Anaerobic Runs. Anaerobic conditioning is HUGELY important for long runs/marathons in order to prevent/minimize "hitting the wall" and crossing the finish line.
What "anaerobic" type tasks can you do each week that will carry you further? Tasks that are outside of your "normal" "maintaining" mode that will make a difference now and later?

June 19, 2024 - The Base Run...Hell ya!
Good morning! After a day of "rest" yesterday, meaning no run, today is a Base Run day. What is a base run? It is a medium to long distance run at an easy(er) pace. The purpose and benefit of a base run is to increase edurance and aerobic ability. It also increases 'time on feet' and distance without adding strain or fatigue. It is a run done now that benefits you later...increasing aerobic ability and endurance for a planned race in the future.
What are "Base" activities we can do now that do not require a ton of effort or fatigue, but that will move us forward in the "long run" (pun intended)? ;) For me, tasks like laundry, making the bed (which I tend to skip a lot of the time), running errands...another pun, not intended. Mostly "to-do" items. Get those done and feel good about it!! Until next time...
