What a powerful bike! The Milwaukee-Eight 114 is the most powerful power unit, which is currently available from Harley-Davidson as standard - except for the exclusive CVO models. And in this Fat Boy of our customer it's standing in the limelight. Almost everything that's suitable for it is wrapped in sparkling chrome or made of polished aluminum. And look on the tank - the wolf rides along!
This Fat Boy is probably one of the most eye-catching under the sun. Or should we say under the moon? There is an airbrush on the tank, as seen mainly in the 80s and 90s. And even today many people might look for it. On one side a white wolf looks us straight in the eyes, on the other side he howls at the moon. Maybe our client strays around at night with his pack?
But he can't hide with his bike: From front to back the Fat Boy flashes with all its chrome and polished aluminium. And there's no sneaking up on them, thanks to the new exhaust system from Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde.
And this is what this Fat Boy looks like in full gear! He is often on the road with his wife and treats her to a padded backrest and small running boards from the Willi G. Skull Collection, just like he uses them as driver. On our sundowner seat they can feel safe and comfortable. Of course, the luggage rack system is also chrome-plated and it can be mounted and dismounted in seconds with a single movement.
From this perspective you can also see the exhaust system in its full glory. In addition to the rich sound, it also comes with the desired high-gloss chrome.

Dragsters are the most brutal thing we have to offer. And that in different variants: the Dragster short and crisp with flat handlebar and low seating position is the original version. The Dragster RS with a solid frame, a new fork, one-arm swingarm and in the case of the RS-R a more edged sheet metal dress as well as the fully milled Wheels. The R-O Dynamic is equipped with 21" and 23" wheels. The TBR-R comes with a trapeze fork and a square bodywork. The GP, the latest upgrade to date, is made with a new fork and new wheels, making it the ultimate bike in the Dragster series.

Harley riders have long memories. Ten years ago, they wondered why the Slim model had that name. With its wobbly 16-inch tires, it rolled on anything but a slim foot. The Slim, with its promise of slenderness, always looked a little disproportionate, if not chubby. The Softail Slim was a model for the 2010s. These were the last years of the Twin Cam engine, which was still available in the A and B series, with and without balancer shafts.
As a Softail, the engine rotated on balancer shafts, so it was B, for "balanced," and originally had 103 cubic inches, or 1690 cubic centimeters of displacement. Here we have a 110cc S version with Screamin' Eagle components, which means 1802 cc. Built in 2016, it is one of the last Twin Cams, just before being replaced by the Milwaukee Eight. Something you can and should love.
Some parts of the customer's bike had already been modified, which is the fate of every Harley. But we like to keep working on it. So we took the challenge of making the Slim a really slim bike all the more seriously. Our main focus was on the wheels. And because we are customizers, we also gave the rear end a total makeover.
This is not just a matter of taste, but a practical necessity, because what is so slim about the massive rear end of the original Slim with its sweeping fender struts?
Our FLH wheels are slim! This is due to their slender spokes and especially to their larger diameter. The front wheels are now 21 inches with 130 mm wide tires. The rear wheels are 18 inches. Their 200 mm tires don't look fat at all, but rather powerful.
The Dark Hopper owes its slim rear view not only to the FLH wheel, but to the entire ensemble. The brake disk has been moved back to the left between the wheel and the pulley. It is a disc from our Spoke series, whose black spokes could make a soup plate disappear into a delicate nothingness.
Of course, all of this is only impressive because the standard fender and struts have also disappeared. With our Flying Slim concept, the Dark Hopper now has a custom swinging fender held up by custom perforated struts and topped off with a mono tail light. We swing the Spirit Leather saddle with airy hairpin springs. Not only does this give the bike the look of a rigid frame, but it also streamlines the bike. Of course, everything is lowered. This applies to the rear as well as the front end, which has the physical side effect that the fork geometry hardly changes despite the significantly larger front wheel. The narrow Recall front fender is part of the streamlining concept. So the line is right and the former slim is now really slim.
We wouldn't be Thunderbike if we didn't have a few more things in our hands. This is especially true for the Jekill and Hyde system, which conjures up an appropriate and legal sound at the push of a button. Combined with our Grand Classic air cleaner, this literally gives the Dark Hopper a boost. That leaves the splashes of color, which in our case are powder coatings.
All glossy black, because black is not only always the right color, it also makes you look slimmer. So we have arrived. And so has our customer. It may be difficult for him to explain to other bikers that they are looking at a former Slim. They will certainly understand better if he explains to them that Thunderbike made it.

Ambassadors of a past era.
He was old school before the term “oldschool” even existed. Known as “Pauki”, Reinhold Paukner was a customiser of the first generation. He made a name for himself in south-west Germany in the eighties, when a balloon tyre was still regarded as a really big pellet. Back then, the Evolution engine was considered the devil’s work, because a real Harley biker rode at least a Shovel.
Then came the big boom, when the first half-breeds earned enough money to afford brand new Harleys. Because it was already an Evo, they did not have to go through the hell of tinkering with Shovels, on which Pauki had completed his apprenticeship. On the other hand, if they wanted to get there a little faster, Pauki would get them there too, because once the Evo was there, Pauki knew how to turn that first sturdy Harley engine into a beast that was strong as an ox by the standards of the time.
But we were talkin' about old school...
And it comes as no surprise that Paoki chose a final year Shovelhead to customise. It would have been typical of him to want to preserve a value that was already becoming historic.
As an ambassador of a bygone era, this Shovel made its way north to us. Our boss, Andreas Bergerforth, bought it from a collector. He appreciated its historical value and, apart from the necessary maintenance work, never lifted a finger on Pauki’s Shovel. Everyone in our company loves to ride her, and even a pillion rider feels comfortable on this western-style saddle. Oh, it’s like she wants to sit down for a square dance right after the ride.

Udo is part of the screwing crew of the Thunderbike team. Of course he is familiar with all models of any years of construction, but especially it has done him the old iron. His own Shovel he has been driving for over eighteen years, in almost unchanged condition on the asphalt and an end to this relationship is far from in sight!
Once again, Udo gave his “old iron” a retread and did a little facelift. The new look is not only well received by us, but also the Easyriders magazine became aware of the Big Inches Shovel and gave her and Udo a story in the current Easyriders issue 1/2018.

Harley-Davidson SHOVELHEAD Custom: GLAMOR * A&T Design
Of course, tastes are different and that’s exactly what makes a bike. With passion and smeared fingers, the dusty piece is reanimated and brought to life by some glamorous touch. Glamorous enough to be shot in a motorcycle magazine a good 50 years after the birth of the Shovelhead engine.
In our rebuild we start in the heart of the Shovel engine! 1966 was the year of birth of the Shovelhead engine, a revised only in the area of the cylinder head and valve train Panhead engine.
This time it reminded imaginative spectators of the underside of a typical American coal shovel. During the construction period of this engine, a distinction is made essentially between the so-called “Early Shovel” (early Shovel) with displacement of 1,200 cm (recognizable by the kidney-shaped right engine case, the timer sitting on the camshaft housing and the generator sitting in front of the crankcase) and from 1969 / ’70 delivered “Late Shovel” (Later Shovel, generator behind the prime mover) with 1,207 cc displacement.

The Flathead Harley-Davidson engine saw the light of day in 1930 and can be found in Germany mostly in WLA models, which were left behind by the US Army after the 2nd World War. Successors are the later developed Knucklehead (1936-47, parallel built) and the Panhead from 1948.

Harley-Davidson FLATHEAD Custom: 1942ER * A&T Design
As early as 1938, Harley-Davidson had the idea of producing military machines against the political background. So that Harley-Davidson could do the “business”. In 1940, the US Army ordered the first 745 units of a military version of the WL, the WLA, with revised front fork, aluminum cylinder heads, crash bars, saddle and rifle bag.
The performance of the 250 kg heavy machine was 23.5 hp at 4,600 rpm. From this model, about 88,000 copies were produced between 1940 and 1945; making the WLA one of Harley-Davidson’s most popular models. The V-engine, which became known as the Flathead, was a side-mounted variant of the Harley-Davidson in various variations, later produced in large quantities for the military until 1948.

In Faak we had a little time to work on some ideas we had for the BBO. The public gets a chance to vote there so we had to come up with something to surprise them, to build something a bit different, something that nobody would expect us to build.
An extreme old-school bike! That would be the first one for us! But then we’d take one, that’s the real McCoy, a Flathead, nobody in Germany has ever customized one before, and we happened to have one standing around in the shop.

Harley-Davidson Custom: FLAWLESS * A&T Design
Flawless means pure, in the diamond industry, it stands for flawless stones. That’s why this name could hardly be better for the latest Thunderbike design. Perfection where you look, although what you get to see is limited to the essentials. Most conspicuous are the wheels, which we have milled in bicolor design from the solid. Of course, it was advisable to match the air filter housing to suit it.
Numerous details, such as handlebars and fittings, pegs, covers and side mount license bracket have been compiled with great care from our parts repertoire. The NH-Power Belt Drive System not only provides the power transmission of the 110 Screamin’Eagle engine, but also ensures that the left side of the bike is a real eye-catcher.

Harley-Davidson LOWRIDER Custom: RADICAL OVER * A&T Design
The boys of Thunderbike from Hamminkeln have worked their way up to the top regions of the European custom scene in a remarkably short time. In the meantime, they produce show bikes almost every month, which set new standards at local events. With the Radical Over, a new lowrider was constructed, which will make the water drip from the corners of the mouth.
The Radical Over was created within only twelve weeks and was built for the European Bike Week. It was supposed to be a bike that would not only cut a fine figure during the showdown around the lake, but also on the numerous passes in the surrounding area. The Sigle-Down- Tube Frame has been designed to achieve an extremely low seating position. You can’t get any lower than that, otherwise you’d have to sit with your ass cheeks in the curves. The steering head tilt is 40 degrees, the frame height is eight inches and the frame length is seven inches.
The fact that current show steppers have an Air Ride system with which they can be quickly lifted from an ultra-flat show look to a driving-friendly level is almost standard. As a rule, the rear end is raised or lowered. The fact that the steering head angle and thus also the castor can change sensitively as a result is usually accepted cheaply. Thunderbike, however, has solved this problem particularly tricky: the entire load can also be pumped up and down at the front. The shock absorbers of the Springer fork contain the necessary compressed air chambers. In this way, the entire bike can be perfectly adjusted at the push of a button. The gigantically large wheels should still look familiar to you from Thunderbike’s last stroke of genius: The round bikes from Thunderbike’s own production have already been mounted on the Open Mind and have been produced in 21 and 23 inch for this project. The star shape used here can also be found on several other components. The covers of the Rebuffini brake and clutch cylinders, the air cleaner as well as the fuel filler cap are worth mentioning.

Harley-Davidson Custom: RADICAL OVER 26 * A&T Design
In our new edition of the Radical Over the 26 “wheel stands out, of course. The custom-made 26 “inch variant of our Open Mind front wheel was specially designed for this bike, and the bike was fitted with our base-hole footrest, grips and Open Mind Toppers to keep the bike on a 21-inch rear wheel to maintain its appealing proportions. The matching engine covers, the air filter and small details such as the polished exhaust tailpipe of the Funride exhaust complete the look.

The bike was named for our lowrider bike design, which is also available for many more Harley-Davidson.
