MARVEL'S KEVIN FEIGIE ADMITS There Are NO STANDARNDS For Marvel Movies And TV Shows?!?!
In a new podcast episode, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige opened up about Marvel Studios' secrets. Feige explains Marvel projects must meet only 2 standards. 1) they have to put the logo on the project (he really actually says this) 2) the seed of the idea for the project has to have originated in the comics, somewhere in their 80 year history.

Kevin Feige Reveals the 'Secret' to Marvel's Formula
https://thedirect.com/article/kevin-feige-marvel-formula
In a new podcast episode, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige opened up about Marvel Studios' secrets.
The MCU is one of the most successful franchises in movie history.
Not only does it have a massive and vocal fanbase, but also its projects and stars have received prestigious honors and awards.
Love it or hate it, everyone can acknowledge that the MCU must be doing something right. Feige shared his perspective on this in a new interview.
What Makes the MCU Work?
Kevin Feige, Marvel, Avengers
Marvel
In an interview on The Movie Business Podcast, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige spoke to host Jason E. Squire about the secrets to the MCU's success.
He said that while "storylines and spoilers" are kept secretive, "there are no secrets" and there "isn't any" secret "formula" that Marvel follows to ensure success in its projects:
Jaseon E. Squire: "What are the secrets to Marvel Studios?"
Kevin Feige: "The honest truth, which is not as exciting, but you get the inside scoop on this podcast and I'll give it to you. There are no secrets. There's secrets in terms of the storylines, and spoilers, and things like that, but if there was a formula, because people have been asking up for a very long time, 'What's the formula?' and the truth is there isn't any."
Feige explained that "one of the many, many positive" parts of Marvel being a part of the Walt Disney Company is the ability that position gives Marvel creatives to connect with those in other Disney-owned properties and subdivisions:
"A number of years ago, when we became part of the Walt Disney company, one of the many, many positive things that happened then is we got access to all the brilliant people at the other studios within Walt Disney Live-Action, and Pixar, and soon after Lucasfilm, so we can have all these inside conversations with people."
Through those conversations, Feige learned that a creative process wherein a project is "terrible" at first, then is "shaped, and worked, and reworked," is a shared experience.
"And I found it very therapeutic when the folks at Pixar, again this was probably a decade ago, were sharing with us how hard they have to work on each project and how at a certain point everything that they're working on is... terrible. And is not very good. And needs to be shaped, and worked, and reworked. And I felt such a weight lifted off my shoulders because that is what it was like for us, and still is like for us at Marvel Studios."
This "weight lifted" for Feige revealed to him that the work needed to make Marvel projects good enough that it "ends up standing the test of time" is work that all creatives end up putting into any project and that projects don't "come out of [people's] brains perfectly formed:"
"It takes a tremendous amount of work and effort to make any movie or project, much less one that ends up standing the test of time, which is always what we strive for at Marvel Studios. And for some reason I just thought, well all these other successful places and people, it must just come out of their brains perfectly formed and it is only us at Marvel Studios that has to grind, and work, and rework, and rewrite, and recut, and reshoot over and over again to make something work. And it turned out, no, that is not the case."
He concluded that while Marvel does not have any individual secrets to its own, specific success, there is one secret "shared across successful organizations, and storytellers, and filmmakers:" that being "a tremendous amount of hard work:"
"The secret that is shared across successful organizations, and storytellers, and filmmakers is just a tremendous amount of hard work. And the only thing that can power that hard work is passion. And thankfully that's what we have at Marvel Studios in spades. I always say if we weren't here making the movies we'd be the first ones buying advanced tickets, or I used to say waiting in line around the block to go see them."

DISNEY CEO BOB IGER CONTROLLED BY CHINA? China Only Releases Disney Movies For Bob Iger? Why?
A new report in the HOLLYWOOD REPORTER claims that The Walt Disney Company and Marvel Studios will begin educating their actors and executives in order to placate communist China to ensure the release of future films in the country. Why exactly is Bob Iger so close to the government of China? What is he promising them?

Report: The Walt Disney Company And Marvel Studios To Educate Actors In Order To Placate Communist China
https://boundingintocomics.com/2023/01/18/report-the-walt-disney-company-and-marvel-studios-to-educate-actors-in-order-to-placate-communist-china/
This report comes after The Walt Disney Company’s official Chinese social media accounts announced that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Anti-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania secured theatrical releases in China.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Patrick Brzeski reported on January 17th, “Marvel shared the surprise news Tuesday over its official Chinese social media accounts. The two titles will be the very first movies of Marvel’s Phase 4 to screen in China, as the last approved theatrical releases from the studio were Spider-Man: Far From Home and Avengers: Endgame, way back in early/mid-2019.”

YouTuber Yellowflash commented on this report from The Hollywood Reporter indicating Disney and Marvel stars will be educated to not offend communist China saying, “What a loser move this is.”
He continued, “It’s always Disney that does this s**t. Disney’s always willing to step back. This is all about making as much money as possible. And,, you know, I would rather these companies not to do this and not bend the knee to this country because they don’t really like us.”
RELATED: Appearance Of Anti-Communist Newspaper The Epoch Times In Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Sparks Outrage In China
“And making our movies less patriotic or changing things to make China happy just seems kind of backwards to me. It seems kind of backwards,” he asserted. “And other companies are moving forward saying, ‘We don’t really care that much.’ And then you’ve got Disney just salivating at the fact of censoring their own s**t so they could get it out in that country.”
“It seems kind of wrong, but Disney’s been morally bankrupt for a long time anyways. So I’m not really surprised,” he added.

Yellowflash would also suggest that the actors will act similar to John Cena did when he groveled to the Chinese and apologized to them when he referred to Taiwan as a country during a promotional event for Fast & Furious 9.
While doing an interview on the Taiwanese broadcasting network TVBS to promote the film, Cena stated that Taiwan would be “the first country to watch the film.”
He would later issue an apology in Mandarin on Weibo for claiming Taiwan was a country.

Cena’s apology was shared to Twitter by Joe Xu.
A translation of Cena’s apology was done by South China Morning Post. He stated, “Hi China, I’m John Cena. I’m in the middle of Fast & Furious 9 promotions. I’m doing a lot of interviews. I made a mistake in one of my interviews.”
Cena continued, “Everyone was asking me if I could use Chinese – [movie] staff gave me a lot of information, so there was a lot of interviews and information.”
“I made one mistake. I have to say something very, very, very important now. I love and respect China and Chinese people. I’m very, very sorry about my mistake,” said Cena.
He continued profusely apologizing, “I apologize, I apologize, I’m very sorry. You must understand that I really love, really respect China and the Chinese people. My apologies. See you.”

Latest ‘Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny’ Rumor Claims Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Role Being Significantly Reduced
https://boundingintocomics.com/2023/01/18/latest-indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny-rumor-claims-phoebe-waller-bridges-role-being-significantly-reduced/
This latest rumor comes from YouTuber Overlord DVD who states, “It seems everything is shifting on Indy 5 and you’re going to laugh your a** off when you hear this folks because it not only looks like [Phoebe Waller-Bridge] has lost her new hat, it looks like [Phoebe Waller-Bridge] is being cut out of the movie as much as possible.”
RELATED: ‘Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny’ Director James Mangold Calls Leakers “Trolling A-Holes,” Claims Rumors Indiana Jones Will Be Replaced Are Not True
The YouTuber continued, “From what I’ve heard, and again I’m stressing that this is just a rumor. This is a highly fluid situation as you might imagine. Disney’s come to realize that Phoebe Waller-Bridge is problematic in the park. Lines that were meant to be funny and endearing in a sassy Princess Leia kind of way are delivered with Fleabag’s patented snarkiness. She’s abrasive. She’s insulting to Indy and she just weighs down the movie.”
He later states, “But the bottom line is, folks, in addition to a new ending they are radically re-edting the film, sources say, to introduce a new element in the story. Phoebe Waller-Bridge gets kidnapped and vanishes for a large part of the film. And she has to be saved by Indy.”
(L-R): Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) and Helena (Phoebe Waller-Bridge) in Lucasfilm’s INDIANA JONES AND THE DIAL OF DESTINY. ©2022 Lucasfilm Ltd. & TM. All Rights Reserved.
Overlord DVD then details, “I don’t know if they previously had her get kidnapped and they’re just moving that part to earlier in the film or if they’re trying to do a quick reshoot to cover this. I don’t have any more information on that. Though I hope to have more to confirm or deny this rumor in the coming weeks.”
“But I have been told aside from this that they’re cutting as much of Phoebe’s stuff as they can to minimize her impact on the film and lighten the movie up,” he reiterated.

RELATED: ‘Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny’ Trailer Makes A Mockery Of Title Hero, Seems To Forget Events Of ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ And ‘The Last Crusade’
As he concluded his video, Overlord DVD asserted, “This is not going to save the movie, folks, but it is interesting that it appears at this point, I cautiously say, that [Kathleen Kennedy] is not going to get her way.”
He added, “Indy is not going to be replaced at the end of the movie by Phoebe Waller-Bridge although his death is still in question.”
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) in Lucasfilm’s IJ5. ©2022 Lucasfilm Ltd. & TM. All Rights Reserved.
These alleged changes to Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s role in the film reportedly come after Disney CEO Bob Iger screened it.
Overlord DVD explained at the beginning of his video that one of his Hollywood spies informed him, “As you know Bob Iger has returned to the scene of the crime to head up Disney. Well, he’s been putting out fires. Allegedly over the holidays he finally got to sit down and watch Indy 5 according to someone in the know. Bob allegedly watched the entire thing and never said a word.”
He continued, “After the movie was done he allegedly called Kathleen Kennedy and asked her was she really responsible for what he witnessed. Allegedly, after a few moments, Iger said to Kennedy, ‘Well, I’ll give you two choices: either you fix this or you can foot the bill. Because I won’t allow this to shown.”
Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) in Lucasfilm’s IJ5. ©2022 Lucasfilm Ltd. & TM. All Rights Reserved.
RELATED: John Williams Confirms Lucasfilm Is Shooting Multiple Endings For ‘Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny’
This rumor comes in the wake of composer John Williams claiming Lucasfilm planned to reshoot a new ending in December.
He told an audience at a concert in Italy, “Here are three pieces from Indiana Jones 5. I felt we would be finished with Indiana Jones after four. You know Harrison Ford. You all know who Harrison Ford is. And Harrison is 78 years old, but he’s much younger than am. Well, I thought, ‘Aw if he can do five of them, I have to try to do the final five also.”
He then states, “So, we have just about completed the film. We have maybe another ending to shoot and to record. Maybe in a couple weeks.”

WTF?!?! WOKE VELMA GETS SEASON 2 RENEWAL! Even Though Fans Hate It??

New Series Getting A Second Season Despite Fans Absolutely Hating It
https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/velma-getting-a-second-season.htm
VELMA SEASON 2
https://ui.eidr.org/search/results/8a0710b4bf3893422a21fff526c9e224
Right now, it’s fair to say that the Mindy Kaling Velma show on HBO Max has quickly become one of the most despised shows ever made. Over on Rottentomatoes, the show has a low 55% critical score and an absolutely abysmal seven percent score from audiences. Despite this intense backlash, the Entertainment Identifier Registry shows that episodes for a second season of the controversial show are already in development.
Part of what makes the show divisive is that it doesn’t seem to understand its audience. Velma is a Mindy Kaling passion project, and considering that the show changed the ethnicity of three of the four familiar Scooby-Doo characters, the show seemed destined to garner a harsh reaction from rightwing audiences for being too “woke.” However, the show has also angered more progressive audiences for some of its bizarre humor, including when the titular Velma (voiced by Kaling herself) says that she is known to “spit truth without a filter, like every comedian before #MeToo.”
That leads to perhaps the most common criticism of Velma: that, all things considered, this should have just been an original show instead of one using the familiar Scooby-Doo characters. After all, the show mostly focuses on the title character rather than the full ensemble cast, and it’s set when the characters are all in high school. Velma is the only one really focused on solving mysteries, Shaggy is now a character named Norville, Daphne is a drug dealer and the talking dog is nowhere to be seen, and it all adds up to this show not feeling much like the original property at all.
To make matters worse, when the show does try to lean into the Scooby-Doo universe, it does so in ham-handed ways such as making the lesbian romance between Velma and Daphne explicit (something that was already a tired joke when portrayed in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back over two decades ago). On top of that, many have compared the goal of this show (being a smart adult parody of old children’s cartoons) to The Venture Bros, but Velma really suffers by comparison. Not only is the writing anywhere close to the quality that we got from Team Venture, but that show already featured a whip-smart parody episode in which the Scooby Gang were actually famous serial killers (Fred was Ted Bundy, Shaggy was the Son of Sam, and so on).
In short, Velma is a hot mess of a show that has angered audiences in every corner of the political spectrum while also driving away fans of the original property.

WOKE DISNEY ATTTACKED BY NELSON PELTZ (AND IKE PERMUTTER?) Bob Iger Can't Win, It's Too Late!
Nelson Peltz, billionaire turnaround specialist is demanding a seat on Disney's board of directors and has done this kind of aggressive move 30 times before with other major public companies. Even if he does not get on the board, Peltz always continues pressuring companies and does not easily give up. Peltz is also close with Ike Perlmutter who sold Marvel to Disney and has been unhappy with the woke take on his Marvel universe franchises for years but until now has not been able to do much about it. Is Ike Permutter working behind the scenes to assist Peltz? It looks like he is.

MARVEL RIPS OFF THEIR VFX STUDIOS WITH A 20 PERCENT PAYCUT?!?! Disney Completely Unfair To Artists!

While superhero movies are Marvel Studios' bread and butter, the wages for the VFX artists who work on them are anything but super as a new report suggests the company's traditional compensation is 20 percent below the industry standard.
According to Vulture, Marvel Studios is known among the VFX industry for paying artists 20% less than other companies. One unnamed artist estimates they are completing four times the amount of work they are being compensated for. "The minute I deliver [movie name redacted]," said the artist, "I'm never coming back."
RELATED:
Why Marvel's VFX Artists Deserve More Respect
The VFX industry is known for being overworked and understaffed, and many consider Marvel a key contributor to the problem. The VFX branch of IATSE (the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees) says the superhero juggernaut regularly employs one artist to do a job for which other studios would hire three. This is not the first time Marvel has come under fire for its treatment of VFX artists.
Marvel's VFX Problem
In July 2022, Dhruv Govil, a VFX artist who worked on Marvel''s Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man: Homecoming, expressed his extreme displeasure with the company. "Working on Marvel shows is what pushed me to leave the VFX industry," he tweeted at the time. "They're a horrible client, and I've seen way too many colleagues break down after being overworked, while Marvel tightens the purse strings."
In response to the increasing backlash, Marvel is considering creating its own VFX house. The studio has not commented on the status of this decision, nor has it publicly addressed the complaints lodged against it thus far. However, in July 2022, director Taika Waititi and star Tessa Thompson seemingly mocked the quality of Thor: Love and Thunder's visual effects, drawing more criticism from the online fan community.

She-Hulk Star, Bosses Address Marvel's Grueling VFX Conditions, Voice Pro-Union Stance
While many VFX artists have cited their issues with Marvel, the studio is by no means the only one to garner negative word of mouth around the industry. Logan Preshaw, a concept artist on Avatar: The Way of Water, recently criticized Wētā Workshop, one of the many VFX houses behind the film, citing low pay and direspectful treatment. "I worked on Avatar 2. I'm proud of that. I am not proud of how little Weta Workshop pays its artists," he Tweeted in December 2022.
"As a concept artist I was paid the current minimum wage. A pay cut of $10/h from when I was a lead on animated cartoon shows," Preshaw elaborated. "When I asked for more pay ~8 months in, quoting my previous job's pay and experience, it was raised to $23. 3 months later I left." Preshaw also clarified that his issues lie solely with Wētā Workshop and not James Cameron, 20th Century Studios or the film's overall production.

Mindy Kaling’s ‘Velma’ Vaporized On Rotten Tomatoes By Fans and Critics
https://cosmicbook.news/mindy-kaling-velma-vaporized-rotten-tomatoes
The new take on Scooby-Doo and Velma starring Mindy Kaling as the titular character is now out on HBO Max, and as expected (saying that a lot lately), it’s getting vaporized by fans on Rotten Tomatoes.
And not only are the fans really not liking what they are seeing but the critics are also not too favorable of the show that reimagines Velma as an East Asian character.
Presently, Velma has a 50% Rotten Tomatoes Score from the critics and a 12% Audience Score. Check out the reactions below.
The show also hasn’t come without controversy as previously Mindy Kaling blasted fans for their response to changing the character.
“Hopefully, you noticed my Velma is South Asian,” she told the crowd in New York City when the first look was unveiled. “If people freak out about that, I don’t care.”
Mindy Kaling also appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers in July.
“When it was announced that I was going to do the voice of Velma, people were very supportive and happy on Twitter. And so I felt great,” she explained. “Then it was announced a month ago that the Velma character would be reimagined as South Asian. And people were not happy. There was a lot of, like, ‘So not Velma!’ Those kind of tweets. ‘Not the classic Velma that I’m always thinking about.’”
Kaling continued, “First of all, I didn’t know that she elicited such strong reactions in either direction. I just couldn’t understand how people couldn’t imagine a really smart, nerdy girl with terrible eyesight who loved to solve mysteries could not be Indian. There are Indian nerds. It shouldn’t be a surprise to people, but people are like, ‘No, no, no.’ But it made me think, ‘OK, we’ve got to be really careful with this character,’ which we will be because we love her.”
Mindy Kaling Velma
What do the Velma reviews on Rotten Tomatoes say?
What do the critics think?
Regarding Rotten Tomatoes, check out what the negative reviews from the critics:
“Sporadically witty but ultimately rather tedious, the HBO Max comedy leverages more than a half-century of name equity to yield an animated prequel that’s definitely not for kids, meddling or otherwise.” – CNN
“It’s been done before, and much better, using unique takes on the gang that maintained their essence, so Velma is never as groundbreaking as it seems to think it is. More than that, these characters are just really unpleasant to spend time with.” -Variety
“All the pieces of a great Scooby spin-off are here, so why does this not come together? The answer: a combination of uneven humor, too little mystery, and a core misunderstanding of Velma herself.” – Mashable
“A hodgepodge of ideas that never connect, especially in its humor. The comedy lands when it veers into absurdism with visual gags and everything Howerton’s Fred says. What falls flat is the frustrating meta approach it takes.” – Paste Magazine
“Too much meta humor, not enough heart.” – THR
“While Velma certainly suffers in comparison to HBO Max’s Harley Quinn, the series’ problems are entirely its own, perhaps the biggest one being a failure of tone and balance, as there’s too much jammed into this series and no clear focus.” – Consequence
Mindy Kaling Velma HBO
What do the fans think of Velma?
Here are some reactions from fans who aren’t too happy with the series:
– This show is an absolutely terrible idea. Instead of creating OC, the writers decided that they would remove the main character from a universe and then re-skin all of the remaining characters. They even changed the personalities. It’s a sad attempt at appealing to wider demographics while not actually putting in the effort or being creative. The humor is meta and annoying; nothing about it is actually funny. Overall, this show is a disgrace to a franchise that is attempting to ride to coattails of in a strangely insulting way.
– I just watched the first two episodes and unfortunately that is time all never get back. I don’t even really want to recount what I’ve watched as that would take more effort than what was clearly put into the show by the writers. Save yourself the morbid curiosity and skip this one.

DISNEY WAR! NELSON PELTZ VS. BOB IGER, The Full 35 Page Nelson Peltz Plan To Fix Disney Analyzed!
Bob Iger has been trying to hide billions in losses from the $71 billion Fox acquisition (overpaid by tens of billions) and keep outsiders from interfering with the terrible management of the Disney+ streaming service and of course the massive diversity, equity and inclusion makeover of all their classic brands. Nelson Peltz has laid out a basic 35 page plan to refocus Disney on making money for it's shareholders again and rebuilding it's intellectual property 'flywheel' as he calls it (making great content that get people excited about their properties again). It should also be noted Peltz is very close with Ike Perlmutter the Israeli-American billionaire businessman and financier who lost control of the Marvel brand when he sold it to Disney and they stopped taking his feedback on those properties. This was the start of the diversity/equity focus on Marvel. Is Perlmutter back for revenge?

Disney is facing a proxy fight as Nelson Peltz’s activist firm Trian Fund Management pushes for a seat on its board.
Peltz spoke Thursday on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street,” making his case for the fight his firm has picked with Disney. He raised issues with Disney’s $71 billion acquisition of Fox in 2019 and how the company’s shareholder value has eroded in recent years.

“Fox hurt this company. Fox took the dividend away. Fox turned what was once a pristine balance sheet into a mess,” Peltz said.
On Thursday, the activist firm filed a preliminary proxy statement looking to put Peltz on Disney’s board.
To preempt what could be a messy proxy battle and opposing Trian, Disney on Wednesday announced that Mark Parker, the executive chairman of Nike
, would become the new chairman of the board. Disney’s board will now have 11 members.
The activist firm said it owns about 9.4 million shares valued at approximately $900 million, which it first accumulated a few months ago. Trian said Wednesday it believes Disney “lost its way resulting in a rapid deterioration in its financial performance.”
Peltz also said he wants to be on the board so he can get access to internal numbers and tell other members if they’re missing out on opportunities.
“I don’t need to overwhelm them,” Peltz told CNBC. “I don’t need more than one person on the board.”
Shares of Disney closed up more than 3% on Thursday.

Trian called out what it viewed as poor corporate governance on Disney’s part, including failed succession planning, “over-the-top” compensation practices and Disney’s lack of engagement with Trian in recent months.
In public filings Thursday, Trian listed its numerous meetings with Disney and its board members, beginning with then-CEO Bob Chapek, Peltz and their wives over lunch in July. Meetings and correspondence between Trian and Disney ramped up in frequency in November, according to the filing.
Peltz on Thursday said he only had a meeting with Disney’s board that spanned about 45 minutes but he never heard a response from them. A Disney representative didn’t immediately respond to comment.
Peltz also noted that Disney was open to making him a board observer, allowing him to sit in on meetings and give advice on operations but without voting privileges.
“I just need to speak reasonably to these people and explain to them where they went wrong or what opportunities they’re missing,” Peltz said Thursday, noting other companies where he’s sat on the board.
People close to Disney told CNBC’s David Faber they disputed Peltz’s version, saying instead the company offered him the opportunity to enter into an information-sharing pact under a nondisclosure agreement, along with opportunities to meet with management and the board each quarter. Disney did not offer him the ability to sit in on board meetings, the people added.
In November, Bob Iger made a surprising return to Disney’s helm, ousting Chapek — whom Iger chose as his successor — following a poor earnings report. Trian has said it doesn’t want to replace Iger, but rather work with him to ensure a successful CEO transition within the next two years.
Parker will take over as chairman from Susan Arnold and will be tasked to lead succession planning, according to Disney’s announcement Wednesday.
In Thursday’s filing, Trian also called out Disney’s streaming strategy, saying it is “struggling with profitability, despite reaching similar revenues as Netflix and having a significant IP advantage.” The firm also criticized what it believes is Disney’s lack of cost discipline and overearning at its theme parks business to subsidize streaming losses.
Disney’s stock had a rough 2022, coming out of the early days of the pandemic, when theme parks and movie theaters were shut down. However, as subscriber growth for streaming slowed and investors raised questions about profitability, while cord cutting ramped up, most media stocks fell last year.

After a myriad of controversies, more new details have come to light about Ezra Miller's criminal cases ahead of The Flash's premiere later this year.
Miller has had a tough stretch in the past months. In March 2022, the actor was arrested multiple times in Hawaii for disorderly conduct and harassment.
The controversy didn't stop there, as Miller was later charged with a count of felony burglary in Stamford, Vermont, in August 2022.
Despite Miller already apologizing for the string of controversies, their future as the Scarlet Speedster is still unknown, particularly with the changes being made to the DC Universe (DCU).
Now, further developments have been made about Miller's latest issues.
Ezra Miller Reaches Plea Deal
Ezra Miller, Flash
DC
As per a report from VT Digger, Ezra Miller is set for a change of plea hearing this Friday, January 13, in Bennington County Superior criminal court.
In October 2022, The Flash and Justice League actor was reported to be facing up to 26 years behind bars and over $2,000 in fines if they're found guilty of felony burglary charges.
The star pleaded not guilty to burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and petty larceny for allegedly breaking into a nearby home and stealing three bottles of liquor.
However, the new report filed ahead of the hearing revealed that Miller would plead guilty to a single charge of unlawful trespass.
Miller told police that they were at home cooking with their mother and grabbed ingredients from the house of a close childhood friend. The actor also grabbed another bottle of wine.
Miller said that the homeowner should have known what was going on because their mother asked the owner for permission ahead of time. However, in a statement to the police, the homeowner denied Miller's claim.
Under the plea agreement, the original two charges - a felony count of burglary into an occupied dwelling and a minor charge of petit larceny - will be dropped.
As part of the plea deal, the actor is expected to receive a sentence of 89 to 90 days in jail, all suspended, and will be placed on probation for a year. They will also be fined $500 and $192 in surcharges.
Will Ezra Miller's Plea Deal Affect The Flash?
This latest development could definitely affect The Flash's marketing, mainly because Ezra Miller's presence is expected to be limited in press tours and interviews.
Although this would hurt the film, many would agree that it would be best for the actor to take a break and let the other stars handle the promotional drive.
As for the actor's future as the DC hero, it remains to be seen if this plea deal will also affect it. Hopefully, DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran's upcoming slate announcement could clear confusion among fans.
The Flash is still set to premiere in theaters on June 23, 2023.

PANIC AT MARVEL! SUPERHEROES FAIL TO HIT THE TOP BOX OFFICE SPOTS IN 2022! It's All Over.
For the first time in years, DC and Marvel superhero movies failed to dominate the annual theatrical marketplace in 2022 as comic book flicks were overshadowed by big-budget franchises like “Avatar: The Way of Water,” “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Jurassic World Dominion,” which rose to the top of the box office heap instead.

With $1.5 billion for “Avatar” and $1.49 billion for “Top Gun,” these sequels finally broke the chokehold that superheroes have held on the global box office since 2017, the last time that blockbuster movies unrelated to DC Studios or Marvel led the movie pipeline.
Meanwhile, 2023 brings a slew of big franchise titles, including “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” “Fast X” and “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” which rank among the most anticipated despite featuring not a single caped crusader.
Are audiences finally tired of superhero stories? Some Hollywood insiders say Yes. “You’re used to maybe one or two Marvel movies a year alongside one DC movie,” said a top movie studio executive who declined to be named. “Now you’re going to see so many per year that they are losing some of their luster, especially when factoring streaming shows [like ‘The Peacemaker’ and ‘Moon Knight'”].
Noting the shift in box office results, Box Office Pro analyst Shawn Robbins observed: “The butter is being more evenly spread out on the bread.”

Comic book films flew high, but other franchise titles flew higher
Last year’s superhero films earned around $4.06 billion or around 15.6% of the global total, according to Box Office Mojo. Comparatively, such films earned $5 billion in 2017 while only making up 12.5% of the $40 billion global total. In 2018, superhero films earned $7.3 billion, and jumped up to comprising 18% of the $41 billion global box office.
President of IMAX Entertainment Megan Colligan said that “superhero movies will likely continue to be the bedrock, given their passionate global fan bases and sheer volume.”
The likes of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” are expected to pull their weight in 2023, even if — as Robbins noted — “None of them scream automatic No. 1 movie of the year.”
Last year may have been the transition analysts were expecting in 2020 prior to the pandemic
The superhero fall-off in 2022 was expected to take place in 2020. At the time, few experts expected a year like 2019 when Disney ruled with $12 billion out of a $41 billion global annual total thanks to A-level Marvel installments, “Star Wars,” sequels, animated follow-ups and Katzenberg-era live-action remakes.
“Many big movies were moved out of 2019,” noted Robbins, “and then the likes of ‘No Time to Die,’ ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ ‘Mulan’ and ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ ran smack-dab into a global pandemic.” The year 2020 began with blow-out success for the R-rated, non-fantastical “Bad Boys for Life” and a movie based on the “Sonic the Hedgehog” video game.

Hollywood has mostly given up on non-Marvel, non-DC comic book superhero adaptations
Hollywood is realizing that comic book films not related to Marvel or DC are no safer than non-comic book franchise films. The likes of Vin Diesel’s “Bloodshot” or Daniel Craig’s “Cowboys and Aliens” bear that out. Ditto the streaming era, where Amazon’s “The Boys” is a smash but Netflix’s “Jupiter’s Legacy” was a costly single-season flop. Hollywood has no choice but to seek out other avenues — like video games — for theatrical franchise filmmaking.
Former entertainment journalist and current television showrunner (“Luke Cage,” “Ray Donovan”) Cheo Hodari Coker noted that Hollywood is finally learning some of the right lessons from MCU’s pop culture dominance.

Disney
CEO Bob Iger told hybrid employees on Monday they must return to corporate offices four days a week starting March 1, according to an email obtained by CNBC.
In the email, Iger stressed the importance of in-person collaboration.
“As I’ve been meeting with teams throughout the company over the past few months, I’ve been reminded of the tremendous value in being together with the people you work with,” Iger wrote. “As you’ve heard me say many times, creativity is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do at Disney. And in a creative business like ours, nothing can replace the ability to connect, observe, and create with peers that comes from being physically together, nor the opportunity to grow professionally by learning from leaders and mentors.”

During the pandemic many companies opted for work-from-home or hybrid work models that kept large gatherings of people, and thus the spread of Covid, to a minimum. As vaccination rates rose and cases and hospitalization rates fell, companies like Disney looked to bring staff back to offices and return to a more normalized pre-pandemic work environment.
Iger’s four-day-per-week stipulation is relatively strict compared with other large companies, which have opted for two or three mandated in-office days for hybrid employees. Apple mandated employees return to work three days a week in September. Twitter owner Elon Musk, who has famously slept as his companies’ facilities as a show of commitment, ordered nearly all Twitter employees to return to the office five days a week in November.
Disney’s new policy comes less than two months after Iger returned to the helm of the company, promising a two-year stint that would spark renewed growth for the company and develop a successor to take his place.
Iger’s return in November came days after former CEO Bob Chapek said he planned to cut costs at the company, which had been burdened by swelling expenses at its streaming service, Disney+. Iger’s return also comes as legacy media companies contend with a rapidly shifting landscape, as ad dollars dry up and consumers increasingly cut off their cable subscriptions in favor of streaming.
Iger plans to reorganize Disney’s Media & Entertainment Distribution division, which oversees the company’s content and distribution. He has maintained a hiring freeze implemented by Chapek while he changes the company’s organizational structure to give budget powers back to those who select creative projects.
Disney
shares have fallen about 40% over the past year. The company has a market valuation of around $174 billion.

Fans of the DC Universe are petitioning for Netflix to save the Snyderverse. Initially known as the DC Extended Universe, director Zack Snyder helmed the first wave of DC films, including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. With an established cinematic universe of DC heroes that included Henry Cavill's Superman, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, and Jason Momoa's Aquaman, the so-called Snyderverse was met with mixed reviews, but was generally well-received by DC fans. However, it was announced in October that James Gunn and Peter Safran would become the heads of DC studios, and in December, significant changes were announced for the DCU, namely that Cavill would not be returning as Superman despite his cameo appearance at the end of Black Adam, which released only in October.
With the era of the Snyderverse seemingly over, DC fans are petitioning to have Netflix save Snyder's vision. The hashtag #SellSnyderVerseToNetflix is currently trending on Twitter with over 12.9 thousand tweets at the time of writing, and #SellZSJLtoNetflix has over 18 thousand tweets. These newest hashtags come in the wake of similar campaigns on Twitter, including #GunnAndSafranOut, #FireJamesGunnAndPeterSafran, and #BoycottWB. See posts from the campaign below:

M3GAN was released in theaters nationwide on Jan. 6 and grossed over $11.7 million in box office sales. According to a recent report from Variety, M3GAN is projected to rake in somewhere between $17 million to $20 million by the end of its opening weekend. While Avatar: The Way of Water is expected to hold on to its top spot, M3GAN is certainly fast on its heels. The film has already done better than projected as the project is already expected to succeed in making more than the 12 million it cost to produce it.
If you've been living under a rock and don't know what M3GAN is about, allow us to fill you in. M3GAN is a life-sized robotic doll designed by a state-of-the-art toy company headed by its designer Gemma. M3GAN serves as a best friend and confidante to a little girl named Cady, who is recently orphaned and living under the care of her aunt Gemma. M3GAN is initially everything a guardian could hope for: she is attentive, playful, and protective over her ward. Then one day, things take a drastic turn for the worse when Gemma makes the unfathomable decision to link her M3GAN prototype with Cady so that she can devote more time to her work as a roboticist. M3GAN then becomes unmanageable and destroys anyone she perceives as a threat to herself and Cady.

M3GAN was directed by Gerard Johnstone and stars Allison Williams as Gemma, Brian Jordan Alvarez as Cole, Ronny Chieng as David Lin, and Violet McGraw as Caddy.

M3GAN is already one of the most talked about films of 2023 and is expected to be a huge box office draw. Audiences by now are familiar with the film's main cast, but who are the actresses who have made M3GAN come to life? They are actresses Amie Donald and Jenna Davis. While Jenna provides that eerie voice audiences have come to recognize as a symbol of horror, Amie Donald provides the physical performance thanks to digital visual effects and prosthetics.
In real life, Amie Donald is a 12-year-old actress from New Zealand who made her film debut in the 2021 Netflix mystical series Sweet Tooth. Amie is also an accomplished dancer with many awards and credits her name. Jenna Davis is an 18-year-old American actress born in Plano, Texas. Besides the voice in M3GAN, Jenna is also known for her role in the 2022 Hulu tv series Maggie. Jenna is also a singer, songwriter, and YouTuber.

MASSIVE CUTS AT WARNER BROS ALL DONE! DC Studios To Announce New Films This Month & The Rock Coup!
Wiedenfels said the company is putting its integration efforts behind it as it moves into 2023. The combined company had a series of layoffs and reshuffled top executives last year, and in mid-December said it would book $3.5 billion in charges – $1 billion more than it previously announced – related to the merger.

Warner Bros. Discovery Shares Jump 4% as CFO Says Restructuring Is Past
https://www.thewrap.com/warner-bros-discovery-stock-shares-jump-restructing/
Shares of Warner Bros Discovery shot up Thursday amid a down market after the company’s finance chief said the company is done with the restructuring that came with its April acquisition of Warner Media and sees multiple opportunities for growth this year, including potentially raising prices on its direct to consumer streaming offerings.
The stock gained 4%, to $10.81, in afternoon trading, while the broader markets declined over 1% amid concerns that interest rates will continue to rise after another report that showed the job market is still hot. Earlier in the session, it peaked at $11.05.
CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels, in a wide-ranging discussion with analyst Jason Bazinet at Citi’s Communications, Media & Entertainment Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Thursday, offered a series of positive developments for the combined company, including the impending launch of a combined Discovery-HBO Max app, but also acknowledged that the advertising market has not reversed its downward trend.
Wiedenfels said the company is putting its integration efforts behind it as it moves into 2023. The combined company had a series of layoffs and reshuffled top executives last year, and in mid-December said it would book $3.5 billion in charges – $1 billion more than it previously announced – related to the merger.
Now, the finance chief is looking forward, to new content, including DC Comics-related programming, cross-platform promotions to drive viewership to its different offerings and more.
“There’s going to be an enormous amount of flexibility,” Wiedenfels said. “You’ve you’ve seen some of in some of our decision making already, that we’re willing to take that perspective and make rational decisions and we don’t have to have everything, every last title fully exclusive.”

Also Read:

Among the moves he was referencing was the decision last month to pull “Westworld” and “Love Life” from HBO mad and license them to third-party ad-supported streaming services.
“There may be other ways to monetize internally and at times externally as well,” Wiedenfels said. “And we’re willing to you know, run the numbers and form a strategy and make those decisions.”
The drive for monetization comes at a time when advertising trends have not gotten better, the finance chief said, “and if anything have gotten worse” in the U.S. U.K. and Germany. Other markets in Eastern Europe and South America are not seeing as significant a hit, he said.
But he remained optimistic. “I have no doubt it is going to come back,” he said, calling the environment right now “short-term noise.”
“While we’re seeing some small green shoots for Q1, I wouldn’t want to call them the turn here yet,” he arned. “It’s a little more mixed.”
The combined company has a built-in marketing machine that the CFO said it has already started to take advantage of. “One thing that we have started leveraging much more, that we’re going to see more of next year as well, is this enormous marketing power that the company has. We’re reaching 10s of millions of people every day.” That gives the opportunity to use the various linear and app-based platforms to advertise directly to users.
Wiedenfels pointed to its data collection operation several times during the discussion as offering a major advantage to the company, because it helps target advertising.

The finance chief also expounded on streaming app pricing, stating there’s no doubt that these products are priced way too low.
“I think there was this part of the capital market-fueled phase of land grabbing,” he said of the variety of streaming services launched and enlarged in recent years. “You couldn’t lose enough money and couldn’t grow subscribers fast enough.

The Walt Disney Co. paid a heavy price for their foray into woke politics as they lost $123 billion of their market value as stocks dropped 44.58% from the beginning to the end of 2022.
The company opened the year at $156.76 per share. After a year of battling Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, pushing woke content in their blockbuster movies, and replacing their controversial CEO with his predecessor, Disney closed the year at $86.88.
The year marked the worst annual decline in nearly 50 years for Disney. According to Dow Jones Market Data, Disney’s stock fell by 54% in 1974.
While Disney’s problems this year stem from lower-than-anticipated profits for their streaming service Disney+ as well as lower box-office receipts, the company’s shameless promotion of LGBT content certainly played a part. If the market report is any indication, pushing queer representation and other woke politics was a bad move for their bottom line.
As a recap, Disney made headlines early in 2022 for picking a fight with Florida governor Ron DeSantis over the state’s Parental Rights bill. After receiving criticism for taking a neutral position on the legislation, then-CEO Bob Chapek reversed course in early March with a public apology to the LGBT community.
What followed was a back-and-forth feud with the Florida legislature that effectively marks the start of the slide. On March 1, 2022, Disney shares were at $145.70. By May 4, the company had lost nearly $63 billion of its market share with an over $30-per-share decline recorded in the annual market summary.
In the time between, FISM reported on the “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” openly admitted to by top Disney executives. Chapek also announced that a same-sex kiss would be featured in one of their expected 2022 blockbusters, “Lightyear.”
In case there was any doubt after 14 countries announced the ban on the Pixar movie because of this kiss, “Lightyear” was a June box office flop. While Disney executives anticipated the film would net at least $70 million in its opening weekend, it only brought in $50.6 million.
In November, Chapek’s departure as CEO was unexpectedly announced amid layoffs. His predecessor, the 71-year-old Bob Iger announced he would serve again as the company’s chief for another 2-years.
At that time, the company’s stock value was $97.58. Prices continued to decline even as Disney released two more anticipated blockbusters at the end of the year.
Their animated film with an openly gay teenager, “Strange World,” also failed expectations. It brought in a meager ticket sales of $18.6 million during its opening weekend when Disney executives anticipated at least $30 million in sales.
Meanwhile, the long-expected “Avatar” sequel was not enough to give the company an end-of-the-year boost. While some believe investors are refraining from buying into Disney while waiting to see what decisions Iger makes in the coming months, Disney appears to be paying a steep price for their heavy-handed sermonizing of woke politics in their content.
Netflix has also suffered this year after receiving similar criticism for catering to the LGBT population. Their stocks fell by $302.49 per share for a 50.64% loss.

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 isn’t trailing Transformers: Rise of the Beasts as much as Belloni reported after two weeks, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is still significantly off the pace compared to Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In fact, both films have more than doubled up on trailer views compared to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is not only trailing these films when it comes to trailer views as noted by both Belloni’s inside source as well as spot-checking YouTube, but Belloni also claims the film is already at a disadvantage because Stephen Spielberg is not directing the film and Harrison Ford is 80 years old and is supposedly the leading man in a film franchise known for its action adventure heroics.
The film’s promotion has also been plagued by director James Mangold’s antagonistic behavior to concerned fans about what he and Lucasfilm have planned for the film.

Lucasfilm has a track record of destroying their male-led franchises, one needs only look at the the desecration of Han Solo in The Force Awakens that turned his character into a deadbeat dad, who then gets murdered by his own son.

DISNEY FRAUD? Disney Has A Problem With Overcharging Itself For Disney+ Content IGER Must Fix ASAP!
Using an accounting technique called "transfer prices" that likely got Bob Chapek fired, Disney has been over-exploiting a loophole allowing it to overcharge itself for Marvel shows (every Marvel show is $25 million per episode, compared to Sandman for $15 million per episode) and other content for Disney+, showing fake profits and ultimately hiding even larger than reported losses for it's streaming service. The technique of using transfer prices to shifts costs and profits around is legitimate, but only up to certain limits, and was only possible to do at this large scale using the soon to be dismantled by Bob Iger, Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution division created by Bob Chapek.
