PLEASE NOTE
The edit was designed for the modules:
Luka - After School Mode
Kaito - School Uniform Parka
You can change these modules to whatever you desire, but keep in mind that because certain animations and camera angles are very specific, they may not work with other modules . For example, trying to use a Rin/Len combination will not work very well since both are shorter than the edit's original intended modules and they will appear in many scenes as being truncated in the camera frame. This can be overcome, however, if you know how to work with the editor and adjust the camera angles/animations accordingly. This is one of the main drawbacks of using explicit camera angles and motions in an edit.
THE EDIT
This edit is dedicated to anyone who's been in the situation of being in love and has been afraid to express it, which is about 99.9% of the human race.
Along with the original PV's associated to this song, I derived my inspiration from another edit I found on NND that I greatly admired; one that doesn't receive the recognition it deserves; "A Loving Robot". The Editor who created it did such a fantastic job that you almost don't need the lyrics to know what's going on. Although my style of editing is a bit different, I was attempting to achieve the same thing.
In "A Loving Robot" Rin is on the attack and aggressive, hunting down Len with every intention of making him submit. In "I Like You, I Love You" Rin is depicted as the exact opposite; shy, naive, and clueless. But both songs have one thing in common; Rin wants to get her man!
When I heard MJQ's VSQ cover version with Luka on lead vocal, finding that they were in English, and then finding that it was Rockleetist who translated it and who also made her own cover, well, it was just too much to resist. As I listened to the song while actually being able to understand the lyrics, all sorts of visual ideas flooded into my head. But Luka is usually depicted as the more "adult" of the vocaloids, so my challenge was trying to give her that shy, naive, school-girl persona; a girl who's still finding out about love and doesn't know how to handle it. I hope it's convincing enough, but I leave that up to you the viewer.
This project has probably been the most labor intensive of any single edit I've done to date, taking a good 2 months to create. I was overlapping the work of this edit with my last one, hopping back and forth between them depending on what mood I was in. But with the amount of detail I poured into every track's nuance, it became quite daunting, especially without having the use of multiple object selection/manipulation and no "undo" feature, which are some of the biggest short-comings of the Project DIVA F editor.
Feel free to leave any comments or feedback and it will make my day, even if it's constructive criticism.
Cheers and enjoy!

Project DIVA F 2nd PV Edit- ダンサーインザダーク Dancer in the Dark by fatmanP ft Megurine Luka - 5th Anniversary Edition

It was 5 years since I created the original Project DIVA PV in Dreamy Theater 2nd. And I remember committing to creating a 5th anniversary edition in PDF2nd.
This version is a post-production PV of the gameplay version which is available for download from the Project DIVA F 2nd network.
Many thanks to dappleback who helped implant the concept of the original PV in my head allowing me to make it come to life.

Dreamy Theater 2nd - ダンサーインザダーク Dancer in the Dark ft Megurine Luka by fatmanP- 60fps Recapture
10th Anniversary!
• Title: Dancer in the Dark
• Vocals: Megurine Luka
• Music/Lyrics: fatmanP
• PV: xtokashx
In 2011 YouTube was not yet supporting 60fps. Because of this, I rendered Dancer in the Dark at 29.97 fps even though the source output and capture was at 59.94fps.
For its 10th anniversary I decided to recapture and re-render Dancer in the Dark at the original (and intended) fps of 59.94 as well as fix the interpolation. This resulted in a cleaner, smoother look and is the way I would have posted it had YouTube supported 60fps back in the day.
I know some people will say they still like the original or perhaps they can't really tell the difference from the original and that's perfectly fine. Like George Lucas, I'll go back and monkey with my original work to create something new but unlike George Lucas I'll still keep the original work available for everyone. xP
Enjoy!

Project DIVA F - Working for the Weekender Girl ft Hatsune Miku - PV Edit by xtokashx
• PV: Weekender Girl
• Song: Working for the Weekend
• Music & Lyrics: Loverboy
• PV Edit: xtokashx
I don't know why, but whenever I heard the title "Weekender Girl" I always thought of the song "Working for the Weekend". So one day, I thought it would be fun to layer the "Weekender Girl" PV with Loverboy's song to see how well they synced.
Well look at that! My gosh, the PV had a hidden dual meaning!
I call this concoction "Working for the Weekender Girl"!

Dreamy Theater 2nd - Change Me (off-vocal) by shu-t ft Megurine Luka - Post-editing by xtokashx
In my uploading of Dreamy Theater 2nd titles I've missed, I decided to do something a little different with something familiar. My inspiration for this project comes from one of the more popular sequences I've made; the silhouette of Luka dancing in front of the moon in "Dancer in the Dark". It seems I've had more comments and messages about that sequence than any other, often with a hint of "more, more".
Watching the sultry choreography of "Change Me" made me think of Luka dancing to it as a silhouette...and better yet, have some poor spotlight guy (me) try to keep up with her moves. XD I also played with adding some sparkly bling to Luka's bikini, giving her a unique look not seen in any Project DIVA game. For the music, I went with the off-vocal version since I couldn't find a decent version of Luka singing it.
The final result is this in-game PV with some heavy post-production editing.
This was very much an experiment and looking back, I probably wouldn't do it again as the results still look unfinished for the amount of work it took. With so many quick cuts in the PV (there are over 150), continuity was the biggest challenge in making the spotlight effect look like it smoothly transitioned from one scene to the next.
I could have indeed done more to it. But by the end I was ready to put it aside and felt a need to move on to other projects. So I apologize if this still looks incomplete and rough around the edges.
Please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions.
Cheers and enjoy!

I rarely take requests and in fact this is only the second time I made an edit from someone else's suggestion, but this song clicked for me and I could "feel" it before I started on it...which is important for me to be able to make a quality edit. So a big thank you to Triple G who was the one who offered up the suggestion for it.

Background:
I originally watched this Project DIVA 2nd edit on NND back in 2011. I was still a young beginning editor and this edit opened my eyes to new methods and techniques of manipulating camera and motion. To this day I admire it as a major influential factor in my own development and I want to extend a huge "thank you" to its creator, the master editor りろ.
I wanted to pay homage to Lilo (りろ) and her original edit by creating a converted version in Project DIVA F 2nd, keeping close to the original version with some minor differences. I then would invoke the more powerful features of PDF2nd by creating improved dynamic expressions and lip sync. Little did I know how much work this would all turn out to be...
There is no built-in edit transfer function that can be done from the original Project DIVA series of games to the F series. The editing software of each are not compatible with each other. Nor was there any hacking to the edit files involved. This new edit had to be re-created from the ground up and totally from scratch. And because of the incompatibilities between the two editing programs, I couldn't just simply duplicate the placements verbatim the way they were in the original version. I had to get a bit creative in making the new version mimic the original using different techniques than the original. To help me, I referenced the original edit using the PSP as well as a visual playback capture to duplicate it as close as possible. This proved to be a daunting task, much more than I had planned. But the extra attention to detail seems to have paid off. And the obvious differences between the two versions are deliberate.
I also have the honor of n1tr0t0m's assistance once more. I asked him if he would be willing to re-create the original Extreme+ gameplay. He went far beyond my expectations, not only did he duplicate all 3 difficulties of the original gameplay (Hard, Extreme, Extreme+), he has also created his own versions. So a huge thank you to him for all his efforts and hard work!
Mysterious words in song:
For those of you wondering what the words at the beginning of the song are saying (and repeated again during the song), they are:
"We don't have enough data to call it alcohol abuse..."
"We have no way of knowing if these are the only two incidents that have ever occurred in the history of the astronaut corps or if they are the tip of a very large iceberg."
This had to do with an investigation back in 2007 of a couple incidents in NASA where astronauts were allowed to fly drunk...

How this relates to the song, I have no clue...

Project DIVA F 2nd - He's My Son by Mark Schultz ft Kaito Luka Len - PV Edit by xtokashx

Mark Schultz wrote this beautiful, inspirational, and powerful song back in 1998 for a friend whose 14 year old son, Martin Baird, was diagnosed with leukemia. In the latest interview I could find of Mark in 2007 regarding the song, he stated that Martin's cancer was in remission and he was attending college. Many have found inspiration and strength from this song as they have applied it to their own circumstances.
I created this Promotional Video edit using the PS3 game Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F 2nd editor and graphics engine. I wanted to see how far I could stretch the capabilities of the Project DIVA F 2nd editor in being able to convey some of the power the song portrays. I knew that if I could harness even a fraction of that power, it would go a long way to making something truly special in the visual presentation. My hope is that the visuals do justice to the awesome audio of Mark's music.
The edit is available for download and use through the Project DIVA F 2nd game network (North America / Europe version).

The Phantom Of The Opera feat. Hatsune Miku and Kaito - PV Edit by xtokashx
• Title: The Phantom Of The Opera
• Music: Andrew Lloyd Webber
• Lyrics: Charles Hart, Richard Stilgoe
• Instrumental Cover: Matthijs Koene
• Hatsune Miku V3 English and KAITO V3 English VSQX: METAx
• PV Edit: xtokashx
For this PV edit, it was my original intention to use the OST from the Broadway musical with the original cast of Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. But when I heard this version on METAx's Youtube channel, I knew I had to use it instead.
There are a number of vocaloid versions for Phantom of the Opera on Youtube. But I challenge anyone to find a better tuned version than METAx. The English is clear, the subtle human vocal inflections and natural pitch bending on attack and release, and the fact that Miku's voice sounds almost human and naturally operatic when she sings the "ahhh's" for the Phantom (Kaito) at the end is simply amazing and I've rarely heard finer and more realistic tuning in any other vocaloid song.
At first, I did wish the instrumental cover was different as the flute which carries the melody sometimes gets a bit loud and distracts from the awesome pitch tuning performance. But after I had listened to it over and over and over while making the PV, it grew on me and eventually I didn't even notice it as it blended in with everything else.
My hats off and thanks to METAx. Visit his channel and check out some of his other vocaloid productions as this isn't his only amazing work.

Project DIVA F 2nd - Lie by Circus-P feat. Megurine Luka - PV Edit by xtokashx
• Title: Lie
• Music: Circus-P
https://www.youtube.com/user/VocaCircus
• Software: Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd for the PS3 by SEGA / Crypton Future Media, Inc.
• PV Edit: xtokashx
Have you ever been in a relationship that was based on lies? I have, and there's nothing more hurtful and painful when you're lied to by someone you love, especially when you find out the ultimate lie, that the person you loved never really loved you at all in return.
Circus-P's masterpiece song "Lie", Mike Inel's masterpiece animation for it, as well as my own personal experience has given me inspiration for this edit.
The song is about Luka's relationship with Gumi as it's an extension/sequel to the song "I (Love)" also by Circus-P:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InxwGZ_PgC4
But in this PV, Luka is confused and in denial about the state of her relationship with Kaito and there is contention between them. On the surface is the lie Luka tells herself that everything is fine. But hidden in her heart is the truth.
PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT advocate suicide in any form. I use it here in this edit as a symbolic act of Luka ending her relationship with Kaito because of the guilt and blame she has caused herself due to her own dishonesty within the relationship. If you are having suicidal tendencies, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at: 1-800-273-8255
THANK YOU
• A big thanks and hugs to my friend and fellow collaborator ET13 who always supports my efforts and even helped out with a few seconds of one part of this edit where I was getting stumped.

Project DIVA F 2nd - The Visitors by ABBA ft Luka Len Kaito - PV Edit by xtokashx / Sofia Masteer
• Title: The Visitors
• Music & Lyrics: ABBA
• Album: The Visitors
• Project DIVA F 2nd PV Edit: xtokashx & Sofia Masteer
I had posted on Youtube (now deleted) a tutorial on how to lip sync using the beginning of the song "The Visitors" by ABBA. Since then it was my intention to create the PV in its entirety. Being busy with other projects and collaborations, it was difficult to find the time. However after much perseverance I'm happy to say it has been completed.
"The Visitors" was released in 1982 and was based on the theme of governments' mistreatment of political dissidents and the violation of citizens' human rights; specifically the then Soviet Union's imposition of Martial Law in Poland and even the US supported dictatorships in Chile and El Salvador. See wikipedia: https://tinyurl.com/y8br2ncg
Of course, we don't have to turn back the clock to see that this still happens today all over the world.
For this PV edit, I was privileged to again have the assistance of Sofia Masteer. She contributed several segments and helped instill the inspiration within me to go beyond what I have done in most other edits. The result is a marriage of sight and sound which is intended to draw the viewer into what is an otherworldly dream for some but a reality for many.

NOTES
This edit's been over 2 months in the making. Since Project DIVA F's release in English at the end of August, I've been working on unlocking the game and learning the new functionality of the editor.
What this editor has to offer is definitely ahead of the previous generations. After completing an edit all the way through, I can write a long review on the topic. But I will say that in my discovery of working with this new editor, I've found a number of items that greatly enhance the quality of the presentation. Likewise there have been a number of functions that were in the previous editors that have been removed or altered for the worse much to my disappointment. Overall however, it's definitely an improvement once you get used to its quirks.
But what holds this editor back from true greatness is its memory limitations. I'm astounded that the coding still uses the limits of the PSP's memory. With the PS Vita and PS3 there is no excuse for this. If the Project DIVA developers would lift this obstacle, edits could be more robust with so much more variety. I pushed the memory limitations to the brink with this edit, using 99% of it's capacity and turning the "Video" memory indicator red.
Regarding the song I used, no it's not vocaloid. But I thought it appropriate to bluntly introduce my first Project DIVA F edit using an English song as I am using the English version of the game. The game came to the West, so I'm gonna use it like a Westerner.
Other than inserting the titles at the beginning, I did absolutely no post production editing. Everything you see is exactly how it was captured from the Project DIVA F edit.
Enjoy and please feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Project DIVA F 2nd - Faster by Within Temptation ft Luka Miku Rin - PV Edit by xtokashx

Celebrating the English release of Project DIVA F 2nd, I created a new PV Edit.
Remember when MTV was truly a Music Television channel? I wanted to create another edit with a music-video type feel where the visuals took you for a ride along with the audio, sort of on the same vein I did with "Midnight". My main 3 band girls of Luka, Miku, and Rin return dressed in classy and sexy attire with Luka giving a knock-out performance.
I first heard "Faster" several years ago and it's always been on my list of "must-do" edits. Within Temptation has a symphonic-rock sound that is almost melodramatic, but I really enjoy it. And I hope you do too.

Project Diva F 2nd - Mamma Mia by Kara ft Luka / Meiko / Miku / Rin

• Title: Mamma Mia

• Original MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tK0XUQQ3wA
• Hardware/Software: Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd for the PS3 / Elgato HD60 / Sony Vegas 13 Pro
I took my inspiration from the original music video wanting to replicate it in flow and feel. I represented the original KARA singers to the following vocaloid characters as close as possible:
Miku = Hara
Luka = Seungyeon
Rin = Youngji
Meiko = Gyuri
With 270 scenes crammed in less than 220 seconds, and editing over 6500 frames almost frame by frame, and using post production effects, this is one of my most ambitious edits yet and took an immense amount of time. A thank you to my friend Shinji who helped be my video "proof-reader" and held me to the "Rule of Thirds", a guideline of art which, when followed appropriately, enhances visual presentation and composition.
Please enjoy and if you do, hit the like button and leave a comment.

I love the 80's sound and style of HSP's stuff. "Stop Me" is no exception and one of my favorite songs from him and one of the few where he uses Luka.
I started this edit around 2013, but like most edits, it sat on my PS3 unfinished for 2 years. I worked on it on and off, but the song is almost 6 minutes long and it seemed to take forever to get through it. There isn't much of a premise to it other than Luka singing and dancing with a lot of effects. There's a number of things in it that are still unfinished or unpolished and could use more work. Also because of the post-production effects, Youtube poops all over it with its notoriously bad re-compression and a lot of scenes end up looking very pixelated and blocky, particularly during scene transitions. But I've exhausted my inspiration and I wanted to just get this done and out of the way. So here it is in its unfinished glory...
Enjoy!

I was introduced to this song by fellow Luka worshipper, YbioloidY on YouTube, where he suggested I make a PV for it. When I heard it, I knew I wanted to. But as usual, ideas and inspiration were hard to come by and it would take 3 months to complete. There is a deleted scene that I took out at the last minute because I thought it would be too sexually explicit. I'm sure some people may find the current PV already too explicit anyway, but no more than the song already is in my opinion.
Much thanks and arigatos to EZFG for making such awesome music. And a thank you to YbioloidY for calling my attention to this song.
Enjoy!

Extra:
I believe this song is a sequel to "Even If I Keep Getting Turned Down" with Kaito and Meiko and also from EZFG. I couldn't find it on his channel, but it's posted on another Youtube channel with russian lyrics (and another with spanish lyrics):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOTBf8OzFec
This song has a slightly different pace, but still a good hard beat that keeps your toes tapping.
And as much as I think Meiko needs more love, no I won't be making a PV for this for those of you wondering.
English translation by Hazuki no Yume:
http://vocaloidlyrics.wikia.com/wiki/Accidentally
I was going to add the translated English lyrics to the video, however Hazuki has a policy of not allowing her translations be subbed on videos that are not from the original composer. Instead, I'll just insert them here:
Another morning as always has come,
with its clear air and affected refreshingness.
I've gotten used to being turned down,
and I've started looking at everything cynically, hopelessly.
Just when I was thoroughly fed up with being overly tense,
as if always trying to read others' unconscious mind,
as if a single mistake could cost me my life,
we met, accidentally.
You hit my cheek violently
with your hair tied on the back of your head.
Leaving me with your scent and this pain,
you've opened my eyes to a whole new world.
If only I hadn't turned around back then
and could have remained oblivious to the joy I gave you.
It's the same morning as always,
yet my heart is dancing in my chest, for I still remember it.
I tended to avoid reality,
but now I've realized it does hold a definite power within it.
If I can't bring myself to write out the word "hope"
if I've already thoroughly despaired of this world,
then how come we're coming across each other again?
Accidentally, frighteningly so.
With your hair tied in two,
you hit my cheeks repeatedly and violently.
That superhuman feat took me by surprise,
and I was able to get out of the rut I've been stuck in.
With you wanting it and me getting a kick out of it,
if only I could douse myself with the emotions gushing out of me.
It's something only we can understand.
It's not something you can easily categorize as good or evil.
It's a little of a gray area.
Please, if you don't mind.
No matter whether it's out of sympathy or misunderstanding,
I don't care I just want it.
When did everything become so crazy?
Gently fluttering, most gracefully.
Anyway, just hit my cheek
with the hair tied on the back of your head.
That level where it doesn't hurt
is no longer enough to satisfy me.
Almost foolishly, we're falling in too deep. (Hit my cheek.) (Hit them repeatedly and violently.)
What can I do before both of us break down? (Anyway, just hit my cheek.)
Leaving me with your scent and this pain,
you've completely disappeared before me.
It's been a while since I last saw you.
Short hair looks good on you, too.

Project DIVA F 2nd - Flashdance...What A Feeling by Giorgio Moroder/Irene Cara
• Title: Flashdance... What A Feeling
• Vocals: Irene Cara
• Music: Giorgio Moroder
• Lyrics: Keith Forsey / Irene Cara
• PV: xtokashx
• Hardware/Software: Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd for the PS3 / Elgato HD60 / Sony Vegas 13 Pro
It has a long time since I uploaded my very first abomination of a Project Diva edit in 2011.
And it's been over one and a half years since my last edit upload. It's obvious my motivation to create them has declined tremendously. The seed is still there as it somehow sprouted and took root once more when I heard this song again recently and since I last heard it so many years ago. But like my first edit, this is a back-to-basics, straight-forward, and relatively simple one with one character (Meiko) and nothing too fancy. Most everything is done in the Project Diva editor with some limited post-production for fixing small sections, adding a crossfade, enhancing the silhouette effect, and adding some titles.
Like this song implies, stay upbeat and positive, be optimistic, and don't let the craziness of this world get you down.
"What a feeling" it has been over this last decade.

Dreamy Theater 2nd - The Winner Takes It All by ABBA ft Megurine Luka
The Winner Takes It All by ABBA feat. Megurine Luka as Agnetha Fältskog
This project was a total experiment to see how well a non-vocaloid song works using the Project Diva characters and graphics engine. It's an idea that came to me as I lay on my bed listening to ABBA with the images of Luka doing "Dancer in the Dark" still fresh in my mind. The two merged and the results are this video.
Merging non-vocaloid songs with vocaloid characters is nothing new. There are plenty of examples all over youtube. To me, most of them don't seem to work too well. Too often the real voice dubbed over the vocaloid's is a character mis-match and watching/hearing it feels like scratching nails on a chalkboard. Vocaloids have a definitive voice. It's what defines them as a vocaloid character. To replace this voice with another is in essence replacing the heart and soul of the character. So if the voice were to be replaced, it would have to be with one that would still portray the vocaloids character and personality in order for it to work and be at least somewhat believable. When I first tried it, I was even a little concerned about it's believability. But the more I worked with it, the more it grew on me. The final determination is up to the observer as to whether it works or not. For some this particular attempt will work and for others, well, I'll try to remove my nails from the chalkboard. :D
Luka was always my first choice for the role of Agnetha Fältskog, the lead singer of ABBA. Out of curiosity I tried Miku and Rin. But they seemed too cute and happy-go-lucky to fit with such a mature and developed voice. Luka's demeanor and personality, to me, worked much better. I noticed even some of the animations on the PSP give Luka a slightly more developed feel. For example, Miku and Rin's eyes when tightly shut are bolded greater/less than signs (sorry youtube won't allow those symbols to be displayed in the description!) and look very cartoony, whereas Luka's keeps the eye shape and look much more natural. It appears even SEGA is trying to speak to the difference in the characters' personalities as defined by Crypton.
A lot of blood, sweat, and tears went into the making of this video. Countless hours at home and even during breaks at work were spent in the Project Diva 2nd editor. I thought "Dancer in the Dark" was a chore...boy, was I mistaken! It amazes me that some of these master PJD editors crank out their PV's in a week. I don't know how they do it, because these take me at least several weeks to a month to do. And that's putting in a good 20-30 hours a week. Maybe I'm just slow, old, and dense.
If you're a vocaloid purist who believes that a vocaloid's voice should never be tampered with or replaced or you don't like ABBA or don't care for their music, then this rendition of Dreamy Theater will most likely not appeal to you. But I tried to give the utmost respect with this presentation to both vocaloid and ABBA fans alike. I'm a huge fan of both so the merging of these two genres, when done right, works well in my mind. I hear a lot of ABBA's root style in today's vocaloid music so I believe a lot of vocaloid lovers would at least appreciate ABBA's music.
And because of that I'm hoping that most of you who view this video will enjoy it!
Please feel free to share your points of view in the comments.

Dreamy Theater 2nd - Code: Elegy by M@SATOSHI ft Hatsune Miku
Code: Elegy by M@SATOSHI ft Hatsune Miku
PHOTO-SENSITIVE WARNING: This video contains extreme flashing and strobing scenes. Do not view if you are photo-sensitive to such displays.
Miku is back in a high energy, toe-tappin', seizure inducing, light strobing performance. I really liked this tune by M@SATOSHI; from his fabulous album "大空色D-i-s-k". It's one of the few vocaloid albums where I enjoyed just about every song, it's that good!
You can watch M@SATOSHI's original PV for this song on Nico Nico Douga here:

or on Youtube here:

Yes, I went over-the-top with the strobing. But I personally liked how it turned out as well as several others I've previewed it for. If you don't like flashing and strobing stuff, steer clear and move on to still frame PV's... XD I kid, of course!
But otherwise, please enjoy! :)

Project DIVA 2nd - 飴か夢 Candy Or Dreams by doriko ft Hatsune Miku
An original Project Diva 2nd edit of doriko's 飴ã‹å¤¢ / Ame Ka Yume / Candy Or Dreams
Edit Note: My first attempt at a Project Diva 2nd edit, and it shows... XD
"Candy Or Dreams" is included in doriko's masterful album "Romeo and Cinderella". It's a strong and almost melodramatic piece with some rather somber lyrics. When I first began creating the PSP edit, I had no clue of what the lyrics were saying. So I originally had Miku looking much more happy and doing more cheerful dance moves since the music is so energetic and uptempo. Mid way through the editing, I looked up the English lyrics only to find how much more serious the overall meaning and tone of the song seemed to be. This forced me to "tone down" the edit a little more. Of course, Miku still looks happy and cheerful (it's difficult to make her look sad given the limitations of the game editing software and such an upbeat tempo), just not as much as I originally intended. On the flip-side, getting a gist of the translation made me redesign most of the edit so as I could convey in visual a little more of what was being sung in audio.
Regarding the title:
I realize the main stream translation of the title is "Candy Or Dream", but that's based off a literal straight translation without regard to context. After double-checking the translation on my own and then trying to understand the lyrics a little more, I felt the better sounding English title would be to pluralize "Dream" to "Dreams". It would be that or "A Candy Or A Dream", but that sounds even more corny.
Regarding the English translation:
The English translation is not my own. I garnered it from postings on youtube and other web sites (few that there were). The English syllables are grammatically designed to be almost the same as the Japanese, meaning you are able to sing along in English. The drawback of "forcing" such syllabled correctness is having to add or remove certain words that may convey a better meaning in a direct contextual translation. So I can't speak for it's accuracy. But since I have no clue of the Japanese language and website translators aren't enough help to provide anything better, I have turned to the postings and efforts of others. So many thanks and all credit to the person or persons who have taken the time to piece this English translation together.
Regarding the video resolution:
The PSP pumps out a resolution of 480x272. This looks fine on a 4.3" display. But blown up to anything larger and pixelation becomes blindingly apparant. The video has been upscaled and converted to 1920x1080 but given the limitations of the original source, it's obviously not true HD. In fact, there isn't much difference between the 720p and 1080p versions. 480p is actually a bit more forgiving in that it's higher resolution (compared to the PSP) is still able to smooth out a lot of the sharp pixelation which comes as a result of upscaling. For viewing I would suggest using either 480p or 720p.

Dreamy Theater 2nd - Stir Up! feat. Hatsune Miku
Stir Up! feat. Hatsune Miku by Allium Project
English lyrics translation by Jodi MB
With the announcement of Dreamy Theater 2nd, I wanted to try and create a Miku music video performance that would take advantage of the updated graphics while she wears the cool looking "Append" costume. Of course this was before I realized that the "Append" costume came with a software upgrade to her voice bank. I just thought it looked cool. So the song I chose, "Stir Up!", is unrelated and uses Miku's original voice.
A lot of Allium Project's works are of the repetitious techno/trance variety (done very well I might add). "Stir Up!" adds a little bit more of a discernible melody which keeps the song fresh and interesting throughout. And it seemed like the type of song Miku would perform on-stage, which made it a good choice for the selected background venue.
Drawing from my learnings (and mistakes) of my first edit attempt in Project Diva 2nd with "Candy Or Dreams" I tried to hone down Miku's performance in "Stir Up!" with less backdrop changes but more precision in timing with camera movements, lip syncing, and on-the-fly dance move changes that don't look too noticeably choppy (it's hard to get around this though). I hope and I believe there is a marked improvement, though there are a few timing issues with which I'm still dissatisfied. The upgraded resolution of the HD graphics on the PS3 gives amazing results compared to the PSP counterpart and helps hide some sloppiness but enhances other miscues.
With only the titles and some minor transition fades, I let the video remain true to the pure output of Dreamy Theater mainly because I did not want to over-render and lose too much of the original HD visual quality.
A requirement for maximum enjoyment is turning up the bass and letting that thumping sound drive your neighbors crazy! If you don't want to "stir up" trouble then put on some headphones and crank it...
A special thank you to Jodi MB who translated these elusive lyrics for me after this PV's been posted for almost 2 years with a request to help me with that.
Enjoy!

English Lyrics translation by Jodi MB:
As you let out all these sighs
The day's shadow becomes farther
Even at the time the snow falls
I am close by so the light will shine
When the town's sky becomes darker
It becomes thinner and harder to fly
So I am going to go ahead
And grab your hand
Let's not go and disappear from this world yet
I want to see myself and you change
Let's not go and disappear from this world yet
I want to see myself and you change
As the sky taunts us,
We get farther away from our own feelings
When the rain falls on your path
You stop, but miss the rainbow
Since the inside of the cloud is empty
You can't see any colors either
However my wings
Will surely reach to you
Let's not go disappearing from this world yet
I want to see myself and you change
Let's not go disappearing from this world yet
I want to see myself and you change

After completing "Stir Up!" with Miku, I wanted my next project to give Luka the spotlight. I went looking around the 'net and youtube for song and setting ideas when I found a great concept by dappleback where she suggested using Luka in the punk outfit to the tune of "Dancer in the Dark". I actually had never heard the song up to that point. But once I did, Luka's fate and my next project were sealed!
I crafted the choreography using the motions and models built into the Project Diva 2nd editor and output the edit through Dreamy Theater 2nd. From there, I captured the HD output and used Sony Vegas to acquire the video filtering and layering required to produce the shadow effects and titles.
You may also notice the tempo of the song is slightly slower than usual as I set it from 160bpm to 150bpm. This was done for two reasons. 1) It helped solve sync issues with the PSP BPM metronome and 2) The pacing seemed to work better when put in video format.
The video is a loose representation of Luka as a "dancer in the dark" where she grapples with the darker side of her own soul. I truly hope you enjoy this video as much as I did making it.
My sincerest thanks to fatmanP for composing such an outstanding song.
