Sheep in the Midst of Wolves - A Sermon on Matthew 10:16-25
Welcome to part 48 of our verse-by-verse study through the book of Matthew, and today we continue Jesus’ powerful message to his disciples in chapter 10 as he sends them out to preach, heal, cast out demons, and even raise the dead. In the last video we explored the mission, power and authority that Jesus gave to his disciples as well as specific instructions, such as what they were allowed to bring, which was essentially just the clothes on their backs. Now, we will turn our attention towards verses 16 through 25, which has tons of amazing and interesting stuff in it that I can’t wait to unpack with you.

Are We Supposed To Do Ministry Without Money, Food, or Shelter?
Welcome to the Lion’s Den Academy as we kick off our next video in the verse-by-verse study we have currently been doing through the book of Matthew, with this being part 47. Today we will begin to explore chapter 10, which is such an amazing and powerful chapter in this gospel that really feels like a pre-game prep talk by a coach before Super Bowl Sunday, and rightly so since this is where Jesus calls his apostles and then sends them out across all of Israel to teach and preach the gospel as well as using the special authority that Jesus gives them to heal the sick, cast out demons, and even raise the dead. You could also easily compare this to a mission briefing in the military. Having served two combat tours in the Marine Corps and then spending 6 years as a private military contractor in ancient Babylon, known to you today as Iraq, I can state that, without a doubt, a mission briefing is absolutely crucial to the success of a mission being completed with success. The briefing is where the vital information gets passed to those completing the mission, and in the Marine Corps we used the acronym SMEAC to ensure that nothing was missed, which stands for Situation, Mission, Equipment, Administration, and finally Command and Signal. Jesus himself hits on each of these points as he instructs his apostles to go out for the first time without him and do what, so far, they had only seen him do.

Faith That's Through The Roof - A Sermon On The Paralytic Lowered Through The Roof
In this sermon we will explore the great faith of the friends of the paralytic who is healed in Mark 2:1-12 and we will see the radical life change that happens for both him and his friends. Fortunately for this man, his friends didn't give up, and like true Marines they "improvised, adapted, and overcame" and when the door they wanted to enter to bring their friend to Jesus was unaccessible, they found another door to accomplish their mission, and in doing so, their friend got a miraculous healing as well as a cleansing of his sin.
