Speed Round and Future Goals - Kootenai County Legislator Town Hall - 4/27/24
All the legislators were asked to raise their hand if they agreed with the following questions:
- Do you agree with Crapo and Risch on approving aid to Ukraine?
- Do you believe the greater Idaho movement should continue?
- Do you agree that something should be done about bills not being given a hearing during the legislative session?
- Do you think Governor Little is receptive to conservative bills?
- Do.you think legislation could be introduced where people who needed blood could get unvaccinated blood?
- Is the Idaho Freedom Foundation scores the main way to determine a legislators effectiveness?
Each legislator then was given one minute to discuss what they would like to accomplish in the next legislative session.
This is video from the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee hosted a Kootenai County Legislator Town Hall on 4/27/24.

Kootenai County Commissioner Chris Fillios - "The Constitution"
Optional Forms of Government Interview
"Some people don't like the idea of us (the commissioners) being able to fire the Sheriff (if appointed). Fillios then mentions the Constitution and makes the quotation sign with his hands.
Really?
The Constitution is more than just standing up to the federal government. The Sheriff of a county is a check against other elected officials like County Commissioners.

Democrats Support Reasonable Republicans?
"...there are democrats getting other democrats to register Republican, and ask Democrats to outreach to reasonable Republicans. A good example of where is this needed is in Legislative District 1 where there is a large majority of conservative voters."
"We are estimating that there are 12 races in the Republican primary that will come down to 1000 votes based on historical data."
Are the democrats supporting Woodward and Dixon in Legislative District 1?

Hayden City Councilman Saterfiel Bias - 2022
At the April 14th meeting of the Hayden City Council, Councilman Saterfiel expressed that he didn't think the City Council could make an unbiased decision regarding who would be picked for mayor. He wouldn't admit that he has bias.
My concern is that he wants a committee to pick the mayor or the governor. Not the elected officials voted in by the residents of Hayden. This sounds similar to what has been going on at North Idaho College with their trustees.

Chad - Public Comment NIC Board of Trustee Meeting - 12/21/22
Chad asked a great question at the Dec 21st meeting of the North Idaho College Board of Trustees. He asked what is the charter or purpose of the Board of Trustees.
From the NIC webpage:
North Idaho College is governed by a volunteer five-member board of trustees who are elected at large from within Kootenai County for staggered, four-year terms. Trustees derive their authority from and hold office in accordance with Idaho Code.
The responsibilities of the board of trustees are outlined in policy #02.01.02 of the North Idaho College Policy Manual, and include the following:
To determine the broad general policies which govern the operation of the college district.
To select and appoint the president of the college who is responsible for the general administration and implementation of board policies in the ongoing operations of the college.
To approve annual budgets.

Electing Chair and Vice Chair of the Board - CLN Board of Trustees Meeting - 6/15/23
Discussion on the electing of Chair and Vice Chair of the Community Library Board of Trustees. Trustee Robinson gave a report that she was asked to give.
Robinson is shocked that the slate she recommended is not agreed to. It is interesting that Robinson thinks that "experts" need to be in charge. Why does Robinson think that the board will fall apart if her recommended slate is not followed? Why did Robinson say, "absolute not", when voting no on Ottosen for chair. That comes across as juvenile and rude.
