South Africa Fans Uncover New Footage They Say PROVES Bongi Mbonambi' 'White*** C"
New footage has emerged from South Africa's semi-final against England on the weekend that appears to prove Bongi Mbonambi was speaking to his team-mates in Afrikaans - and he did not racially abuse Tom Curry.
In the 24th minute of last Saturday's match, South African hooker Mbonambi makes a tackle on England flanker Curry along with team-mate Franco Mostert.
When England are then awarded a penalty, Curry asks referee Ben O'Keeffe: 'When their hooker calls me a white c, what do I do?' - to which O'Keeffe replies: 'Nothing.'
World Rugby has since confirmed they are investigating the incident, but now a clip posted to social media appears to suggest Mbonambi was saying 'wit kant' in Afrikaans, which translates to 'white side'.
The aerial footage with audio provided by O’Keeffe's microphone picks up what the players are saying at each ruck.
The footage shows the South African defense scrambling to stop England from reaching the try line, making tackle after tackle.
After being given an advantage for a penalty, captain Owen Farrell attempted to chip a ball to Elliot Daly on the wing, which he was unable to reach.
O'Keeffe then brings play back to where the penalty was awarded, which is when Curry walks over to the ref to ask what he should do about the alleged racial abuse.
Rugby fans on social media have claimed it is usual for the Springboks to speak to each other in Afrikaans, and this is not racial abuse.
One person commented beneath the video: 'The team speaks Afrikaans all the time to make it harder for opposition to understand. Curry owes Bongi an apology.'
Another said: 'I'm struggling so I could be wrong, but to me, it sounds like he's saying "wyd kant" (same side we're folding to).'
On Monday, World Rugby revealed they would be looking into Mbonambi in a statement.
'World Rugby takes all allegations of discriminatory behavior extremely seriously,” read a statement from the governing body.
'We can confirm that we are formally reviewing the allegation made by England’s Tom Curry about the use of discriminatory language during the England versus South Africa Rugby World Cup 2023 semi-final on Saturday.
'World Rugby will not be making further comment until the conclusion of the process.'
While Mbonambi has not yet formally responded to the allegations, a South Africa rugby spokesperson has said: 'We are aware of the allegation, which we take very seriously, and are reviewing the available evidence.
'We will engage with Bongi if anything is found to substantiate the claim.'

Thomas Partey Ruled Out of Arsenal’ Clash with Injury and Fans Think They Know How it Happened
Partey and his partner held a gender reveal party last week and found out that they are expecting a daughter. When revealing the gender, the Ghana international kicked a football which then exploded into pink smoke. And some fans have joked that he got injured while taking the kick.
THOMAS PARTEY was ruled out of Arsenal's Champions League match against Sevilla this evening.
The Gunners confirmed that the midfielder was absent with a "muscular issue".
He picked up the injury in training earlier this week, Mikel Arteta revealed before kick-off.
The Arsenal boss told TNT Sports: "Thomas picked up an injury yesterday in training, unfortunately, it’s a muscle injury.
"We don’t know the extent of it - a big miss for us."
However, Arsenal fans are convinced that he got injured differently.
Partey and his partner held a gender reveal party last week and found out that they are expecting a daughter.
When revealing the gender, the Ghana international kicked a football which then exploded into pink smoke.
And some fans have joked that he got injured while taking the kick.
One person tweeted: "I told bro to stay fit he had only one job."
Another added: "Got injured with this kick."
While a third wrote: "Bro put a little too much into that kick 😭."
Partey spent more than a month on the sidelines with a groin injury before returning to make a substitute appearance against Manchester City before the international break.
However, he didn't feature at all against Chelsea on Saturday as Arsenal held the Blues to a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Crazy NASCAR Driver Flips Car TEN TIMES in 190mph Horror Crash as Shaken Racer is Rushed to Hospital
Here is the crazy moment a NASCAR driver's car flipped TEN times in a horror crash.
Ford's Ryan Preece was competing in the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway when the accident happened.
With just five laps to go, Preece, 32, lost control of his No41 car and drove into Chase Briscoe.
After his vehicle slid into the infield, it flipped repeatedly until it finally landed on its wheels.
Astonishingly, Preece was able to climb out of his car to escape the wreckage, before medics rushed to his attention.
He was placed on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital to be evaluated.
After the race, Preece took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to declare he would be back.
He wrote: "If you want to be a race car driver, you better be tough. Dammit. Fast @racechoice @FordPerformance Mustang. I’m coming back.
Early Sunday, Stewart-Haas Racing released an update on Preece’s condition.
“NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Preece will remain overnight at Halifax Health Medical Center for continued observation,” a statement said.
“The driver of the No. 41 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing is awake, alert, and mobile and has been communicating with family and friends.
"Preece will undergo another evaluation by medical personnel later this morning. An update will be provided in the afternoon.”
Preece has since been released from hospital, although it is unknown when he will race next.
RFK Racing's Chris Buescher eventually won the Coke Zero Sugar 400, recording his fifth NASCAR Cup Series win.

Former Boxer Jumps on Erling Haaland's Back & KISSES his Cheek after Invading the Pitch to Celebrate
Erling Haaland was joined on the pitch by a former world champion boxer after putting Manchester City in front against Sheffield United on Sunday.
Haaland had endured a frustrating first half at Bramall Lane after he missed a penalty for the first time since joining City, but he made no mistake when he got another chance after the break, heading home Jack Grealish's cross from close range.
He did not appear to be in the mood to celebrate his goal initially, clearly still annoyed at his earlier penalty miss, but was then joined on the pitch by an over-eager fan.
Appearing out of nowhere, a supporter jumped on Haaland's back and planted a kiss on his cheek, and it has since been revealed that the fan in question was ex-world champion Terry Flanagan.
Flanagan held the WBO lightweight title between 2015 and 2017, making four successful defenses of the belt before moving up in weight.
The Manchester southpaw won his first 33 professional fights but suffered consecutive defeats against American duo Maurice Hooker and Regis Prograis in 2018.
He went on to have three further fights - winning them all - to end his career with a 36-2 record.
The 34-year-old now appears to be spending his spare time watching his beloved City, and could not resist the temptation to celebrate with Haaland this weekend.
Flanagan was beaming from ear to ear as he embraced Haaland. The Norwegian striker initially appeared unaware of who had jumped on him but patted Flanagan on the head after realizing it was a City fan.
Stewards then raced on to get Flanagan off the pitch as Haaland was congratulated by his teammates.
Flanagan may have thought he was celebrating the winning goal, as City finally took the lead after failing to find a breakthrough in the opening hour.
However, the Blades hit back through Jayden Bogle to set up a nervy finish.
City responded like true champions, though, as Rodri fired home a late winner to maintain their 100 percent start to the season and send them back to the top of the table.

Arshad Nadeem Becomes the First Pakistani to Win a Silver Medal at the World Athletics Championship
Arhsad Nadeem becomes first Pakistani to win silver medal at World Athletics Championship. A Pakistani javelin thrower and star athlete Arshad Nadeem was able to bag the first-ever medal for his country at the World Athletics Championship Sunday in Budapest, Hungary with his best 87.82-meter throw.
India's Neeraj Chopra was able to secure the gold medal with his best throw of 88.17 meters.
At the start of the game, Arshad Nadeem could not have a good start with his throw only reaching 74.80 meters, however, he made a comeback with a remarkable 82.81 meters on his second attempt.
In his fourth attempt, the 26-year-old could only reach 87.12m, much less than he was expecting.
Earlier Saturday, Nadeem qualified for the final of the World Athletics Championship with his best throw of 86.79m.
The benchmark for the Olympics was 85.50m, which Nadeem managed to cross successfully.
The latest win comes after Nadeem came into the spotlight shot when he finished fifth in the Tokyo Olympics, a feat that changed the entire life of the athlete, marking great influence on his personality.
Nadeem then also finished fifth in the World Championship in the US last year.
Soon afterwards he recorded his best throw of 90.18 meters in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham which is also a record throw of the quadrennial event.
The star athlete then underwent elbow and left knee surgery in London, took time in his rehab, and returned to the competitive field in May at the 34th National Games in Quetta.
In this event, he received a heavy blow when he injured his right knee, later forcing him to skip the Asian Championship held in Bangkok.

Awkward Moment: Antonela Roccuzzo MISTAKES Inter Miami Teammate Jordi Alba for World Cup Winner
Following what looks to be Inter Miami's Leagues Cup triumph vs. Nashville, Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo went to congratulate her man with a hug and a kiss, only to realize it wasn't him. It was in fact Alba, which was realized as the pair's head moved toward one another.
It was Alba, which was realized as the pair's heads moved toward one another. Then, before any hug or extra affection could occur she realized it was Messi's ex-Barcelona teammate.
The left-back has made six appearances for Inter Miami and has a goal, along with two assists to his name.
He will be part of the away side hoping to start a climb from the base of the Eastern Conference standings in New Jersey on Saturday night.
Messi played 120 minutes on Wednesday night in Inter Miami's US Open Cup semifinal win on penalties over Cincinnati and afterward, coach Tata Martino suggested he needs to manage the minutes the superstar plays.
Inter Miami are last (15th) in the Eastern Conference and face off vs. The Red Bulls (11th) at 7.30 pm ET.

Daniel Dubois Should be a Heavyweight Champion, Says Carl Frampton as He Insists Shot was NOT a Blow
Carl Frampton has claimed that Daniel Dubois should be heavyweight champion after he knocked Oleksandr Usyk to the floor with a controversial punch during their blockbuster fight.
The British fighter landed a heavy punch that floored the Ukrainian in the fifth round of their bout, with Usyk ultimately going on to win and retain his heavyweight belt.
It was a hard strike to the abdomen of his opponent and left Usyk reeling backward, falling onto the ropes behind him.
The heavyweight champion could not get up and a time-out was called after the referee saw that the strike was 'below the belt', with the official giving him enough time to gather himself before continuing.
Yet, Frampton, who was on commentary for TNT Sports tonight believes that it was not a 'low punch' and that Dubois should have won the fight.
Frampton said: 'When I saw it, it didn't look low to me. That was not a low blow. That was a body shot.
'He should have been counted out. Daniel Dubois should be unified heavyweight champion right now.'
‘I still don’t think it was [a low blow],’ Frampton added.
‘The shot was borderline, some referees would say it was low and others would let you get away with it.
‘For me, it wasn’t low, Usyk has used his experience and taken a body shot.
‘That did not hit the part that he has led us to believe it hit him, he has taken a body shot, and he has thought I can get away with pretending this is low.
‘He took a rest because he has been hit by a body shot.'
Former WBC super-middleweight champion Richie Woodhall also spoke out against the decision claiming 'fingers will be pointed at the referee'.
He said: 'It was a borderline shot and there'll be a lot of fingers pointed at the referee tonight, especially from the Dubois camp.'
Usyk would ultimately go on to win the fight, downing Dubois in the eighth and ninth rounds before the referee chose to stop the fight after the champion landed a big right hand on his opponent.
Darren Fletcher added: 'There's a lot of discussion around our commentary position, people asking us how low the shot was.
'There will be people who believe Daniel Dubois was robbed and people who think it was the right call.'
After the match, the London-born fighter, Dubois claimed the result was not fair, saying: 'I have been cheated out of victory tonight.'
The fifth round punch was played again on the big screen in the venue with the fighter adding: 'How is that a low blow.'
Frank Warren meanwhile called for a rematch claiming it was 'total nonsense'.
'This is a boxing match and should be above board, but it was not a low blow,' Warren said on TNT Sports.
'It’s a nonsense, a total nonsense. The governing bodies must order a rematch.'
He added: 'It wasn't a low blow. I wish they could put it up on there now and we could all see it. They didn't take any points off him. I like Usyk, but that was a complete home decision.
'He was not fit to go on and they gave him a couple of minutes to recover. It should be straight and it should be above board.
'How long did he get to recover? The governing bodies will have to look at that and order a rematch. We will order an appeal for what's happened here.
'It's all about a legitimate punch that stopped him and he should have won Everyone wants to see the unification. If Daniel had got the result then it would have been easy to do. We will see now.'
Former WBC flyweight champion, Charlie Edwards, wrote on Twitter: "More you watch it. It’s low for me. Don’t understand the major argument about it. It was well on the protector on the waste line and below. I get Daniel is the TNT fighter. It’s a business."
While Liam Smith also had his say on the decision, claiming that the punch 'was low'.
He wrote on Twitter: 'It WAS low, whether his protector is high or not (which should have been pulled at the start of the fight if team Dubious felt it was high) it’s just below waistband. Ye, Usyk milked the time he was allowed but, no one can answer whether he stays down if the ref counts it.'
The 36-year-old fighter's record now sits at 26-0-0 and after the fight, he called out Tyson Fury claiming 'he was ready' for the Gypsy King.

Long Jump Star Carey McLeod 'Goes into Orbit' in Bizarre World Athletics Championships Blunder
Jamaica's Carey McLeod looked like he was never going to land after one of his attempts in the World Athletics Championships long jump final went wrong.
Long jump star Carey McLeod had World Athletics Championships viewers in stitches with his failed attempt in the final.
The Jamaican, 25, was one of the medal contenders in Budapest, Hungary on Thursday (August 24) night - although you wouldn't have thought so based on his third jump.
McLeod, who rather unusually also competes in the men's triple jump, slipped on the board, which sent him flying up into the air like something out of a superhero movie.
After spending what seemed like an eternity hanging over the pit, he landed just past the eight-metre mark in nasty fashion. Luckily he managed to avoid injury.
The hilarious moment was soon clipped up and shared on social media, with fans reacting in their droves. One joked: "Great new sport. Could watch that all day long."
A second echoed: "Man just invented a new sport. Far better than the long jump. May need a longer sandpit tho."
A third reckoned McLeod was doing his best impression of Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana when he somehow avoided giving a penalty away earlier this month, commenting: "Fantastic imitation of Onana v Wolves."
"Cracked me up this, looks like Uncle Phil just chucked him out his house in Bel Air," wrote a fourth. A fifth replied: "Oh man, now I want a Looney Tunes Olympics."
While another popular joke amongst football fans was said by many, including a sixth who captioned the video: "Penalty to Liverpool."
To add insult to injury for McLeod, he missed out on the medals on a countback after matching the 8.27m distance of compatriot Tajay Gayle.
Their fellow countryman Wayne Pinnock looked to be on course for gold. But he had to settle for silver after Greek Olympic champion Miltiadis Tentoglou edged him by two centimeters with his final jump.

Chaotic: Four People Shot at Oklahoma High School Football Game as Players and Fans Ran for Safety
Four people were shot at an Oklahoma high school football game as chaotic footage captured players and fans running for safety on Friday.
The gunfire rang out around 10:15 p.m. at Bill Jensen Field at Choctaw High School during an early season rivalry game between Choctaw and Del City, KOCO 5 reported.
Choctaw Police Chief Kelly Marshall confirmed that four victims sustained gunshot wounds — one of which was a student, she revealed during a press conference.
“I know one younger, possibly high school student, was treated,” Marshall said.
The victim suffered a thigh wound and has been released from the hospital, Marshall said.
The status of the three remaining victims is still unclear.
Police described the shooter as a “black male with a gray hoodie” but said they do not have any suspects in custody.
Three people were detained for questioning, Marshall said.
A Del City Police officer fired his weapon during the pandemonium, Del City Police Chief Loyd Berger said during the press conference.
“I know one of our officers was involved and discharged his weapon,” Berger said. “As far as at who or if he hit anything, I don’t know.”
An off-duty police officer provided security on the sideline when the gunfire erupted, Berger said.
At least 35 officers from multiple departments in the area responded when the news broke about the shooting.
“The panic kind of came in waves after the initial shots. Just a scary situation,” The Sports Animal reporter Mark Rodgers, who was at the game, told the outlet.
A video posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, from the game’s live broadcast provided by Skordle.TV shows the horrifying moment as Del City led Choctaw 35-25 when the shots were fired in the third quarter.
Players and spectators packed in the stands were then seen bolting for cover in the clip.
“What is going on,” says one of the broadcasters as players and officials on the field are seen running for cover.
“We got people shooting,” the second broadcaster declares as the sound of the gunfire becomes apparent.
As those in attendance are seen in a panic, the in-game announcer is heard telling fans and players to “get down” in the stadium before the clip ends.
Choctaw High School is 25 miles east of Oklahoma City.

Portuguese Athlete Leandro Ramos Produced a 'Flipping Crazy Javelin Throw at Athletics Championships
Portuguese athlete Leandro Ramos produced a 'flipping' crazy javelin throw at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest that had fans labeling him as 'pure gold
Portuguese thrower Leandro Ramos left athletics fans scratching their heads after witnessing his 'flipping' crazy javelin somersault throw at the World Athletics Championships.
Running up to throw his first effort of the day in Group A of the men's javelin throw at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Ramos looked to be about to unfurl an orthodox attempt.
However, at the point of launching his javelin into the air, Ramos quite literally flipped the script, producing a stunning somersault that saw him leap off the ground and land squarely on his feet.
And it's safe to say the 22-year-old's flying effort got people at home off their seats cheering Ramos on, with one fan labeling the Portuguese athlete as "pure gold".
Another added: "Between this and McLeod’s long jump yesterday, the world championships are diversifying!" A third said: "This is amazing, but...why?"
A fourth said: "This is extra but I love it." And a fifth commented: "Leandro Ramos with a very unique Javelin throw technique. Just look at that flip and then the smooth landing."
However, despite winning the hearts of fans who witnessed his rather unique technique, it appears Ramos' efforts were all for naught. In group A, he recorded a throw of 74.03m, which saw him finish in 15th place, way off qualifying for the final.
And the javelin flip hasn't been the only mad incident to have happened so far at the World Athletic Championships either. Just a day prior, American sprinter Noah Lyles was involved in a buggy crash that thankfully resulted in no major injuries.
Bahamian sprinter Anthonique Strachan was caught on camera nearly leaping out of her skin after her 200m semi-final race when mascot Youhuu snuck up behind her to give her the fright of her life.
And then on the same evening, Jamaica's Carey McLeod accidentally slipped during his long jump final run-up, which resulted in him being launched into the air as if he was 'going into orbit'.

National League Bizarre Clash Suspended as Fuming Southend Fans Throw Tennis Balls on the Pitch
SOUTHEND'S non-league clash with Eastleigh was delayed for a bizarre reason.
Furious Shrimpers hurled tennis balls onto the pitch as they protested their ownership following this week's ten-point deduction.
Southend were punished by National League chiefs after the High Court set them an October deadline to pay off debts worth £275,000 to energy suppliers and electrical contractors.
It's the club's 18th winding-up petition in the last 14 years.
Supporters have long been calling for owner Ron Martin to leave, with many fearing for the club's long-term future.
And in the 10th minute of Friday's home clash with Eastleigh, they let their feelings be known in style.
A barrage of tennis balls were launched onto the pitch as fans called on Martin to go.
The disruption caused the match to be suspended as staff cleared the field.
But it eventually continued as Southend raced into a 2-0 lead before half-time.
The protest came two days after Southend's latest High Court drama.

New Shocking Footage Shows Horror Crash after ‘BMW Carrying Ex-Premier League ace and EFL players’
New FOOTAGE has emerged showing a car driving several Gillingham players crashing into a wall.
A BMW carrying the footballers collided with a wall on a residential street.
Video shows that the vehicle spun around and drove over the brickwork on Woodlands Road, Gillingham at around 10.50 a.m.
It then hit a wall and followed through into a parked car on the driveway.
Another clip shows the players all walking away from the accident seemingly unharmed.
The League Two players believed to be involved in the incident include ex-Crystal Palace and Wales star Jonny Williams - who featured for his country at last year's World Cup.
Fellow midfielders Timothee Dieng and George Lapslie are also claimed to be involved, along with striker Macauley Bonne.
SunSport has contacted Gillingham and Kent Police for comment.
It is understood they were on their way to or from club training.
The car was taken away on the back of a lorry.
As reported by Kent Online, a resident said: "It looked like everyone was okay because there were no ambulances.
"The players got picked up by colleagues in other cars and then the driver [of the BMW] waited.
"Police were there waiting for recovery, but it looks like the car has been recovered now.
"It looks like it’s caused a lot of damage. The neighbors are shocked. The guy who lived there was opening his curtains as it happened so he saw it.
"This road has a school on it. Luckily, it’s school holiday time or people could have been hurt."

Daniel Ricciardo is OUT of the Dutch Grand Prix with a Broken Wrist after Smashing into a Barrier
Daniel Ricciardo's return to Formula One came to a juddering halt on Friday after he broke his wrist in an innocuous-looking crash in practice for the Dutch Grand Prix.
The Australian pranged his AlphaTauri at the steeply banked Turn Three and would have been fine other than for not releasing his grip from the steering wheel on impact with the wall. 'Ah, f***, my hand,' he exclaimed.
Ricciardo was taken to a local hospital, his left arm in a sling. An X-ray revealed a fractured metacarpal in his left hand. A team statement confirmed the 34-year-old would sit out Sunday's race. His place will be taken by New Zealander Liam Lawson, 21, a Red Bull reserve driver without a Formula One start to his name.
The accident is a cruel bump in the resumption of Ricciardo's career after just two races. An eight-time Grand Prix winner, he sat out the early part of the season after being dropped by McLaren at the end of last year, before being granted his dream comeback when Nyck de Vries was sacked by AlphaTauri ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix last month.
His smash appeared to come about after he was distracted by the McLaren of Oscar Piastri, his countryman who had just hit the wall at the same point of the Zandvoort track.
Before the setback, Ricciardo had been thought of as a possible replacement for Max Verstappen's out-of-sorts team-mate Sergio Perez, but that prospect is now on hold.
As for Verstappen, the accusation leveled at him is the same as the one previously laid at Michael Schumacher's door: he's so good he's killing the sport.
Yet a few yards down the paddock, Lando Norris had no problems with the one-way road of success, insisting his pal should be recognized as one of the greatest drivers of all time.
The weight of numerical evidence for that assertion will be compounded in front of a partisan crowd of 105,000 if Verstappen claims a record-equalling ninth consecutive victory here tomorrow. King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands is expected to attend Max's court.
Yes, Verstappen is driving a superior Red Bull, the car that has won 22 of the last 23 races. Yawn. But, in a measure of his mastery on all days and in all conditions, his lead over Perez, in the same equipment, stands at 125 points. He could wrap up his third successive title as soon as in Japan on September 24, with six rounds remaining, and may yet win all the remaining races, let alone match Sebastian Vettel's mark, set in 2013.
McLaren's Norris, who pipped Verstappen to the top spot in practice, is not turned off by monotony, saying: 'I enjoy watching Max 100 percent. I can quite happily say I think he is one of the best drivers ever in Formula One. We should enjoy witnessing this. That's better than complaining because he's doing so well.'
Some rumour-mills would pair Verstappen, 25, and Norris, 23, together. That would be exciting though Norris is contracted to the end of next year and Verstappen is signed up to Red Bull until 2028, if he sticks around that long.
Could Norris compete against the one-man typhoon who has blown all previous teammates to shreds?
'I'm not going to say no, am I?' reasoned Norris. 'But you are not ever going to have someone in Formula One who can convincingly beat Max. He was born into this. He had a dad who knew F1 (Schumacher's former Benetton team-mate Jos). Mine was the opposite. I started for fun. I'm playing catch-up of about four years.'

Noah Lyles was involved in a Dramatic Buggy Crash on the way to the Track ahead of 200m Semi-Finals
American star Noah Lyles was involved in a dramatic crash shortly before his men's 200m semi-final at the World Championships in Budapest.
Lyles and the rest of the field were being transported in a golf buggy from the warm-up/holding area to the track when their vehicle collided with another.
The hefty shunt was so strong that it knocked the driver of one of the buggies out of his seat and onto the floor. The volunteer managed to return to his feet and walk away unscathed.

The athletes involved were due to race in the first semi-final of the evening but the race was pushed back to being the third and final men's semi-final.
Both Lyles and Hudson were able to compete, with Lyles qualifying for Friday's final after winning the delayed race. Hudson did not progress after finishing fifth.

Brit: Josh Kerr's Partner Screams from the Stands with His Family and Friends on the Home Straight
Josh Kerr's friends and family screamed the house down as the British track star stormed to World Championship gold in the 1500m.
A video taken by Kerr's coach Danny Mackey captured the joyous moment his Union Flag-waving entourage, including fiancée Larimar Rodriguez, celebrated his historic victory in Budapest.
Tension is etched all over their faces as Kerr battles Norway's middle-distance king Jakob Ingebrigtsen down the home straight before the euphoric realization he's going to win.
Kerr's fan club is seen dashing down to the side of the track and screaming in delight as the runner comes over to celebrate with them.
The 25-year-old, who hails from Edinburgh, produced the race of his life on Wednesday night to overhaul favorite Ingebrigtsen on the final stretch.
'It's been a long time coming,' an ecstatic Kerr admitted. 'It's quite an overwhelming experience. But I am so proud of myself, my team, and my family. They got me here.
'I didn't feel like I ran my best race, either. I just threw my whole 16 years of this sport into that last 200m and didn't let up until the end.'
Writing on Instagram, coach Mackey said: 'I am so proud of you @joshhkerr. I am so happy for your family, not a better group of people I've met who will appreciate and be humbled by their son's title better than them.
'For me, I got into this sport to see if a person, on the right team, with grit, intelligence, scary discipline, and full of joy, could be the best in the world without cutting corners, no grey areas, all above the board.
'You gave me that answer.'
Kerr's strategy was strikingly similar to how his Edinburgh Athletics Club team-mate Jake Wightman took on Olympic gold medallist Ingebrigtsen to win gold in last year's World Championship 1500m final.
'I was battling with Jakob pretty hard,' said Kerr. 'You can see from my face that I was throwing everything I had at this guy.
'I looked up at the screen and I didn't see anyone coming and I made sure I pumped all the way home. I am so happy.'
Kerr had spoken in the run-up to these games about his dream of emulating Wightman's success at the 2022 Championships. The now-former world title holder was unable to defend his crown in Budapest due to injury.
Kerr maneuvered himself into position as the final bend approached and launched his siege on Ingebrigtsen.
From there and with the Hungarian crowd willing him on as if he was one of their own, he kicked on to the finish line to claim a memorable victory in 3min 29.38sec.
Gold here for Kerr eclipses the Olympic bronze medal he won at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
Wightman, who watched on in the stadium as a pundit for the BBC, could hardly contain his pride. 'It stays at Edinburgh Athletics Club,' he said.
'Our little club has had back-to-back world champions… that's hard to believe. Jakob Ingebrigtsen is going to start hating us Brits, ain't he?'

Lionel Messi Fairytale Continues as the US Open Cup Final with ANOTHER Penalty Shootout Win
Inter Miami 3-3 Cincinnati ( 5-4 on pens): Lionel Messi fairytale continues as The Herons book a spot in the US Open Cup final with ANOTHER penalty shootout win. Messi's mania showed no sign of stopping Wednesday night as Inter Miami picked up its cup from where it left off; with a penalty shootout win.
Inter Miami had lifted its first-ever trophy in the Leagues Cup final Saturday night but David Beckham's side is already eyeing another as it kept the chances of adding a second alive with a penalty shootout win over FC Cincinnati in the US Open Cup semifinal.
Cincinnati had cruised into a 2-0 lead after Luciano Acosta opened the scoring for the MLS leaders in the 18th minute before Brandon Vazquez doubled the lead eight minutes into the second half.
Leonardo Campana handed the visitors a lifeline as he pulled one back from a Messi cross at the 68th-minute mark. Yet, the World Cup winner still seemed to be facing his first defeat in an Inter Miami shirt.
But that hasn't been the script since the Messi miracle hit Miami and Wednesday was not going to be any different.
Once again, Messi inspired the comeback for Miami. Just had he did on his debut, the Argentine delivered another last-gasp moment of magic.
In the seventh minute of added time, Messi received the ball on the edge of the box and delivered a sublime ball for Campana to once again get his head to, sending the clash to extra time at the death.
Miami took the lead for the first time when Josef Martínez scored three minutes into the first extra period, but Cincinnati equalized when Yuya Kubo scored in the 114th minute, forcing penalties - Miami's second shootout in a week.
Messi made Miami's first attempt in the shootout, and both teams were perfect through four rounds.
Once again, Drake Callender provided the heroics, saving Cincinnati's fifth spot-kick from Nick Hagglund before 18-year-old Benjamin Cremaschi stepped up to slot the winning penalty home and send Tata Martino's men through to their second final.
Cremaschi quickly was met by his teammates after the ball hit the back of the net, and they danced around in a group circle on the field while FC Cincinnati players knelt in disappointment after seeing another opportunity for the club´s first trophy off the table.
'I think we were lacking sharpness to navigate that first half,' Inter Miami coach Tata Martino said through a translator.
'We were a step off. I saw a team with one gear less than our rival. The good thing about all of this is that we didn´t drop our shoulders, we pressed on. It´s not easy in a semifinal to turn things around the way we did. We adapted a lot. I think we were controlling the game well in the second half. And the penalties, after that ... If I´d had this kind of luck in penalties for the rest of my career, things would have been a lot less stressful.'
Houston beat Real Salt Lake in the late semifinal to set up a showdown against the Herons on September 27.

Emotional Moment: President of Spanish FA Kisses Player on the Mouth During the Trophy Presentation
This is the moment the male president of Spain's FA grabs one of La Roja's World Cup-winning players and #SpanishKiss her in the mouth.
The victorious Spanish stars stepped onto a podium after their triumph over the Lionesses at Stadium Australia to collect their gold medals from FIFA president Gianni Infantino, after they beat England 1-0 in today's final.
Spanish star Jenni Hermoso and her teammates were congratulated by dignitaries including Queen Letizia, dressed all in red in support of her compatriots, who gave players a warm embrace.
Also on the stage was Spanish Federation boss Luis Rubiales, who threw his arms around striker Jenni Hermoso, and gave her a strong hug while whispering in her ear.
He then put both his hands on the back of her head and kissed her on the mouth.
Hermoso was asked about the embrace after the match by Spanish TV station La 1 and, appearing somewhat uncomfortable, told them: 'Eh... yeah, I did not enjoy that.'
She said the same thing when asked on a live stream on her Instagram from Spain's dressing rooms.
Footage of the kiss has gone viral online since it was seen on air, with some supporters hugely critical of Rubiales' behavior.
One infuriated fan said: 'The behavior of Rubiales on that podium was grim. Highly inappropriate!'
Another added: 'This is just awful, there’s absolutely nothing justifying Rubiales behavior.'
A further angry individual highlighted their disdain at the attitude of a senior figure in Spanish football. They said: 'The concerning fact here is the nonchalant manner Rubiales behaves towards Hermoso. The FA president does this on the biggest stage of the sport with royalty and officials near him, surrounded by cameras. Very disturbing, and frankly, concerning.'
Hermoso, 33, is one of the world's most famous players in women's football and has had a career spanning nearly two decades.
She was successful at top Spanish football clubs Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Rayo Vallecano and Hermoso has also played for prestigious European teams, Swedish team Tyreso, and Paris Saint-German.
She currently plays for Pachuca, a Mexican team.
Over her career, Hermoso has won seven Spanish league titles with their separate clubs as well as eight club trophies.
She played for Barcelona when the team won the 2021 Champions League.
Queen Letizia of Spain couldn't resist joining in with her team's celebrations after they won the women's World Cup final today.
The glamorous royal, 50, dressed in a scarlet trouser suit (in honor of her team the Rojas - which means red), was filmed jumping for joy with her daughter Infanta Sofía, 16, alongside the triumphant footballer players.
Before kick-off, Letizia, who traveled to Sydney to cheer on the squad, said: 'It's a joy and it's exciting to be here to support the Spanish Football team. They are already champions.'
Indeed, after winning the tense match, which ended 1-0 in Spain's favor, the team were true world champions, and they celebrated in style, dancing on the pitch - with even the Spanish Queen joining in, as she jumped and pumped her fist into the air.
But while the Spanish team's efforts (and ultimately victory) were keenly watched by the country's royals, no member of the British Royal Family went to Australia to cheer on the Lionesses.
Spain secured a final 1-0 victory in Sydney on Sunday, following Olga Carmona's first-half goal, however, Sarina Wiegman's side still achieved a best-ever second-place finish.
Crying players were consoled on the pitch in Australia after suffering the agonizing defeat, but having inspired millions of fans to tune in up and down the country.
The Lionesses, ultimately sunk by Olga Carmona's first-half strike, were given a lifeline when Mary Earps - who won the Golden Glove award for the tournament's best goalkeeper - made a terrific penalty save.

Mary Earps Shouts to Spain after Making a Heroic Penalty Save in World Cup Final to Keep in the Game
England fans on Twitter have been gushing about Mary Earps' fearless attitude - after the Lionesses keeper saved Jennifer Hermoso's penalty and promptly shouted...
The heroic save came at a critical juncture in the game, with England 1-0 down in the 69th minute against Spain.
Earps dived expertly to her left to save the spot kick and immediately got up and began swearing, waving her team up the pitch.
'Mary Earps' gigantic on-screen "fuck off" is a seminal moment in women's sporting equality,' one fan claimed.
'Absolutely adore Mary Earps' full commitment to crazy goalkeeper energy,' chimed in another.
'Well, Mary Earps is now my favorite Footballer!! Not just that save but the reaction after was AMAZING!! COME ON 'another tweeted.
Another supporter wrote: 'Literally here for absolutely everything about the footballer Mary Earps is!!!'
Chris Bright, an international futsal player, had simple words to describe a fellow lover of the beautiful game: 'Mary Earps is unbelievable'.

PSG' Kylian Mbappe Yells 'I am Staying Here' after Scoring on his Return to the Team amid Interest
PSG star Kylian Mbappe yells 'I am staying here' after scoring on his return to the team amid interest from Real Madrid and Saudi Arabia. Kylian Mbappe appeared to confirm his intention to stay at Paris Saint-Germain after scoring on his return to the side.
The French superstar came off the bench and scored from the penalty spot as Luis Enrique's side were held to a 1-1 draw by Toulouse.
Mbappe jumped over the advertising boards in delight and celebrated in front of PSG fans before screaming 'I am staying here, I am staying here.'
Mbappe wasn't included in the squad for PSG's goalless draw with Lorient on the opening day of the season amid uncertainty over his future at the club.
The striker had been made to train with the club's 'undesirables' away from the main group after refusing to sign a contract extension, with his current deal having less than a year remaining.
Mbappe didn't take part in PSG's pre-season tour of Asia and there had been suggestions that he would be made to stay away from the main group for the foreseeable future.
His shirts were also removed from the club shop, as the hierarchy in Paris attempted to force the 24-year-old to accept a permanent deal or loan move that would see the club get some return on their key asset.
However, he was back in first-team training last weekend and made his first appearance of the season on Saturday night.
Earlier this summer Mbappe turned down the chance to join Al-Hilal after the Saudi Arabian side made a world record bid of £259million.
There have been suggestions that Mbappe could join Real Madrid as a free agent next summer, with PSG eager to avoid such a scenario so that they can receive a significant fee for him.
After 'positive discussions', the French superstar is back in the fold although his future at the club remains in doubt with Real Madrid reportedly set to launch a bid for the striker.

Billy Vunipola is Shown Red card in England' Defeat against Ireland for a Dangerous Tackle on Porter
Billy Vunipola was sent off in England's defeat against Ireland on Saturday after having an initial yellow card upgraded to a red following a review.
The England forward was involved in a 53rd minute clash with Ireland's Andrew Porter as he lead with his shoulder while attempting to tackle.
Vunipola's right shoulder connected with Porter's head as the Irishman tried to break through England's defence.
On-field referee Paul Williams initially showed the 30-year-old a red card that placed the England star in the sin bin while play resumed.
Ireland would add another try through James Lowe in his absence before Vunipola was permanently removed from proceedings after a review.
Producing the red card that ensured Steve Borthwick's side with 10-man was ruled by officials explaining there was a 'high degree of danger and no mitigation.'
#Vunipola could now miss part of England's Rugby World Cup campaign, which gets started against Argentina on September 9, with a hearing set to take place.
The incident comes just a week after Owen Farrell had his red card for a similar tackle against Wales rescinded at a disciplinary hearing.
However, the England skipper will attend an independent appeal hearing about the incident on Tuesday.
Vunipola's team-mate and captain for the contest in Ireland, Courtney Lawes, attempted to explain the red card after the match and labeled the tackle as a 'split-second' decision.
Lawes told Amazon Prime Sport: 'People aren't doing this on purpose you know, it's not a question of we need to tackle lower, split-second decisions, things happen, people want to get on the front-foot and unfortunately mistakes like that happen and it will continue to be part and parcel of the game unfortunately.
'The only thing you can do is do your best to get on with it, don't let it get your head down, regardless of what happened we found ourselves under stick way more than we wanted to but always positive messages and on to the next job.
'I don't want to comment on it at the minute, we have to try and make the sport safer and that's why sanctions like this are in place and we got a red card for it today.
'What more can you do? We aren't trying to hurt each other, split-second decision, sometimes mistakes happen.'

Lisandro Martinez Kick Starts Yet another Fight after a Crunching Tackle on Jude Bellingham
Lisandro Martinez kick-starts yet another fight after a crunching tackle on Jude Bellingham.
The Argentinian copped a yellow card after a brutal two-footed challenge left Real Madrid’s newest signing flattened.
The Madrid players didn’t take too kindly to the challenge with the players quickly coming to the aid of their new teammate.
A bit of push-and-shove proceeded following the challenge as the World Cup winner copped a booking from the referee.
The midfielder jumped up immediately following the challenge and the referee did well to calm down the matter.

US Women Spark Fury with ANOTHER Listless Rendition of The Star Spangled Banner at World Cup
The US Women's soccer team gave another uninspiring performance of their national anthem before their World Cup game against Holland on Wednesday.
Only six players held their hands to their chest when The Star-Spangled Banner was playing and not all of them were singing.
Those who did - such as Alex Morgan, Julie Ertz, and Lindsey Horan - appeared to mumble the words rather than sing loudly along.
By comparison, the Dutch team sang proudly to their anthem, Wilhelmus, with the players wrapping their arms around each other before the game began in Wellington, New Zealand.
'All 11 Dutch women sang their anthem. Too bad we can't match them,' one fan said on Twitter.
Another supporter said: 'Why would you play for the USA but not even participate in the national anthem? Embarrassing and disrespectful.'
A different fan wrote: Thank you USWNT players: Julie Ertz, Alyssa Naeher, and Lindsey Horan for being proud of your country & representing it well by singing the national anthem at the World Cup.
Shame on the rest of you...'
It comes after the opening game against Vietnam last Friday, where six of the 11 starting players opted against placing their hands over their hearts, instead keeping their arms at their sides or behind their backs.
Meanwhile, five others did put their hands on their hearts, including three — Julie Ertz, Alyssa Naeher, and Lindsey Horan — who also sang the national anthem lyrics.
Critics have continued to keep an eye on the US women's behavior during the anthem after former team captain Megan Rapinoe knelt in protest of racist police brutality beginning in 2016.
Rapinoe, now playing in her final World Cup, also said in 2019 that she would 'never put my hand over my heart' and 'never sing the national anthem again.'
Rapinoe is not in the starting lineup for this game - she is instead named as a substitute.
All but one player knelt in protest before a 2021 game against Australia, but the team was falsely accused of turning its back on the flag and a World War II veteran before another game that year.
The reigning World Cup champions were seen standing at attention before their 4-0 Olympic sendoff win in Hartford, Connecticut in July of 2021 as 98-year-old Pete DuPré played a rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner.
This USA team is bidding for soccer history - looking to become the first team in the men's and women's games to win the World Cup in three straight tournaments.
The game itself finished in a 1-1 tie. Holland went ahead in the 17th minute through Jill Roord before Lindsey Horan's bullet header in the 62nd got the USA back level.
From there, the US looked more likely to win the game but the team failed to find a decisive goal.

Lionel Messi Appears to Gesture Towards David Beckham with a 'Hold My Beer' Celebration
Lionel Messi appeared to share a moving celebration with Inter Miami president David Beckham after he opened the scoring in their 4-0 win over Atalanta United - gesturing to the ex-England captain with his hand.
The Argentinean superstar scored twice in the thumping victory as he made his first start for his new MLS club - and he wasted no time in making an impression on the game.
Just eight minutes in Sergio Busquets a ball over the top, which Messi latched onto, and after his first effort hit the post, finished the rebound to open the scoring.
Messi celebrated with his team-mates - but then appeared to single out Beckham in the stands in what looked like an inside joke between the pair.
As Messi finished enjoying the moment with his teammates, the Argentine made his familiar point-to-the-sky gesture with his hands before sharing a special moment with Beckham.
Smiling directly at Beckham, Messi appeared to make a 'hold my beer' type motion as he and the familiar face watching grinned and laughed together.
As Messi directed his gesture - which some have also compared so something similar to a pose from The Avengers franchise - the club president stood up and applauded his newest signing.
Messi didn't stop there though, the World Cup winner doubled Inter's lead just after the twenty-minute mark, much to the delight of his new American fanbase.
Arriving into the box to meet Robert Taylor's cross to net his second of the game, as Miami went on to win the game 4-0.
The forward's brace comes just a game after his debut, where in typical Messi fashion he marked with another memorable moment to add to his glittering career CV.
Coming off the bench to score an injury-time free-kick to see his new club beat Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.
Messi lasted 78 minutes of the win over Atalanta, and will now get set to make his MLS debut when Miami takes on Charlotte this weekend.

Wrexham's Paul Mullin was Hospitalized with PUNCTURED LUNG after a Brutal Collision with Goalkeeper
Wrexham's Paul Mullin hospitalized with a PUNCTURED LUNG after a brutal collision with Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop left him needing oxygen on the field
The ESPN broadcast between the two UK clubs revealed the goal scorer was going to be officially checked out at a San Diego hospital after the brutal collision with Bishop.
And Wrexham coach Phil Parkinson confirmed the bad news about his top Goalscorer after the game.
Both were attempting to reach the ball first at the edge of the penalty area before Bishop bumped into Mullin's kidney region.
The 28-year-old rolled in agony before Wrexham medics came to his aid. Naturally, he was substituted from the game.
Scarily, he stayed down for around eight minutes - and ultimately sat back up after using an oxygen mask.
A stretcher and a cart were sent out to Mullin, but he opted to walk off with assistance from medics and the oxygen mask hanging around his neck.
While the extent of the injury is not yet known, there is concern as to whether Mullin will be fit for the club's League Two opener vs. MK Dons on August 5.

Brazil Score STUNNING Team Goal at Women's World Cup as Beatriz Zaneratto Slots Home after Backheel
Brazil began their bid to win a first Women's World Cup in jaw-dropping fashion after scoring a sublime third goal in their 4-0 victory against Panama.
After initially struggling to find their stride in their Group F opener, Pia Sundhage's heavyweights burst into life in the second half and netted after a breathtaking move.
Within three minutes of the restart, Kerolin and Debinha combined sharply, allowing time and space for the latter to bend an inviting delivery toward Ary Borges.
Borges, who had scored both first-half goals and looked poised to seal her hat-trick, then unselfishly laid off for Bia Zaneretto to fire into the roof of the net.
With their opponents having been sliced open, Brazil's samba style shone through.
Indeed, Borges later scored a third goal to take home the match ball on 70 minutes.
Again, Brazil worked the ball down the left, with Borges meeting Geyse's cross and steering a neat, stooping header through the legs of goalkeeper Yenith Bailey.
There was even time for all-time great Marta to be introduced, marking her first appearance at her sixth World Cup, for the final 15 minutes of the one-sided affair.
At the final whistle, the world's eighth-ranked team had secured their biggest opening win at a Women's World Cup since 2007 and moved two points clear.
And unsurprisingly, the manner of the third goal left viewers stunned.
'What a stunning team goal,' one user said on Twitter.
Another simply posted: 'Utterly sublime.'
A third added: 'A treat to watch!'
'This goal is incredible,' a fourth user wrote.
A fifth, meanwhile, described the flowing move and goal as 'art'.
