Because just when we don't step in at a livestock auction, the very next day we see them listed at a kill pen! =( No... really! This happened a few days ago! Hugh was purchased from a horse trader with a sticker on his butt, so the trader must have gotten him at an auction then took him to Elkhart Horse auction. Evanescent was lucky to have found out about these BLM Mustangs being run through a livestock auction - some still with their BLM tags on - and we kept them from being purchased by known kill buyers & flippers. The 10 in this video make 22 BLM Burros picked up in just two separate occassions - the first being the beginning of May. This is due to the Adoption Incentive Program the BLM came out with as a way to boost adoption;however, the "adopters" are instead collecting their money and dropping the animals off at a kill pen!
