First episode of a new format. Lots of edges to sand, but one must never despise rough beginnings! Had a great time with my mom as a guest, as we briefly touched on why death has such an impact despite knowing it is just part of the process.

A good friend got me thinking about the nature of Lofty Tangents, the cost and risk of speaking your mind, and a myriad of other random topics. As per the usual.

A brief train of thought on injuries and then it's on to comparing Jaws the film with Jaws the novel (that I just read). SPOILERS for both, by the way. Sadly ran out of time, battery and card space before I could wrap it up, so it ends a bit abruptly. Mea culpa!

The much-anticipated (tee-hee) sequel to my first foray into stand-up. I take my sweet time getting there though, as is my wont.

A fun bit of rambling to combat a headache and a bit of oppressive funk. Extrapolating on a formal dress code late in my scholastic pursuits...and sprinting down a bunch of side roads in the process.

Inspired by folks who have distanced themselves from the BLM organization, but not necessarily the principle or ideology behind it.

First, apologies for my glossy appearance. Not sure how I became so shiny just going up the stairs a few times, but hopefully it's not too distracting. It took me four tries on four different days to get this out, and it still almost got sabotaged by an accidental "CMD + Z" during the render. The struggle is real! Asking the question: Why do we fixate on history so much? Why do we think it does define us and our current circumstances? Should it?

A more relaxed approach, remembering my first attempt at stand-up comedy, my first attempts to woo and pursue, and a kinda deep dive into LotR and the nature of power.

Trying to unravel the reluctance of people desiring a moderate world to take action and make it happen. Working through it as I go, so quite a messy yarn of tangents, culminating in my phone dying and running out of storage space almost at the same time.

A derail from a take before I'd sorted out what I was actually going to talk about. Mostly wondering why we think we can avoid repeating history as a people when we as individuals have a propensity to disregard mistakes in our pasts.

This one hurts. The one time I didn't double check if the camera was rolling...and it wasn't. :( So audio only for this, folks. Longest video to date (I think), and all my magnificent gestures and doughy expressions were done for naught. Ah well. Discussing the lightning strike on the George Floyd mural in Toledo, the importance of presenting Jesus with love, and many things in between.

A look back at my first impressions of Twitter, the hollowness of fame, and why I'd be reluctant to consider getting into a relationship with Jennifer Aniston (or any other celebrity).

Examining how to reach people, how to be reached and the importance of love being at the forefront of our thoughts/actions--all during some ugly audio/visual hiccups. Always use your own lighting! The sun is good for warmth, but as a light source, it is often wanting!

Questioning the point of argument, debate, and delving into situations that are outside our control and sphere of influence. An encouragement to rest and prepare, because sooner or later we're going to be called into the game.

Questioning whether America is truly divided in terms of actual percentages, why people cheat, how we see that manifesting now, and what it could mean about where we stand and where we can go.

A casual PSA regarding motorcyclists, questioning greeting protocols, and focusing on--and presenting--positives when it comes to who we are and what we stand for. Leave the negatives in the negative!
