The incident, which was captured in bystander video, unfolded Monday afternoon as four officers appeared to hold down the woman as a fifth officer hit her several times. She was hit seven times in the knees and 10 more times with a closed fist, and the man arrested with her was armed with a 9 mm handgun, police said. "We have to take a close look at when is enough enough," Jennings said of police force needed to make an arrest. "I can tell you that in the public's opinion, absolutely, the public is going to say that was excessive, and I understand that. I get it." Police said Pistone delivered “compliance strikes.” The action is "consistent with our training and is done in order to gain compliance and to prevent further assault by non-compliant subject," authorities said at a news conference. He was placed on temporary assignment and removed from patrol duties as the internal investigation continues. "We've seen historically, not just in Charlotte but across the country, it's the mistreatment of Black and brown people throughout the country by police," Jennings said. "And that's what people look at and causes concern."

According to FOX NEWS A California man who was left paralyzed after he was slammed to the ground during a traffic stop won a $20 million settlement, one of the largest in the state’s history, officials announced Tuesday. Gregory Gross, an Army veteran who lives in Yuba City, sued the police department in 2022 after police officers used “pain compliance” techniques and expressed disbelief when he repeatedly cried out, “I can’t feel my legs.” Police officers also dismissed Gross when he said, “I can’t breathe,” while being held facedown on the lawn outside a hospital, video released by Gross’s lawyers shows. Gross was accused of driving drunk and causing a slow-speed collision in April 2020.

The nearly two-minute clip, apparently filmed by an officer's body-worn camera, has subsequently been shared widely across social media where it has sparked fury. The Ohio incident reportedly occurred after a high-speed police chase saw a semi-truck driver lead Highway Patrol officers across three counties before the pursuit came to an end by a grassy median on Route 23, according to Scioto Valley Guardian. The clip opens by showing the suspect—allegedly the driver—standing by the vehicle in question. He is following troopers' commands to surrender and has his hands in the air. The troopers shout at him to approach them, and the suspect begins to walk toward the officers. It is at this point that the Circleville Police Department's K-9 unit arrives at the scene. One trooper can be heard calling out that the dog should not be released while the suspect was complying. "Do not release the dog with his hands up," he calls and continues to shout throughout. But an officer and his dog—identified by the newspaper as Officer Ryan Speakman and Belgian Malinois-Shepherd mix 'Serg'—approach from the suspect's right-hand side. Speakman can then be heard screaming, "Get your ass on the ground or you're going to get bit!" Speakman appears to release the dog at this point, shouting out the keyword "Stellen" (which means "bite" in Dutch), and the animal—whose face is now level with the suspect's—viciously mauls him. The suspect screams in pain as the dog's teeth clamp onto him and the animal drags the man down onto the median. Denver Police investigation finds no wrongdoing in officers' actions at Denver charter school DPD conducted an internal affairs investigation stemming from an April 24 incident in which Denver police officers searched the RiseUp Community School in search of a student who police believed shot at another person the night before in Lakewood. A Denver police internal affairs investigation into an allegation of inappropriate use-of-force during an incident in a Denver high school in April concluded that the officer did not act inappropriately, according to a conduct review report released to 9Wants to Know. The complaint against the officer was first filed by Lucas Ketzer, the principal at RiseUp Community School. However, body camera video released to RiseUp reveals that police quickly interpreted the principal and other staff members’ actions as “uncooperative." At one point, an officer is heard referring to the principal as a “lib-tard.” “I have never had a detective or a police officer accuse me of lying,” Ketzer said. “I have been the principal for 5 years, and I wouldn’t put my students in harm’s way.” Ketzer said that he at first thought police were looking for information from the student, but later learned the student was a suspect in an attempted murder case. Ketzer also confirmed that the student had been in the building earlier that day, but he and staff did not believe the student was in school when officers arrived. “We actually found out that he left before lunch.” Ketzer said. Police records show that 10 officers wearing body cameras arrived at the school to create a perimeter and search the school for the student. During the search of the school, one officer, Joseph Siemer who has worked as a Denver police officer since 2008, was accused of pushing a teacher out of the doorway in an effort to search the classroom.
