Sierra Trail Camera videos

This morning it is smoke. Don’t know if we will see any sunshine today.

We are now on a evacuation warning. Car is packed Won’t be sleeping much tonight.

He just seems to be checking the area out.

With all the heat we have been seeing a lot of this behavior. They just stretch out flat like a pancake and relax. It must be cool in the dirt.

It has jumped over to El Dorado county. View behind the house.

This is definitely a smaller and darker bear than we have been seeing.

We hadn't seen him for a couple of days but he came back for the grapes and carrots last night. I worry when we don't see him for a few days.

He checked it out and then finally climbed in a snagged a grape before heading off.

When you live in the mountains there are just certain things you need.

This guy just out for a stroll. He might have been heading to the garbage cans since it was trash pick-up" day.

The baby possum finally got brave and snagged a cookie from the bowl. In his previous video he was too scared of the dish. I love how he climbs in over the lip - too cute.

If you turn up the sound you can hear them talking to each other as they pass the camera. This is why I love living on the mountain. Beautiful creatures...

This very young possum was not sure if the pan was a trap. He could smell the grapes but was still unsure.

Squirrel versus the raven....and the winner is.... Squirrel. There were some grape remnants on the ground and the squirrel wanted them more.

This is the injured possum we are helping. If you turn the sound up you can hear him munching away on the dog biscuit.

This is a very young possum. We were surprised to see it alone. We will be watching and hoping it stays safe.

This guy came through looking for the scraps I leave for the injured possum. Ended up taking a dip in the creek to cool off instead.

This mountain lion was coming up from the creek pauses as it sees something and then is gone. Had to post the entire video as trimming it affects the quality.

I took a video of his print which I will share later. I measured it to be between 7 and 9 inches long. We are trying to figure out how to measure his back height since the camera distorts other objects in the video. (that tree on the corner is huge.)

The doe was on the other side of the fence. The fawn was busy eating, leaves, still in its mouth, when it realized Mama was not near by. They reconnected with Mama's help after a couple of minutes.

We leave apple scraps and various things for the injured possum. (See earlier videos) Tonight the bear got his treat. The bear was here for a good 15 minutes total. Watch the next video to see his abrupt departure.

After spending 15 minutes eating the possums apple scraps something spooked him and off he went.
