

Ring Find!
I was called by a woman who was hysterically crying because she lost her ring in the sand and couldn't find it. I was nearly sunset and I was clear on the opposite side of the city, but I raced out there and found it for her! A happy customer!
GOLD FOUND! Episode 36
Detectorists have been out on the beaches along the California coast in absolute hoards since we have had these devastating series of storms from what was called an "Atmospheric River" that came in from the Pacific Ocean in late December and in to January.
I was lucky enough to get out and be able claim one piece of gold, which pales in comparison to some detectorists further down the coast who have found a ring or two every time they have been out in the past 5 weeks!
Inspired by them but also eager to see some of the coastal destruction firsthand I have been out to several beaches between Half Moon Bay and San Francisco over the recent weeks. I am so stoked to have found this ring, left behind by these storms and I was so happy to be out, detecting, in the sun after so long stuck inside!

EP 35 : Private Permission in Half Moon Bay!
Brendon and I head down to Half Moon Bay where a coworker of mine lives in an old farmhouse surrounded by open land very close to the beach. It's a dreamy and serene setting. See what we find and why we will definitely be back there soon!

Episode 34 : Sonoma Coast Mystery Site
I was given coordinates to a site that another detectorist found a few years ago. He's since moved out of state so he passed it on to me! I was out camping with my little family and got to take a day out detecting while they hung out at camp.
The site is a mystery wrapped in more mystery and I found a bucket lister!

I thought I had a 1936 quarter.....but alas, no.
Totally fooled by this beat up quarter. Thought it was older....a lot older. Can you hear the disappointment in my voice?

Episode 32 | Buena Vista Park, San Francisco, CA
The summer has been crazy! I had Covid to start my summer. It kicked my butt, even with the vax and boost. Then I went away on a cruise with my in-laws to Alaska (that was actually pretty awesome but my camera SD card corrupted :-( ) and now I have a cold again with residual lung issues from Covid! weeeee!
But I managed to go out last Sunday to Buena Vista Park on the Haight Street side of the hill and find some coins. All clad except for a 1978 penny but at least I was out!
I have some exciting things lined up including a plot of land that was a vineyard for the first half of the 20th Century in Martinez with fellow Bleeper Brendon and a lead on a small piece of property in Jenner from a fellow detectorist that recently moved out of state. I'll be camping up near Jenner next month and hope to his this location at that time. It's a suspected former home or cabin site not too far from Fort Ross, maybe we'll find a connection?!

Ep 31 : Pescadero Private Permission
Come along with me as I check out my new private permission for the first time. Located on the hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Pigeon Point Lighthouse this 20-acre property was once home to California's largest private pot farm and subsequent bust in the 1990s.
The finds might not be old but maybe they will be relatable to this interesting history! Subscribe now for future updates on this private permission!

Ep 29: How did this get there?
The BABs team took a trip down the coast to Half Moon Bay where we hiked a mile in to find a 160+ year old bank barn in a State Park that used to be a ranch. We found a lot of relics pertaining to the barn and the properties days as a ranch but I also found a foreign coin! Surprise, surprise! Me and my SP 24 coil seem to be foreign coin magnets. I'd love to know how it go there even though it's not that old.

Ep 28 : A Day of Digging Crap with a Surprise Ending
I hit the old orphanage hill again and didn't find much other than a bracelet that isn't that old nor was it made of any thing valuable. Then, just as the day was ending, I got a frantic text from someone who lost their wedding ring on the beach. So I wrapped up, walked home as quickly as I could and drove all the way across town to help this total stranger find her ring.

Ep 27: Toy Cap Gun found on "Orphanage Hill", San Francisco, CA
In this episode I venture up to an undeveloped hill that lies between a small playground and a bunch of houses that once had TWO orphanages built on it. The larger of the two orphanages was further up the hill and now has many homes built upon it's former location. The smaller of the two orphanages was located on the northwestern portion of the hill which is currently open space. And it was in this area that I found a toy cap gun that could have once belonged to one of the children living at the orphanage.

Ep 26 : The Panhandle 2022 - COINS! COINS! COINS!
Me and a friend hit just a small part of The Panhandle in San Francisco and are overwhelmed with the number of signals and coins we find!
I never thought I would walk away from a sure-thing signal like a 68 on my Simplex, but I did, twice! I got sick of digging pennies!
I also found 5 foreign coins! Check it out!

Ep 25 : Fort Bragg | Nokta Makro Simplex SP24
In this episode I hit up an open space in Fort Bragg, CA that is privately owned by a company in Reno, NV. It is lightly used by dog walkers, hikers, walkers and other recreationalists without issue. It is also home to the annual Paul Bunyan Days lumberjack contest and I share some footage I took in 2018 at the contest.
I didn't find much but there is so much more space to hit up so I will be back!
