Triage (2 of 2) Reward Challenge | Survivor: Australian Outback | S0205: The Gloves Come Off
Each tribe selects two members to become "rescuers." The other members are placed at predetermined accident locations. Using a stretcher, each tribe must locate their tribemates at the accident locations and bring them back, one by one, to the "first aid tent." First tribe to rescue all of its members and cross the finish line wins.
Reward: The winning tribe wins bath implements and all of the items chosen from a catalog by both tribes. Kucha chose blankets and Ogakor chose soup mix and spices.

The Gloves Come Off is the fifth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
Challenge: Triage
Winner: Kucha
https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/Rescue_Mission
Rescue Mission (also known as Triage and Mayday) is a tribal challenge in Survivor. Tribes must use a stretcher to 'rescue' tribe mates located in the wilderness.
Rules
Tree Mail will indicate that each tribe is to construct a stretcher (or similar piece of equipment) using designated supplies. At the challenge, a given number of tribe members will be taken out into the wilderness. The remaining competitors race to find their tribe mate(s) and carry them back to the mat on the stretcher. The first tribe to "rescue" all of their tribe mates wins the challenge.
History
This challenge debuted in Survivor: Borneo as an Immunity Challenge. Simulating a plane crash, the smallest members from both tribes (Kelly Wiglesworth and Colleen Haskell, pretending to be plane crash survivors) were sent to the middle of the jungle and harnessed into a parachute dangling from a tree prior to the challenge. Tribe leaders chosen by the tribe (Susan Hawk for Tagi and Joel Klug for Pagong) guided their tribe members to rescue the survivor and proceed to the "first aid tent". Pagong won the challenge and immunity.
The challenge reappeared in Survivor: The Australian Outback as a Reward Challenge, with the tribes instructed to build a triangular structure known as a travois. Two tribe-members played the part of the accident survivors, while the rest of the tribe raced to find them and carry them back, one at a time, to a "first aid tent". Kucha won, receiving blankets, spices, and soup mix.
In Survivor: Cook Islands, the challenge was used as an Immunity Challenge. Four players untied and assembled a wooden puzzle stretcher then run to the beach. One tribe member then swam out to a mast to free a hostage, then they both swim back holding a life ring. The hostage gets on the stretcher and is carried back. Thereafter, the three remaining tribe members will build a fire tall enough to burn through a rope to lower their tribe flag. Aitutaki won the challenge.
Trivia
This is the first recurring challenge to be played solely for reward in its second appearance.
Every time the challenge was used, the eventual seventh placer was on the winning tribe.
They were also all male.

Season Summary
The sixteen castaways were divided into two tribes, Kucha and Ogakor. While Ogakor began the game strong by winning the first Immunity and Reward Challenges, Kucha quickly rebounded and won the next Immunity Challenge, reducing Ogakor to five members. Ogakor broke their losing streak by winning the Day 15 Immunity Challenge, sending Kucha back to Tribal Council; after a medical evacuation, Kucha lost their third member, merging the two tribes with five members each. The ten remaining survivors called themselves the Barramundi tribe.
The 5-5 stalemate caused the tribes to be deadlocked the first time they went to Tribal Council, but Jeff from Kucha had past votes, bounding the former Kuchas to extinction. Three of the five former Ogakors, Colby, Keith and Tina, became the deciding factor in most of the votes, even eliminating two of their own when they could afford to before finishing off the remaining Kuchas to make themselves the final three castaways. Colby, who had dominated in the challenges and was known for his chivalry, chose the mother figure Tina over the unpopular Keith, sending the latter to the jury.
At the Final Tribal Council, the jury was torn between Colby's eight challenge wins and Tina's quiet control over the...

Michael, though, is still determined to make himself useful. Suddenly he sees a pig race past camp, and he is quickly on the hunt. Michael traps the pig and kills it with the spear. Michael feels victorious. The rest of the tribe is impressed with Michael's hunting skills, but a little grossed out at the bloody scene. Kimmi, in particular, is disgusted. Later, the tribe, sans Kimmi, happily feasts on the pig.

The Killing Fields is the fourth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/Survivor:_The_Australian_Outback
Production
Filming was known to have commenced during the Survivor: Borneo reunion show which was hosted by Bryant Gumbel. Gumbel had Jeff Probst via phone patch where Probst revealed that they started filming. Filming took place at Goshen Station in northern Queensland between late October and early December 2000, and aired from January 28 to May 3, 2001, on CBS. The location used was within a three-hour drive off the coastal city of Cairns and located in a wet, tropical area.
In the middle of filming, Colby Donaldson, who won a trip to the Great Barrier Reef as part of a reward win, broke off coral which he intended to keep as a souvenir. During the same trip, a production helicopter flew over restricted sea rookeries. Both of these events led to the show being fined $100,000 Australian dollars. Executive Producer Mark Burnett apologized on behalf of Colby and the production staff after the episode aired.[2]
The season was released in DVD format on April 26, 2005.
Twists/Changes
Longer Game: The game lasted 42 days, three days longer than the previous season.
Tribe Composition: The sixteen castaways were divided into two tribes of eight.
Merge: The merged tribe was composed of ten members.
Final Tribal Council: Two finalists faced a jury of seven. The jurors individually addressed the finalists.
Tiebreaker: In an event of a tie vote, a revote would take place. If a deadlock occurs, the votes cast against the players in question from previous Tribal Councils will be taken into account. The castaway that had more votes would be eliminated from the game.

The Killing Fields is the fourth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
Challenge: Mastermind
Winner: Kucha
Day 11
The Reward Challenge, a jigsaw puzzle, promises three chickens and a rooster for the winning tribe. The Ogakors argue with each other and cannot seem to get much done, while Kucha works together more smoothly and wins the reward. Most of the Kucha tribe is glad to have the chickens, but Kimmi Kappenberg, a vegetarian, is repulsed. Michael Skupin, too, is worried because his food-catching skills are no longer as important with the chickens around, making him less valuable to the tribe.
Meanwhile, a mini-forest fire has broken out near Ogakor's camp, worrying the tribe. Fortunately, the fire cannot cross the river, so the camp remains safe. Tina talks to Colby about Jerri. She calls Jerri "the most bossy, domineering person I've ever met." Colby agrees with Tina's concerns. He does not like Jerri's decision to boot Keith next, because he feels the tribe needs Keith. Tina says that she and Keith may be able to strike an alliance with Colby. Jerri chats with Amber and Mitchell. She is a little worried that Colby might jump ship on their alliance, but that she will make sure it does not happen. Later, she makes sure that Colby is still tight with her. "It's not like you're making a deal with the devil here," she reassures him.
At Kucha, the tribe agrees to eat their first chicken. Kimmi makes it a point to leave camp before the killing. The rest of the tribe chows down on the chicken. Michael, though, is still determined to make himself useful. Suddenly he sees a pig race past camp, and he is quickly on the hunt. Michael traps the pig and kills it with the spear. The Killing Fields is the fourth episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback.
Challenge: True or Falls
Winner: Kucha
Day 12
For the Immunity Challenge, the castaways are quizzed one by one on facts about Australia. The tribe with the most correct answers wins. Kucha's Alicia Calaway, after missing her first three questions, finally beats Mitchell in the tiebreaker round. Therefore, Kucha wins their third straight Immunity Challenge. A demoralized Ogakor will go back to Tribal Council. Amber, Jerri, and Mitchell think that it is a foregone conclusion that Keith will be going home. But a Tribal Council shocker throws them for a loop. The three of them vote for Keith, only to find that Colby, Keith, and Tina have teamed up to vote for Mitchell, resulting in a 3-3 tie. Everyone but Keith and Mitchell vote again, but the result is another tie.
Host Jeff Probst announces the deadlock tiebreaker rule: whoever has the most votes from previous Tribal Councils will be booted. Keith has zero votes. Mitchell has one (from Keith at the previous Tribal Council). That vote makes all the difference, and a stunned Mitchell has his torch snuffed.

Rules
Castaways must answer a series of questions about the local culture. The person or tribe who answers the most questions correctly wins.
From Marquesas to Guatemala, the castaways had objects such as masks or pots, usually held up by ropes, which represent their "lives" in the challenge. Each correct answer gives the castaway the right to break one of their opponents' items or cut their rope. The last contestant left with their object intact wins.
In China and South Pacific, the quiz was held in a sudden-death format; any castaway who answered a question incorrectly was automatically taken out of contention.

After returning to camp Jim gave the remaining contestants care packages from their loved ones before leaving on the yacht.
In The Australian Outback, the challenge would be used as the Immunity Challenge in "The Killing Fields". The castaways were tested on their knowledge of the Australian environment. Kucha won the challenge.
In Africa, the challenge was used as a Reward Challenge. The tribes started at the top of bleachers. Every time a tribe answers a question correctly they will move down one row. The first tribe to reach the ground wins. Samburu won the challenge for a buffet.
In Marquesas, each player had a station with three ropes each tied to a bundle of coconuts hanging from trees. A correct answer gives a player the right to cut one of the other players' ropes, causing a bundle of coconuts to fall to the ground. Losing all three bundles means elimination from the game. Sean Rector was the first eliminated, followed by Vecepia Towery and Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien. The challenge ened with Tammy cutting loose Robert's last coconut bundle, giving her individual immunity.

KEITH

Colby did not give a confessional when he voted.
JERRI
“ (voting for Keith) Mitchell, I promised you from the very beginning of this game that I would not vote for you, and I am staying true to that promise. ”
TINA
“ (voting for Mitchell) This game isn't easy. I didn't come out here to starve myself and to face the elements to keep the weakest person. I'm sorry, Mitchell. ”
Final Words
MITCHELL
“ That definitely took me by surprise. But I guess the bright side is, I get to eat, and I need to eat. Look at me... cripes. I feel a little bit betrayed by some of them, but at the same time, I want to shake their hands and congratulate them for pulling the wool over my eyes because they definitely got me. ”
Trivia
This is the first time that a tie took place during the pre-merge phase of the game.
This also marked the first deadlocked tie in the history of the show and also the first time that previous Tribal Council votes were counted at another Tribal Council.

Tucker'd Out (1 of 2) Immunity Challenge | Survivor: Australian Outback | S0202: Suspicion
On a spinning wheel are various aboriginal delicacies, such as mangrove worms, crickets, grubs, and cow brains. Each castaway must square off against someone from the opposing tribe, spin the wheel, and eat the item that is pointed at. If a castaway refuses to eat, or if he or she throws up, that tribe falls behind one point. The tribe that successfully eats the most tucker, wins.

Winner: Kucha
Day 6
Kucha receives Tree Mail, explaining that the Immunity Challenge will be the dreaded gross food eating challenge. Kimmi Kappenberg pipes up that she is a vegetarian and will not eat any meat at the challenge, much to her tribemates' dismay. At the challenge, the tribes square off, one person at a time. Everyone who downs their randomly chosen food earns a point for their tribe. Through the first seven rounds, everyone is successful—except Kimmi, who refuses to eat a cow brain and costs her tribe a point. Kimmi returns to her tribe crying, disappointed that she cannot break her vegetarian beliefs. But in the final round, Ogakor's Tina cannot hold down cow stomach, forcing the challenge into a timed tiebreaker. Each tribe gets to choose one member of the opposing tribe to participate. Unsurprisingly, Kimmi and Tina are chosen. Host Jeff Probst presents them with a mangrove worm, to Kimmi's delight. Kimmi shouts, "I can eat a worm!" That she does, finishing it before Tina, and giving the Kucha tribe its first challenge win. Back at Ogakor camp, several people feel vulnerable at the vote. Tina feels terrible for costing her tribe the challenge, while Keith knows he is in danger. Meanwhile, Jerri targets Kel, because he's "a liar and a cheat".
At Tribal Council, Tina again apologizes for her challenge performance, and Jerri again talks about her popular tortillas. Then it is time to vote, and it is a decisive one: in a unanimous 7-1 vote, Kel Gleason became the first Ogakor member to be sent home from the Australian Outback.

Rules
In this challenge, castaways must eat a variety of native, usually gross foods. This challenge has appeared multiple times throughout the Survivor series. In Pearl Islands and Samoa, instead of native delicacies, various ingredients were blended to create smoothies to be consumed.
As a tribal challenge, whoever finishes the dish first, wins a point for their respective tribe. When this challenge is used as an individual challenge, the last person to finish each dish is out, while the last player remaining wins.
History
United States
In its debut in Borneo, the castaways were to eat a serving of butod or bug larvae. If a contestant refused to eat the beetle larvae, the contestant's tribe would automatically lose the challenge for the tribe. In order to break the tie, each tribes' most squeamish member faced off. Gervase Peterson of Pagong and Stacey Stillman of Tagi were pitted against each other. Stacey finished the larva first and won immunity for Tagi.
The challenge returned in The Australian Outback where a person from each tribe would compete against someone from the other. A spinning wheel determined what was to be eaten. This time, if someone refused to eat or threw up, they would lose a point for their tribe. Again, the challenge ended in a tie. Kimmi Kappenberg of Kucha and Tina Wesson of Ogakor were chosen for the tiebreaker, and Kimmi won for Kucha by eating a mangrove worm first.
Another variation of this challenge appeared in Africa where castaways had to drink a shot...

Day 5
The tribes receive Tree Mail about the Reward Challenge, which tells them that they will have to jump off a cliff into water. Rodger Bingham is worried, because he cannot swim very well and he has a fear of heights. At the challenge, Rodger hesitates to jump, then struggles in the water, and Ogakor wins by a landslide. They earn a pair of blankets. Still, the rest of Kucha supports Rodger for trying his best. At Ogakor camp, experienced chef Keith Famie volunteers to cook the rice, but it turns out pasty and sticky. "How could a great chef not know how to make rice?". Jerri complains. Jerri decides to do some cooking herself, and makes tortillas that the tribe loves. Jerri feels proud, but Tina Wesson feels bad for Keith for being one-upped. Keith brushes it off. "No worries, mate", he says in an Aussie accent.
Later, controversy erupts at Ogakor when Jerri spots Kel chewing on something brown. Jerri believes it is beef jerky. She tells her tribemates, who are outraged that Kel snuck in food. While Kel is gone, Tina sneaks a peek into Kel's bag, but nothing is found. When Kel returns to camp, the tribe confronts him. Kel denies that he has beef jerky, and says that he was chewing on a blade of grass. As a peace offering, Kel offers to let the women use the razors he brought, but Jerri sees this as an admission of guilt. Maralyn Hershey disagrees with the accusation and wants Jerri to apologize, but she refuses.

Rules
Each tribe starts on a raised platform. One by one each tribe member must jump off the platform and re-assemble at a certain point. Once all the tribe members have reached the meeting point they must race to a final point. The first tribe to reach the final point wins.
History
United States
The challenge debuted in Survivor: The Australian Outback as a Reward Challenge. The tribes had to jump off a 35-foot granite cliff into a deep natural pool. They must swim to a floating crate anchored in the river. Once a tribe member reaches the crate the next tribe member could go. When each member of the tribe reaches the crate, they must dive down and detach it from the anchor. The tribe must then maneuver the crate down a river through small rapids, and carry it onto a sandy beach. The first tribe to get the crate and all tribe members across the finish line wins. Ogakor won this challenge, winning blankets for the tribe, due to Rodger Bingham of Kucha being afraid of heights and his inability to swim.
The challenge re-appeared in Survivor: One World. Each tribe started the challenge on a raised platform. One at a time, tribe mates drop from a three-step structure down into a net. After all players from a tribe finish the net drop and re-assemble on a tribal mat, they proceed to the next stage, climb stairs to another platform, and perform a balance beam walk. Manono won immunity and flint after Salani member Kourtney Moon broke her wrist when she landed on the net. As the challenge required all nine members to finish, Manono was given a choice; take the win or continue the challenge with one less member and face the possibility of losing. Manono chose to win the challenge without finishing.
Trivia
Both times this challenge has appeared, the losing tribe was a blue tribe.

“ It's like there's a part of me that's a little paranoid about who's talking to who. I see these two standing over across, um... Mike and Rodger standing across the river talking. They're not fishing. They're not doing anything. They're just talking, and, uh, the wheels start turning, and I'm just... my eyes are going around. Just because we've said what we're doing doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna happen, and I haven't been with these people long enough to know for sure how well... I mean, I'm not gonna trust anybody, but there's a certain... to a certain point, you have to. ”

“ (voting for Debb) My vote is for Debb. Um, at this point, I think that Rodger would probably be the smarter vote, but I think that the group dynamics and people fitting in well together is important, and Debb is definitely on the outside with certain people. But no hard feelings. ”

KIMMI
“ (voting for Debb) I'm voting for Debb because... she's a great worker and everything, but she does feel isolated. You know, when we're together all in the tent at night, she just chooses... to be independent, and... she's just a strong-willed person. It's not a bad thing. It's just not what I need. ”
Final Words
S2 debb bw
DEBB
“ I wouldn't have minded getting voted off if I had fell... fallen during a competition, if I was lazy, if I wasn't a team player, but when I come here, and I give all of that, and I still get voted off, I bet you if Jeff had read every one of those votes, it would have been seven to one, and that's-that's a shame. I still thought a lot of it boiled down to mental toughness and physical ability, and none of that even mattered. ”

Season Summary
The players were brought into the game at a native gathering, with the natives dividing the group to men and women. After the opening ceremony, the men were named the Lopevi tribe, and the women the Yasur tribe. Following the ceremony's conclusion, both groups were sent to find their camps in the dark.
At the first Immunity Challenge, Lopevi lost; mainly due to Chris' inability to cross over a balance beam. This seemed like the end of the game for him; however, he succeeded in convincing the older men of the tribe to form an alliance and vote off the younger men. At the all-female Yasur, two factions also based around age quickly emerged, both fighting over Dolly's vote. With Dolly refusing to commit to either alliance, a concerned Eliza made a temporary jump to the older women to vote Dolly out.
A Tribe Switch occurred on Day 11, mixing the two tribes. At the new Lopevi, the men decided to invite Twila into their alliance, who she swore that both she and Julie would side with them come the merge. On the new Yasur, there were frequent clashes between Ami (the head of the women's alliance) and Rory, the latter of whom narrowly avoided elimination when the women decided to vote out the untrustworthy Lisa over him.
On Day 19, the two tribes merged and took the name Alinta, with the women outnumbering the men, six to four. While the men reformed their alliance, Julie and Twila broke their promise to them. The six women joined forces and eliminated the men until only Chris was left. Chris was set to be voted out when he failed to win immunity on Day 30, but the women's alliance began to crumble as they decided to vote out Eliza instead. This allowed Scout and Twila, the latter who swore on her son's life that she wouldn't betray Ami and Leann, to pull in Chris and Eliza and flip the game on its head. The plan worked, as Ami and her allies were systematically voted out. Chris won the last two Immunity Challenges, which allowed him to remain in power. He ultimately took Twila with him to the Final Two.
At the Final Tribal Council, Chris was heavily criticized particularly by Julie and Eliza for breaking promises and abusing relationships, while Twila was confronted for swearing on her son's life and attitude. Chris's ability to stay in the game despite the incredible odds against him convinced the jury to vote for him. He won the title of Sole Survivor by a vote of 5-2.
Twists/Changes
Expanded Cast: Following its predecessor, this season also featured eighteen castaways.
Tribe Composition: The castaways are divided into tribes of nine based on gender: The Lopevi tribe was composed of all men and the Yasur tribe was composed of all women.
Double Tribal Council: On Day 7, both tribes were forced to attend Tribal Council separately to vote out one of their own.
Tribe Switch: On Day 11, selected tribe "chiefs" were tasked to rearrange the tribes, mixing up the men and the women. Two members from both tribes joined the other.
Merged Tribe Composition: The merged tribe was composed of ten members.
Final Tribal Council Format: Two finalists faced a jury of seven. The jurors individually...

Rites of Passage (1 of 2) Day 38 | Survivor: Vanuatu | S09E14: Spirits and the Final Four
The Rites of Passage is a ritual performed by the final contestants before the Final Immunity Challenge. It occurs while the final two, three, or four contestants (depending on the season) travel to their Final Immunity Challenge. The contestants walk past the torches of their eliminated competitors, in the order of their elimination, and recite a few words about that player. They then collect items, or the torches of the contestants as the ritual continues. By the end of the ceremony, they burn the items as a way to pay respect.

The last Rites of Passage shown was during Survivor: Caramoan. The Rites of Passage in Survivor: Redemption Island wasn't aired, but was available on the CBS website.
Jeff Probst justified the extinction of the ritual, stating that it "meant more in earlier seasons and doesn't have any value in recent seasons."
Trivia
The Rites of Passage in Survivor: Africa was the first time that eliminated contestants spoke of their journey themselves.
Although torches are usually used to represent the eliminated castaways during the Rites of Passage, in Survivor: Thailand, the final three castaways were asked to instead make wreaths (as part of Thai culture) for each of their fallen comrades.
The Rites of Passage in Survivor: The Amazon is the only event that did not occur on the penultimate day of the game. Rather, an impromptu Rites of Passage was held by the Final Two of the last day of the game. Like in Thailand, torches were not used. Instead, the names of the eliminated contestants were written on the side of a crate.
Osten Taylor from Survivor: Pearl Islands was the first castaway to not be included in the Rites of Passage due to the fact that he quit. However, during the Rites of Passage, the show cut to a shot of Osten's torch lying down at Tribal Council where he withdrew from the game, before airing footage of his time in the game (including his torch getting snuffed). In subsequent seasons, quitters had their torches laid down because they were not properly voted out. In Nicaragua, NaOnka and Kelly Shinn's shields at the Rites of Passage were grey with crosses instead of with an insignia.
Torches were also used in Survivor: All-Stars's Rites of Passage, however, the final three were to go to a special paint stand and paint themselves to resemble Pearl Islands tribesmen; the torches were not collected during the path.
Jonathan Libby and Wanda Shirk from Survivor: Palau were not included in the Rites of Passage because they were eliminated on Day 2, without being chosen to be on a tribe, thus not having the chance to go to Tribal Council and receive torches.
Survivor: Cook Islands was the first time that four castaways went to the Rites of Passage rather than three seen in seasons prior as it was the first season to have a three-person Final Tribal Council.
Survivor: South Pacific and every season since Survivor: Blood vs. Water has not had a Rites of Passage.
The Rites of Passage in Survivor: Redemption Island wasn't aired, but was uploaded online instead.

Spirits and the Final Four is the season finale of Survivor: Vanuatu.
Challenge: Snakes and Ladders
Winner: Chris Daugherty
https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/The_Maze
The Maze (also known as Obstacle Puzzle Maze, Snakes and Ladders, Maya Maze, A-Mazing Gabon, Meso Maze, Balance Beam Maze, Roundabout, Maybe I'm a Maze, Vin Skully, and Dragon's Breath) is a recurring Immunity Challenge that tests both physical and mental prowess. It premiered in Survivor: The Australian Outback and multiple variations of the challenge have appeared in different stages of the game.
Appearances:
--United States
The Australian Outback
Marquesas
All-Stars
Vanuatu
Guatemala
Gabon
Redemption Island
One World
Cagayan
Game Changers
Ghost Island
--South Africa
Philippines
Island of Secrets
Rules
The contestants (sometimes in tribes, but usually individually) head into a labyrinth of passages, corridors, and turns. They have to reach a certain number of checkpoints either in order or any order they wish, collecting an item at each one. After they collect all their items, contestants must find their way out of the maze. Mazes have also been done where the castaways are blindfolded, called Braille Maze.
History
United States
The challenge made its debut in The Australian Outback. The tribes had to collect five pendants in the correct numerical order. Because there was no apparent unfairness due to having a maze for each tribe, everyone in the competition competed. Ogakor maintained the lead early and Kucha was unable to catch up due to having gotten lost. Ogakor won immunity for the first time in days, sending Kucha to Tribal Council.
The challenge returned in Marquesas. The format was similar to The Australian Outback. Rob Mariano led Rotu to victory, once again sending the Maraamu tribe to Tribal Council.
The challenge's next appearance, called Obstacle Puzzle Maze, was in All-Stars as the final four Immunity Challenge. Unlike its previous two appearances, it was an individual challenge. The castaways had to collect eight ladder rungs in any order. After the castaways had obtained them all, they must arrange them in the correct order to reach the top of the platform. The first person to do so wins. Everyone was relatively even, although Rob Mariano had a slight lead. In the end, Rob went in circles allowing Amber Brkich to catch up and pass him. Amber won immunity for the first time in the game.
The challenge was also used in Vanuatu as the final four Immunity Challenge, where it was known as Snakes and Ladders. This time, the maze was vertical. The castaway had to collect eight bags of puzzle pieces. After collecting all of the bags, they must arrange them to spell out "Final Three". The first person to do so wins. Scout Cloud Lee was quickly out of the challenge due to her age and her knee implants. In a close race, Chris Daugherty was the first to complete the puzzle, winning himself immunity.
The challenge reappeared in Guatemala as the final four Immunity Challenge, known as Maya Maze. The castaways had to collect pieces and arrange them to form a Mayan deity. Everyone was somewhat even, with the exception of Lydia Morales who was lagging. Rafe Judkins was the first to complete the puzzle, winning immunity
In Gabon, the challenge, called A-Mazing Gabon, was used as the final five Immunity Challenge. The castaways had to dig a hole under a wall, cross a maze made out of planks, and untie a series of knots that would open a gate that led to a maze with 25 Gabonese huts. They must find three bags of puzzle pieces in the huts and take them one at a time to a platform. Bob Crowley got the three bags and finished the puzzle first, winning immunity.
The challenge reappeared in Redemption Island as the Final Immunity Challenge. Called Meso Maze, it once again saw the castaways collecting puzzle pieces to ultimately spell out a phase. It was neck and...

The jurors individually addressed the finalists.

Warrior (1 of 2) Immunity Challenge | Survivor: Vanuatu | S09E13: Eruption of Volcanic Magnitude
Jeff Probst will start by telling the story of Roy Mata. After he finishes the story, the castaways must race to different stations to answer questions about the story. Each time a castaway answers correctly, they would receive a white pig tusk, which they must attach to a necklace. Each time a castaway answers incorrectly, they would receive a black pig tusk, which they must throw into a fire urn. First player to attach all five of their tusks wins immunity.

Eruption of Volcanic Magnitude is the penultimate episode of Survivor: Vanuatu.
Challenge: Warrior
Winner: Eliza Orlins
https://survivor.fandom.com/wiki/Witch_Hunt
Witch Hunt, also known as Fugitives, African Folklore, Marquesan Folklore, Warrior, Maya Folklore, Tow The Line, and Folklore, is a recurring challenge on Survivor.
Appearances:
--United States
Borneo
The Australian Outback
Africa
Marquesas
Vanuatu
Guatemala
Cook Islands
Cambodia
--New Zealand
Nicaragua
Rules
The host begins the challenge by telling the castaways a story about local folklore. When the story is ended, the castaways run to stations where they will be asked a question about the story they just heard. Answering the question correctly would allow the contestant to collect an item, while giving an incorrect answer would force the castaway to complete a task (typically discarding a pointless item) before they are able to return to the station and answer the question correctly. The first person to get back to the starting point with all their items would win.
History
United States
In Survivor: Borneo, after the story about Bornean folklore, the castaways must run into the woods (where the masks with questions on them were scattered) with a video camera to record their answers. Kelly Wiglesworth won her third challenge in a row.
In Survivor: The Australian Outback, each player is shackled together at the wrists, ankles, and waist. After hearing a story about aboriginal settlers, they must run to eight stations. A correct answer will give them a key to unlock one of their shackles, which they must bring back to the center of the course. Keith Famie had the lead, but dropped one of his locks on his way back to the center. WIth Keith unable to find it, Colby Donaldson managed to get back with all of his locks and shackles. It gave Colby his third straight immunity win.
In Survivor: Africa, after Jeff Probst tells them an African story, the seven players race with staffs in hand to collect five colored leather straps by breaking ostrich eggs placed below the right answer to one of seven questions relating to the story. The first person to get five strips tied to their staff and return to the center of the circle would win. The race is close, with Frank Garrison and Lex van den Berghe being neck-and-neck most of the way. When Lex wraps his fifth strap to his staff, one of his other four straps slips off on his way to the starting circle. Lex quickly retraces his steps, finds his missing strap, brings it back to the starting circle and rewraps it around his staff. As a result, Lex wins individual immunity for the second straight time.
In Survivor: Marquesas, the castaways would listen to Jeff narrate an ancient Marquesan tale. Then, they would answer a series of questions about the story located within a private kiosk in which multiple-choice answers were made available. Correct answers would correspond to a basket that would reveal a mini idol. Castaways who guessed the correct answer would then attach the idol to a necklace with which they had been provided. The first person to answer five questions correctly and race across the finish line with five idols would win. Although Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien and Neleh Dennis each dropped one tiki on their way to the finish line, Kathy found the tiki she...
