Stan Getz Quartet - Getz Au Go Go (1964) [Complete LP]
One Of Our Deleted Albums Series
Stan Getz (1927-1991) released this album in 1964 on Verve Records, catalogue number V6-8600. The album features recordings of a live performance at the Cafe Au Go Go in New York City on 19 August 1964 with vocals by Astrud Gilberto.
The album was recorded by Rudy Van Gelder and anything recorded by Rudy Van Gelder sounds good. If you see a credit on an album saying "Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder" you can rest assured the sound quality is first rate.

Benny Goodman (1909-1986) was one of the most world's most popular band leaders during the Big Band era of the 1930's and 1940's.
He recorded this Direct To Disc album in 1978 for Century Records, catalogue number CRDD-1150.
This is an excellent album but, as far as I am aware, this album has been deleted and is no longer available in any format.
The audio here was taken from a 1978 US pressing of the original Century Records LP, which I bought when it was first released in 1978.

Harry James (1916-1983) was one of the leading band leaders and trumpet players in jazz during the Big Band era. He continued leading hisd Harry James Big Band until his death in 1983.
In 1976 and 1979 the Harry James Big Band made some first rate recordings with Sheffield Labs: The King James Version (1976) and Comin' From A Good Place (1977) were both recorded on 29 & 30 July 1976 and released as two separate vinyl LP's. Both were limited editions on vinyl but are still available on CD and iTunes through Sheffield Labs.
The audio here is taken from a 1976 German pressing of the original Sheffield Labs vinyl LP, which I bought when it was first released in 1976.

This is a 1975 re-issue by RCA Records of Artie Shaw (1910-2004) recordings made circa late 1930's and 1940's. I found it recently in a "Free Records" bin at a local second hand record store.

The Brass Connection - Standards (1983) [Complete CD]

The Brass Connection was a Canadian band comprised of some of Toronto's leading jazzmen and session players of the period.
This album was recorded at McClear Place Studios in Toronto in 1983 and subsequently released on the California based Jazz Alliance label, catalogue number TJA-10014.
This album has been deleted for many years and is currently only available as second hand copies. I found this one recently in a "Free CDs" bin at a local second hand record store. A previous owner was apparently a fan of Don Thompson, who plays piano and vibes on this album, and made the handwritten notation "Don Thompson - Vibes" on the front cover and highlighted Don Thompson's name in the credits.

Bobby Hales (1934-2016) was one of the leading studio musicians and arrangers in Vancouver, British Columbia from the 1960's to the 1990's.
His Bobby Hales Big Band was formed in 1966 and included most of the leading Vancouver jazz musicians of the period.
The Bobby Hales Big Band recorded its One Of My Bags album on 14-15 September 1975 at the Little Mountain Sound Company studio in Vancouver, B.C. The album was released on Center Line Records (catalogue number 0975), 7762 Kerrywood Crescent, Burnaby, B.C.
The album has been unavailable for decades.
The audio here is taken from a 1975 Canadian pressing of the original vinyl LP.

This Buck Clayton album was recorded in 1961.
Buck Clayton was one of the leading trumpet players in jazz from the 1940's until the 1960's, when a lip injury forced his retirement. Buck Clayton had played in the Count Basie Band and this album features Clayton backed by four other former members of the Count Basie Band: Buddy Tate, Emmett Berry, Dickie Wells and Earle Warren.
This particular album was released in 1961 on a British label, The World Record Club Limited, under catalogue number T601.
The audio on this video is taken from a 1961 British pressing of the original release by The World Record Club Limited.

The material on this album consists on 1937 recordings by the Quintet of the Hot Club of France which were remastered from the original 78 rpm records in 1974 and released on Angel Records, the classical music subsidiary of Capitol Records, under catalogue number S-36985.
This particular recording seems to have been deleted but these tracks are available on other compilations.
