Skip The Line In Any Industry, Debunking the 10,000 Rule, Plus/Minus/Equal - James Altucher
This week’s guest is none other than James Altucher. James Altucher is an entrepreneur, active angel investor, writer, podcaster, stand-up comedian, and chess master. He’s also started and run more than 20 companies and invested in over 30. He is the author of 18 books, including the bestsellers The Power of No and Choose Yourself!
It’s true, most know James for being an author and investor. I stumbled upon James almost five years ago listening to him being interviewed on other podcasts. James also has his own amazing podcast which is extremely popular. What always amazed me about James is he thought so different to the mainstream pundits. James was a guy who has lost all his money numerous times, but has found ways to reinvent himself on every occasion, and rebuild his wealth 10x. Whereas most people tell you, “buy a house,” or “put your money in a 401k.” James was actually saying the opposite. Instead of buying a house, James argued you should save that money and build a business. I always valued James’ opinions, because it forced me to stretch my normal way of thinking and to think outside of the way I was raised and brought up. He helped me questions some of my beliefs and ask myself, “Are these even true?”
Fast forward to today, where I got the opportunity to sit down with James and talk about his new book, Skip The Line. Skip The Line is probably James’ best book where he discusses how to get ahead in life without, be in the top 1% of any field, and do it without having to waste your life devoting deliberate practice to obtain these skills and be successful in life. Imagine now in this “New Normal,” where you find yourself losing your job to AI robots. Now, you need to reinvent yourself and figure out a new way to pivot so that you can make money for your family. The skills in Skip The Line is the blueprint or roadmap for this journey. James weaves his own stories of failure and how he later triumphed by using these skills.
James learned early on one of the key skills was ignoring people who said, “You can’t do that…” When a co-worker said to him, “You can’t walk into the office of the CEO of HBO and pitch a show, you don’t have any experience.” But he did, and the CEO agreed to launching the show. James also debunked a lot from the famous 10,000 rule popularized by Malcom Gladwell. Instead, James teaches the reader how to run experiments to yield similar types of results and levels of mastery to that of someone who spent their whole life doing it.
In this podcast, we talk about a lot of the tactics and tools he used to get him to where he was today. The interview was amazing, but only scratched the surface in terms of the level detail found in the book. Be sure to listen and subscribe and get a copy of the book!s

Kill Your Superman To Find Your Wonder Woman - The Relationship Renegades
Just in time for Valentine's Day, I got a chance to sit down with the Relationship Renegades; Emilio Palafox and Rachele Brooke Smith. These two are on a mission to reframe how relationships are viewed and could be. We always hear the following comments: "My wife is such a B****," "there's no good guys out there for me," "don't fall in love, it always ends in heartbreak," etc etc etc. But what if your relationships could be amazing? What if you and your partner formed such a powerful bond that none of these silly comments would ever come out of your mouth, because you knew through thick and thin, life is beautiful, bountiful, and the two of you form a synergy beyond what just one person could accomplish? What if instead of being in a relationship that you HAVE to be in for some unknown reasons, you GET to be in and you're the luckiest person in the world. Like Tony Robbins says, "life isn't happening to us, life is happening for us."
A common phrase they like to use is "Kill Your Superman to Find Your Wonder Woman." In essence, we need to kill our own egos and not care so much about being right, but changing our focus to being happy. The game of life is infinite, and when play for short wins and remain short sighted, and are too busy keeping the score, you'll miss out on the amazing things happening around you.
This was a powerful episode about love, enhancing communication with your significant other, and transforming your relationship to the next level.

Hacking Heart Disease - Dr. Michael Twyman
This week, I interview none other than the biohacking cardiologist, Dr Michael Twyman. Dr Twyman is the originator of Apollo Cardiology, where he's doing some interesting tests than the average cadiologist.
Dr Twyman looks at heart disease and heart attacks much differently than your average cardiologist, as he’s taking in more than just your diet, but 400 other factors! Things like light, circadian rhythm, meal timing, and much more. He answers questions that are always on people’s minds, like “Is cholesterol really bad?” and “the truth behind statins.” We talk about how to prevent heart disease and heart attacks. I was surprised to learn that “most heart attacks are caused by blockages that are less than 50% [blocked].”
Dr Twyman is also extremely bullish on red light therapy and photobiomodulation. Red light therapy Red light therapy works from the inside-out to enhance mitochondrial function in cells. This, in turn, leads to several skin benefits. Red light decreases skin inflammation, smooths skin tone, repairs sun damage, fades scars and stretch marks, and even builds collagen in the skin, which reduces wrinkles. It also heals wounds and can prevent recurring cold sores or herpes simplex. Red light works on the lymphatic system to improve your body’s detoxification abilities by increasing blood flow. It may even stimulate hair growth in your hair follicles.
Dr Twyman explains why he thinks red light therapy is going to be so important right now and in the future. Dr Twyman focuses less on nutrition and more on light, magnetism, and water similar to one of his mentors Dr Jack Kruse.
What I also like about Dr Twyman is he’s a lifelong learner. He attends several motivational/business conferences yearly and has picked up some amazing insights throughout the years from mentors such as Bedros Keuilian, author of the best selling book, “Man Up.” Like Dr Twyman said, “Nobody really has this figured out. Believe in yourself. Make this happen. Imperfect action beats perfection inaction.”

Weightlifting Is A Waste of Time, Grow Muscle 3x Faster Than Weights (Part 1 of 2) - Dr John Jaquish
Almost three years ago, I met Dr John Jaquish, the inventor of Osteostrong and the X3 Bar, at Dave Asprey’s HeadStrong book launch in San Francisco. At the time he was up to exciting experiments and biohacking that other people weren’t talking about. Shortly after, Dr Jaquish came out with a product named the X3 Bar. It was a simple enough looking system with a platform, some resistance bands, and a bar to attach the resistance bands. I saw people using the system, including Dr Jaquish, and thought, “Big deal, why is it so expensive for some bands and a platform?”
However, two things happened to me that changed my mind about the X3 Bar. (1) I had my first child, and quickly realized I had absolutely no time to travel to a gym, let alone even 30 minutes to workout. Interestingly enough, X3 Bar claimed you could get a workout in 10 minutes. (2) I read the Cornell Study, which outlined how athletes undertaking variable resistance training became three times stronger than those doing just traditional free weights. I bought the system and since that day I haven’t turned back.
With the X3 Bar, I am never sore, I have maintained my muscle mass since the days when I was lifting free weights, and best of all, I am injury free. As you can imagine, most people can’t conceive that lifting with the X3 Bar could get you these results in 10-15 minutes of working out. Naturally, I get a lot of questions about the X3 Bar, and the science behind it. I thought it would great to have none other than Dr Jaquish on himself to explain the irrefutable science, and why we have been lied to about lifting weights for so long. Dr Jaquish is known for what some might call flippantly saying “weightlifting and cardio is a waste of time,” but he backs up his beliefs with science.
Since I last saw Dr Jaquish three years ago, he has put on 60 lbs of muscle! Again, people can’t rationalize how he’s been able to accomplish this feat without steroids or some sort of muscle enhancer. Dr Jaquish has, however, been criticized for using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and many attribute his gains purely to that. However, on this episode, Dr Jaquish addresses those criticisms and explains why TRT has had nothing to do with his growth. Instead, Dr Jaquish has altered and refined his diet since he first started with X3 three years ago, which is something we get into heavily this episode. He’s also launched a new product called Fortagen, which is a high quality essential amino acid blend that he credits for helping pack on that muscle mass.
We spoke for three hours and covered so much that I had to break the episode into two parts. In part one, we talk a lot about the science of X3, his new book, why whey protein is bullshit, how to increase muscle through fasting, and much much more. Enjoy!

50 Is The New 20 (Aging Backwards) - Steve Vierra
In this week’s episode, I sit down with the supple leopard, Steve Vierra. I first met Steve almost 10 years ago, where we both worked at the Oakland Police Dept. Steve is exactly 50.7 years old, but he looks and moves like a 25 year old. Steve is a huge health nut, a former bodybuilder, movement specialist, and health expert, and has so much wisdom to offer, I figured it was time to have him on the show.
As a police officer, Steve is expected to be a ‘tactical athlete,” but as we all know, many police officers fall victims to early retirements, due to stress, herniated discs, heart attacks, cancer, etc. One of the things that I think has made Steve age so gracefully and avoid all these common pitfalls seen by most officers is his mindset. Police work is such a negative profession, that only sees the worst in people, and is completely thankless. It’s easy to become jaded and hardened. Not Steve. He always finds the good in something and looks for the opportunity where others aren’t.
MIP09787.jpg
Steve also makes his body his top priority. Steve expresses this thru movement and has taken many courses and many certifications to learn more about the way the body is supposed to move. After a short career in bodybuilding, and tearing his quad, and seeing numerous doctors, Steve talks about this journey thru health and how he never was satisfied with one person’s opinion because “he knew his body” better than any doctor. Steve talks a lot about how awareness is the key to getting over most injuries, but most people lack that completely.
Steve also shares his supplements and daily routines, especially important for first responders that get little to no sleep and work shift work. He’s an avid biohacker, and regularly intermittent fasts, throws and carries kegs for muscle building, does cold plunges and infrared sauna, and much more. If you’re looking to optimize your health, there’s a lot you can look from Steve’s philosophy and approach.

Mastering the Mind with Neurofeedback - Angela Martinucci
Welcome to Episode #010 of "The Hacked Life" Podcast. This podcast is all about biohacking, high performance, mindset, mastery, and health. My goal is to bring the audience health professionals that are doing something different than your regular MD, or high performers that are doing something different that might give you new insights about yourself or life. This week, Angela Martinucci, joins us to share her experience with neurofeedback and why it's such a powerful health modality.
On this week’s episode, I talk to none other than Angela Martinucci. Angela is a Human Potential Coach and a Theta Healer, but is mostly known as being a Neuroptimal Neurofeedback Practitioner. I first met Angela at the 2017 Bulletproof Biohacking Conference, where she hooked me up to a Neuroptimal neurofeedback device.
Angela didn’t discover neurofeedback because she was someone trying to “biohack” her life. Angela was diagnosed with breast cancer over seven years ago. Angela felt her world crumbling. As a nutrition coach, and someone who lived a healthy lifestyle, the diagnosis of breast cancer shattered her confidence and mental edge. Angela tells the story of how neurofeedback helped regulate her emotions and bounce her back to recovery after her cancer diagnosis.
Angela knew something was working, as when she met with other cancer survivors, she noticed they were all taking their Xanax and sleeping pills to help regulate their stresses. However, with the help of neurofeedback, Angela was able to emotionally self-regulate without pills and fall asleep without any harsh medications.
Angela has amazing stories of how neurofeedback has helped her children with anxiety, learning disorders, and just overall emotional regulation (especially when it comes to competitive sports). Many of Angela’s clients come to her for issues with sleep, anxiety, and PTSD, which have disappeared after just 10 sessions. Angela has worked with professional athletes, high level Crossfit competitors, jiu jitsu champions, who have all told her that neurofeedback put them in flow states during competitions. After working with many professional athletes, Angela has began to focus her efforts with professional sports teams such as the Oakland A’s, who have noticed a tremendous shift in their players.
This is an amazing episode guys, and I hope you learn something new that you didn’t. Please connect with me on social media and drop me a line of what you liked and/or learned.

The Power of Mindfulness - Kim Nicol
Consider that everything might be easier than you think it needs to be
- Kim Nicol
In this week, I interview the amazing Kim Nicol who is known in San Francisco for bringing meditation and mindfulness to fast-growing tech start-ups, hacker houses, attorneys, and Fortune 500 executives. A former lawyer, Kim’s practical approach and calming presence have made her a favorite among analytical thinkers. I first met Kim almost five years when she invited a group of us to a meditation session. Kim was probably one of the first people to introduce meditation and mindfulness to me. I remember after the session feeling so powerful, expansive, and clear-headed. Kim explained to the group the science and benefits of mindfulness training, and then left the group with a profound question: “if you all feel this amazing right now and you understand all the benefits from mindfulness training, then why aren’t you doing it everyday?”
I heard her say this and I myself couldn’t answer the question. My answer or excuse was, “I don’t have time,” or “I don’t want to make the time.” And the truth of the matter, was sitting in silence and being “mindful” was difficult for me. I remember hearing Russel Simmons, the CEO of Def Jam records at one time, say that if you can’t sit and practice mindfulness training for 20 minutes, then you should be doing it for two hours. He’s probably right, because I know when I am consistent with my mindfulness training, I am much more effective and patient in all areas of my life.
You don’t want to miss this episode, where we cover: how to integrate mindfulness in your everyday life, how to cultivate mindfulness with your children, why managers, especially new ones need mindfulness training to become better leaders, and much more.

Cov!d Vax Injured: How to Detox, Heal, & Thrive Post Jab - Brittany Galvin
I have a special guest who I watched over the last two years go through hell, as she recovered from the Moderna product. Brittany Galvin, was a hardworking mom and breadwinner for her home and had worked her way to the VP of sales in her career after 17 years. She was forced to get one of the new experimental products in her body in 2021, and although she wasn't necessarily anti-the products, she just felt like she didn't really need it at the time. The problem for her Brit, was she already suffered from numerous auto-immune conditions and was worried that the products might have triggered a negative reaction, which they did.
Brit was one of the first to go viral with her videos showing her cell phone sticking to her skin like a magnet post-jab. Her Instagram page has been censored and removed at least three times now after building her following up to 100k. She talks about what it was like to be told her symptoms were not real, ending up in a heroin detox clinic instead of a hospital (because they thought she was a druggy not suffering from post-jab symptoms), and ultimately her road to recovery and thriving.
She has become a huge leader in the vaxx-injured space and a beacon of hope for many that have lost their health or careers during this period. Brit has not only made a magnificent recovery and explains how in this episode, but explains how her road to recovery led her to a new job with Nutiva CBD. If you're interested in joining her team, go to her IG which I linked below and learn from one of the best.
