Shooting plastic plates at a Live-Fire Tactical Event
NEW SHOOTERS — LIVE-FIRE TRAINING BUILDS YOUR SKILLS QUICKLY
Shooting plastic plates at a Live-Fire Tactical Event
In this video our trainees run a course of fire that begins with shooting at falling plates. Traditionally this type of setup consists of heavy steel plates mounted on a sturdy steel frame. In this modern version the plates are made of a lightweight plastic that allows the bullets to pass through them and then the holes heal up by themselves. The big benefit is you can haul these around easily as they are relatively small and not too heavy.

DS-11: Learn to re-holster your gun safely
LEARN TO SHOOT — LEARN TO RE-HOLSTER YOUR GUN SAFELY
If you shoot a hammer-fired gun, you must always do one of two things before re-holstering when it is loaded. You must either move the external safety to the “safe” position, or operate the de-cocking lever to lower the hammer. You need to do this every time you holster your gun. Here’s the reason WHY you need to do this. After shooting a hammer-fired gun, the hammer is cocked, the safety is off, and it has a very light trigger pull.
In this video:
— We’ll help you learn how to safely re-holster your loaded hammer-fired gun.
— This type of gun has a very light trigger pull when the hammer is cocked and the safety is off.
— The reason for making it safe before holstering is to prevent an unintended discharge.

-- Standard prone. Best for quick shots. This is a one-handed shot and it’s difficult to hold this position for an extended time.
-- Roll to side prone. Very good if you have enough time to get into this position. It’s very stable and comfortable for nice, steady two-handed shots.
-- Monopod “golf-grip”. Good for precise or distance shots.
