The cognitive function is a mental process that helps you learn information or make decisions.

INFPs understand emotions on a whole different level.
Questions to ethics become very intriguing to INFPs. For example: “what determines an ethical or moral action?”
Authenticity is very in touch with the subjective human experience.
Authenticity is where we humans find conscience. Because that’s when we ask, “how do we honor people’s individuality?”
Oftentimes, INFPs become masters of human experience in general.

Do INFPs truly want to be understood?
Nobody could be 100% understand them apart from themselves.
INFPs feel being marginalized and dismissed way more than being misunderstood.
INFPs seek validation.
We want to acknowledge that they have a specific type of pain based from their personality type.
Authenticity type should be balanced with Exploration. Exploration (the co-pilot function) is about advanced pattern recognition in the outside world – thinking behind the curtain.

Art is one of the places where INFPs thrive.
Art is a communication of feeling and INFPs simply flourish in this context. They create art that’s impactful.
For INFPs, they tend to recall how they felt/reacted in the past.
They have the ability to mirror emotions. They don’t need to mirror emotions in real time. For example, the can look at an art piece and mirror the emotion to themselves.
Authenticity people tend to recall how they feel/how they imagined they would feel and then instantly replicating the emotion inside them.
The emotional language can be transferred in long extensive periods of time.
In order to be authentic, you need to have a mature and vast understanding of how the world works.
Intent: The Darker aspect of Authenticity. INFPs tend to try to give a reason that’s combated with logic.
INFPs tend to defend their intent, because they see a wide array of positive and negative intent. They understand how people can easily go and slip into bad intent.
Healthy INFPs view everything has positive intent.
Being able to understand that darkness is universal and part of the human experience will help you accept yourself.
How to go about making a living as an INFP?
Getting something done can sometimes be very challenging for INFPs.
INFPs have the desire to make an impact and be an inspirational leader. Oftentimes, they will disregard the passion they have. Passion is extremely important.
Authenticity people can have the tendency to marginalize people. Make sure you do what you’re passionate with. Check in with yourself what you really want.

All the emotions that’s happening in our minds are under our control. But how do we control it? On autopilot, how do we make choices? How in control are we over ourselves?
You’ll realize that our choices are already premade for us.
The movie helped get sympathy by letting people look at what’s going on inside the mind of another person.
Sometimes we identify our emotions apart from us. We are the holistic person but at the same time, the parts that are inside us can easily be hijacked.
Autopilot happens when you pre-program instructions.
What have we pre-program into autopilot?
Oftentimes we get distractions from what we plan to do – what we really ought to do. These distractions shift us back to autopilot.
Emotions can conflict each other.
Anger is the space/emotion that we usually prefer during arguments. Getting some space and staying away from the argument does help, but it’s almost always hard to do it unless if you pre-program or condition yourself to do it.
Thoughts are concentrated emotions. All the habits we do, the thoughts we have and the words we say are basically conglomerated stories in order for emotions to make sense.
Figure out ways to make decisions before they’re needed, to pre-see those emotions and so you can control these emotions and not the other way around.
If you want to take control of your emotions and be resilient, figure out ways on how you can deal with it in advance.
Both of our emotions and thoughts are controllable, but they’re not controllable in the moment. So if you need to control them, you need to precede systems.
Is a thinker or feeler more controlled by their emotions? Since feelers are taking emotions into account more often, they have the to be focusing and looking at them. Thinkers, on the other hand, when they are controlled by their emotions, it’s because it’s coming in from the shadows.

Morality is like an old way of dealing with technological problems that have no means of fixing it. It is basically created for the lack of technology.
Are these old ways of moral thinking still applicable today?
The concept of what’s moral are principles of what’s good and bad / what’s right and wrong.
What should we do when we get to a point when the moral stance no longer faces the technical difficulties? Do we maintain the same position as we did before if it’s no longer generating the same problem? Do we still see it the way we used to? An example would be the mosaic law which is mostly not applicable anymore these days.
Is it possible that the moral stance was made in order to solve problems? Create more problems? Or is it because of its moral universalism?
Oftentimes, people will transform personal preferences into morality.
Anytime we don’t have the technology to understand issues, we tend to build a moral stance around it.
We have to leave our weigh these complicated situations.
There a lot of useful and misleading information in the internet that you need to use your gut and intuition. These days, we don’t always have a definitive answer anymore.
Before the internet age, people used to rely on acquiring answers the traditional way like encyclopedias. Now, we have an surplus of information which, unfortunately also include misleading information. So when the question of morality comes up, we have a plethora of information available to us and we have to make a choice.
How you feel should be the right calibration of you showing up in the world. When morality fails us, it influences us to behave in ways that are not life affirming. It leaves us asking, “what’s the ethical thing to do?” When this happens, you need to reach out to your core. Your core values can be flexible and not a solid state of “right and wrong”.
If we can’t identify what our core values, or if we are solving a problem that’s no longer relevant, we end up being counterproductive in becoming productive and happy.
Referencing your own system of morality, is it rigid or is it possibly based on something that’s no longer relevant?
These days, information no longer comes from one source, it comes from a wide array of different sources. We have to claim our intuition and what make sense and meaningful to us as individuals.
When we have a rigid moral stance, we turn off information that goes contrary to it and we stop inputting information. If somebody is offering a different perspective, we tend to get offended and shut off any feedback/information that’s given to us.
Anybody who has complete total rigidity will get left behind in social technology.
The antidote to moral rigidity is actually being actively for information that goes contrary to your worldview.

Have you ever been in a company where people seem to be very alive? Or maybe on a company where morale is low?
Company culture is important because it can make or break your company.
How do you get that desired culture and make sure that everyone else is onboard with morale?
How do you bring everyone to the same level?
Tribal leadership is one of the best leadership models to not only figure out but also have an action plan to bring people to higher levels.
In business, it’s really important that your people are empowered at their jobs/roles.
We love creating tribes as people. Whether it’s at the workplace or a small group, we just love tribes.
In the book (Tribal Leadership), a tribe is described as a group of people comprising about 20 and 100 people. If it’s less than 20 people, they call it a team. If it’s over 150 people the tribe divides into two different tribes. This is because 150 people are too many to handle and manage.
You can tell what makes a tribe successful based on its culture.
Tribes are almost always powerful than leadership.
If you want to change the culture, you alter the language or the words that are used in the culture.
The culture of the tribe is all about stories and narratives, like how we believe we’re communicating with each other within the tribe.
The 5 stages of culture levels.
Tribal 1. Behavior is undermining. The language being used at this level is “Life Sucks”. Only 2% of the population is at level 1. Anything new that’s introduced will be dealt with suspicion. People in this level will assume that more will come. There’s a sense of undermining anything that can possibly be positive.
One the best ways to help move people from level 1 to 2 is to alter the language being used. Reinforce the concept that other people’s lives don’t suck. Introduce the idea that other people are having an awesome time at work. This will help them realize and reframe their mentality. Help them understand that there’s positivity happening elsewhere. Encourage them to join group meetings and have people articulate success and great positive stories. Keep the negative language at a minimum. Encourage them (people at 1s) to no longer hangout with other
Tribal 2. Instead of the universe sucks and seeing the world as a terrible place, people of this level thinks that their life sucks and everybody else is having a great time. Instead of being aggressively undermining, it’s more of a victim mentality. Instead of being alienated from the team, it’s more of separation. 25% of people are at this level.
To get a 2 up to 3, it’s a matter of changing the language and then really helping them understand that they do bring something to the table. Encourage them to establish those 1-1 relationships. Assign them projects that will give them quick success. Give them the emotion of empowerment.
Tribal 3. This has the highest level of population at 49%, nearly half of everybody. “I’m great, everybody else sucks”. It’s the idea of “you’re awesome and everybody else sucks”. The behavior is described as a “lone warrior”. This can be seen in many types of cultures. Everybody wants to be the expert. You can see this in the professional world like doctors, lawyers and architects. People in level 3 have this mentality because there is no actual goal that the community is working toward. Since there’s no bigger goal to accomplish and you can only see competition.
In most cases, you will see 3s organically level up to 4s as they grow older. It’s the language of making everyone feel that they’re all awesome. Have bigger ideals that everyone is working towards. The ideals does not have to be corporate missions. It could just be core values. Core values create a language and story amongst the tribe.
Tribal 4. “We’re Awesome” and the other tribe sucks. At this level, the importance of relationships is understood in a deeper level. Access to resources are done triads. The resource is able to expand his networking reach. The idea is about being awesome and how we’re all great as a tribe. Tribal 4 is a bit idealistic. Example: professional American football.
When 4s work on a project, that’s when they level up to 5. When the project is over, they shift over to 4 and check in what the competition is doing.
Tribal 5. This group only has 2% of the population. “Life is great”, “The universe is great and everyone is wonderful”. There’s a lot of infrastructure alteration in order to attain 5 and you need to go through all these levels to get there.

When you work out of your flow state, and this is when you go into your inferior process (3-year old), you feel very tired and drained at the end of the day.
We end up customizing and optimizing things when we are exposed to different options to choose from.
The concept of ergonomics is making people feel happier.
It’s all about understanding the people who work for your company and how you can bring out their flow state. This will help them feel rewarded and fulfilled while doing their jobs. They’re always gaining energy at work because they’re at their best.
Even though we don’t have to change the job roles and description or hire someone for a certain type, we can at least assume that once the person is in that position, their environment is conducive for their flow state.
Accuracy people are more focused about data, so anything that’s very emotional like workplace dramas and politics will throw them out of their flow state.

In this episode Joel and Antonia point out the cognitive biases we all tend to use and offer alternatives to them.
IN THIS PODCAST:
Cognitive Biases happens in our minds because we have these programs or scripts from ancient wiring. These wirings in our heads existed so long ago.
These scripts result in multiple cognitive biases and these can be harmful.
How can these scripts mess us up or help us? Why do they exist?
When a person’s subjective perspective or social experience overrides the objective data, it generates an irrational or illogical conclusion.
These scripts that you are running are processes that are replicable.
Our brains naturally work so that once we figure out a way to do something, our brains acknowledges the strategies we’ve implemented as effective strategies.
On a biological level, our brains are creating mental super highways and protects it with a layer of fat. For example, when we drive our way to work, we don’t need as much focus or concentration as before. We can listen to some music and still be able to arrive at our destination.
On a subconscious level, our brains have already created these systems many years ago. There are scripts that we inherit biologically. Some of these scripts put more emphasis on different people like our family members compared to strangers.
Example: if our child is in peril and a stranger is in peril, our minds tell us to save our child instead of the stranger.
Cognitive biases are universal and this isn’t something that we can get away from. Everyone is doing it all the time.
Language, in a substantial way, create cognitive biases.
The more aware we are of these biases, the more we understand what’s going on with the situation.
Example, the belief that you’re the only ones with the truth, wherein you’re the only one who knows how the world operates and that others are wrong.
One of the most common type of bias is the confirmation bias. This is when you look for more information in order to support your belief.
Another example of a cognitive bias is if an argument has internal and logical consistency, we tend to think that it’s true. There are a lot of biases that move us out of the premise and let us divulge on details.
Pretty much everything that comes in our life is subjective experience because that’s all we know.
Depending on where you are at life and the level of your personal growth, you will have different sorts of cognitive biases. Here are more examples:
Stereotyping. Seeing a certain group of people as having unified action and intent.
The availability heuristic. The tendency to overestimate the likelihood of an event from the past based on how recent it was or how emotionally evocative it was for us.
Information bias. The tendency to seek information even when it cannot effect action.
Sunk cost fallacy. “I put so much in, I can’t disconnect now”. This is where you put much money, time and effort into something that didn’t work out well. You feel that it’s hard to let go of it and you think maybe soon, you will see the results you want.
Pareidolia fallacy. This a psychological phenomenon involving a stimulus which is perceived as significant. People see things that aren’t there but it creates a belief system on them.
If we look at cognitive biases as tools to lead us to what we truly desire, the cognitive biases that we’ve employed are leading us to the ultimate desires of our hearts. We may say that we want happiness, but we have cognitive biases that prevent us from achieving happiness.
It’s not about changing the biases we have, it’s really about changing and examining what it is that we truly desire at the core level that will impact the biases that we use as strategies.
The true desire of our heart is to be right in some way.
Example: If the piece of information has contradicted to what I believe was true, I would resist looking at that information because of the bias that it had. This removes other possibilities that could shed deeper understanding of the truth.
You can use cognitive biases to get what you want.
Manifesting is a tool that is built from cognitive bias yet people implement manifesting to basically get what they want.
Manifesting is an entire discipline around the cognitive bias that help people consciously get what they consciously want.
When people address themselves are pessimists, optimists or realists, these are all cognitive biases.
No matter what our biases are, it’s more about looking at them as tools and not just looking at it as a fixed stand point but as tools for navigating space and life and throwing out everything that doesn’t help you. It’s about taking control of your life and not living through autopilot.

In this episode Joel & Antonia blend 3 frameworks together (general semantics, systems thinking and Graves Model) applying them to the recent Baltimore City riots of 2015.

Albert Einstein said, “If I had only one hour to save the world, I would spend fifty-five minutes defining the problem, and only five minutes finding the solution”.
Why did the riots happen if it started as a peaceful protest?
Far more people were protesting than rioting. People feel marginalized or mistreated often by police force.
When it comes to managing life, some people tend to take the faster route or shortcuts. For example, when trying to lose weight, some would prefer taking in pills instead of altering their diet or physical activities. Because we have this mentality that life is moving so fast, we become indifferent with finding high quality solutions. As a result, we end up in the same pattern over and over again.
We aren’t really spending time in thinking and arriving with the best solution for the problem.
How do we create sustainable solutions to the problems we’re facing?
There were 10K protesters. Why are so many people feeling unheard in Baltimore City? Why did peaceful protesting turn into rioting?
The first system was the concept of general semantics.
There are different classifications of people who are protesting and rioting.
Idea of systems thinking – the idea that there’s no such thing as direct cause and direct effect.
There’s still different nodes in the system. So what are the other things that are influencing the emergent of riots?
Riots are the symbol that the system is not right.
Baltimore’s Graves’ level. Being able to breakdown exactly where people fall in the Graves help make it no longer exclusively racial.
In both the black and white communities, you can see a strong Graves’ 2 and 3 culture represented which is unusual. There’s something about the city itself that encourages people to stay at Graves’ 2. New folks (Graves’ 5 or 6) who are moving in and establishing new and cool businesses are welcomed well. Anywhere you have a lot Graves’ 2s, you will see a lot of Graves 3s. Graves 3s are war leaders.
Graves’ 3s don’t have that long timeline and they also have that neighborhood mentality but it’s not about unconditional love, it’s about domination and control.
Hence, when riots occur, they’re mostly Graves’ 3s.
The resistance to go to Graves’ 4 is understandable.
When we are in a certain level of development, we tend to forget what it is like to be in the previous level. This results in clashes because we forget the other person’s world view.
Being able to understand these maps and models generates an ability to figure out what’s going on.
As you’re dealing with challenges, ask yourself these questions:
What reality are you creating with your words?
What words am I using?
How am I oversimplifying things?
What are the nodes of the systems that I’m not seeing?
What’s the Graves’ level that’s going on with people?
How are we dealing between clashes on Graves’ levels?
What personality types are we basing? What are they doing when they’re defensive?
What strategies are we implementing in order to run from our biggest fears?
Having all these models available around you will make you understand what’s going on.

Falling in love with yourself is a lifelong romance.
As human beings, we have the capacity to solve complex problems, solve challenges and do extraordinary things. But why aren’t most of us doing this?
Our insecurities and lack of self-love prevents us from being at our best.
When we constantly focus on our problems, we tend to get stuck there, limiting our abilities as amazing human beings. It removes our ability to truly understand our capacity as human beings.
If we fell massively in love with ourselves and we no longer question whether or not we’re deserving, we would have the ability to understand and meet our full potential.
In some cultures, when you express how you truly love yourself, people will see you as self-centered and egocentric.
So what can you do to fall in love with yourself? Not just a personal development tool but a strategy for helping the bigger problems of humanity?
The 4 Greek definitions of love.
Storge. The love you have for family or anyone you’re genetically connected to. The reason why we have storge love for our family members is because we share DNA with them and from the very first single cell that transformed into a complex human being. We are basically one big human family.
Nobody’s closer and more familiar with your DNA structure than yourself. So can you develop storge love for yourself? In addition, self-love in Storge means protecting your body – eating healthy, working out, etc.
Eros. Greek word for erotic love. This is the type of love we mostly see in our pop culture. So how do you develop Eros love for yourself? No matter what type of relationship we have as individuals, throughout our life, we are the one person that we’re travelling through life with. So developing romance with ourselves, falling in love with ourselves is an expression as of Eros love (taking yourself to romantic dates by making yourself happy and pampering yourself). Romancing yourself can be a really powerful experience of expressing love to yourself.
Philia. Friendship or brotherly love for a human is expressed in the friends we choose. It’s loving yourself as a friend. You are the only person who’s gonna go through life, so why not be your own friend throughout that experience?
Agape. Love that is unconditional. It’s about loving other people just because they’re people. It’s a deep sense of loving humanity. Other people also call this the “god “or a higher form of love. This form of love gives a sense of general well-being. It’s loving people simply because they exist.
When we’re talking about falling in love with ourselves, even when you feel that you’re unlovable and see yourself as a terrible human being, the Agape principle of love will allow you to love yourself. It will allow you to give space because it is based on principle not on any specific action you took or way of thinking. You love yourself because you exist.
Can you show yourself such extraordinary love that you’re abundant with it, you can’t help but share it with everyone else?

We put in a lot of energy on these events and we feel that we can’t just move on the next level.
The HAT model stands for Healing, Achievement and Transcendence.
Useful in identifying the best coaching type, it allows people to uncover their overarching need that’s unmet in the moment in order to get them to the next model.
Healing – Anytime you have trauma, this is something you need to attend to.
Achievement – You’re at a baseline of health and you’re trying to get to the next level.
Transcendence Work – is anything that has to do spiritual or ego work.
Healing from a trauma doesn’t have to be an awful experience that left you damaged. Healing can be a minor traumas we’ve picked from experiences in life and you just need to re-assess your value as a person.
The three components of the HAT model may seem confusing to contrast at first because they look alike. One can get them jumbled and having this model helps frame things.
It appears that there are more people who are comfortable in the healing component and finding the piece of trauma is interesting to them. No matter what area that they should be focusing on, it’s almost always going to happen on the lens of healing.
People can also get stuck when they skip the achievement piece and just rely on the transcendence piece.
We will have so many mysterious things happen to us for from within. Oftentimes, we just really don’t feel for a long time and we’re not sure what’s going on.
Thinkers have the tendency to ignore their emotional challenges that they focus more on the physical, tangible stuff (e.g. pain).
When we avoid development, it leads to mysterious depressions, illness and that feeling of “can’t seem to get to the next level” because we don’t know how to fully manage the drive that’s inside us.
The first step is awareness or understanding what’s happening. Be proactive to identify what you need to address.
Identify the issue when its presence is unknown.
You need to run towards pain, embrace it, and realize that it’s just perception.
With healing, we can talk about our existing issues.
With transcendence, it’s all about yoga. The uncomfortable side is questioning your beliefs and finding out who you are for the first time in your life.
One of the reasons why we get stuck is because we stay in our comfort zones.
You can easily identify people who have focused on the three components efficiently.
The least comfortable portion is where you need focus on and go.

Question: Which one are you more attracted to? Which one would you say more represents how you view people becoming larger than life?
Getting instant powers has a correlation with the concept that things are either bestowed upon you or not. You are either the lucky recipient of something great or not.
As a result, some people end up sitting down waiting for that “spider bite”.
“American Idol” and “YouTube” are good examples of the Spiderman concept.
Where can we find our personal success? How can we frame and rewire success in our minds to encourage us to go to the pathway to success?
Any project gets easier when you refine your skills and get better.
There are some skills you need to learn in order to become successful. Luck comes to those who are prepared.
Oftentimes, the lack of clarity of what you really want obstructs your work dynamics.
The Analysis Paralysis state may happen to all personality types when they want to know everything first before taking any action.
Get into action with what you love right now. What is beautiful to you just now and you want to pursue it? Figure it you and get into action.
When you do what you love, you’ll gain better clarity as you go and figure out what the programming is that’s causing you to not get what you want.
Figure out your limitations, whether you’re a doer or a planner and pursue the other side.
Overall, the likelihood of getting success is higher when you’re doing something rather than doing nothing.

Everybody has a path to wealth creation and you are going to do it on your own way.
Every single personality type has a single specific function or mental process or hardwiring. The hardwiring of your mind has the first point of entry that’s referred to as your dominant cognitive function or your driver mental process – this is the lens where you see life.
Understanding your type based on your wiring is very powerful than knowing your 4 letter Myers Briggs code.
Introverted Sensing – is used by all SJs (ESTJ, ISTJ, ESFJ, ISFJ). Memory is more about being in touch with concrete reality. Impressions of the world is being understood through memory – a learning process that captures info and later on, thinks about it. Taking new info to old info. This is a past oriented learning process, so this more traditional. Example is Martha Stewart – she’s had more influence on how Americans eat, entertain and decorate their houses.
Extraverted Sensing – is used by all SPs (ESFP, ISFP, ESTP, ISTP) basically the mental process that’s real time, using information in the present moment. It’s using information based on what’s happening right now. All of these types are very good in understanding information within and beyond their 5 senses. If memory is focused on looking in the past, sensation is about the present moment. What am I seeing and engaging right at this time? Adrenaline comes in as a factor and advantage. People of this mental process have high kinesthetic abilities. Example: Donald Trump – generating wealth in real estate. He loves the adrenaline rush of being in the game and making deals. It’s more about the deal than it is about the money.
Introverted Intuition is used by all NJs (INTJ, ENTJ, INFJ, ENFJ). They use the perspectives process to pattern-recognize how people think. It’s an ability to escape from your own perspective and watch your mind form patterns. Example: Charlie Munger (which is the right-hand of Warren Buffet).
He uses his perspectives process in order to anticipate trends. Perspectives is future oriented. He started as a real estate attorney but stooped to work on investment management full-time. On a creation/creator standpoint, maybe an author who creates an entire world for the novels, the perspectives process can be used to build giant timelines, entire worlds and systems that’s created out of thin air.
Extraverted Intuition. NPs (ENFP, INFP, ENTP, INTP). Exploration is about pattern recognition in the real world. Connections are made fast. Example – Ashton Kutcher. Ashton is an actor in Hollywood and now he’s into business investing where he is pattern recognizing how Hollywood and Silicon
Valley are merging.
Extraverted Thinking. TJs (ENTJ, ESTJ, INTJ, ISTJ). Effectiveness is all about what works. They value all things that bring results at the end of the day. Oftentimes, Effectiveness people are really good at managing projects and timelines. They understand how to talent scout. They’re great in creating systems.
Example: Jack Welch, the CEO of GE for many years. He led the company into a 60 B a year company.
Introverted Thinking. TPs (INTP, ISTP, ENTP, ESTP) Accuracy is about what makes logical and analytical sense. This process is interested in systems, it’s more about being a mechanic. It’s about taking all the best stuff and conglomerating. Example: Tony Hsieh. He focused more on the employees than the customers.
Extraverted Feeling. FJs (ENFF, INFJ, ESFJ ISFJ) Concerned about the emotions and needs of people. What will get people’s needs met? How can I make sure that they’re getting taken care of?
Example: Oprah Winfrey. Oprah has been facilitating conversations about getting needs met.
Introverted Feeling. Process used by all feeler perceivers FPs (INFP, ENFP, ISFP, ESFP). Some INFPs and ISFPs feel like they’re hardwired to not know where they should be heading with wealth generation.
Example: Richard Branson made his wealth by starting Virgin records. He was fulfilling records. He’s hardwired to go take risks and work in alignment with his values. He used his innate hardwiring to create massive wealth.

We almost look at companies as representatives of us in a commercial system.
Contrasting to the Graves Model, Graves 5 – we’re seeing an awkward transition from Graves 5 to
Graves 6.
As individuals, it brings more responsibility on us to know where we stand as people and to ask ourselves if we really know what our core values are. Is our livelihood in integrity with our core values?
If our livelihood is endangered, are we in integrity with our values enough? Do you know who you are enough to say that you are in alignment with how you make your money?
A lot of people demonize corporations and this is because they have such extraordinary influence and it appears as though they use their power for evil and self-serving purposes. So the companies are being made more accountable.
It may come to a point where people won’t be okay with companies that are standing on neutrality.
The world is advancing from one Graves level to the next. It’s entering the time period of systems thinking, ecology and value impact.
We are moving into a bigger ecological level. So where are we actually at? In order to make a huge impact in the world, we need to become better versions of ourselves.
The reason why it’s important to help people attain a positive and healthy relationship with wealth generation is because the world is already exiting. In order to make an impact, the relationship piece should exist. Having this kind of relationship/awakening will enrich your connection with people who are making an impact. In order to make an actual impact, you need to be in front with the movers and shakers.
Society holding businesses accountable on a moral level indicates that if we don’t get our resources handled and managed well, we’re going behind the barge and our ability to make an impact is going to be neutered.

In this episode Joel and Antonia talk about the Cashflow Quadrant model of making money developed by Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad.
The Cashflow quadrant was developed by Robert Kiyosaki.
Most people walk through different parts of the cashflow quadrant.
Visualize a quadrant, draw four boxes.
Top Left Box = E (Employee)
Top Right = B (Business)
Bottom Left = S (Self-Employed)
Bottom Right = I (Investor)
Employee. In Robert’s theory, we all typically start our lives at the top left of the quadrant. We literally trade our lives and hours with a form of compensation from an employer. We start working for someone else based on giving the skillset to the employer.
Self Employed Quadrant – You own a job, you are the business, and whatever you offer (services and skills) is coming from you.
Business Owner – You employ more people, scaling up to the leadership role. Does not require the owner’s presence. A one degree of separation from being self-employed.
Investor – Create and buy own investments.
Looking at this model, which one of these quadrants are you in? Where are you at? How does it affect your relationship with money?
All of these levels are mindsets. When you’re self-employed, you see a direct correlation of your efforts vs the money you earn.
Both being an employee and self-employed are the highest tax positions to be in, which means you are going to pay the most.
What’s the scaling difference that happens when you level-up from being self-employed to becoming a business owner? When you begin investing, you start seeing business as complete assets.
Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger are one of the wealthiest people who are investors.
It’s not about money, it’s about value.
The wealthiest people don’t think in terms of time and money, they think about systems and value creation. True wealth is not about the salary you draw, but it’s how about the systems and business you’re investing and the value that you create.
You may run into one of the quadrants and feel like it’s not comfortable for you. However, even if it doesn’t come natural to you, it’ just a phase where you can learn so you can graduate to stage where it’s natural for you.
The model helps you to understand how people can help in your business.
We all possess all these great components in our personality type that help in wealth generation.
If you are having challenges getting up to the next quadrant, look for someone who can help you, preferably someone with a different personality type.
You might just love being self-employed, and you don’t want to scale, maybe you’re comfortable in being an employee, and that’s fine.
If you want to make a big impact, if you want to be a game changer, your relationship needs to changes to how you’re engaging with value.
When you want to make and bring value to the world, you need to get out of the employee mentality.
What value are you going to create for the world? Where are you at in the cashflow quadrant right now? What do you think are some of the powerful lesson that you need in order to move to the next quadrant?
Affluence brings influence. If we have a more sophisticated relationship with money and value, we will make smarter choices for the society. We will feel more empowered as people so that we can make starter choices for the society.
Whatever you do, when you bring value, you will be rewarded back for it.

Disagreements and fights commonly occur within relationships. Counselors and relationship experts often tell you that people fight about sex, money and family issues. Why is it that this is a recurring issue among couples? What are the solutions?
Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of Needs is a lifelong achieve to go from the bottom to the top tier.
These are our fundamental human needs and we come in and out them from time to time. These needs are not fixed nor constant.
There 5 different levels in the pyramid.
The bottom level is the “survival level” or the physiological needs – food, shelter, sex. Once this is established, we graduate to safety and security needs.
Safety and security needs – the feeling of being safe like financial security, health and wellness.
Love and belongingness– being romantically accepted, emotional needs are taken cared of.
Self Esteem – when we want to accomplish something that’s bigger, something that contributes to ourselves and other people.
Self-Actualization –happens when we feel good spiritually, we feel like we’re more than just the sum of our parts. We have a lot of abundance in resource and we feel that we can give back without feeling like it’s costing us anything.
Most of the common issues that couples fight are in the first three tiers.
Money issues are huge and is a safety and security need. Whatever the issue is, it all comes down to blaming your partner about and not realizing that there’s a need going unmet.
Donkey Smuggling – Smuggled emotions happen because people feel unsafe. You can remove the blame game by asking “Which need is unmet”.
Example – if you haven’t eaten for the entire day, your mood will be affected which increases the risk of you diverting (blaming) your mood towards your partner (other people).
Understanding the model (Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs) helps anybody understand and look at the problems and not the person.
Getting your needs met is the way to give back to other people.
Talk about your partner and try to ask which needs are unmet
Get each other’s back as a couple. Support each other by fulfilling each other’s needs.
How can we manage our feelings as individuals so that we don’t feel unsafe?
Relationships do well when needs are met.
When you and your mate are in a tense discussion, think about relationships in getting needs met.

In this episode, Joel and Antonia talk about Imago Relationships and relationship patterns we tend to repeat over and over as humans.
IN THIS PODCAST YOU'LL FIND:
The concept of Imago Relationships was introduced by Harville Hendrix in his book “Getting the Love You Want”.
Imago is the Latin term of “image”. We have an image inside our heads of what love looks like based on our relationships with parents, teachers and the ones we love. Depending upon what kind of love interaction you had, you will pick up different love habits and certain markers that mean love to you.
People look for those markers because that’s where they are very familiar.
We also have unmet needs. It doesn’t matter how great your parents were because no person can fully meet another person’s needs. In time, you will meet someone who reminds of a deep unconscious level about your parents, sibling or anyone in your life. When you enter into a relationship, initially it would be fun but eventually, you will be unhappy because of needs that go unmet.
There’s a concept in Imago relationships that you actually end up with the person because they can’t meet your needs. Whatever it is, people will look at those markers because that’s where they’re familiar and comfortable. It’s probably why people who were very abused when they were young are looking for someone who have experienced the same thing.
We all enter the world wanting love, love is the number one obsession we have as human beings.
We’re constantly looking for markers of love and that becomes love to you (no matter what form).
The concept itself brings something that’s unconscious, then it makes us conscious and aware of what we’re doing. For example: “why am I entering with a relationship with this person, when I know it’s not good for me?”
According to relationship therapy philosophy, we enter in relationships in order for us to grow. It effective shines a light on our wounding which opens the opportunity to do something about it. If that happens, you can either justify the feeling you had or you can re-evaluate and say that it’s an expression or feeling you need to identify and work on.
People who are in the Imago Relationship have the tendency to blame the other person because they’re not getting our needs met.
As you mature, you realize that not one person can meet your needs. Look for the markers that are coming up. Anything you have tension in your relationship, or anything you feel bad, if your insides hurt, there’s something you need to work on.
Everyone has their own triggers. If you are in an Imago relationship, use that as your tool so you can see what you need to work on.
You need to understand who you’re with. When you have a loving relationship, you have positive intent for the person vice versa. The less you blame the other person, when you remove the defensive vocabulary, the more you grow, your partner understands you better and the relationships get stronger.
Marriage is the tool in order to bridge intimacy and commitment. We need to remember that we humans don’t serve the relationship; marriage is not the ultimate thing or focus – we are the focus.
Instead of attaching so tightly to the desired outcome, look at why you are attached. Ask yourself, “what need is going perpetually unmet in me?”
Whenever you’re doing things that are not contributing to your personal happiness, that is an inroad in the imago of a need that is unmet.
When you open yourself up, it can feel terrifying in the moment, but would you rather live a life where you repeat things over and over and you’re not getting to the next level or would you rather risk the relationship, grow and take the relationship to a deeper level?
The one thing you cannot escape on the planet is yourself. Stop fearing that person, don’t live in a situation that leads to your suffering or misery.
There are limitations to the type of imago relationship you’re going to enter. You wouldn’t want to enter an imago relationship where you face physical abuse.
The only thing a relationship where being single can’t is being with another person all the time.
As a single person, do everything you can in order to meet all your needs as possible.

In this episode Joel and Antonia talk about the Pygmalion Project and our tendency to try and make our lovers into what we want them to be in our relationships.
The Pygmalion Project – is the concept is that polarity creates attraction. When two people get into a relationship, the initial attraction now becomes unendurable.
Pygmalion was a character in Greek mythology who shaped his perfect woman out of marble and came to life.
When we take somebody and make them our perfect ideal, what we really want is to turn them into something like us.
Once people get into relationship, those differences are no longer viewed as differences but flaws.
How do we handle wanting to fix somebody and make them more pleasant to us?
Keirsey’s concept was that the more we understand the other, the less we try to fix it. Understanding personality types can help fix this as you learn to appreciate that this is just the way people express themselves.
Oftentimes, employers are looking for someone who’s great at everything. We get this idealism that expect all from people and that is unrealistic. As an employer, you should hire someone who should make up your insufficiencies. When it comes to relationships, we are always looking for a perfect mate that just can’t exist.
It’s common for introverts and extroverts to get in a relationship.
Introverts appreciate the energy of the extrovert (example – they do a lot of talking). They like that they’re pushing them out of the shell. However, when they get into a relationship, they just feel that it’s too much.
Models help us figure out the root cause of the behaviors. Understanding the root cause will help you realize that the things you perceive as a flaw from your partner are just differences and uniqueness which will make you appreciate and love them more.
The things that you don’t understand from your partner is a representation of their genius.
Oftentimes, we see the negative and the positive expression of something and we don’t realize it’s coming from the same place. Example: every instrument can be used as a tool in a positive and negative way. Regardless of our personality type, if we are proficient in something, we can use it for good or evil.
When we see something being used as a weapon, oftentimes we want to remove the weapon from the person not realizing that it will also remove their ability to build.
A negative expression doesn’t mean that the person is turning into a weapon.
Hold space for the differences, if the person end up weaponizing the tools, don’t immediately jump to the conclusion that you need to change them. Remember that we get to choose how we interpret the way people behave toward us.
Get familiar with models and personality psychology. Learn to understand the person and assume positive intents.
One of the most important qualities you can bring to your relationship is looking for positive intent from your mate. Assuming everything comes from love and positivity, that’s a predictor of a long term relationship.

Gary Chapman outlines love in 5 different ways. These love languages are very powerful and we all have different ways of expressing our love to our mate.
We’re often unaware that we speak in different love languages. When this happens, misunderstanding occurs because you’re going to think that the person is denying or withholding love from you.
The 5 Different Love Languages
Words of Affirmation. Expressing love through affirming words like how proud you are of your partner or maybe a nickname that only the two of you use dearly. It could also be the way you speak highly of them in public.
Quality Time. Spending a lot of quality time. There are people who just want being present by the quality of time they spend with their mate.
Gift Giving. Expresses love by finding that perfect object that will make the person happy or to receive a gift.
Acts of Service. Doing the dishes, getting the oil changed in the car. Working hard to provide for the family.
Physical Touch. Through touching and physicality. Examples include but not limited to snogging, holding hands in public, kissing in public and giving a massage. This is more than just sex. Sex is a fundamental need and is part of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs.
When couples have different ways of expressing their love (example – you’re a quality time person and your mate is an “acts of service” person), misunderstanding occurs and sometimes, causing one or both partners to feel “not loved”.
It’s a matter of finding out what’s your love language and how are you misinterpreting selfishness.
So how are you going to find out your partner’s primary love language? Test it, try giving them gifts for example and check if it creates a big impact to them.
Oftentimes, the language you use to give love is not necessarily the language you get from the other person.
The way that we receive love and the way that we show love might be different. Knowing not just what you and your mate are but what your receiving and giving language is, can be very powerful.
If somebody is expressing love in a way that’s unfamiliar to us, keep in mind that it’s an attempt for them to show love intimacy.
The more we can see positive intent from our mate, the more we understand that they want to feel intimacy, being able to understand the love language model helps maintain the intimacy and maintain a healthy relationship.

Write down the 5 love languages and rate yourself and your mate from 1-5 (1 being the highest). Invite your mate to have their own list and talk deeply about it.

If you are getting different results from other personality testing sites, how can you figure out your personality type?
Oftentimes, when you answer some of the questions, neither of them feels good or right for you so you end up with a different personality type.
We want you to know for sure type. Especially when you have had more than 3 types.
You can go look for professionals like Personality Hacker who can guide you in unveiling your personality type.
The vast majority of people are not difficult to type but there are 2 groups of people who are challenging to evaluate:
Underdeveloped individuals – people who have personality disorders
Extremely developed individuals – people who have been working hard on themselves and are very balanced.
There are couple of principles to remember and very important to establish in the self-typing to process.
Everybody is unique. There are 7 billion people in the planet so expect a lot of difference and variation. So when you’re looking at information about your personality type, you need to look at more factors and examples.
Personality Typology is a Powerful Tool. It’s important to remember that most of the real value of the system is located somewhere deep and complex. Understanding the complex contexts allows you to understand yourself in a deeper level. There’s so much more information, you need to get to the deeper principles before you can unravel your type.
Once you know your personality type, that’s the starting point to get more answers about who you are as a person. It’s a code that lets you know how your mind learns and absorbs information.
It’s not about the behaviour, it’s more about how your mind works. When two people behave in a similar fashion, it does not mean that they have the same personality type.
Behaviour emerges from a personality. If you see someone who behaves like you do, it doesn’t mean that you have the same personality.
There’s going to be someone or anyone who will say that they are the one who can give you the answers and key to your personality.
So what are you going to do if you got more than 1 results (Myers Briggs)? How can you figure out your personality type?
Look for patterns. Figure out what you’re consistently testing out and narrow down your results.
Discover and learn more. Read profiles from various online sources and assess which one resonates the most with you. Once you’ve narrowed down in about 2, do further research. One type should surface and will resonate with you the most.
You know yourself better than anyone else.
You will know (as soon as it happens) when you get your best fit type so read a lot of descriptions, keep on reading until you run into one that is the best description of yourself.
The point of personality types is to guide you in the good direction. When you run into the right profile, you will notice that they are quite unique – it’s like finding the right coach. If Myers Briggs doesn’t work you, look for a different model.

The English language’s flexibility in the parts of speech is the main key to its popularity. However, due to its flexibility, we seemed to lose a lot of distinction on the language we use and this can cause a lot of misunderstanding.
When communicating with other people, sometimes we expect that they will perceive the same representation or picture inside our head which is not true. Words that have no physical representation can be very challenging to picture because they lack the physical component
Alfred Korzybski – the map is not the territory.
General semantics (originated with Alfred Korzybski) is the concept that the language we use to transmit or express our ideas, feelings and thoughts in the world are always lacking and insufficient.
The words we use are simply a way of trying to convey information to each other and when we mistake that words are ultimate and definitive, misunderstanding occurs.
Unfortunately, we end up getting more attached and dependent to words, and we mistake words for the ultimate thing.
If we over generalize people and oversimplify, it will lead to unhappiness because we only see the world in just one dimension.
We need to come up with better ways to speak in order to represent reality.
You will not see the solution to the problem when you generalize and over simplify. The words we choose to define reality are very important. If you are an English speaker, there’s limitation the language because it doesn’t have much distinction. Hence, we need to define more frameworks and subsets especially when solving problems. These distinctions are very important to best way to customize your growth as a person.
Other languages have many representations of a single word. In the English language, subsets can be introduced in order to categorize different sets of definition.
In relation to Personality Development, the more distinction you acquire and learn in personal psychology, the more you understand yourself and grow.
Nothing should be considered absolute and static. General semantics is a powerful tool to see the world. It is intended to be a finer tune instrument for making evaluations. The language we use is not reality. The more understanding we can create, the more problems we can solve.
