Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 43: One Duelist, Three Decks
She has THREE decks?!?! Well I'm going to have to show all of those so you can beat her at this point in the game huh? ;)
Her first tries to cause various status conditions, mainly poison of course, while preventing you from retreating with Dark Muk and her special Rule. Switch could help here. But there's no need to panic if she traps one of your critters. There are 6 prize cards after all. Just prepare the next one on the side and prepare others in general as I have been teaching.
The second I got disallows discard piles! So anything sent there goes bye bye for the entire game! No nightly garbage runs for you! On top of that, she is heavy with Energy Removal and Golduck's Hyper Beam removing energy too. With TONS of draw power, you can always expect some energy removal on hand from her. Using Blastoise's Rain Dance also helps her power up said Hyper Beam faster than it normally would be. As a result of all these factors, her Ultra Removal deck may very well be the most powerful deck in the game that opponents can have.
The last is more beatdown/haymaker styled as the rule reduces resistance to 10 from 30, allowing quick attacks to reign supreme. Heavy draw power here as well ensures she can keep punching. Think you can sweep her team by just setting up something powerful? Think again. Mr. Mime can be switched in with it's Invisible Wall to block any attack over 20. So you'll need a variety of damage outputs to win.
Any deck she picks will likely be a heck of a fight. So bring your best decks!

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 42: Early and Late
Guess who finally has step 4 unlocked?!?! Well, it's not Aaron because what unlocks with him is not actually a "step 4" so much as it is a surprise random-deck duel! He has two so we'll just go ahead and beat them... with our new fire-water deck. ;)
His first focuses on bench attacks so switching is often useless as he'll just finish one off anyway. Thus try to make the most of your Pokemon, even if they'll be KO'd as the active Pokemon because chances are he'll just switch in something that'll KO it.
His second revolves around filling his bench to power up Wigglytuff's Do The Wave. That sounds familiar doesn't it? XD Well, his version isn't nearly as quick due to a lack of draw power so we should be able to handle it.
Then returning to GR Castle we face off against Clay, who has a 3-energy, 4-elemental type deck made for speed and versatility. He wants to test himself against the legendary cards which is our requirement and is why we had to make a new-ish deck to begin with. But little does he realize the biggest threat is not the legendaries. Zapdos lv68 of all things got a surprise spotlight though. But realistically we didn't need it. I just used it to see what would happen after I noticed I was in a good position.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 41: Grass Kicking
This is one of those extremely rare instances where luck-based elements go my way. Usually I have to plan for flipping tails while the opponent gets heads. Not this time! It has been 40 days of straight bad luck which I planned for in my moves so I could still consistently win. But today is MY day and they can't take it away from me! XD
Jessica probably couldn't have had a worse day if she tried. Or maybe I was just getting "lucky". :P Her deck is pretty streamlined, but she just couldn't get anything off the ground. Multiple times in a row.
Mitch's powerful Fighting deck uses Mr. Mime's neutral damage to prevent us from resisting Fighting attacks similar to the Fighting Fort's special rule. So flying critters are ineffective aside from just attacking with them normally. "Luckily" for me I could keep him down very heavily, lol!

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 40: Dojo Mojo
For all the training they did, we just kind of walked in and took over with our own style, lol! Maybe that's how Team GR did it and we'll be utterly destroyed when we can go for GR Castle?...
Michael's new deck talks Machoke, but can actually reach Machamp. Primarily it's based around quick attacks. Though probably not as streamlined as it could be for more impact. Therefor it wasn't too difficult of a battle.
Chris is up next with an even less streamlined deck. XD Mainly incomplete evolutionary lines and trainer cards with little focus. So it goes without saying that it'll be pretty easy to beat if you understand the concepts of deckbuilding: Focus on your deck's strategy and make it work to it's fullest!

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 39: Overcoming Weaknesses
So I guess water can handle lightning! Well... water, colorless and a bunch of Energy Removal. ;)
Brandon's got a lot of attack power, but only when having a lot of energy cards for instance. The Pikachu, Eevee and lv35 Electabuzz are easy to power up for him. The other Electabuzz, Zapdos and Jolteon may be iffy.
Isaac's explosive tendencies remain as being one of his signature traits of quick attacks. Low energy for bench attacks and at least 40 for a self-KO or defender-save can be quite useful. He's also loaded with Electabuzz of the lv35 variety himself which are pretty quick for my water critters to handle. There's a splash of flying Doduo to handle if you have fighting Pokemon, but we aren't, so we can just keep on attacking. Side note: No Pokemon in the game has a natural resistance to Water. You have to make it such as a Porygon.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 38: Challenging Myself
Since my watery Stop It deck seems to be the best I have right now, I figured I could put it to the test VS lightning Pokemon!
Jennifer's Pikapoopers have the capability of dodging attacks as well as just being able to attack swiftly due to their low energy costs. So damage management will be key to winning here! Also possibly Colorless.
Nicholas's rematch shows a suped up deck of speedy Lightning Pokemon to attack fast, with Zapdos to power up on the side as a finisher. To tackle Fighting types, he also utilizes colorless Flying Pokemon. Since I'm using Water and colorless I can hit any of them. But he can often hit me back double.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 37: Washed Up
There goes the Water Club!
Joshua has a new deck so we've gotta take him on. Well... twice. :P It didn't go so well for him the first round. Also during the second, but definitely faster the first. Probably' should just move on this time. XD
Amy's Rain Dance deck is the thing to face next and if it gets going, it could sweep everything! I didn't let it get to that point though by bringing the Blastoise out with Gust Of Wind, KOing it, then working on the rest. She did manage to begin powering up a bunch because it was done right away on her own turn, but probably should have put the eggs in 1-2 powerful baskets rather than spread them out so much. Gotta' make the most of your turns after all! Unless she was expecting a Professor Oak?

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 36: Triple Chance
Due to my paranoia, I had a change of plans to go back to the remaining 3 clubs and clean them out in case there's any missed text. We were going to beat them anyway after all. Plus they'll give us more cards.
The first opponent has a pretty basic water deck. Low trainer count too. As a result, it was a pretty easy win as it couldn't really deal with much.
The second though... I'm sure she has a better deck than the first opponent, but I gave her THREE chances! XD I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 35: Legendarily Normal Games
For Grand Masters, the outcome was pretty routine. Maybe that's how Team GR beat them, lol!
Jack's deck is built around paralyzing your Pokemon with the Legendary Articunos Pokemon Power while attacking with semi-strong moves. It's largely a control deck which makes for a pretty good match for my aggro Swift deck.
Then Rod's dragon-themed deck had a pretty expected outcime with my Stop It deck. Just' couldn't do much as it's Pokemon requires a lot of energy which mine just won't allow. Just imagine if I had two more Super Energy Removal. :P

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 34: Selfdestruct
Time to face the Grand Masters and their new decks! Based around the cards of legend of course!
I held down Courtney pretty well with Wigglytuff and a host of Energy removal cards. Which is probably the best strategy you could hope for VS her since fire Pokemon use and discard a lot of energy. The Legendary Moltres just couldn't keep up.
Steve though? Oh man! You're about to find out why I consider the Legendary Zapdos to be one of the worst cards ever invented. XD Just... see for yourself! There was also some AI manipulation. But I'm beginning to wonder if I even needed to do so.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 33: Mind Crush
They may use psychic, but they seem a tad mentally exhausted, lol!
So Ronald meets us in front of the GR Castle gate and duels us. His main strategy seems to be to use Gengar lv.40 to throw us off, then attack with various powerhouses. Primarily Mewtwo and Dragonite. But you'll see they have a bit of difficulty doing so for... "reasons". ;)
Then we find out we can't end-end game it up due to a lack of legendary cards. So let's flow over to Ishihara's house and look around. Plus tweak our deck. Then head over to the Psychic Club to finish that place off since I need a single-duel to do so
That duelist? Murray! He's the only one with a new deck. Though I guess technically it's his real deck because remember he was using a deck that was given to him by GR No.4?.... Or.... maybe-kinda sometimes called Gr. No. 3.....Oh who knows! Probably a typo after all. He uses Alakazam's Damage Swap to move damage counters around to high-HP Pokemon to essentially heal his active Pokemon, then Scoop Up to heal the Pokemon he moved damage counters to. Oddly he failed to utilize the strategy very well though. Maybe there just was too much crushing going on and he lost focus.
Next up... The GRAND MASTERS!!!

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 32: Colorless Chaos
We finally made it back to the Colorless Altar! Well... not that it matters how quickly we get there since we were going to beat everyone anyway. But still, lol!
MEGA stall tactics with the first duelist, but that's to be expected of a "blockade" deck. Sure enough it's Lickitung that causes the most stalling though. XD
Then comes the second which is quite the opposite. A more aggro style that would be quite a good match for my swift deck. Only.... I was using the Paralyze deck which sucked up all the energy. rofl! Wigglytuff too, but that was more like the icing on the cake.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 31: FIIIRE and Versatility
These guys are lit!
Especially the first guy. :P His fire-heavy deck is inspired by his inner fire which can fire up some powerful Pokemon. The Arcanine and Flareon can especially fire the fire's fire. Get my fire? It's FIRE!
Ken's deck has a bunch of energy types making his deck the most versatile yet. At least when it comes to typing. The weakness to having so many energy types though is that you have to spread the energy more thin and thus the probabilities of getting what you need may not be in your favor.

Turns' out I didn't have enough Pidgey after all. So as long as we're at the Fire club...
We may as well clear it out! Starting with the first guy who has no idea how to use the powerhouses of the deck, lol! He could've put so much pressure on me, but nope! But I got the Pidgey I needed from the boosters I got! :D But I can't stop here, I gotta clear out the rest!
So the second was sort of an enigma in that at the start I came really close to losing. But thanks to Professor Oak I cycled in some new things I could use. But a lack of lightning energy kept my ideas down for a while.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 29: Closest of Calls!
The first opponent... I probably shouldn't have gave a second chance! XD
It went in my favor way too quickly in the first game so I couldn't help but redo it and show her deck in full. Did I ever! The Big Eggsplosion was powerful as described, as was the Solarbeams! One Eggsplosion came as close as it could possibly come to my defeat!
Our second was also close in a different way: AI hiccupping! After that initial hurdle though, it was relatively even in board setups, then I took over. So kind of a rollercoaster with our black-clad friend.

More Grass Club? Why not? There are still unbeaten players! After all, if there's one thing I do, it's tackle every challenge!
First up is a moth-filled deck where you'd be best using Fire. I can't help but show you how to beat decks without utilizing weaknesses or even being at a disadvantage though. So the Swift deck it is! Besides, with the new cards, I was able to make some tweaks to it.
Second is Brittany whom we dueled before, but has a new deck this time! A much more powerful deck! Though maybe luck just was VERY on her side. XD

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 27: Grass To Grass
They may call it the science club, but it's grass-energy. :P
Obviously the first opponent was going to be Rick and his Weezing and Arbok combos have the ability to dish out a lot of damage quickly. You can out-speed his deck or keep switching though of course.
Then moving over to the other grass club, we have a battler that has the strategy of filling up the bench of critters for easy switch HP saves and deck thinning for the big boy: Vileplume. Vileplume does have the weakness of confusing itself. But it can heal other critters as well as itself assuming it's not, well, confused. XD

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 26: Wait Wait Wait!
The first opponent... is acquiring the right cards for future opponents, lol!
So after thinking about it, I decided to sidequest to get cards rather than do it off camera because it's more fun and realistic this way. So the first guy we face is all the way back at the Science Club since it's back up and running. It's very Nidoran focused to say the least, so poison as well as high attack chances are prevalent.
The second... Oh right... He's not one of the players who gets a new deck later. Whoops! XD We did get some awesome cards from his boosters though!
So I then head to a third which is poison-based in a lot of it's critters. But with the power of switching and strategy, you can null most of the detrimental effects of Poison.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 25: Double Stall
Slurpy slurp!
So the first match was a stall fest that came more down to math than it did attack power. The first one to run out of cards loses, basically, lol! Her deck can do powerful attacks, but it was almost like she discarded them or something. Or maybe made the mistake of evolving to Gengar at the wrong time rather than attacking with Haunter. Although she also could've attacked with Mr. Mime... So who knows!
The second was stally in a different way. XD I had a slow start and needed to get things going. When I did, he was able to KO my Tuff' and I had to use another stall-powerup method. Which ended up turning into a mistake by the opponent and I didn't need the big boy.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 24: Insane Rule
Just wait until you see...
The first player wants us to have any combo of 6 Gastly and Hunter. That's not too difficult to use as most incarnations are decent enough. Though most of the ones I have are a tad on the iffy side. XD
But the second one requires us to have... wait for it... NO TRAINER CARDS! o_o That means Pokemon must support themselves through their abilities and creating status ailments. That also means you have to rebalance your deck accordingly. More energy to offset the lack of draws (Stuff like Kangaskhan lv. 40 helps, but you need to draw into them and to use their ability you still have to use your turn's attack.), more Pokemon so you have something to fill the rest but that also poses the issue of the deck not being as streamlined in strategy, preferably pokemon with Pokemon Powers that can benefit the whole team for utility (Though I'm lacking those as well, lol!), no trainers to pick Pokemon out, no trainers to suck energy from the opposing Pokemon too, etc... Mind you we are BOTH in that position, but it still feels very top-decky.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 23: Resist This
My decks may be a bit too powerful to worry about special rules. XD Mind you I don't have a full collection of cards so they aren't tournament-ready or anything. But they're more than a match for the in-game characters.
The first duelist has a rule where resistance is reduced to 10. Not that much is resistant to anything else when it comes to our decks. But I guess if you planned on playing stall, that would be a bit of a hitch.
The second has quite a fan-base that can't resist her and is hoping for her win. But spirits quickly shift as I take over the duel... Both times. :P
Also, I hope i didn't miss any E-mails by forgetting to check it for so long. XD We'll see when I turn the game back on later.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 22: Heads or Heads
A ridiculous amount of coin flips landed in the first duelist's favor I couldn't believe it! On top of that, I kept flipping tails to his benefit! It took FOREVER to win! But I wasn't about to give up because I know eventually the luck will run out! Right?...
The big dog of the Fighting Fortress has a special rule that nothing can resist fighting attacks. So flying critters are out of the question. You could still happily use stuff like defender. Or of course just use a psychic and grass deck and go for a quick sweeping. :P But I went with my Fireweed for this and the first duel because it has been a while since I used it. As stated before, with strategy, you can win with just about any deck as long as you put thought into it and your moves. Including if you used pure colorless Pokemon weak to fighting. Weakness and Resistance isn't everything after all.
Then to finish off the part I wandered around the labyrinth to open the chests and get the cards. Including a promo Diglett! I have a good chunk of it memorized as you see, but everything looks so similar that it can still be confusing. It didn't take too long however.

Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 21: Guessing Maze
The Water Fort is a goner as we take on Brooke and win with.... mostly swift plays! It was a lot of bench buildups leading into a sweep, basically. I didn't really even need to use the -1 switch rule as I planned things out pretty well! Also, is it me, or does Brooke seem like a reference to Misty?
But when we reach the Fighting Fortress... Well, let's just say they made it a bit too trial and error right now. So instead of exploring it, I go straight to the next duel which demands we only use fighting energy. Not too big of a deal, cept' that I don't exactly have a very fleshed out Fighting Pokemon arsenal due to pack pulls, nor many flying critters. So it'll be a interesting game!

The second duel restricts everyone's playfield to just 3 bench spots because... water maybe?!?! That's not too restrictive, you just have to think more about what you need rather than just slapping every basic Pokemon there.
