Tahoe Chainsaw Massacre Tahoe Lumberjacks 2 The Magnificent Seven Keepin' It Real (Arbo-Real)
Three days and a crew of 7, this episode of Tahoe LumberJacks covers the thinning of the forest around the Tahoe Senior Plaza in late September 2023...Since this was happening right outside my place I decided to grab some shots...special thanks to Jakob "Kwavo" Koiva for the use of some great treetop POV shots from his GoPro AND to Red Rider for the use of their song "Lunatic Fringe"...and thanks to the pinecones for allowing me to take some batting practice!

Las Vegas Shutdown 2020 MiniClip 26 5-28-20 Day#70
The Las Vegas Lockdown 2020 series continues. I have a handful of videos to finish up the series and this is the first of the last 3 or 4 to go. The date is May 28, 2020 (Day #70 of the shutdown), I have only 3 days to go until I leave for Lake Tahoe. The Las Vegas strip looks surreal with almost no human activity other than a few scattered road crews. But that is about to change. Only 24 hrs later the "Summer of Love" will commence, complete with "mostly peaceful protests". I went there 2 more times and to be fair, the protests I witnessed actually WERE pretty non-violent compared to other cities. to be continued....

Lake Tahoe 'LumberJacks'...TIMBER!!
When you've got an army of evergreen trees like the Lake Tahoe basin has, you've also got a need for trimming and even removal of some of the "soldiers" (think of it as an "honorary discharge"). In 2014, a pair of 'Lumberjacks' were brought in to perform a sort of surgery by removing a few trees among many other trees and residences. I grabbed my now-antiquated camera and shot some clips in 720p and then forgot about them...I recently found these clips and threw together a 2-minute video which also serves as a lesson in physics and gravity...Thanks to the Mony Python troupe for their number "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm O.K." (from the movie "And Now for Something Completely Different") used over the ending

Heavenly Tahoe Gunbarrel 25 ski race event
The 15th Annual Gunbarrel 25 at Heavenly resort in Lake Tahoe.... A record number of 200 were on the face at 10am to compete in 2 main themes: fastest to finish 25 laps and most laps completed in 6 hours. If you were in this event, it's almost a guarantee that you'll see yourself in this video (though you might have to watch a few times to see)...while filming, I rode the chair with Cam Steinmetz (Bib #99) a 13-year old who won the Ironboy with 47 laps!

Tahoe Winter Series-Ep.2 Snowstorm drive thru S.Lake Tahoe early evening
The snow is piling up as I drive through a storm along Hwy 50 from the "Y" traversing the town of South Lake Tahoe...it is early evening in this 2nd part of the series which takes us as far as the Marcus Ashley Art Gallery and it's collection of spinning mobiles looking surreal in the fresh snow and a full moon beginning to peek through the clouds

Let's take a holiday season train ride on the Los Angeles MetroRail Gold Line from the Del Mar station in Pasadena to Union Station in Downtown L.A....Then we'll go on a little walking tour of some of the sights at Christmas time including Union Station, Olvera Street, Phillippe's (for a french-dip sandwich), City Hall, Grand Park, The Mark Taper Forum, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion and the Walt Disney Concert Hall (home to the L.A. Philharmonic). At the very end, I include a flashback clip of the ice skating rink at the L.A. Live entertainment complex near Staples Center in 2013...

RIP Jimmy Graff Hotdog vendor-AT&T Park San Francisco Giants (Revised version)
James "Jimmy" Graff was well-known to regulars at San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics home games. For decades he was slinging "tube steaks" (hot dogs) at both stadiums in the Bay area...but on Christmas Day 2019 he was found dead in his apartment. I happened to shoot several short video clips of him over the course of games I went to at AT&T Park (now known as Oracle Park). When I recently heard of his passing I decided to create a short little tribute to this character who was a fixture for so long...Goodbye Jimmy, you ARE missed! This is a "revised" version of an earlier video-I found an additional shot that I just had to include

Going to Oracle Park-San Francisco-style 2022 - Part 2
Oracle Park, home to the San Francisco Giants, is a beautiful stadium that can be accessed in a variety of ways and I've experienced several of them with a good friend who has season tickets behind home plate...I'll be sharing some of these in a new video series I call "Going to the Ballpark-San Francisco-style"...These will include land and sea routes and also involve bicycles, skateboards and water taxis...In Part 1, we saw a fast-motion drive into the city. Here, in Part 2, Mark and I ride a bike and skateboard to the stadium's bike valet...
