1~2~1 with Jim Cuddy featuring "Skyscraper Soul"
recorded January 2012
***
As long as I've been around the music industry, the voice of Blue Rodeo's Jim Cuddy has always held a special comforting tone. I've seen the band numerous times in various venues across Canada & wish I had a nickel, or even a penny, for the gazillion times I spun one of their classic tracks on my radio show(s), or events I put together.
In Sept. 2011, Jim had released his 3rd solo album "Skyscraper Soul" & the new year had him rolling across Canada warming souls with every performance.
When the phone rang, I had all the music, switches & buttons ready to go for this feature artist interview which aired across the province of Saskatchewan & beyond via the MBC Radio Network.

Musicians:
Basil Donovan - bass
Colin Cripps - guitar, mandoguitar, slide guitar, dobro, vocals

1~2~1 with Johnny Reid
1~2~1 with Johnny Reid featuring: "A Place Called Love"
recorded: November 2013
******
Recorded in November 2013, this 1-2-1 features Johnny Reid's 6th studio album, "A Place Called Love", & was produced to promote his upcoming Saskatchewan shows in support of the new record.
Learn the inspiration behind the music, and be inspired by John's journey from a teenage boy, leaving his home to start over with his family in a new country, rising to become one of that country's most celebrated and loved artists.
Discover the deep connection between the passing of his Grandmother & songs from the new album. Feel the deep sense of pride he has for his father's "hands of a working man". Hear the unmistakable "thanks" in his voice as he recounts his time at Bishop's University in Montreal. Learn why, after being courted by every major record label in North America, John opted to sign with EMI Music. Chuckle along with him as he recalls his Uncle & Aunt in Scotland being the inspiration behind one of the hits on the album. Join me in a high five to JR for his work with the Children's Aid Foundation. Find out the true origins of his Tartan Army and why Johnny Reid prefers Tim Hortons over Starbucks.
Johnny Reid's gratitude, appreciation & love for the people, & opportunities, he has encounted since coming to Canada at the age of 16 will captivate you from the first song to the last.

1~2~1 with Errol Ranville - C~Weed Band
1~2~1 with Errol Ranville - C~Weed Band featuring "Forever" recorded: May 2012 ****** I was given the opportunity to chat with one of Canada's legendary artists of First Nation ancestry.
Errol Ranville, founder & front man for Manitoba's C-Weed Band has been making music since the 60's & continues to perform in 2024.
I've lost count of the number of albums & cds Errol has released; "Forever" was his 19th & I dug deep into my piggy bank to help stage a celebration concert during my time with the MBC Radio Network in La Ronge, Saskatchewan.
This interview is one of the many album showcases I loved to produce during my time in broadcasting, it also served as a fantastic promo for what turned out to be a stellar performance.
C~Weed Band:
Errol Ranville - lead vocals, guitar
Don Ranville - drums
Clint Dutiaume - lead guitar, fiddle
Marc Arnould - keyboard
John Irvine - bass
Ashley Klassen - supporting vocals

1~2~1 with Norm Macdonald
1~2~1 with Norm Macdonald recorded September 2010
******
September 2010 I had the unbelievable good fortune to interview Canadian comedy icon Norm Macdonald as promotion for his upcoming stand-up show @ the Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford, Saskatchewan Canada.
I was sooooo nervous. I'd been a fan for Norm, and his unique brand of comedy, for a very long time. It was one of those times in my life that I had to really contain the "fanboy" in me.
Here is the edited version that I aired on my radio show, stitched together to produce this video.
Enjoy.
