I never really realized the power in the words we speak. The Scripture teaches us that words have an undefined power. After all God spoke us into existence! But it never occurred to me the significance of the spoken word. I have always known that the Bible said that “God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” Even the small school children are taught the lesson of creation. It was not until I heard a sermon about the power of the tongue that, for me, the concept was realized.

So what is life? Culturally we regard human life like it is just another commodity to be manipulated and traded to our own benefit. Like somehow our needs outweigh all other considerations. Throughout time mankind has killed one another for money, for power, for territory and unfortunately sometimes just for entertainment. As a culture we have lost sight of some of the ultimate truths that have existed since the beginning. Human life has value…

All Christians are familiar with the Biblical directive from the Ten Commandments EXODUS 20:3 which states “THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME”. However, what some are not as familiar with is what exactly that could mean to you and I.
