CUCV M10128 Project Part 1 - Oops! I Did It Again! 2nd CUCV!
Took a ride to Gloversville, NY and grabbed up a good deal on another CUCV. This one is the M1028. Almost identical to Krankenstein, the M1008 other than a few things such as an even BEEFIER suspension (if you can believe it), a different transfer case and a few small options. There will be plenty of future videos on this truck for me to explain it all. I have big plans for this one! In the meantime, enjoy this introductory video!

Guy Quickly Turns 2018 Dodge Durango GT Into 2020 RAM Power Wagon!
This 2018 Dodge Durango GT has AWD, but it didn't come with a trailer hitch. It doesn't have very much ground clearance either so we did some quick upgrading to make it more tow & off-road capable. If you want a 2018 Durango that is more like a 2020 RAM Power Wagon, this is the only upgrade you need!

CUCV M1008 Project Part 6 - I Got The SHAFT On This M1008 CUCV!
Felt a sudden wobble and bounce from under the truck and recognized it immediately. I just blew the U-Joint! Thankfully it was only 1/2 a mile from home and it didn't let go completely. I bounced home at 10 MPH and got crackin' on it! No big deal! Check it out.

CUCV M1008 Project Part 4 - Legal And On The Road. Let's Work It!
Got the CUCV M1008 registered, insured and inspected and then immediately put it to work. Something is fishy about this though!

CUCV M1008 Project Part 5 - Spin On Filter Conversion (With Built-In Primer) for 6.2 Liter Diesel
The original fuel filter in this 1986 M1008 CUCV is leaking and needs to be rebuilt. The original fuel filter base has a connection for the "Water In Fuel" light on the dash as well as a heater connection that warms the fuel up. For these reasons, I will keep and rebuild the original fuel filter base. In the meantime, here's my spin-on conversion build. My favorite features of this particular setup are the built-in primer pump and the fact that the mounting holes on this filter base perfectly line up with the original holes and can be mounted without having to fabricate anything. Even though I want the original filter base back, this setup would be perfectly fine to just leave in the truck forever.

CUCV M1008 Project Part 3 - First Roll And A NEW TOY For The Bed!
Got the M1008 CUCV running on its own gas tank. Found any and all fuel line leaks and patched them for now. Just waiting on the RMV to send my plates so I can go have this plow lifted out of the bed, remove the bed and completely re-do the fuel delivery system from tank to IP. Also got an upgraded "bed toy" to replace the original "less capable" model.

CUCV M1008 Project Part 1 - The Day We Met
Drove my 2020 RAM Power Wagon 600 miles over hills, mountains and through valleys, deep into PA and then another 600 miles on the way back to MA, flat- towing a 5,900 lb 1986 Military M1008 CUCV Heavy Duty pickup truck with a 1,000 lb. plow in the bed. Tried to do it all in 24 hours non-stop. Did I make it?

CUCV M1008 Project Part 2- Got It Running!
1986 Military CUCV M1008 Project Video Part 2 - Getting it running!
I bought this thing NOT running, but it was allegedly just due to needing a starter. Put in new starter and new batteries and it still wouldn't start. Turns out there is a pinhole in a fuel line that is sucking air. FOUND IT! Got it running! Runs great! Moving on! Apologies for low voice audio. Engine sound seems to have been too much for the iPhone mic.
