Overview
The Survivor Auction is a special Reward Challenge where the players are temporarily relieved from competing in strenuous challenges. Instead, they will be given a specific sum of money where they must outbid the other contestants for certain items, mostly food, with instances where a temporary use of amenities or a visit from loved ones are also offered. There are also instances where there are game-changing powers that contestants can outbid on, such as the power to send another player to Exile Island, an advantage at the next Immunity Challenge, or a clue to a Hidden Immunity Idol. The host would pound a gavel on the auction table, denoting that the item has already been sold.
At pre-determined points, the host will offer covered items which will remain covered until there is a winning bidder. In connection to covered items, there are also "trap items," which reveal an undesirable prize, such as exotic food items or boiled water from their camp. Also, the host will sometimes tempt the contestant to trade his/her chosen item for another sealed item, which sometimes reveal a "better" item(s), or sometimes a more undesirable one(s).
In later seasons, players are to outbid on items that would benefit the entire tribe, such as all-tribe food items to be eaten in a certain amount of time, or extra food supply. This could serve as doing a favor for the tribe, in order to establish a better position in the game, perhaps expecting their tribe to return the favor.
Rules
Prior to the auction starting, the host announces the guidelines of the auction. In order for a contestant to bid, they must adhere to the following rules:
Castaways are given a predetermined amount of money (which may vary from local currency to USD) and can choose to bid as many times as they wish using however much money they have.
The host would open the bidding with a flat rate that follows the prescribed increment (if bidding is at $20 increments, the host may open the bidding at $40). This rule has been abandoned in recent seasons.
Bids will be in increments at the host's discretion. Castaways can, however, immediately bid a large amount, or all of the money in their possession, in an attempt to instantly win a desired item.
"Pooling" (sharing money along with the item up for auction with other players) is permitted, as long as they share the item and/or vice versa. This option has been voided since Cook Islands.
Food which is bought must be eaten before leaving the auction area.
The auction will usually end without notice.
Sealed/covered items will remain covered until the item is sold.
Host Jeff Probst has revealed that after the auction, the contestants may keep their unspent money. Jeff even claimed that some contestants intentionally do not bid because they would rather have the money.[1] Notably Tarzan Smith in One World considered implementing this tactic to replace the shocks on his car before changing his mind and purchasing his Loved Ones letter from home.
If two or more people who have all their money want to bid all of it on the same item, they will draw rocks to decide who wins. This rule was implemented starting in Cagayan.[2]
The person with the most money left at the end of the auction will lose their vote at the next Tribal Council. This rule was implemented starting in Survivor 45.
Impact
The auction is well received by fans, primarily with seeing the contestants enjoying food and sharing it with their tribemates or keeping it for themselves. It also provides insight as to whether or not a castaway will risk what they have bought in order for a concealed item, which is typically exotic local cuisine or an..

Kellie Nalbandian is a contestant from Survivor 45.
Well-liked and well-positioned within the Belo tribe, Kellie's abundance of strategic options allowed her to enter the merge with solid alliances and numerous paths to get to the end. However, her threat level did not go unnoticed and ultimately the Reba Four made a pre-emptive strike, blindsiding her on Day 16 to take out a clear threat over a dead man walking in Jake O'Kane.
Profile
Retrieved from EW.com
Age: 30
Hometown: Weston, CT
Current Residence: New York, NY
Occupation: Critical Care Nurse
3 Words to Describe You: Scrappy, deliberate, intuitive.
Why do you want to be part of Survivor? I started watching the show while working through the COVID pandemic as a nurse in NYC. It was the most difficult thing I've ever done, but it taught me that life is short and can change overnight. So why not go for what you want full tilt? I think that spirit of perseverance and true humanity is woven throughout this game. Plus, I love the adventure [and] competition — and who doesn't want to run extreme adult obstacle courses?
What's one life experience you feel has prepared you for the game? Definitely being a nurse. I became an EMT at 18. I've worked in the emergency room, now in critical care, and through COVID as a nurse in NYC. These experiences taught me to be rational, perceptive and emotionally intelligent in sustained stress and chaos. Not to mention, doing this on a night shift for 12 hours at a time, often without a break to rest! Nurses are tough — but we're also empathetic, comforting, and vulnerable. That combination will help me greatly in the game.
Which previous player do you identify with the most? Who do you think you will play most like? I totally relate to Kelley Wentworth's tenacious, scrappy vibe. But I think like Parvati, I have the ability to connect with and draw in lots of different types of people with charm and authenticity but still maintain an independent ruthless mental strategy. I'd also like to draw inspiration from Cirie, as we are both nurses!
What will you value in an alliance partner? I'd like to play with people that I not only trust but also understand their motives. They don't have to be traditionally predictable — I just have to "get" them and vibe with them! And hopefully we can have some fun together!
Favorite Hobbies: Playing acoustic guitar, watching/playing soccer, and taking board games way too seriously.
Pet Peeves: Inefficiency and know it alls.
What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Working through the COVID-19 pandemic as a nurse in NYC — it showed me I have a lot more resilience and grit than I thought! I'm also proud of being my nursing school valedictorian and getting into Yale for grad school. I think people really underestimate nurses' intelligence, but I live to prove people wrong!
What is something we would never know from looking at you? I am a little nerdy. I love strategy board games and video games.
Who in your life is your biggest inspiration and why? My fiancé, Gabrielle. She has persevered through difficult times against the odds and became not only successful but through everything, been the most genuine, generous, empathetic, individual who brings everyone together.
Why will you be the Sole Survivor? My job requires me to be adaptable in the face of constant chaos and change, just like this game! I'm a chameleon, I can bro out with jocks, nerd out with nerds, be besties with the girls. There's no one I can't bond with! I think I will surprise people. At the end of the day, I'm fully prepared to manipulate and blindside my way to final tribal, where I can get votes from my friends on the jury.
Trivia
Kellie was an alternate for Survivor 43.

https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/Survivor_45
Survivor 45 is the upcoming forty-fifth season of the CBS competitive reality television series Survivor.
Production
The 45th season was filmed in the same production cycle as Survivor 46 and, despite the lifting of COVID-19 safety protocols, retained the 26-day format established in Survivor 41.
On May 10, 2023, CBS announced Survivor 45 as part of its fall programming schedule; in a first for both series, it was confirmed that Survivor 45 and The Amazing Race 35 will air 90-minute episodes instead of the standard 60-minute episodes, making for a 180-minute primetime block.[3]
Bruce Perreault, who was evacuated on the first day of Survivor 44 due to a serious head injury, was formally invited by Jeff Probst to return to Survivor 45 on the first episode of On Fire with Jeff Probst,[4] which he accepted.
Twists/Changes
Shortened Game
Returning Player: Bruce Perreault was invited to compete on the season following his Day 1 evacuation in Survivor 44.[5][6]
Tribe Division: The 18 castaways were divided into 3 tribes of 6. No unifying theme was used in dividing the tribes.
Penalties for Losing Immunity Challenges: The tribe that lost an Immunity Challenge was forced to surrender their flint to Jeff and could only win it back if they won the next Immunity Challenge.
Shot in the Dark
Hidden Immunity Idol
Simplified Final Four Tribal Council: Instead of a traditional vote, the person who won the final four Immunity Challenge got to choose one person to take with them to the Final Three. The remaining two castaways competed in a fire-making challenge to determine who would be eliminated.
Reformatted Final Tribal Council: Instead of having each jury member speak individually, an open forum was held to ensure a more insightful rapport between the jury and finalists. The discussion was divided into three portions—"social", "physical", and "strategic".
Trivia
Survivor 45 is the first season of Survivor to feature only one returning player.

A STORY OF INNOVATION, PERSISTENCE, EXCITEMENT – AND IT’S THE JUST THE BEGINNING.
Our Story
COLDEST was founded by a team of Engineers in 2014 with the one goal to create the COLDEST products. Founded in the hottest state of Florida, we wanted to build something to keep us COLD. It started with a water bottle and has since grown into so much more.
Here at COLDEST, our motto is "We build things to help you stay colder, longer", but what if you also could make the social media colder, cooler...revolutionary stuff, right? With a loyal community of people that love having the coldest things, we have amassed over 500,000 followers across all platforms. We got there by being a brand that knows what the people want: Tons of giveaways and cool photos that make you go, "wow, those are cool photos". So what are you waiting for, join the COLDEST family today!
THE MAGIC OF THE COLDEST
Our history starts at the present, and as you scroll down, you’ll travel back in time, to where it all began.
State of Coldest
November 18th, 2022
Coldest is now almost 8 years old. Time flies - what happennned!? We started in 2015 as a hydration company but today it's become the Coldest Everything Store. 3 years ago, in the midst of covid, we were battling the biggest waves as a business that we had ever faced - We went from 8 employees to 1 employee (me doing fulfilment) then all the way to 80 employees. And let's reiterate that - all in 3 years. Not only that we, had sales crash to nearly 0 per day. We were headed to 0.
Yesterday was a huge milestone for us and it's worth noting. It full loops into what I wrote 3 years ago in our state of Coldest -"Yesterday I was visiting several warehouses in search of our first main distribution hub with a min of 15,000 sq ft. In comparison, our current warehouse is 2400 sq ft.. This will likely require internal Coldest Trucks, manned by coldest team members who will drive them. We will do everything internally, just like Elon would do."
Today, we have over 15,000 sqft of warehouse space. And just yesterday- we got our first Coldest Truck - seen pictured below! I'm mindblown. This is literally going to be huge for us as we can restock our store at Coastland center here in Naples, but also expand to a second warehouse as we're starting to outgrow our existing 15,000 sqft warehouse! What!??
I think one takeaway to learn from all this is - baby steps is the key to where you want to go. There is no way to jump from 0 to a 15,000sqft warehouse. We worked out of my backyard prior. Or to go from 0 to a truck. These things take very serious overhead. We slowly and continuously reinvested everything back into Coldest with the belief we would one day get Coldest Truck(s). Today we find ourselves in a much different position. Our products are continuously getting becoming more superior than the rest (in my opinion/and in our fairly scientific *but not scientific* disclaimer cold tests against Yeti/Hydro/xyz) and we're finding delightful advancements in engineering in all areas. We are still absolutely obsessed with our current products and- Everything to this point, is still focused on products that I and Joe (my twin /COO) use and love every day- which I think is in partwhat is helping us grow (Insight - #2). From the Coldest Bottle, to now Coldest Dog Bowls for my dogs (Simba, Keywei, Dobei, Nala) - to less sweaty nights sleeping with the Coldest Bedsheets, Pillow, and Comforter, to ice packs that I use for recovering from soccer injuries - You can see where I'm going with this. So what's next? The universal bottle just released. It's our new, minimalist triple lid, multi-compatible super insulated bottle that fits in 99% of cupholders, and soft landings, fully insulated and custom to the market. It's the first of its kind because of what it is - there is more than meets the eye. Most things you see out there are generic's/copies of others. We went our own path and combined everything we had for the...

Honeymoon or Not? is the tenth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
Challenge: Hanging in the Balance
Winner: Nick Brown
Day 27
The Immunity Challenge is a tug-of-war on platforms in the water. Two people will square off at a time. The final round ends up pitting Colby against Nick. After a hard-fought battle, Colby falls in the water and Nick wins a much-needed immunity. With Nick safe, the only other Kuchas, Rodger and Elisabeth, feel vulnerable. Jerri and Amber settle on booting Elisabeth. However, Colby, Keith, and Tina are unsure. They know that it may be strategically safer to stick with Ogakor, but they don't like the idea of keeping the annoying Jerri over the extremely kind Elisabeth.
At Tribal Council, the tables are finally turned on Jerri, and she is shocked to find herself booted by a 6-2 vote. "Checkmate," says Jerri as she gets her torch snuffed. "You guys got me." Jerri joins Alicia on the jury.

One member of each tribe will face off against an opponent in a game of tug of war. The person that pulls their opponent into the water first scores a point for their tribe.
History
United States
Australia
The challenge debuted in Champions v Contenders (2018), where the mechanics of tug of war were combined with a variation of a log-rolling competition, with the opponents being challenged to balance on barrels. The Champions won the challenge and the breakfast reward that came with it. After losing the challenge, the Contenders were told to elect two members of the Champions to face off in a final round, with a larger breakfast spread at stake. The Contenders pitted Mat Rogers against Steve Willis, with Mat taking the win.
The challenge was modified for use as a team challenge in Champions v Contenders (2019). Teams of opposing tribe members will pull on a rope, attempting to drop a pole to break the other tribe's tile. The first team to do so scores a point for their tribe. The Champions won the challenge for burgers and beer.
The challenge reappeared in All Stars, with the barrels from the original version of the challenge removed. Vakama won the challenge for a reward of personalized packed lunches.
Switzerland
The challenge debuted in Expedition Robinson 1999 (Switzerland) as the opening Reward Challenge. Every member from both tribes pulled at opposite ends of the rope. The first tribe to get the rope's center to cross a stake in the ground wins. The North Team won the challenge and got to pick their team's name and camp.

Trivia
Both times this challenge appeared, the season's tribe colors were green, blue, and orange.

Expedition Robinson 1999
Rules
The North Team won the challenge and got to pick their team's name and camp.
https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/Rock_the_Boat
Rock the Boat (also known as Shake It Off) is a recurring Survivor

Trivia
Both times this challenge appeared, the season's tribe colors were green, blue, and orange.

Honeymoon or Not? is the tenth episode of Survivor: The Australian
Day 27
When the duo returns to camp, Colby gives each tribe member a piece of coral that he took from the reef. The Ogakors discuss which Kucha to target at the next vote. They agree on Nick, who is challenge threat, though has also been feeling sick lately.

Trivia
During the reward trip, Colby Donaldson broke an Australian law by breaking off coral from the Great Barrier Reef which could have resulted in a fine up to AU$110,000. Survivor's producer Mark Burnett apologized on behalf of Colby and the production team after the season had aired.
The Immunity Challenge this episode is the only one this season that isn't won by a former member of Ogakor.
This is the last Tribal Council of The Australian Outback in which Colby Donaldson is not immune.

Honeymoon or Not? is the tenth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
Challenge: Double Play
Winner: Colby Donaldson and Jerri Manthey
Day 25
The Barramundi tribe's food supply is running low. They're down to just one supply of rice, and the stormy weather has made it impossible to fish.
The tribe gets Tree Mail about the Reward Challenge, telling them to divide themselves into pairs. The tribe decides to draw names out of a hat. Jerri ends up with Colby, while the other teams are Amber/Keith, Tina/Rodger, and Elisabeth/Nick. The challenge, an obstacle course, promises a majestic trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Jerri and Colby beat out Amber and Keith to claim the prize.
Day 26
Back at camp, the helicopter arrives to take Jerri and Colby to their reward. Jerri says that winning two consecutive rewards may irk her tribemates, but "I couldn't give a flying crap." During a meal of sandwiches, fruit, and champagne, Jerri tries to flirt with Colby, but he ignores her come-ons. They then go snorkeling at the reef. Jerri calls it "one hell of a first date." Colby calls it a nice break from the game.

Rules
Castaways must race through a series of physical and mental obstacles. The first tribe, team, or individual to complete the course wins.
History
United States
The challenge was first used as a tribal Immunity Challenge in Borneo, with each tribe having two pairs racing through obstacles. The first pair must run the first half of the course before meeting up with the second pair at an obstacle called the "blown bridge". Once they reach the other side, all four members must run the second half of the course to the finish line. In a close race, Tagi held a narrow lead throughout the challenge, crossing the finish line seconds before Pagong, sending Pagong to Tribal Council.
The challenge reappeared in The Australian Outback where the final eight were required to split up into pairs consisting of one man and one woman in a Reward Challenge. Two pairs would face off in each heat, with the winners of each heat then facing each other in a final heat. In the final heat, the team more physical team of Colby Donaldson and Jerri Manthey maintained a lead from the pair of Amber Brkich and Keith Famie, holding onto it to win reward.
In Africa, the castaways are again teamed up in four pairs of two. Like in The Australian Outback, the winners of the first two heats would face off in the final round. In the final round, the unlikely pair of Brandon Quinton and Frank Garrison defeated the pair of Ethan Zohn and Kim Johnson to win reward.
In Thailand, the final eight were divided into pairs and run the course in two separate heats, with the winning team in each heat again facing off in the final round. However, the winning pair would then face each other in a puzzle. In the end, the team of Brian Heidik and Helen Glover came out on top, with Brian besting Helen in the puzzle to win reward.
In Pearl Islands, the challenge took place at the wreck of an old Spanish galleon. The castaways again ran in pairs, with the winning pair in each heat moving on to the final round. In the final round, each pair would have to run the same course, but now collect bags of puzzle pieces along the way, then use the...

Friends? is the eighth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
Challenge: Don't Fence Me In
Winner: Keith Famie
Day 24
The Immunity Challenge is a life-size version of the pen-and-paper game "Dots and Boxes," in which players must complete squares by connecting lines between dots. Keith has a huge turn by taking 17 squares at once, giving him his second straight Immunity victory, despite Tina trying to make a run for it with 16 squares.
As the vote approaches, Elisabeth is hopeful that she can turn the tables on Jerri. Alicia, though, is less optimistic. She thinks that either Nick or herself will be booted, because they're the biggest challenge threats on Kucha. At Tribal Council, Alicia's suspicions are proven correct. Deemed as the strongest remaining Kucha female, she is booted in a tight 5-4 vote over Jerri. Alicia becomes the first member of the jury.
Trivia
After this episode, Elisabeth Filarski is the last woman remaining from Kucha.

Production
Filming was known to have commenced during the Survivor: Borneo reunion show which was hosted by Bryant Gumbel. Gumbel had Jeff Probst via phone patch where Probst revealed that they started filming. Filming took place at Goshen Station in northern Queensland between late October and early December 2000, and aired from January 28 to May 3, 2001, on CBS. The location used was within a three-hour drive off the coastal city of Cairns and located in a wet, tropical area.
In the middle of filming, Colby Donaldson, who won a trip to the Great Barrier Reef as part of a reward win, broke off coral which he intended to keep as a souvenir. During the same trip, a production helicopter flew over restricted sea rookeries. Both of these events led to the show being fined $100,000 Australian dollars. Executive Producer Mark Burnett apologized on behalf of Colby and the production staff after the episode aired.[2]
The season was released in DVD format on April 26, 2005.
Twists/Changes
Longer Game: The game lasted 42 days, three days longer than the previous season.
Tribe Composition: The sixteen castaways were divided into two tribes of eight.
Merge: The merged tribe was composed of ten members.
Final Tribal Council: Two finalists faced a jury of seven. The jurors individually addressed the finalists.
Tiebreaker: In an event of a tie vote, a revote would take place. If a deadlock occurs, the votes cast against the players in question from previous Tribal Councils will be taken into account. The castaway that had more votes would be eliminated from the game.
Season Summary
The sixteen castaways were divided into two tribes, Kucha and Ogakor. While Ogakor began the game strong by winning the first Immunity and Reward Challenges, Kucha quickly rebounded and won the next Immunity Challenge, reducing Ogakor to five members. Ogakor broke their losing streak by winning the Day 15 Immunity Challenge, sending Kucha back to Tribal Council; after a medical evacuation, Kucha lost their third member, merging the two tribes with five members each. The ten remaining survivors called themselves the Barramundi tribe.
The 5-5 stalemate caused the tribes to be deadlocked the first time they went to Tribal Council, but Jeff from Kucha had past votes, bounding the former Kuchas to extinction. Three of the five former Ogakors, Colby, Keith and Tina, became the deciding factor in most of the votes, even eliminating two of their own when they could afford to before finishing off the remaining Kuchas to make themselves the final three castaways. Colby, who had dominated in the challenges and was known for his chivalry, chose the mother figure Tina over the unpopular Keith, sending the latter to the jury.
At the Final Tribal Council, the jury was torn between Colby's eight challenge wins...

ELISABETH
“ (voting against Jerri) Tonight I'm voting for Jerri. I just feel it's her time to go, and she gets really cranky when she's hungry, and it's bumming me out a little. ”
KEITH
“ (voting against Alicia) Alicia, you're a great gal. This is just strictly part of the game, and it's part of our process. I look forward to hangin' out with ya. ”
TINA
“ (voting against Alicia) Alicia, I want you to take this vote as a compliment, because the only reason why you're getting this vote is because we see you as the biggest, strongest competitor on the old Kucha tribe. Miss you, girl. ”
AMBER
“ (voting against Alicia) My vote's for Alicia, and girl, you are strong inside and out. And, uh, that's the main reason why I have to vote for you-- 'cause you're threatening. So, this is a respect vote, and I'm going to miss you a lot. ”
COLBY
“ (voting against Alicia) Alicia, man, you rock. Uh... I've had a lot of fun getting to know you, and I really, really wish this didn't have to happen the way it does, but it is part of the game plan that was set into action a long time ago, and this is the way we've chosen to play. Um... I just... I just, wish I wish it didn't have to happen so soon. ”
RODGER
“ (voting against Jerri) Nice kid, but way too loud. Way too loud. ”
JERRI
“ (voting against Alicia) Alicia, this is extremely hard to vote for you because we are so similar, and I feel like I really bonded with you, and there are -- we just have a lot of similarities. Um... but I want you to know that this is a flattery vote. Because, not only do you intimidate the hell out of the women around here, but also the men. They are scared to death of you. So, I wish you the best, and I look forward to seeing you sitting feet away from me every three days. ”
Final Words
ALICIA
“ I have to say that I was expecting this. We knew that I was going to be a threat, and I just hope somebody from Kucha can take this thing out and break Ogakor's spirit. It's all good, though. Now I get to sit on the jury and watch everything that happens. Peace, out. ”

Story
Day 22
After Jeff's elimination, the ex-Kuchas start to scramble, knowing that they are in trouble now that Ogakor has the numbers advantage. Rodger speculated that the Ogakors will pick them off one by one, but he tried to make himself useful by catching fish. Still, Keith and Tina aren't sure they want to eliminate all the Kuchas before any of the Ogakors. They want to go to the end with people they like and respect.
Jerri continues to annoy everyone around camp with her bossiness. Elisabeth hopes to take advantage of this crack in the alliance. Elisabeth shared her plan with Rodger and Alicia, then tries to work on Tina. Tina says that Jerri "will get hers" at some point, but won't make any promises about when it will happen.
Day 23
The next Reward Challenge tests the castaways' boomerang-tossing abilities. Jerri beats out Amber by a nose, winning a meal of shrimp, chicken, and dessert. Jeff allowed her to bring someone with her, and Jerri chooses Amber, the second-place finisher and her closest ally. While Jerri and Amber are off enjoying their delicious meal, the other tribemates back at Barramundi camp seem to like Jerri's absence. They agree that it is much more peaceful without her. Jerri and Amber's return to camp is greeted with indifference. After Jerri talked strategy with Colby, Colby interviews that he has promised Keith and Tina he will go to the final three with them, but that he has also told Jerri he is allied with her.

Day 19
As the merge awaits, Kucha discusses strategy. Kucha and Ogakor will each have five members, so Kucha suspects that there will be a tie at the first Tribal Council. Their plan is to target Colby Donaldson. Jeff Varner, meanwhile, thinks that he will be Ogakor's first target. At the first Reward Challenge, Kimmi Kappenberg revealed to Ogakor that Jeff had received a prior vote (from Debb Eaton), which would make Jeff vulnerable in a tiebreaker situation. Still, Kucha vows not to give up. They recall Michael Skupin's final words before he was evacuated: "Somebody from Kucha needs to take this money."
On Ogakor, as the tribe speculates about which Kucha member had to be evacuated, the tribe receives Tree Mail. It tells them that the men should travel to Kucha, while the women remain behind. Meanwhile, Kucha's Tree Mail says the opposite—that the women should travel to Ogakor, while the men stay behind. Alicia Calaway and Elisabeth Filarski set off for Ogakor, while Colby and Keith Famie head to Kucha.
Day 20
At Ogakor, Amber Brkich, Jerri Manthey, and Tina Wesson are surprised to see the Kucha women arrive, having expected the men. Alicia and Elisabeth tell the women about Michael's accident. Over at Kucha, Jeff, Nick Brown, and Rodger Bingham are a bit disappointed to be wining and dining with the guys instead of the women, but they share a meal of chicken with Colby and Keith anyway. They, too, get caught up on Michael's injury.
At Ogakor camp, a rain nearly snuffs out the fire, and the tribe's only matches are away with Keith. Jerri tries not to criticize Keith so that she does not tip off the Kuchas that Keith has prior votes. Jerri cooks her "famous" tortillas for the women. Everyone has decided that Kucha is the better of the two camps, but both tribes get Tree Mail telling them that they must move to an entirely new camp. There, both tribes meet and find a crate of food and wine and a set of all-new orange buffs, signaling the merge. The merged tribe settles on "Barramundi" as its new name. The tribe celebrates, but there is some tension as Jerri and Rodger disagree over where to set up their new camp, with Jerri ultimately getting her way.
At the first individual Immunity Challenge, the contestants drop out one by one as host Jeff Probst tempts them with food, and Jeff jumps off his perch at an offer of peanut butter. After more than ten hours, Alicia finally caves for some hot coffee, leaving only Keith and Tina. Keith begs for Tina to let him win. "I need this," he tells her. Tina agrees, and steps down, and Keith wins the first individual challenge.

Colby, who had dominated in the challenges and was known for his chivalry, chose the mother figure Tina over the...

History
United States
The challenge made its debut in Survivor: The Australian Outback. After 90 minutes, Nick stepped down. Colby quickly followed after. Four hours in the challenge, Jeff Probst offered the remaining contestants peanut butter, chocolate, and apples if they stepped down. Rodger and Varner bailed out for the food, which they shared with Colby and Nick. Jerri and Amber jumped down for ice cream and hot cocoa after 6 hours and 47 minutes. Elisabeth asked for a boat ride back. Jeff complied and Elisabeth stepped down after 8 hours and 58 minutes. After over 10 hours in, Jeff returned with coffee, hot cocoa and a ride back to shore. Alicia finally caves, leaving the final two contestants, Keith and Tina, to fight it out. Keith asked Tina to step down. Knowing he had the most votes cast against him, Tina concedes. 10 hours into the challenge, Keith won immunity.
The challenge reappeared in Survivor: The Amazon. After 30 minutes, Jenna wanted peanut butter and chocolate so badly that she stripped naked for it. Heidi would join her. Jeff held his end of the bargain and got chocolate cookies, peanut butter and soda for Jenna and Heidi. Roger, who was having trouble anyway, opted out without any food temptations. One hour after the challenge started, Jeff offered pizza. Butch, Rob, and Alex took up the offer. The next item on offer was buffalo wings, which Dave and Matthew took up the offer. The final food offered was spaghetti and meatballs. Christy and Deena, the final two competitors, both wanted it and decided to end the challenge. The pair decided to split the food and play rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets immunity. Christy picked scissors while Deena picked rock, meaning Deena won immunity.
The challenge was reused in Survivor: Palau as the first individual Immunity Challenge. Jeff asked Tom if Stephenie was a free vote. Coby intervened by saying this was a game and everyone wants her vote. Coby stepped down for doughnuts. Janu quickly followed because she had back pain. Jeff asked what does it say if people give up immunity for doughnuts, which Stephenie responded they don't care if they go home or they are confident. Caryn asked for peanut butter. Ian comically offers to strip naked for peanut butter and chocolate, referencing Jenna and Heidi doing just that when the challenge was used in Survivor: The Amazon, which Jeff said that no one wanted to see that. Tom wanted balut, to which Jeff replied saying there were none. After two hours, Jeff offered 15 chocolate chip cookies for any who jumps in 15 seconds. Jenn, Katie, Ian, and Gregg all took up the...

Day 21
At Tribal Council, the votes are split by tribal lines. The five ex-Kuchas vote for Colby, while the five ex-Ogakors vote for Jeff. Colby and Jeff each make a statement pleading their case after the votes are read, and the other eight Barramundis revote. Nothing changes—the vote remains tied.
To break the deadlock, Jeff Probst asks Colby and Jeff how many votes they have received at previous Tribal Councils. Colby has none. Jeff has two (from Debb and Kimmi). That dooms Jeff, who brings his torch to be snuffed.
In his final words, Jeff blames Kimmi's big mouth for tipping off Ogakor about his previous votes. He also regrets about giving up on the Immunity Challenge for peanut butter.
Trivia
Keith Famie lasted 10 hours and 17 minutes to win the Immunity Challenge. This set the record for the longest challenge, and would hold the record until the Final Immunity Challenge in "The Ultimate Shock".
When the deadlock tiebreaker began, Jeff Varner claimed that he had known of only one vote, from Debb Eaton during the first Tribal Council. Host Jeff Probst had not revealed Varner's other vote from Kimmi Kappenberg during the fifth Tribal Council.
With Jeff's elimination, this episode marks the first time in the series' history where the female castaways outnumbered the men, 5-4. This would not happen again until Peter Harkey was voted out in "Back to the Beach".
Jeff stepping down for peanut butter would be mentioned by Probst at the Worlds Apart Reunion Show before Jeff was revealed to be competing in Cambodia. Probst asked Jeff if he still eats peanut butter, to which Jeff confessed "No, haven't touched it in 14 years."

The Gloves Come Off is the fifth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
Challenge: Triage
Winner: Kucha
https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/Rescue_Mission
Rescue Mission (also known as Triage and Mayday) is a tribal challenge in Survivor. Tribes must use a stretcher to 'rescue' tribe mates located in the wilderness.
Rules
Tree Mail will indicate that each tribe is to construct a stretcher (or similar piece of equipment) using designated supplies. At the challenge, a given number of tribe members will be taken out into the wilderness. The remaining competitors race to find their tribe mate(s) and carry them back to the mat on the stretcher. The first tribe to "rescue" all of their tribe mates wins the challenge.
History
This challenge debuted in Survivor: Borneo as an Immunity Challenge. Simulating a plane crash, the smallest members from both tribes (Kelly Wiglesworth and Colleen Haskell, pretending to be plane crash survivors) were sent to the middle of the jungle and harnessed into a parachute dangling from a tree prior to the challenge. Tribe leaders chosen by the tribe (Susan Hawk for Tagi and Joel Klug for Pagong) guided their tribe members to rescue the survivor and proceed to the "first aid tent". Pagong won the challenge and immunity.
The challenge reappeared in Survivor: The Australian Outback as a Reward Challenge, with the tribes instructed to build a triangular structure known as a travois. Two tribe-members played the part of the accident survivors, while the rest of the tribe raced to find them and carry them back, one at a time, to a "first aid tent". Kucha won, receiving blankets, spices, and soup mix.
In Survivor: Cook Islands, the challenge was used as an Immunity Challenge. Four players untied and assembled a wooden puzzle stretcher then run to the beach. One tribe member then swam out to a mast to free a hostage, then they both swim back holding a life ring. The hostage gets on the stretcher and is carried back. Thereafter, the three remaining tribe members will build a fire tall enough to burn through a rope to lower their tribe flag. Aitutaki won the challenge.
Trivia
This is the first recurring challenge to be played solely for reward in its second appearance.
Every time the challenge was used, the eventual seventh placer was on the winning tribe.
They were also all male.
