Striking & Deflection Simple Intro Drilling • Jujutsu (jiu-jitsu / jujitsu) & Karate || Atemi Kumite
One simple drill incorporating soto uke (outside block), mawashi geri (roundhouse kick), and basic movement. Like all drilling, layering of more complexity and intensity is a must. However, these types of drills, and this is just one example of many, are essential for jujutsuka (jujutsu practitioners) to develop the striking (atemi-waza) element of our jujutsu as a integrated and complete system of self-defense.
This form of drilling can be used as warm up but can and often is definitely ramped up in a variety of ways.
The Jukido method or style of jujutsu (often spelled jujitsu or jiu jitsu as well) preserves the essence of the Japanese art. This means maintaining the art as a complete fighting system with realistic self-defense as the most fundamental of the its physical objectives. Classical approach in objective but modern in its need to adapt to present-day realities. In addition to a core curriculum for instinctive responses to Habitual Acts of Physical Violence (HAPV), the Jukido system of jujitsu has a fully developed curriculum of striking (atemi-waza), throwing (nage-waza), and katame-waza (grappling).
