The Best Halloween TV Episodes Of All Time
I'm always looking forward to that magical time of year. As I've gotten older things have changed, but the feelings I get have not. What I'm talking about is obviously Halloween. Not even just Halloween, but special Halloween programming. For me, it all started with It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror, and then just got better and better.

WTF Happened To Trick 'R Treat?
It seems like every year, either at Halloween or sometimes at the end of summer, a new seasonally-themed anthology, or six, gets released by the horror-viewing community. Of course, everyone has a different opinion on what the best ones are, but a title that keeps coming back when talking about the best anthologies or the best Halloween season films is Trick ‘r Treat, released in 2007. Well, initially in 2007 but wider in 2009.

So take all three of those elements, add some snow, and what do you get? An entry in the Halloween series they tried to make back in 2003, which just never gained momentum. WTF Really Happened To 'The Burning'?
Urban legends are mostly just that, the stuff of legends. They can inspire some people to do horrifying things and create urban legends of their own. Very often, these stories get the movie or show treatment whether they hue close to anything factual or not. Cropsey was a Staten Island folk tale that made the rounds scaring kids and a camping variation of it inspired a 5-page treatment that would become the cult classic 1981 film The Burning. While it was inspired by folklore, how much did it end up mirroring a real convicted criminal? Don’t look in any abandoned rafts as we find out what REALLY happened to The Burning!

Halloween 2: Why Is It Considered The Best Sequel?
Today on Real Slashers we're looking at a film that I've wanted to cover for quite some time. Because it's hard to followup one of the greatest horror films of all time. let alone one that takes place on the same night. Yet what Rick Rosenthal, Debra Hill, and John Carpenter (plus a lot of Budweiser) are able to accomplish is quite impressive. So join us as we get into the slashery details of Halloween 2.

Horror Ripoffs: Did Jaws Inspire Piranha?
They say imitation is the best form of flattery, even if it becomes apparent that we’ve seen similarities between films within a certain genre; by the end of it, they’re still sometimes enjoyable. However, what do we consider the best film that has it all between the originator and the imitator? The film that goes above and beyond in terms of scope, its acting, its overall story, and most importantly, its re-watch ability? Today, we will compare two infamous 70’s horror films that explore the creatures of the deep. The 1975 film Jaws and Joe Dante’s 1978 film Piranha!

The Exorcist: Believer Review
Pity poor David Gordon Green. While obviously a hardcore horror fan, the former indie darling took a critical mauling with Halloween Ends and seems doomed to repeat the experience with The Exorcist: Believer. It's supposed to be the first entry in a new trilogy of Exorcist films, but the movie is so abysmal one shouldn't hold out too much hope for a follow-up.

WTF Happened To Sleepy Hollow?
Back in 1820, author Washington Irving created a short story entitled The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. It brought to life the haunting character of The Headless Horseman. This legendary tale would become the stuff of nightmares and scare people of all ages. So what was the next best thing to do? That’s right…adapt it into a movie! And not just any movie…we’re talking about Disney’s The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (Record Scratch)…Sorry I meant Tim Burton’s 1999 Horror film Sleepy Hollow.

Saw X Movie Review
As a massive Saw fan, I can't say how excited I was when they said we'd finally be getting our John Kramer story. And being set between the events of the first two films gives limitless possibility. And the filmmakers make sure to fully take advantage of that here. Because Saw isn't just a love letter to fans of the franchise, it's a great entry point for those who have never even watched a Saw before.

Deconstructing 'The Witch' With Anya Taylor Joy
In today’s episode, we’re going to breakdown the success and important impact of 2015’s “The Witch”
while also diving deep into what this movie can tell us about finding our place in a world that otherwise doesn’t accept us. It’s a dark story, to be sure. But I believe it’s also a very personal story to the filmmaker behind it which makes for an interesting sense of relief and liberation by the time the credits roll. For those looking for an excess of gore and flashy kills, you may soon find yourself wandering beyond the slice and dice of slasher cinema and instead being taken on a more cerebral and psychological journey through the mind of Robert Eggars in his first directorial outing - The Witch.

What Happened To Saw 2?
Did you know that the producers of Saw repurposed a non-Jigsaw related script into what we would now know as the first sequel? From a pit of 120K fake needles to a filming schedule of just 21 days, this project had nearly everything working against it. So let's see how they were able to interweave the Saw narrative and whether it worked as we take a look at WTF Happened to Saw 2.

Remember Dark Shadows (1991)?
It's not weird that we do this one first, right? Shhhh. We don't have actually to tell anyone. One of you is going to give me sh*t, aren't you? If we did do Dark Shadows OG, we'd have to do a whole Dark Shadows week. If you want that, please send your love notes to the higher-ups. That said, let's crank the Joy Division and take a step into the trashy romance novels of Horror soaps, Dark Shadows Revival 91. Yes, we're adding the 91!

What Happened To Scream 5?
After Wes Craven died in 2015, it was hard to imagine the Scream series continuing without him. With Williamson coming and going from the series, Wes was always the creative lynchpin, knowing the right way to Shepard the series. Thankfully, Radio Silence would hear none of that and provided us with one of the better entries in the series. So join us today as we get into WTF Happened To Scream 5.

Is The Number 23 Jim Carrey's Worst Movie?
While Jim Carrey has firmly planted himself as one of the greatest comic actors of our time, there was a time in the 2000s when he pursued dramatic roles. While some of them would get loads of praise rightfully heaped onto them (Eternal Sunshine) there were others that didn't fare so well. And today's subject may have been the most brutal of Carrey's drama experimentations. One that takes his obsession with a certain number and makes an entire film out of it. So join us as we get into the numerical insanity of The Number 23.

Is Idle Hands Still Relevant? Looking Back At The Classic '90s Horror Comedy
1999, Y2K was pending; some folks were freaking out about it, while most teens couldn’t be bothered. That year saw a few big releases, some great fun ones like Deep Blue Sea and Lake Placid, and some that were meant to be great, like Virus and The Haunting. So when a smaller title, one that sold itself with “the touching story of a boy and his right hand,” Idle Hands’ marketing knew exactly who they were aiming at with their film.

What Happened To Halloween Resurrection?
Most of us can agree that today's film lives near the bottom of the barrel of the “Halloween” franchise and maybe the horror genre itself. But we’re completionists and, truth be told, the hows and whys of Resurrection’s existence are much more interesting than the movie itself, so thanks in advance for logging into our chat room so we can all figure out WTF Happened to “Halloween: Resurrection.”

What Happened To Keanu Reeves' The Watcher?
The late 1990s and early 2000s had an interesting subgenre of films come forward and be popular, a sort of serial killers versus cops thing that had a few entries, including Copycat, The Bone Collector, Kiss the Girls, Taking Lives, and The Watcher. There was something about them that was on the edge of horror but not so far into the genre that general audiences would skip out. Today, we discuss the one that bombed hard yet had a fantastic cast with James Spader, Keanu Reeves, Marisa Tomei, and Ernie Hudson. So what went wrong? Let's find out!

Is Creepshow 2 The Best Anthology Sequel?
It's hard for a sequel to be better than the original; no, hey! Don't close the video, and please hold all hate in the comments until the end of the video. I'm not saying Creepshow 2 is better than the first movie; that's just silly. Creepshow 2 sits in an interesting spot as it lost its original director and writer (for the most part) but does an admirable job trying to capture the feel of part 1. It could be worse right? Part 3 is one of the worst sequels of all time. While I prefer its spiritual successor, Tales From The Darkside, Creepshow 2 deserves its time in the sun and is one of the better Black Sheep's in horror.

Deconstructing Doctor Sleep
The Shining is one of the greatest horror films and novels of all time. So the idea of creating a sequel that properly honors both seemed like a near-impossible task. Enter Mike Flanagan, whose work in horror had gained him quite the reputation for creating high-quality genre work. So join us as we get into how Flanagan convinced King to honor Kubrick's version while still correctly making a sequel to King's novel, as we deconstruct Doctor Sleep.
