Travel Diary - 20 December, 2020
With our recently acquired Land Rover Defender, we decided to take an afternoon off with some friends as they led us to an old colonial outpost - the full name of which is racially offensive - close to our home village in the wild Eastern Cape, South Africa.
A great way to end 2020.

Welcome to Fort K Drift:
"This fort, commenced in 1815, was used during the Frontier Wars of 1819 and 1834, and burned down in 1835. It was rebuilt and re-occupied under field-captain Thomas Bowker of the Grahamstown Levy in the Frontier War of 1846. It became a station of the Frontier Armed and Mounted Police in 1863."

4x4 Fun in the Mud - Mercedes ML270
What an opportunity to see the W163's All Wheel Drive working - what an underrated off-road vehicle!!
July 2017:
The first rains we've had after a long drought - we just HAD to go out and do everything we could to enjoy it!
Taking our newly acquired Mercedes ML270, shod with Michelin LTX AT2 tyres pumped hard, we went for a casual drive around our South African village, Bathurst, and happened upon this very slippery hill.
