Salute @andraya_carter
Andraya Nichole Carter is an analyst and reporter for ESPN/SEC Network coverage of college basketball, college football, and the WNBA. She was a co-host for Out of Pocket with Alyssa Lang until 2023. She started working as a sideline reporter for the NBA on ESPN in 2023.
In 2024, Carter was an ESPN basketball analyst for the Women’s Final Four along with Chiney Ogwumike and Elle Duncan. The women’s NCAA championship game was the most-watched women’s basketball game on record and drew a bigger television audience than the men’s title game for the first time, with an average of 18.9 million viewers watching undefeated South Carolina beat Iowa and Caitlin Clark. The trio were called “the big three”[8] on social media due to their impact on the growth of women’s basketball.

RBS #78 LeBron, Curry, Durant, Embiid star-studded 2024 U.S. Olympic men’s basketball roster….
RBS #78
LeBron, Curry, Durant, Embiid headline star-studded 2024 U.S. Olympic men’s basketball roster….
USA Basketball has finalized the men’s roster for the upcoming Paris Olympics, and the star-studded squad is sure to draw comparisons to some of the most famous teams that have ever taken the court for the United States.
The 12-player roster, which includes several big-name NBA players, was officially named on Wednesday:
Bam Adebayo, F/C (Miami Heat)
Devin Booker, G (Phoenix Suns)
Stephen Curry, G (Golden State Warriors)
Anthony Davis, F/C (Los Angeles Lakers)
Kevin Durant, F (Phoenix Suns)
Anthony Edwards, G (Minnesota Timberwolves)
Joel Embiid, C (Philadelphia 76ers)
Tyrese Haliburton, G (Indiana Pacers)
Jrue Holiday, G (Boston Celtics)
LeBron James, F (Los Angeles Lakers)
Kawhi Leonard, F (Los Angeles Clippers)
Jayson Tatum, F (Boston Celtics)
Of all the players on the team, Kevin Durant and LeBron James have the most Olympic experience. Over the course of three Olympic appearances (2012, 2016, 2020), Durant became the all-time leading scorer for the U.S. men. James has also played in three Olympics (2004, 2008, 2012) but has not appeared for Team USA since 2012.
Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Bam Adebayo all return from the gold-medal winning team of the last Olympics. Anthony Davis also has Olympic experience but, like his NBA teammate James, hasn’t played since 2012.
What really makes this roster stand out though are the new names on Team USA, especially Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid. Curry, now 36, has yet to appear at the Olympics despite a legendary 15-year career in the NBA. Embiid, who was leading the NBA in scoring this season before a knee injury, will likewise play in his first Olympics after choosing to represent the U.S. in international competition over France and Cameroon.
Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton — two of the NBA’s rising young stars — will also make their Olympic debuts in Paris, as will veteran forward Kawhi Leonard.

Angel foul on Caitlin was a basketball play upgraded to Flagrant 1! There was more to the game also 😳
And here we go and I was on YouTube you can’t believe the ridiculous THUMBNAILS
All mpg them are CLICKBAIT TITLES. So it seems like these folks are definitely not basketball people because if Angel Reese, Aja Wilson,Skylar Diggums Smith and Kelsey Plum very hard fouls WE NEED THE SAME ENERGY!
You all know that wasn’t the only play. And Clark didn’t get hit that hard. DAMN

Caitlin Clark scores 23, leading Fever to 2nd win over Sky this WNBA season….
The rivalry that WNBA fans have been hoping to see between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese developed further Sunday afternoon as the Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky, 91-83, in a fiercely contested matchup.
Clark scored 23 points on 7-for-11 shooting from the floor, adding eight rebounds and nine assists. She started off hot for the Fever, making her first three shots and scoring seven points in the first quarter. That matched her entire scoring total from Thursday’s win over the Atlanta Dream.
Angel Reese couldn’t beat foul trouble
Reese was limited by foul trouble, going to the bench with four personals after picking up three in the third quarter. That included being called for a flagrant foul upon review after hitting Clark in the head on a drive to the basket.
The foul trouble stalled what appeared to be a good game for Reese, who led the Sky with nine points at halftime. She finished with 11 points, a team-high 13 rebounds and five assists.
Marina Mabrey led Chicago with 22 points, while Chennedy Carter followed with 18 and Dana Evans finished with 12. Kamilla Cardoso scored 10 and grabbed 10 boards, initially helping the Sky to assert their frontcourt advantage over Indiana.

Indiana Fever’s matchup with Chicago Sky to air on CBS4 Sunday….
INDIANAPOLIS — CBS4 will air the Indiana Fever’s matchup with the Chicago Sky on Sunday.
The contest is scheduled to tip off at noon at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and it is one of two Fever games that will be on CBS4 over the next three weeks. CBS is also scheduled to broadcast the Fever’s matchup with the New York Liberty on July 6.
Sunday’s game will pit Indiana’s rookie point guard, Caitlin Clark, against the Sky’s 2024 lottery draft picks, center Kamilla Cardoso and forward Angel Reese.
Clark, who was the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft, leads all rookies with 15.6 points per game. Reese has scored the second-most points among rookies this year with 12.2 a game.
Cardoso is sixth on the list of the league’s leading rookie scorers with 8.8 points per contest. Cardoso, however, she has missed six of the Sky’s 12 games with an injury.
Reese and Cardoso rank first and third among WNBA rookies in rebounds per game. The duo is averaging 10 and 5.7 boards per game, respectively. Clark is the WNBA’s rookie assists leader with six a contest.

Gervonta Davis knocks out Frank Martin to retain WBA lightweight title
After the longest layoff of his professional career, Gervonta “Tank” Davis reminded the boxing world of the undefeated southpaw’s one-punch power during an eighth-round knockout of Frank Martin Saturday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Davis (30-0, 28 knockouts) retained his WBA lightweight title with a left uppercut followed by a straight left that sent Martin into the ropes and onto the canvas for good. The Baltimore native won his fourth consecutive fight via knockout after practically conceding five of the first six rounds in order to gather data on his opponent before ending another bout in resounding fashion.
“A couple rounds, I didn’t feel like I warmed up completely like I wanted to, but I did warm up as the fight was going on,” said Davis, fighting for the first time in 421 days, during a post-fight interview in the ring. “I knew that he was going to tire down, so I was just standing there, being a target for him so he could tire himself out. And once he tired himself out, I started picking him apart.”
Entering the seventh round, Martin (18-1, 12 KOs) held a 37-31 edge in power punches, according to CompuBox statistics. But Davis turned that margin around drastically by landing 19 power punches to 11 for Martin.
That round was a prelude to the vicious finale for Davis, who stalked Martin into the corner and began unloading at will. A clean left stunned Martin, and Davis unleashed another that left no doubt and drew cheers from the announced crowd of 13,249.

Doncic scores 29, Mavericks roll past the Celtics 122-84 to avoid a sweep in the NBA Finals…
DALLAS (AP) — There were two options for the Dallas Mavericks. Pack for Boston, or pack for vacation.
Boston awaits.
These NBA Finals are not over, thanks to one of the biggest blowouts in title-round history. Luka Doncic scored 25 of his 29 points in the first half, Kyrie Irving added 21 and the Mavericks emphatically extended their season on Friday night, fending off elimination with a 122-84 rout of the Celtics in Game 4.
The 38-point final margin was the third-biggest ever in an NBA Finals game, behind only Chicago beating Utah 96-54 in 1998 and the Celtics beating the Los Angeles Lakers 131-92 in 2008.
“It’s real simple. We don’t have to complicate this. This isn’t surgery,” Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. “Our group was ready to go. They were ready to celebrate and we made a stand. We were desperate. We’ve got to continue to keep playing that way. They’re trying to close the door. The hardest thing in this league is to close the door when you have a group that has nothing to lose. Tonight, you saw that.”
The Mavs’ stars were done by the end of the third quarter, with good reason. It was all Dallas from the outset, the Mavs leading by 13 after one quarter, 26 at the half and by as many as 38 in the third before both sides emptied the benches.

Angel Reese Thrills WNBA Fans with 5th Straight Double-Double in Sky Loss vs. Mystics…
Although the Chicago Sky narrowly fell to the Washington Mystics on Friday night by the final score of 83-81, Angel Reese wrapped up another impressive game.
While Chicago entered the contest with a losing record, it was still a disappointing defeat at the hands of a Mystics team that only earned one win in their first 13 games of the season.
However, Reese finished with her fifth consecutive double-double by scoring 10 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. Although she struggled a bit from the field by shooting 3-10 overall, she came up with several clutch buckets in the fourth quarter.
This included a layup and a foul that cut Chicago’s deficit to a mere two points with just over one minute remaining in the contest.
Fellow Sky rookie Kamilla Cardoso made a positive impact as well, finishing Friday’s contest with 12 points on 4-5 shooting.
After scoring a career-high 20 points against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday, Reese has continued to look more comfortable with each passing game in her brief WNBA career. Fans were pleased with her effort despite the loss:

Former WNBA player Nancy Lieberman , Caitlin Clark should be on the Olympic team to gain experience!
Here we go former WNBA player Nancy Lieberman wants Caitlin Clark to be in the Olympic team to gain experience.
Seriously what about Cameron Brink, Angel Reese and others t who are in the same rookie class as Clark?
Clark has no defense, she is not a point guard, but here the serious issue, Clark will not be a starter, she not gonna get the minutes, but her clueless fans will bitch and argue.
And if she gets 5 minutes the new report will be CAITLIN CLARK LEADS THE TEAM TI A GOLD MEDAL😳😳😳😳
Nancy you need to stop this mess because you know she not ready or qualified to be in this team.

The WNBA Rookie Class Angel, Caitlin , Cameron! Give them time they will be fine.!!!!
With all the talk this year about the WNBA it seems like all of a sudden these new fans of Caitlin Clatk are dislike by many who feel like they are just fans of Clark instead of basketball.
Many are experiencing racism because of the situation from 2 years ago between Angel Reese & Caitlin Clatk.
And this created a division with real basketball fans and fobs who are Clark fans.
But it fair to be a fan of whoever you like but let’s be fans of the sport and players.
It time that everyone cookout and stop trying to put this players against that player.
These young ladies have enough things to do as in adjusting to the WNBA straight out of College.
Salute to all 144 players in the WNBA and the Rookie Class of 2024

NBA legend Jerry West dies at age 86
Jerry West, the inspiration for the NBA’s logo, died peacefully at his home at the age of 86, the Los Angeles Clippers announced Wednesday.
One of basketball’s most accomplished contributors, West was a staple of the sport across eight decades, winning nine championships as a player, scout, coach, executive and consultant. He was an architect of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 10 titles in the 1980s and 2000s and an adviser to the dynastic Golden State Warriors.
Long before West established himself as arguably the greatest general manager in NBA history, he was among the league’s first superstars. A legend of West Virginia high school and college basketball and co-captain of the 1960 U.S. Olympic men’s basketball team, West made the All-Star Game each season of a 14-year career decorated with 12 All-NBA selections and five All-Defensive appearances, all for the Lakers.
He won a single title in nine trips to the NBA Finals, heartbreakingly losing six title series to Bill Russell’s Boston Celtics, and West’s Finals MVP award in 1969 remains the only time the honor has been bestowed on a member of the losing team. He averaged 37.9 points per game in a seven-game loss to the Celtics.
“He took a loss harder than any player I’ve ever known,” late and legendary Lakers broadcaster Chick Hearn once said of West. “He would sit by himself and stare into space. A loss just ripped his guts out.”
A trailblazing scoring guard and relentless competitor, West was a deadly shooter before the advent of the 3-point line, and his most famous shot came in the form of a 60-foot buzzer beater that sent Game 3 of the 1970 Finals into overtime against the New York Knicks. He joined Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson as the league’s first 25,000-point scorers. West averaged 27 points, 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds for his career.

Monica McNutt Appeared On ‘The Daily Show’ And Discussed Calling Out Stephen A. Smith On ESPN!
Jon Stewart Daily Show
Caitlin Clark entering the WNBA has led to the league coming under the spotlight in recent weeks. While the W has been growing pretty rapidly over the last few years, the addition of a high-profile rookie class headlined by Clark has brought a ton of eyeballs onto the sport. It’s generally a good thing, but unfortunately, this has also led to the league (and, more specifically, Clark) getting caught up in the sports media take cycle.
An example of this came when ESPN’s Monica McNutt went onto First Take and called out Stephen A. Smith for not using his platform to discuss the W in the past. The exchange highlighted the fact that the sports media as a whole is hitching their wagon onto Clark specifically in ways that can get really weird, and unsurprisingly, Jon Stewart brought it up when McNutt appeared on The Daily Show on Monday night. Stewart asked McNutt about the conversation with Smith, who revealed that she was surprised Chennedy Carter’s foul on Clark was going to lead First Take that day.
“I’m not gonna lie to you, Jon: If I took you through my day that morning, I get the call — or the text, rather — and I’m like, ‘Are we really leading sports with this? Are we really leading sports with a foul?’” McNutt said, with Stewart likewise expressing his surprise over the whole thing.
“I’m like, fine, let’s just do it,” McNutt continued. “So, we have the conversation with colleagues and friends — Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe. And my larger point in the conversation was the tenor and the prevailing narrative that has been created around this season’s WNBA play is that it’s the league vs. Caitlin Clark, and that is just absolutely false. It is unfair to the women that have been there, building this league to this moment, so that Caitlin Clark’s popularity can take it to the next level. And so, by the end of the show, Jon, the tone had changed, and I just kind of needed to put my foot down

Washington Mystics, after an 0-12 start, finally get first victory of the season with win over Dream..
Finally, nearly a month after their season-opener, the Washington Mystics have won a game.
The Mystics, after losing a franchise-record 12 straight to start the season this summer, pushed ahead in the second half to beat the Atlanta Dream 87-68 at the Gateway Center in College Park, Georgia, on Tuesday night. It also ended their 14 game losing streak, which dated back to the end of last season and was the longest active streak in the league.
The Mystics shut Atlanta down out of the break to start the third quarter. They held the Dream to just two field goals through the first six minutes of the period and quickly took a double digit lead once again — which they easily rode to the 19-point win.
Brittney Sykes, who had missed the Mystics’ last 10 games with an ankle injury, led the way with 18 points in the win. She shot 7-of-12 from the field and made four 3-pointers, too. Ariel Atkins added 18 points and five assists, and Julie Vanloo finished with 11 points off the bench. The Mystics shot nearly 55% from the 3-point line, and they had 25 assists on 31 made shots as a team.

UNCASVILLE, Conn. — The Connecticut Sun trounced the Indiana Fever 89-72 on Monday, at one point leading by as many as 28 points and ultimately leaving Fever coach Christie Sides upset with her team’s effort.
“I’m going to start with how you can’t, at this level, coach effort,” Sides said to begin her postgame news conference at Mohegan Sun Arena. “I felt like we were just trying to ask them to keep playing hard, play hard. You can’t start there. You can’t play in this league if you have to coach effort. It’s just too hard.”

WNBA’s best Sun dismantle Fever, as Caitlin Clark, 3 more starters benched in blowout loss!
UNCASVILLE, Conn. — The Indiana Fever suffered a blowout loss at the hands of the Connecticut Sun on Monday night, falling 89-72 at Mohegan Sun Arena.
The Fever drop to 3-10 on the season, while the Sun improve to 10-1 — the best record in the league.
Defending without fouling
Fever coach Christie Sides emphasized pregame her team needs to defend without fouling — the Sun shot shot 30 free throws in their 88-84 win in Indiana earlier this season, and that ended up deciding the game.
“Defending without fouling, I mean, we put them on the line 30 times at home in that game, so we could just cut that in half,” Sides said.
But Connecticut is the best team in the league right now, and it knows how to draw fouls. They drew 10 fouls in the first half, shooting 13 free throws. Guard DiJonai Carrington alone got to the line seven times in the first half, making six. As a team, the Fever only had six total free throw attempts in the first half.
Connecticut’s prowess in drawing fouls also led to foul trouble for the Fever. Caitlin Clark drew her fourth foul of the game at the 6-minute mark of the third quarter, and she ended up sitting for the rest of the third.

Team USA 2024, So who was supposed to get CUT for Caitlin Clark?
These Caitlin Clark fans are CLUELESS!
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has drawn plenty of early attention — particularly TV viewers and ticket buyers — this WNBA season. She also seems to have caught the attention of her fellow players.
The hard foul over the weekend by Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter brought renewed attention on the 2024 WNBA No. 1 draft pick and how others around the league are focusing their efforts on stopping her.
With nearly one-third of the WNBA season done, Clark has been fouled 46 times, the third-most in the league. None was more impactful than Saturday’s when Carter leveled the Fever guard with a shoulder block in the third quarter. The play was deemed a common foul during the game but later upgraded to a flagrant-1 violation Sunday.
Chicago Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon called out her player on Monday for the “not appropriate” foul on Clark.

WNBA FEVER DEFEAT STILL WINLESS MYSTICS!
WASHINGTON, D.C. — To keep the Washington Mystics winless on the season, the Indiana Fever closed out a gritty, 85-83, win in front of a crowd of 20,333 at Capital One Arena on Friday night.
Indiana’s win pushes them to 3-9 on the season, while the Mystics are 0-11 — now the third-longest losing streak to start a season in WNBA history, passing the 2018 Fever.
Fever hang on, keep Mystics winless
The Fever were up, 82-79, when NaLyssa Smith was called for a clear path foul with just over a minute left in the game. That foul could have been a five-point swing — Washington got two free throw attempts and possession. It could’ve been something that gave Indiana its 10th loss of the season, and Washington its first win of the year.

ADRIEN BRONER FLOORED, LOSES TOOTH IN TEN-ROUND, UNANIMOUS DECISION DEFEAT TO BLAIR COBBS
That three-word line has been a way of life for Blair Cobbs, and one he repeated after his latest victory. The boisterous welterweight rode an early lead to the finish line in a ten-round, decision win over former four-division titlist Adrien Broner. Scores were 97-92, 96-93 and 96-93 for Cobbs in their Triller TV Pay-Per-View main event Friday evening at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Broner promised to fight with renewed hunger but immediately reverted to old form once the opening bell sounded. Cobbs was able to take the first round strictly on activity, as Broner sparsely threw pawing shots.
Cobbs produced the bout’s lone knockdown early in the second. A right hook was followed by a straight left to send Broner to the canvas. It also managed to knock a tooth out of the mouth of the Cincinnati, Ohio native.

Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter lead Sky over zMystics!
Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter is launching a convincing campaign for the 2024 WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year Award.
Carter combined with Sky rookie Angel Reese for 41 points in a 79-71 Thursday night road win over Aaliyah Edwards and the Washington Mystics.
Reese led Sky starters with 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals:
The Mystics fall to a franchise-record 0-10 with the loss.
Washington will fight for its first win of the season tomorrow during another home game against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.
The Sky meanwhile improve to 4-5 with the victory. Reese and Carter will look to help Chicago hit .500 with a win at home Saturday against the Atlanta Dream.

WNBA LAS VEGAS ACES AJA WILSON STANDING ON THE TOP?
Salute to @aja22wilson for her great performance against the @dallaswings
This definitely was a hard fought game

Rock Bottom Sports
ARLINGTON, Texas — A’ja Wilson had 36 points, 12 rebounds and 6 steals to help the Las Vegas Aces beat the Dallas Wings 95-81 on Wednesday night.
Wilson became the first player in WNBA history to have at least 35 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals in a game. She also is the first with at least 35 points and 5 steals in multiple games.
Wednesday’s outing was her 10th career game with at least 30 points and 10 rebounds, and she became the seventh WNBA player with 10 or more such games, joining Tina Charles, Breanna Stewart, Lauren Jackson, Candace Parker, Lisa Leslie and Brittney Griner.
Wilson’s performance came in a physical game that left her face bloodied when she was hit multiple times while driving to the hoop, and that drew frustrations from the Aces, with coach Becky Hammon receiving a technical.
“I just take what the defense gives me and just the flow of the game,” Wilson said. “My teammates really just kept me afloat.”
