Sleeping Beauty, The Cactus and The Raisin
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 27
Gino pulls the Death card from the Tarot deck to guide this episode. An end brings a new start. To end something, to start something, to change…. we can view the present moment as a state of growth. Growth is the ideal. Death is not. Sleeping beauty lies in state, ready for her new life. All kinds of events are happening, behind the scenes, in anticipation for her awakening. A cactus contains life inside itself while surviving the harsh conditions of the dry-spells in the desert. A cactus can be cut down, stored away and planted years later. The little shrivelled raisin had so much going on, behind the scenes, to become the nutritional taste sensation we have as a snack in this episode! Give some raisins to your young child for this episode and appreciate that there is a lot going on behind the scenes with young children. We can help the angelic forces, who work behind the scenes, by guiding young children to see that there is more than meets the eye. We can recognise it and be grateful for it.

Freeing Minds One Spine At A Time With Doktor Z
Dr Diana Zaccaria, AKA Doktor Z, is a chiropractic doctor from North Carolina who has been active in the realm of natural healing for over 40 years. She kindly joins Gino to discuss how chiropractic is much more esoteric than a few “cricks” of the spine! We explore the correspondences between the spine, the mind and universal intelligence. We are super lucky to have Doktor Z demonstrate some physical activities to promote the best neuro-emotional-physical development in young children. When young children are raised in the appropriate way, the appropriate neural pathways are created. This is why Gino is so excited and super grateful to have Doktor Z share her deep and meaningful knowledge with us in this interview. Doktor Z’s practice modality is called “Network Spinal” and she shares with us how communicating with the spine can literally re-program and heal the body and mind! This interview is a must see for all that want to improve the lives of young children and create a future which sees humanity aligned with universal intelligence!

A Rat Hugs a Cherry Tree
A Rat Hugs a Cherry Tree
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 26
This episode, number 26, is guided by the Three of Pentacles. What if there was no resistance to freedom in doing what you want? What if your goal was the same as others and you worked together, as a team, with little resistance?
Objectivity in teamwork? How simple! Play and play lots! Cause and effect! Something goes wrong? Oh! Something went wrong. That is not good. Wrong-doing stands out naturally like a sore thumb. Adults don’t feel empowered to allow this natural order to take hold because of fear, because of their own trauma. I know because I did it as a teacher. Once, there were three boys kicking a girl when she was down. Why? Because I had been allowing them do what they thought was right! The girl was becoming a nightmare person, she was terrorising the room: punching; snatching; scratching; bullying. And they had told her to stop, and she attacked them! I was terrified of this incident! I told the boys to stop. I will never forget the look of confusion on their faces. Their faces were the definition of confusion. Put their faces under “confusion” in the darned dictionary! But I was terrified!! Terrified of the parents, the community, the world. Who would allow someone’s little princess be subjected to such “violence”? Princesses aren’t violent themselves, no! They are innocent, beautiful and occasionally spicy! This is just one example where I chickened out of my Natural responsibilities! It’s an example of our adult conditioning to be afraid of doing and supporting what is right. In this case the right thing is understood to be the wrong thing. Firstly, the golden rule is to do no harm. Furthermore the laws of Nature, in this case, the principle of cause and effect, has been deleted. We just had a gang of thugs beating an innocent princess. No cause, just ill-effect.
The best way today to reverse the death of nature is simply to spend time in play with young children and allow the right things to happen. Easier said than done, but it won’t take much if there is more than a handful of adults out there doing so. That’s what charges me to do this work. I see so much power and capability in the people I meet. I know you have it in you to stick up for what is right!

The Frog, The Cat and The Chipmunk
The Frog, The Cat and The Chipmunk
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 25
The Page of Wands reminds us that we can make anything happen by having confidence and enthusiasm. Such a simple message that resonates throughout nature. The cat always lands on his feet, so he engages in all kinds of acrobatic feats. The frog’s giant leap gets him where he wants to go…and he is vocal about it too! The chipmunk lives a solitary life, yet we humans see the chipmunk as a very social animal. We can make anything happen with enthusiasm and confidence. Adult fear takes away confidence and enthusiasm from young children. Fearless care giving of the young is easier said than done, but we must remember that confidence and enthusiasm is inherent in young children, they are full of potential. We must reflect on our behaviour and try to break the cycle of “I cannot” to “I can!”.
In my time of teaching, the confidence and enthusiasm in the kids was a feast or a famine. There were bullies and there were victims. The bullies had the enthusiasm and confidence and it was being taken from the victims. The Natural Law principle of self-defence is a principle for a reason. It is a foundational quality that must be placed to create the man or the woman. We must instill confidence and enthusiasm in our young children in a way that doesn’t encourage them to dominate others. They are special and unique, and that is what makes them equal to others. Therefore, they shouldn’t try and take that specialness away from one another. If someone tries to take that away from them, then it should be protected with confidence and enthusiasm!
As the goalposts of “normal behaviour” move ever-closer to narcissism, psychopathy and machiavellianism… it is crucial that the freedom-minded adults encourage and support young children to develop their confidence and enthusiasm. Show them how to be fearless by refusing to be afraid of what might happen to them.

A Picnic With The Monkeys
A Picnic With The Monkeys
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 24
The Eight of Wands encourages us to go for it and move forward without regulations or constraints. Kind of like the feeling you get when you’re at a buffet…. or a picnic! We have to know what we want and that’s why encouraging young children to choose is important. We go on a picnic in this episode so we can choose our favourite foods to bring and feel that sense of freedom. As ever, “with freedom come responsibility” as we discover in the Jataka tale of The Stupid Monkeys. We finish the episode with an affirming poem: You Can Be Anything, by Gary Craig.

The Albatross and The Princesses
The Albatross and The Princesses
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 23
The Ten of Pentacles in the Tarot shows a scene of inheritance. What do our young children inherit? What should they inherit? What is the kind of abundance that is ideal for the young children of the world? The albatross has “inherited” the ability to cruise up in the sky, expending little energy. Never-the-less, he must be careful, smart and witty to make feeding and breeding a success. So the albatross lives a life of abundance but is considerate of others and the world around him. It’s a life of celebration, with a few rules, a few laws, some common sense…. can we say “living according to Natural Law” now??
After the wise albatross, we listen to a grim Grimm story about 12 dancing princesses. We see what happens when a life of royal luxury collides with extreme sheltering, restricting and “helicopter parenting”. What do you think the moral of the story is in this tale? We aren’t 100% sure ourselves but we are calling it part of the fun and a thinking exercise for all the grown-ups out there.
We end with an activity of choices. What is your favourite colour? Even on a conversational level, it is crucial to provide young children with choices. It is important for them to know what they want. This is a big task for the adults to decide what should be given and what should not be handed out so easily. It’s a moral dilemma that the adult must face when working with young children. Giving too much of one thing and taking away too much of another….. you could end up with a murderous princess! The real solution is to spend time with your young children, and plenty of it. The kindness, firmness, boundaries and freedoms will come naturally. Reflect on your actions and make effort to change. That seems to be the one clear mistake of the father king… he didn’t spend time with his daughters.. he provided great riches, set up an extremely firm protective boundary, and bought his way out of spending time with his family.

The King and The Horses
The King and The Horses
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 22
The Chariot card in the Tarot shows someone “getting what they want”. Young children want to get what they want. Often times, what they want is what they need to become an individual later in life. Sometimes, what they want might be affecting other people in their environment. In the early learning centres, some desires are left unchecked and young children go about harming others where it is seen as a dominant genetic sequence being expressed around recessive genetic sequences. Smacking and snatching a toy from another child requires skill…. it’s just that this skill is put to use in a negative way. The victims of wrong-doing require the same skills to get what they want. So, what are these skills? Firstly, let’s assume that psychopathy is not considered a skill…. at least according to you and I. “Getting what you want” requires a lack of fear, a calming of the nerves, managing stressful and difficult situations. It requires the qualities of a king who must be brave and make big decisions in crucial times. Looking to the animal world, we can see the horse as a symbol of these requirements. The master of a horse must be aware of the precarious situation of the emotional state of the horse. When the horse is mastered, off they gallop with clear direction, speed and determination.
Young children should be empowered to get what they want. They should also experience the natural consequences of their actions. This is part of how they learn about morality, true objective morality that is inherent in nature.
Simple breathing exercises, for young children, help them manage stress and pain. In particular, the out-breath is connected to the easing of the fight-flight response. So we do a breathing activity in this episode because it helps young children tap into the energy of the king, the horse and the Tarot’s Chariot.

The Butterfly, The Dog and The Sparrow
The Butterfly, The Dog and The Sparrow
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 21
The card of The Fool in the Tarot implies the start of something new, or a fresh beginning. Some people don’t get to start until they are very old. Sometimes some people never start for their whole lives! But if we spend lots of time, as young children, in play…. we are given more of a chance to begin our Hero’s Journey much sooner than would be expected. The more young children play, the more they give their attention to styles of play that benefit their own learning style/schema. Paying attention to the right things in early childhood develops focus, concentration, self-awareness, processing information…… hang on a minute! Are we talking about the trivium process here? Indeed we are…. at least the early childhood application of it. Let’s put it this way: engaging in preferred styles of play, in the early years, sets the young child up for the best and right learning later in life. Playing the right way means learning the right way and then later… doing the Right thing!

The Sun
The Sun
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 20
The Sun says “Fake it ‘til you make it”. The sun symbolises the heart of the child. We must win the hearts of the children and embrace the sun while we are at it! In this episode we simply explore some basic facts of the sun as the giver of life. We play “The Boy Who Flew Too High”. This story, based on the story of the ancient Greek myth Icarus, shows that indeed you can fake it ‘til you make it…. just beware of how far you can go! Young children need support in their “naive” courage to just go out and take risks. It’s easier said than done, but “letting the children play” is where magic happens!

The Magpie and The Walnut Tree
The Magpie and The Walnut Tree
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 19
The Lovers card from the tarot says “Understanding the difference between right and wrong shows us that we have free will to choose to do the right thing or the wrong thing”. How do we teach young children the difference between right and wrong? Well, by observing the magpie! The magpie has high intelligence and takes decisive action….. are the actions right or wrong? The magpie steals shiny objects to keep them out of sight in their home. They are highly suspicious of shiny things. So they are defending their family and territory, whereas to us they can be perceived as clever thieves. The walnut tree is also drenched in choosing between right or wrong. The walnut tree symbolises discernment… the husk and leaves are toxic while the nut itself is healthy for the brain and symbolic of intelligence. The nut even looks like a brain! Exploration of (or ideally in) nature can show us the moral lessons we are searching for. Simply spending time with our young children transfers the morals we know through our own realisation of the symbolism in nature.

The Goose and The Lark Amongst The Ferns
The Goose and The Lark Amongst The Ferns
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 18
The Eight of Pentacles says “Hard work will pay off and lead to results”. Freedom requires us to believe in ourselves, to be self-reliant, self-determined and persistent. We explore these qualities found in nature by looking at the fern, the goose and a Brothers Grimm story about a farmer being observed by a family of larks. Giving young children choices in their lives develops the following qualities: sense of self; self-determination; self-advocacy; leadership; goal-setting…. qualities that are required for the next generation to live in a world without rulers or slaves. So we end the episode with a game about making choices.

Let’s Play! #SKR17
Let's Play!
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 17
In this episode Gino uses the Page of Wands as a guide for the show. The Page of Wands gets immersed in play and exploration. She says “I’ll just see where it goes”. There is potential for this message to be misunderstood. The lovey-dovey new age community might be encouraged to flutter about aimlessly in the pursuit of pleasure, without any goals or higher purpose. This is the paradox where there is the neglected child inside us who never got the chance (or had little opportunity) to just get lost in play for the sake of play. Play and exploration, following the muse, is where the young child develops a sense of self, self-esteem, purpose and all the qualities required for goal-setting and achievement later in life. Parents and caregivers can observe play preferences and extend on these play-patterns through “curation” of the play environment. This is true early childhood education, a scaffolding approach to free-play. The only indoctrination that is happening is an indoctrination into the child becoming the self.

The Turtle and The Rainbow #SKR16
The Turtle and The Rainbow
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 16
In this episode Gino uses the Ten of Cups as a guide for the show. The typical image of the Ten of Cups has a family, with the parents in admiration of a rainbow. So we read a book about rainbows in the nature segment of the show. When you have all the support you need to feel content, you then get the opportunity to stand back and admire the beauty of nature. The turtle springs to mind with his family values, sense of belonging, home-symbolism through his shell and just an overall content animal! So we play a couple of turtle myths to explore the symbolism and messages the turtle brings.

The Hawk, The Monkey and The Tree! #SKR15
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 15
This episode is guided by the Three of Pentacles from Gino’s “Influence of The Angels” tarot deck. Regarding young children, Gino believes the messages from the minor arcana relate to self-esteem, namely the importance of it. The three of pentacles speaks to working with others, pushing through criticism, keeping on task and staying focused, working on yourself and your passions without taking time to let others drag you down. It’s speaks to having a strong sense of one’s place in the world… which should be promoted in the early years. Self-esteem is the key and there are themes of motion and movement… Young children learn through play, their brains develop through physical movement and a healthy growing brain leads to healthy thoughts, emotions and actions! So let’s see what we can gather from nature to affirm our discovery of the importance of the Three of Pentacles in the early years.

Self-defence Swans! #SKR14
Self-defence Swans!
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 14
Gino pulls the Eight of Swords from the Tarot deck. The Eight of Swords speaks to the loss of self-esteem which creates distrust in the self. In Gino’s experience, as an early childhood teacher, the loss of self-esteem happens when young children aren’t allowed to act according to our natural rights or live according to Natural Law. One should not do harm to another, the golden rule…… but what happens in the institutions of the young? Rules are set in place to prevent violence. Yet violence does not cut both ways. Someone must instigate the violation/violence, and someone must stop the violence from happening using physical force. In the early childhood institutions a culture of bullying and victimhood is promoted. “Keep your hands to yourself” is the number one early childhood institutional rule bar none. But what if a young child disregards that rule? Does the victim have a right to use his/her hands to defend? In the institutions… no! Because the victims must remain victims and follow the number one early childhood institutional rule! And then the self-esteem begins to drop. This dynamic is the number one motivator for Gino and his work in The Secret Kindergarten. In this episode we explore Swan symbolism and how the Swan represents self-defence!

Let’s Learn About (and Breathe Like) Dolphins! PLUS Right vs Wrong Tales! #SKR13
Let’s Learn About (and Breathe Like) Dolphins! PLUS Right vs Wrong Tales!
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 13
Gino pulls the Devil tarot card for this episode. Broadly speaking, the card means slavery. Slavery is a choice, just like Freedom. So the Devil card speaks of a choice to yield to evil or strive for good. So, this is the theme that is explored for this episode. There is a correspondence between this symbology and the dolphin! So we explore the dolphin. Many believe the dolphin is here to help us create freedom. Gino believes so too and the young children are connected to nature with their love of animals. The freeze game returns because it is fundamental to building self-esteem and self-control.... important qualities to help one be aware of choices and discern the right choice from the wrong choice.

The Freeze Game, Name That Feeling, a Dr Seuss Story and.. Fleas?!?!
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 12
For this episode, Gino pulls the Temperance card from the Influence of The Angels Tarot. Temperance speaks of balance, moderation and self-control. In the early years, self-regulating behaviours are encouraged through body control in play. So, that’s why the freeze game is back! We can encourage young children to recognise emotions which promotes self-control later in life by promoting self-awareness… much in the way an adult works on this in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with his/her therapist. Perhaps they didn’t play “Name That Feeling”, care of The Secret Kindergarten, in their early years! The Secret Kindergarten refuses to allow young children to go without the development they need to thrive later in life!

The Antelope & Its Friends and Wishes for the World! #SKR11
The Antelope & Its Friends and Wishes for the World!
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 11
Gino pulls The Lovers card from the tarot deck. Another repeated archetype with messages for the early years. We let the basic message of friendship guide the content of the show. The antelope brings a message of friendship in the nature segment. The old fable of The Woodpecker, The Tortoise and The Antelope shows us how friendship and valuing this can promote courage, valour and get us out of tricky situations. This kind of story speaks of living according to the Natural Law principle of vibration: protecting each other from violence because we are all connected. These principles are affirmed in the young listener if the reader of the story has a deeper understanding of the moral.

Mystery Sounds, Wolves and the Freeze Game!
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 10
For this episode, Gino pulls the Strength card from the Tarot deck. This card is a mainstay of The Secret Kindergarten because of the innate desire to nurture courage and power in young children. Listening skills are one of the foundations of Strength. Understanding the environment and “reading the room” go hand-in-hand with self-esteem. So we do an active listening activity! We listen to a story about a man who is changed into a wolf, exploring the meaning of the Strength card through story and metaphor. We finish the episode off with a Freeze Game! Stillness and self-control are also both related to the Strength card and great tools required for courageous action and doing the Right thing later in life.

The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children – Episode 9
The episode is guided by The Four of Wands. Peace and prosperity. A red castle. Bluebirds singing a sweet song. A hero's journey must have been completed, so we play King Arthur and also Gino’s favourite, Jack The Giant Killer. Young children need to be the sons and daughter of heroes, in order to grow up to be heroes and prosperous themselves. If that’s not the case, never mind... the adults can join in with the children and commence their own journey alongside them. We finish off with a stillness exercise, sitting in the fortitude of our castle in peace and prosperity... if only for a moment.

The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children – Episode 8
Gino pulls The King of Wands as an indicator for the theme of this episode. The Whimsical Tarot points to Prince Charming as an archetype that corresponds to The King of Wands. So in episode eight, we listen to some stories that involve the Prince Charming character. It turns out he never seems very involved, yet when you pay attention to him, the stories seem to be about him achieving his goal... to be with the one he is in love with. When the Charming Prince achieves this, he also creates balance and harmony in the world around him... creating the happy ending in the stories he appears in. The King of Wands speaks to this natural leadership. While the Fairy Tales of the handsome prince seem to focus on everyone else, the prince is in charge of his world and achieving his goals with tolerance, care and love for others. The Secret Kindergarten wants to keep the Prince Charming energy ignited in young children so they can live their Great Work and be successful in their adult life. This show, from the stories presented within, is a reminder for us adults to unite the masculine and feminine aspects of ourselves and create balance and harmony in the world through action and care.

The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children – Episode 6
In this episode we weave the connections between people, plants and animals through exploration, stories and music with guidance from the Tarot. We explore the spiritual aspect of trees through stories. We tell a Cambodian folk tale involving a cheeky rabbit. We also reveal the correspondences between trees and humans by reading a wonderful story called “Peter and The Tree Children”. Gino draws the Strength card from the Tarot, which is a symbolic quality of trees! We segue into Nature talk with the Lion, who is associated with the quality of strength.

The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children – Episode 7
Why does death feature in so many fairy tales and fables of old? Like life, popular stories for children have a strong start, a journey and a strong finish. There is already a metaphor to life in story. Birth and death is easily placed into children’s stories as children are immersed in the metaphors and symbolism. This is because of their situation... a developed subconscious mind and the hidden angelic forces helping them to make sense of the world as they develop the conscious mind through play.
Gino pulls the Queen of Swords for this episode. A correspondence is found with Red Riding Hood. Themes of feminine power, courage, a sharp tongue and doing the right thing are at play. The story of Red Riding Hood has been re-interpreted throughout history. Are you brave enough to play the original story to a young girl in your life? The Secret Kindergarten seeks to erase the “princess programming” and also the “white knighting” (where girls can do no wrong) in the world. Why not encourage all young children to face realities and be brave, and explore the morals of cause-and-effect and self defence. Does a girl have a right to hit a boy? Does a boy have a right to defend himself against a girl? Does a girl have the ability to be brave, courageous and strong? Is there a way of being right and powerful in a feminine way? The Secret Kindergarten wants young children to explore these themes and many others. After all, “death-play” in young children is real, required and natural... it cannot be removed and should not be repressed. The truth is, death is not a big deal in the world of young children. In fact, it is part of the fun in imaginary play. And imaginary play is where the brain develops the most and the best. So, let’s bring back some old original stories and hear them in all their deathly glory!

The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children - Episode 5
In this episode Gino is feeling loved and pulls the lovers card from his tarot deck. We discover this card corresponds to the fairy tale Beauty and The Beast. We wonder how and why? We continue with The Adventures of Maya The Bee and play some Aesop’s Fables! Gino reads a story he knows from his own childhood, “Where The Wild Things Are”. When Max is left alone he connects with his imagination and goes on an adventure to connect with the wild things.... Are they what manifested because of his yelling match that he had with his mother? Regardless, the union of opposites and the balancing theme of the lovers card is certainly played out in this classic story.
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children is live every Saturday 1.00pm-3.00pm Eastern Time on Revolution Radio (Studio A): https://www.revolution.radio/

The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children - Episode 2
In this episode, we re-visit the Two of Cups Tarot card. We further explore the meaning of the Two of Cups with regards to the parent-child relationship. The Two of Cups resonates so strongly with the message of The Secret Kindergarten, that Gino is thinking of changing the name of the podcast to “The Two of Cups”! We talk about correspondences with The Owl and The Pussycat, once again, and dive into said animals as spirit guides. The nature segment takes us to the woods to learn about the owl through fable, spirit and music. We listen to chapter two of The Adventures of Maya The Bee. Gino customises some New Age affirmations to be in line with Nature and the hearts of young children. We end the journey with a group activity that develops the skills of self awareness and focus.
