It appears that kiwi is so excited for our hand feeding session that she gets on the door to her cage! Then she listens to me when I tell her she has to move! It all appears to be what is happening, but could be coincidence?

We are working on training a parakeet (kiwi) to let us pet her and one day sit on our hand. She is an older bird given to us, hopefully we can teach her now.

Kiwi is playing with her mirror/bell as I am hitting it. We have worked on not being scared of me and my hand. Still trying to pet her without her flying off thou.

We are working on training Kiwi (the parakeet) to step onto my hand as well as let me pet her. This is the first time she has eaten bird food, not just millet seed, from my hand.

This is kiwi eating millet spray seed from my hand. She was in play mode so only a couple bites today. We are getting closer to her hanging out on my hand. Still working on petting too.

While cleaning kiwi’s cage, she came up and touched my hand with her beak ever so gentle. There was no nip, so that’s a bird kiss? Right? Lol this is my first bird and I am learning the ropes with a unique active parakeet! I am blessed to have Kiwi!

This is kitty. For some reason she was rubbing that wash cloth all over her face! Lol almost like it had catnip, but it didn’t.

I am trying to train Kiwi(who is a older bird we were gifted) to not fear my hand. Today was the first day she didn’t care that my hand was super close to her! I guess next I will try to pet her beak Or just touch her feet... thank goodness she is so small a nip won’t do anything.

I was feeding the cats when the camera started and Lattie would rather be on film then eat his dinner.

Here is Lattie just hanging out being petted, BUT his face looks like he is mad! If you listen closely you can hear the purring. :)

This is Kiwi and her antics of attacking her mirrors almost like a love hate relationship with the bird in the mirror.

This is Lattie. He is super smart and this is just one of his many tricks/antics! He loves that red bird!

This is Kiwi. She is dancing for her food after I cleaned her cage. This bird is such a blessing and makes my day with antics and singing all day!
