Making White Castle Sliders the Authentic Way..ish
White Castle is and has been the oldest continually operated burger chain in America since they opened in 1921. Very little has changed with regard to the sliders they make. I imagine a person from the 1920's would very much recognize the sliders they still sell today. That is pretty amazing really. I tried to keep this as authentic as possible with the exception of the mustard. White Castle uses Duesseldorf Mustard and that has Horseradish in it. Since horseradish would send me straight to the hospital I went with yellow mustard, sorry. Yes, this is NOT authentic but whatchagonnado?
If you want to but the square burger rings I used to make the patties here is the link
https://amzn.to/4aLWotg
That is an Amazon Affiliates link and I do make a fraction of a penny if you buy them using the link. I promise to use the money to buy cool stuff for the channel. Maybe a stick of gum or 6 grains of salt? Sick! New Salt! Thanks!

Making Chicken McNuggets at home AND The Sweet & Sour Sauce
Obviously, McDonald's Chicken McNuggets are a universally loved food item. What does it take to make them? I decided to find out the hard way by making a batch myself. Of course, you must have dipping sauces for this so I made the Sweet and Sour as well. That is WAY easier than you'd think and the recipe was a little tricky to come by. THERE IS NO MUSTARD IN THE SAUCE!!! Enjoy!

1 tbsp Peach Preserves
1 tbsp Water, wet
2 tsp Distilled Vinegar
1 tsp Soy Sauce

How to Make the Infamous McDonald's Arch Deluxe
IN the mid 1990's McDonald's had a plan. They were going to "shift" their menu to a more adult audience. They hired chef Andrew Selvaggio and the Arch Deluxe was created. He also launched a more grown-up version of their chicken sandwich and the fillet-o-fish. Sure the price point was much higher but these were real sandwiches for people with jobs! Why wouldn't they buy it? I guess there were several reasons because this deluxe menu only lasted a couple of years. Now, it is just a distant memory and a cautionary tale. Know your customer and give them what they want...

Panko Breaded Crispy Onion Rings Recipe
If you love onion rings as much as I do, you need to make these. I made this batch to go with the Carl's Jr Western Bacon Cheeseburger video I just released but these stand on their own. If you want a more traditional style breaded onion ring go with regular bread crumbs or cracker crumbs work great too. That is up to you. These techniques works great no matter what breading you use. Recipe is below and so is a link to the deep fryer I was using in the video. It is an Amazon Affiliates link so it helps support the channel a little as I do make a small amount off each purchase made using the link below. Enjoy!
Crispy Panko Breaded Onion Rings Recipe"
1 or more Sweet Onion, sliced 1/4" (6mm) or larger if you prefer
1/2 cup All Purpose Flour for dusting
Batter Recipe:
1 1/2 cups AP Flour
2 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Granulated Garlic
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp White Pepper (black pepper works too)
2 tsp Baking Powder
1 1/2 cups Whole Milk
1 large Egg
At least 1 1/2 cups of Panko Bread Crumbs. You may need more if you are using more than 1 onion
Oil for Frying
Salt for seasoning after they are fried.

Hardee's Original Frisco Burger
In the early 1990's Hardee's released the Frisco Burger. Their version of a patty melt. The 1/4 pound charbroiled patty, 2 slices of swiss cheese, tomato and bacon was served on a toasted sourdough bread. The sauce is a bit of a mystery. It may have just been mayonnaise or it could have been an onion mayo. I have heard rumors about the sauce but nothing definitive. I went with the onion mayo and it works well. This really could use some extra help though. The secret sauce from the Super Star/ Famous Star would be a great addition to this burger! Hope this video brings back fond memories of this classic menu item from the 1990's. Enjoy!

The Lost Burger Icon, The Big Shef Burger from Burger Chef
Burger Chef is a very important chapter in the history of fast food. They innovated so many things, the flame broiler, combo meals, Happy Meals and the Big Mac. That list goes on and on but sadly, Burger Chef does not. They were bought out by Hardee's in 1982 and within a few years, all but one Burger Chef restaurant had closed their doors forever. This burger is a very important part of the history of the fast-food burgers. It deserves it's rightful place on the FF Burger Hall of Fame. Enjoy!
