Bits of Torah Truths - Yeshua Used the Torah to Establish Justice in Judgment - Episode 35
John 7:24
Here in John 7:24 Yeshua taught us to judge righteously citing the Torah according to Vayikra / Leviticus 19:15. What Yeshua is teaching us is that we should not judge people based on their outward appearance or social status but rather on their character and actions. This truth is valid even today illustrating how the Torah has not passed away!

John 7:22–23
Here is a continuation of the argument over Yeshua healing on the shabbat. Here in John 7:22-23 Yeshua used the command for circumcision to justify his interpretation of the Shabbat.

John 7:19
The Torah defines murder stating you shall not murder in the ten commandments. Here Yeshua knew their intentions and wanted to kill him. Here in John 7:19 Yeshua used the Torah to defend Himself. Note that we still use these verses today indicating how the Torah had not passed away!

Bits of Torah Truths - Yeshua Healed a Lame Man on the Sabbath - Episode 32
John 5:8–9
Here in John 5:8 Yeshua healed a lame man on the Shabbat. The Pharisees objected to the healing of the man because it was done on the Sabbath day. However, as we had stated previously, doing good on the Shabbat is a Torah centric principle valid even today! The Torah has not passed away!

Bits of Torah Truths - Grace is not permission to violate the Torah and sin - Episode 69
Romans 6:15
Romans 6:15
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. (KJV)
Here Paul uses a technical term saying, שֶׁאֵין אָנוּ תַּחַת יַד הַתּוֹרָה " we are not under the Torah" which means that we are not judged guilty due to sin because of what Yeshua Did for us. Our forgiveness is due to Yeshua and the mercy and grace of God. I so Paul says though we are not judged guilty this does not mean we have permission to sin. Romans 6:15 Grace is not permission to sin.

Bits of Torah Truths - Through the Torah, the Messiah’s Grace was Made Known - Episode 30
John 1:17
Here in John 1:17 we read something very significant. The Torah is the foundation of Jewish faith and is considered the most important document in Judaism. The Torah contains the laws and teachings that God gave to Moshe on Mount Sinai. The Messiah is also a central figure in Jewish tradition and is believed to be a descendant of King David. We note that Yeshua meets this criteria. In fact, it is through the teachings and actions of the Messiah in his obedience to the Torah that reveals to us God's grace and mercy. This is how John could write that grace came through Yeshua the Christ!

Bits of Torah Truths - Prophecy and Torah Fulfilled - Episode 29
Luke 24:44–45
We note a few significant things about Luke 24:44-45. Here Yeshua speaks of what he did dying upon the cross as a fulfillment of the Torah and the prophets. The significance of Luke 24:45 is how the disciples needed Yeshua to enable them to understand these things. If you are trying to figure out how Yeshua fulfilled the Torah and the Prophets these verses show us how we need faith in Yeshua first I order to understand these things. This illustrates how faith always comes first!

Bits of Torah Truths - Faith does Not Make Void the Torah - Episode 68
Romans 3:31
Romans 3:31
31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (KJV)
Here Paul is making the case for salvation by faith and not by works. The major point is that the Torah was not given for man to earn his salvation. Paul makes his case and then asks in Romans 3:31 does Faith make void the Torah? His conclusion is a resounding No, we establish the Torah by our faith! Therefore, the Torah has not passed away!

Luke 16:17
Here in Luke 16:17 we read a very significant statement. Yeshua says that it is easier for heaven & earth to pass away than for the Torah to pass away. We note the reference to Isaiah 40:8 that states how the word of God is established forever. This again demonstrates for us how all of God's word is eternal and how the Torah has not passed away!

Here in Luke 16:16 Yeshua used Torah and the Prophets to show who John the Baptist is and speak of how the kingdom of God was preached. Notice verse 17, it days that it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than the Torah. Essentially He is saying the Torah has not passed away!

Bits of Torah Truths - Paul Taught the Torah in the Book of Romans - Episode 67
Romans 2:13
Romans 2:13
13 For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. (KJV)
We note here how Paul uses the Torah while teaching according to Romans 2:13. Paul states that those who do the Torah and not just hear it are considered justified. Also note the word הַמְקַיְּמִים used to describe the one who "does" the command, is one who "establishes" the commands in his or her life. The Torah has not passed away.

Bits of Torah Truths - Paul is Teaching from the Torah in Romans 2:12 - Episode 66
Romans 2:12
Romans 2:12
12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (KJV)
A few things to comment about the context, here sin and perishing are mentioned, and with or without the law, the point paul is making is that because of sin one will perish, whether one knows what the Torah says, or one doesnt know what the Torah says. Take Leviticus 5:17 as an example, one is guilty even if he doesnt know what the Torah says. That is Paul's point, Paul is using Leviticus 5:17. Also, it is important to note that sin is not defined whether one knows he has sinned or not. Sin is defined in the Torah, so whether one knows or not he will perish because sin. The Word of God is eternal (Isaiah 40:8)

Here in Luke 14:3-6, Yeshua taught the importance of preserving life on the Shabbat. We note how Luke 14:6 states that they couldn't answer him. The reason is, of course we are supposed to do good and not evil, to do what is right and not wickedness. The obviousness of these things reveals how the Torah has not passed away!

Here Yeshua taught the importance of having compassion towards others. Mercy and grace towards others is the weightiest. The parable of the good Samaritan on loving your neighbor is a Torah centric principle! The Torah has not passed away!

Bits of Torah Truths - Paul Taught the Torah in the Book of Romans - Episode 65
We note glancing at Romans 2, we see how often Paul refers to the Torah in his text to the believers in Rome. Here in just 4 verses, he mentions the Torah 11 times. The point is that Paul taught about the Torah, and believed it was valid for the life of the believers (Romans 3:31). The Torah has not passed away.

Bits of Torah Truths - Yeshua Encouraged Torah Observance - Episode 24
Luke 10:26–29
We note the line of questions Yeshua asked. He encouraged Torah observance by elevating the weightier commandments. The weightiest are to love the Lord God our Father in heaven and to love our neighbor as ourself.

Bits of Torah Truths - Yeshua's Custom was to Attend Synagogue on Shabbat - Episode 23
Luke 4:16

What is significant about this passage us how it was Yeshua’s custom to attend Synagogue on the Sabbath day not Sunday. This text sets the standard for the sabbath day, it is the seventh day according to the Bible (Saturday).

Bits of Torah Truths - Paul Taught the Torah and Prophets to People - Episode 64
Acts 28:23
Acts 28:23
23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. (KJV)
Here in Acts 28:23 we read explicitly how Paul taught people the Torah and the Prophets. A further point is that Paul uses the Torah and the Prophets to prove that Yeshua is the Messiah sent by God. These things reveal the importance of the Torah and the Prophets for understanding who Yeshua is!

Here in Luke 2:24 Yeshua's parents brought the offering before God as the Torah of Moshe had prescribed. Here demonstrates how they were faithful to the Lord in these things. The Torah is important for being Faithful to God!

Bits of Torah Truths - Yeshua was Presented to HaShem as the First Born - Episode 21
Exodus 34:19–20
Luke 2:22–23
22 And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; 23 (As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) (KJV)
Here in Luke 2:22-39 we read how Yeshua's parents obeyed the Torah command, following the days of purification they presented Yeshua before the Lord as first born and brought the appropriate sacrifices. Notice how often the Torah is mentioned throughout the NT text.
