Building The Great Wall Hobby 1/48 Scale TBD-1 Devastator Torpedo Bomber
In this 35th model build video for the channel, we’ll construct, paint, and detail a 1/48th scale Douglas TBD-1 Devastator torpedo bomber from Great Wall Hobby - Kit #L4809. During this episode we will also provide information, images, and video clips concerning the Devastator squadrons of VT-3, VT-6, and VT-8 as well as some of the men from these units.
We’ll revisit the Devastator in the future (Project #38) with a different model manufacturer and concentrate solely on the Torpedo Squadron 8 (VT-8) from the USS Hornet in 1942 in that installment.

Cashing in My Spare Change II: “Tons-of-Coins-athon” Plus trivial trivia
In this uncommon video for the channel, we cash in a large can full of coins that have accumulated over the past 3 years. We look at a few of the coins in detail and some additional trivia associated with U.S. coins in general. Later, we cash them in at a local Coinstar machine. Can you guess the total cash amount before it is all tabulated?

In this 4th model ship build for the channel, we construct, paint and detail the World War I era Austro-Hungarian dreadnought SMS Viribus Unitis 1/350 scale model kit by Trumpeter Item No: 05364.
This vessel was the first in the world to ever sport triple mounted main gun turrets. It also transported Archduke Ferdinand and his wife Sophie during official functions as well as carry their bodies after their lives were taken – starting World War I.
This video could not have been made without the generous contributions of information from Naval Historian Andrew W. Wilkie of British Columbia, Canada.

Building the MPC 22 inch long “Eagle” Transporter from Space: 1999
In this 31st amateur model build, we’ll take on the Eagle transporter model from the TV Series Space: 1999. We construct, paint, and weather one of the best Science Fiction spacecraft designs of all time from a set manufactured by MPC -- kit number MPC825.
2022 was a personally devastating year for me with the loss of Mooch and then Sophie soon after. I probably shouldn’t have attempted a model build as I lacked the focus necessary to do the best job that I could. Thus, some imperfections are present…

Building the Revell 1/48 Scale SR-71 Blackbird Strategic Reconnaissance Aircraft
In this video we construct, paint, and detail this latest release and very large 1/48 scale plastic model of the iconic SR-71 Blackbird strategic reconnaissance, high speed, high altitude spy plane -- Revell model kit #04967. At the point that the model was about 70% complete and the video at 40%, I lost my doggie, Mooch, due to a freak accident and very cruel twist of fate. I nearly shelved this project permanently, but 3 weeks later I decided to push on in his honor. However, the original zest I had was understandably lacking and the overall final result suffered.

Building the Trumpeter 1/48 scale T-38A Talon to Honor Major C.W. “Mover” Lemoine
In this video, we’ll be building the T-38A Talon in the style of Tyndall AFB’s 2nd Fighter Training Squadron’s paint scheme in honor of fighter pilot Major C.W. “Mover” Lemoine. He flew these jets as part of the 301st – a Red Air Aggressor unit to train F-22 Raptor pilots on BFM tactics. We’ll be trying new techniques of gloss coating a model with household floor wax, working with aftermarket resin parts for the first time on this channel, some scratch building, and creating custom emblems.
Many thanks to “Mover” for the Intro!!
I’m a big fan of this gentleman and I hope you become one too, if you’re not already. Major C. W. “Mover” Lemoine has his own popular YouTube channel that discusses his aviation career flying F-16 Vipers, F/A-18 Hornets, T-38s, helicopters, his fictional books, as well as many other subjects too numerous to mention. He has many different interests, so check him out.

Building the Kinetic 1/48 scale E-2C Hawkeye Airborne Early Warning Aircraft
In this video we’ll be working on Kinetic kit #48013 -- a 1/48 scale U.S. Navy E-2C Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft assigned to the VAW-112 “Golden Eagles” and based off the carrier U.S.S. Nimitz (CVN-68) in 1995 at the time. The aircraft’s outside is colored in the high visibility paint layout instead of the usual flat and subdued military exterior schemes. Pre-shading lines, detailing and painting along with background information is presented in this video build.
This kit proved the most difficult to date for the channel due to numerous fit issues and other kit problems.

Building the Hasegawa 1/48 scale AH-64D Apache Longbow Attack Helicopter

Creating Paper Templates for Camouflage Airbrushing: A Simple Guide
In this short video, we’ll be going through the process I use to create my floating paper templates as a guide in airbrushing camouflage patterns on models. This technique can also be employed to determine dimensions for custom decals and scratch building parts. A pencil, a calculator, and simple measurements from a ruler as well as a photo copier or computer printer are all that are required.
After two sets of examples, you’ll have an opportunity to try the method yourself with a given set of measurements from a model airplane instruction manual.

Building the Hobby Boss 1/48th Scale Su-27 Flanker B with three color Camouflage
This video documents the building of the Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker B Fighter Jet -- Hobby Boss Kit #81711. Methods of construction, weathering, airbrushing, detailing, custom mask camouflage templates techniques and information about the Su-27 are related within this episode.
This installment was originally uploaded to the internet on August 01, 2018. This video has been altered from that version due to unexpected copyright claims on three Russian Folk songs that had been identified to me as Public Domain when I chose them. I have dubbed over these tracks.

World War II Aircraft “Wings of Freedom” Tour Arizona 2016
This video contains footage I shot of World War II aircraft operated by the Collins Foundation when it visited Avra Valley Airport in Arizona in 2016.
This includes extensive “film” of the Boeing B-17G known as “Nine-O-Nine” which later crashed on October 02, 2019 in Connecticut with 7 fatalities and the complete loss of the aircraft.
I’ve decided to re-upload this material in light of the recent release (December 2020) of the NTSB Factual Report on that accident.
Also seen near the beginning of this video is the primary pilot (Mac McCauley) of the future mishap flight. He was one of those killed in 2019.
The imagery seen in part leaves behind a legacy of this particular aircraft during her historical glory days of flying.
Aircraft seen: B-17G Superfortress "Nine-O-Nine"
B-24J Liberator "Witchcraft"
B-25 Mitchell "Tondelayo"
P-51C Mustang "Betty Jane"

Just a short video of me sorting and cashing in my spare change collected over many years at a Coin Star machine at my local super market. Try to guess how much it all comes out to in total!

Building the Revell 1/144 Scale Boeing 747-8 in a custom Shagadelic Style Paint Pattern
In this video we convert a Revell 747-8 kit #RMG3891 into an Austin Powers psychedelic style exterior 747 using images from the movies. This involves creating custom templates and masks to create the patterns using measurements of the model & illustrations, the Photoscape X software program, and enlargements of movie screen shots to guide airbrushing similar designs on the model using Vallejo paints.
