A Stargazing Racoon
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 49
The Star card in the tarot is about acceptance and “shining bright” with what you have and with what you cannot change. We explore this theme by reading about a blind racoon, which also highlights the difference between good actions, evil actions and the effects that they cause. This links from Manly P. Hall’s words of wisdom for the day (which are paraphrased to be more palatable for young children).
We end by getting down to brass tacks by suggesting that stargazing is a fantastic family activity on a clear night. Staring at the stars helps us to make sense of our place in the world and who we are…. which circles all the way back to the symbolism of The Star card in the tarot.

The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 48
Can you decipher the moral of "Puss in Boots"? We play a version of Charles Perrault’s famous story in this episode. The master cat is more manipulative than I gave him credit for! We practice “Mindful Waiting” … in times where you simply must wait, this is a great exercise for all ages. This exercise develops focus and present-moment awareness. For adults, it brings us back into the world of the young child.

Very Far Away
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 47
In this episode we observe young people, doing grown up stuff, in two different stories. In both stories they connect with animals in very different ways. The young people learn from their experience, make a decision and change their own minds. Nature is the teacher.

The Number Ten
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 46
In this episode we read a special story by Shel Silverstein called “The Giving Tree”. It’s a tear-jerker that runs deep. It has themes of existence, creation, life and nature’s elements. It corresponds to the number 10! Pythagoras considered 10 to be the most sacred number, since 1+2+3+4 = 10. These numbers represent existence (1), creation (2), life (3), and the four elements (4): earth 🌎, air 🌬️, fire 🔥, and, water 🌊 !
The tree gives herself in service, much like the donkey who shows up in two songs by Nancy Stewart of https://nancymusic.com/.
At the end of this episode, Gino demonstrates a way to communicate with young children by exploring problem situations. Adults get the opportunity to discover the nature of young children by asking questions from a place of curiosity, playfulness and reverence.

The Praying Mantis
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 45
The praying mantis and the caddis fly have antennae. We humans have one too, we were just programmed not to use it. Engaging in roleplay activities, like “Giant Snow Spider” can help activate the antenna of adults, and allow them to notice what is being received thanks to the young children, who have their antennae fully functioning. The only way to experiencing it is through discovery by getting involved!

Susie The Chooser
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 44
The Hello Game: look another person in eye and say “hello” and make a comment about them such as “you have blue eyes”. This prompted a discussion in the Revolution Radio chatroom. In the adult world, playing the “hello Game’ might be the better way to start a fist-fight. I think it may be the way to prevent a fist fight later in life, by practicing this confidence-building exercise early in life. We just don’t practice looking one-another in the eye. The eye is the window to the soul, as they say. When I took up martial arts, it strengthened me and gave me confidence which was written into my eyes. I’m still completely harmless, but when I’m locked in eye contact and confrontation… the fear doesn’t float up into the eyes, they stay engaged and calm….. they tell a different story to the bully… the bully moves on… he is looking for the fear, the runaway, not someone who can confide in him.
Susie the Chooser is about as direct as you can ever get when teaching morality to young children. It’s as far as I will ever get to indoctrinating children on this show. I challenge you to find esoteric work regarding the education of young children. You won’t find much outside of Rudolf Steiner and Max Heindel. The story comes from H.P. Blavatsky’s theosophical book “The Eternal Verities”. Blavatsky pulls a “Jordan Peterson” and teaches the children how tidying up your room corresponds to, and has a cosmic effect on, universal order. And it is 100% true, life is about choices, choosing to do the right thing in the present moment is all we have. It’s the best and most powerful thing we can do as individuals. It’s living according to Natural Law.

Jack and The Rabbit
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 43
In this episode we explore the value of perseverance. Lazy Jack turns out to be not-so-lazy and although a little dim, he has bucket-loads of perseverance. Things turn out very well for Jack and his family thanks to only his perseverance. Forcing yourself, to do things that must be done, builds willpower.
The rabbit playing in his “not-a-box” attracts a lengthy confrontation with a judgemental adult. With his perseverance and willpower the rabbit rides it out. He creates the term “not-a-box” to convince the adult that the box can be whatever the rabbit chooses to imagine.
The Giant of St. Michael’s puts King Arthur’s willpower to the most extreme of its use. Violence, gore and death take the backseat in the eyes of the child…. they absorb the message of the story, the theme of the story…. in this case it is the heroism of striving to defeat evil for the greater good.
The Secret Kindergarten wants young children to create the world, with their imagination, by force of their willpower.

A Train in The Rain
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 42
According to Carl Jung, a train in a dream symbolises that the dreamer has not yet found their own path in life, that they are on the same path as everyone else… they are a part of the herd as they move forward in life. In a train, there is a message of change, transition, overcoming and vision for the future.
A young child, in Rudolf Steiner’s perspective, is a sense organ… an eye. A train symbolises this as all the things viewed out the window of the train become one ever-changing view to create the fun travelling experience that children and adults adore. The train sees everything as it judders around the landscape. It’s no surprise that we “train” our eyes!
The name “Ain” means “eye” or “fountain”, so we have an etymological connection between a train and the rain! Each individual droplet of rain yields to gravity and acquiesces downwards with all the other droplets of rain. Each drop of rain is part of the “herd”! Rain changes the landscape and it symbolises change and the need for change in the individual…. similar to the dream of a train.
The story “Which Was The King”, shows that children are on the train of life, yet with a higher perspective. Children see that we are all part of the herd, in a higher sense, we are all one and the same. The child is “on the train” seeing everything as it is and absorbing it as one experience. The child doesn’t see a king as any different to himself, because they both have the capacity to wear a hat! The child doesn’t see authority in a uniform or a badge but is only indoctrinated into it from the behaviour he sees in authority figures. A hat is a hat, and a tyrant is a tyrant!
A fun family activity is to role-play a train ride which is explained at the end of this episode. Allowing your young child to be the conductor allows the imagination to run wild. Where will your family go on this train ride? What is the symbolic meaning of the destination that your child chooses? Is it symbolic of the direction in which the world is heading? Is it symbolic of where your young child wants to go in life? It’s up to the adult to decode the meaning, but there certainly is a deeper meaning to the chosen destination… and it’s part of the fun…. the messages and symbolism received from young children is why I’m here doing The Secret Kindergarten.

The Daisy Fairy
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 41
The daisy uses self-control to close up at night for protection. Then the daisy opens up during the day to attract bees for pollination. The daisy achieves its goal of spreading itself and beautifying the hillside meadows while helping the bees to do their job.
In early childhood, practicing self-control is important and closely related to outcomes in adulthood such as: physical and mental health; goal setting; concentration; academic achievement.

Bees Make Apples!
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 40
In this episode we talk about the apple tree and how they require magic and interaction from other living things.... pollinators. We discover that witches understand this and like to “pollinate” things too, by reading the Witches’ Chant from Macbeth. Was it white magic or black magic that the witches were involved with? Certainly it was black magic, given the ingredients. We left out a few lines too, which we didn’t need to include for young children to understand that these witches were bad! The Witches’ Chant is an important observation point in the show, please do ask your young children what they think! We finish off with a magical activity: positive affirmations to create a better day for ourselves.

The Chambered Nautilus
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 37
Life is fun, difficult, happy, sad, tragic and magic. Life is also eternal. When we die, we return to the place we came from. At the same time, we were here all along. So we don’t have to worry! We can have fun, and be serious at the same time. We can have fun, but be mindful that life is serious and worth caring about. This episode, we highlight the connectedness of life which young children embody and require this connectedness to affirmed by grown-ups.

The Condor
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 38
Anger is important. Anger is a feeling and feelings must be expressed. Anger can be let out and laughed about later as we continue on our way. We do the angry dance and let our angries out! We talk about the cool, calm and collected condor. The condor knows how to control his feelings and soar through life, no matter how grisly it might be. We affirm life’s eternal path of the soul with part of a lesson from “The Eternal Verities”. We play some stories that cover life, death and rebirth. Nature shows us a world of cycles, like the condor shows us, symbolically, with how he eats. Like the transformation of the dragonfly. In this episode, we weave a thread through cycles: of nature; of life; of the soul’s journey.

Iphigenia and The Apple
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 35
Educating Girls Series
In this series we are focusing on the education of young girls. Gino pulls the Queen of Swords from his Tarot deck, and in this episode, we are challenging the attention span with “Big Fat Story-Time”! At around two-and-a-half to three years old, girls are more focused on solitary play and working with their internal world. Perhaps a good space to listen to long stories! We play a Greek myth, “Iphigenia”. We want to provoke grown-ups to consider what is appropriate for educating young girls. “Princess Programming” is very real and Gino realised how deep this program runs, even into his own actions when he was a teacher. The grown-up question for this episode is, how much does the State influence our values and expectations regarding the behaviour of young girls? We encourage adults to reflect on this, in the hope of changing the “educational landscape” to create a free world.
Now, back to Iphigenia...
The audio story is extracted from the 1908 book “Heroines Every Child Should Know” edited by H.W. Mabie: http://flyingchipmunkpublishing.com/Childrens_Books.htm#Heroes_and_Heroines_ECSK
The current publisher of the book states, “From very early times great honour was paid to courage and strength; qualities which won success and impressed the imagination. The first heroes and heroines were gods or demi-gods, or others, who did difficult things, not for themselves but for others. The men and women whose bravery and great deeds are described in these pages have been selected not because they are faultless in character and life, but because they were brave, generous, self-forgetful, self- sacrificing and capable of splendid deeds. Stories of heroes and heroines have often made others strong and brave and true in the face of great perils and tasks, and this book is put forth in the faith that it will not only pass on the fame of the heroes and heroines of the past but help make heroes and heroines in the present.”
The princess programming wants everything to be easy for young girls, to create an expectation that everything should be easy, that life should hand everything to the young girl as they wish. Young girls are powerful and beautiful. Like the Queen of Swords in the Tarot, young girls can use their power by thinking and speaking to maintain control in dire circumstances to create a good outcome for themselves and others.

Happy Swans
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 36
Educating Girls Series - Second Installment
Gino pulls the eight of swords from his tarot deck once again! The message being that one should stick up for themselves and stick up for what is right, to prevent the self defeating thoughts and patterns from taking hold.
We introduce some content from H.P. Blavatsky’s “The Eternal Verities, for The Teachers of Children”. According to Gino’s estimation, this book appears to be for slightly older children, 6 years plus. Nevertheless, we want to start exploring the limited esoteric resources for children that are available. We read a story from lesson five in the book. This story is called “How to be Happy”. The story shows that little Helen was happiest at home, helping her mother to make a Sunday dress. The story ends with a question: “Do you know why?”. The answer in the book is ‘Yes, it is the nature of the self to render “Gentle Service”’. The goal of “How to Be Happy” in Blavatsky’s book is to affirm the Theosophical value of a life in service to others. If you play this story to your young child, ask them why! We are genuinely curious as to what their answer may be.
Also, in this episode, the swans return! We play Swan Lake and with our knowledge of Swan Spirit symbolism we see how the feminine aspect of self-defence takes flight in Tchaikovsky’s famous play. The theme of true love is bundled up nicely in this story. Odette, to stick up for herself, needs the love of the prince to break her spell. She is defending herself, while at the same time, the situation has the prince defending true love. All cheesiness aside, the message is about sticking up for what is right and doing the right thing. Odette freed herself and found true love. Even if the true love was imposed by the sorceress, as the neo-feminists claim today, Odette still used her power to get herself into a better situation! This brings us to the activity at the end of the show, “Three Questions”. Questioning young children, in a respectful and playful way, is super-important. We aren’t wanting to paint young children into a corner here. We are wanting to encourage young children to make choice and develop their sense of self so they know that they have power and sovereignty. We want young children to defend themselves when life demands it. They need to know who they are, what they want, and what they like to know these things are worth fighting for.
Martial arts like wing chun and krav maga prove that women can also physically defend themselves against bigger and stronger opponents. Women can do more masculine things to defend themselves too! We can all use all our faculties to defend ourselves mentally, emotionally and physically. A must watch movie about True Care, self-defence, violence and a heroine, is the 1994 film “Wing Chun” directed by Woo-Ping Yuen: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111800/
My niece was being bullied at her daycare. When her dad, my brother, had a conversation with her about it. He let her know that he would support her with doing whatever she thought was right in dealing with the bullying. She chose to pull a scary face and make a loud monster noise when the bully would approach her! The bullying stopped immediately without any physical intervention required! My niece was back to her usual confident self. In fact, her confidence grew, and continues to grow to this day, as she knows it’s okay to stand up for herself with the support of her loving parents.

Maya The Bee Returns
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 33
As inspiration for this episode, I pull the citrine card in The Crystal Wisdom Healing Oracle by Judy Hall. According to Judy Hall, citrine brings joy and helps you to interact creatively with the world. She also notes that joyful play creates a “wonder-full” world. The New Age movement speaks to the child in our self. Sadly, this is capitalised on as we were not raised in a way in which we are empowered to overcome our child archetypes and become adults. When we grow up, we have to face our faults and make concerted effort to improve our thoughts, emotions and actions. The New Age movement focuses on the childhood positivity and naivety, encouraging us to bypass the struggle and accept things as they are, in order to manifest a new reality for ourselves. There is a place for crystals, positive thinking and self-acceptance. These tools can help us to try to push ourselves forward and become better people. The cool thing I have discovered is the New Age publications are a wellspring of information for all things early-childhood! Age-appropriate positivity!
Inspired by the citrine card, I thought it was appropriate to bring back Maya The Bee in this episode: we play chapter 10 of Waldemar Bonsels’ 1922 book, The Adventures of Maya The Bee. Maya’s courage, naivety and actions are innate, as it is so with young children. Her joyful play and creative interactions bring her to a world of wonder where she encounters a flower sprite. Engaging with young children in True Care and creative exploration will bring adults in contact with a world of wonder, particularly regarding the unseen! The gifts, modalities and hidden talents, that are promoted as the “cause” in the New Age movement, are really the “effect” of doing the right thing in the world by living according to Natural Law, in particular the Law of Vibration. We are all connected. If one suffers, all suffer. If we live a life of care and influence this on others, children and nature, we are rewarded with the effects: a growing intuition and the opportunity connect with our hidden talents. Perhaps a flower sprite might come into your life from doing the right thing.

The Tarantula in My Purse
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 34
Gino pulls the Rhodochrosite crystal from Judy Hall’s “The Crystal Wisdom Healing Oracle” to guide the show. According to Judy Hall, rhodochrosite is a crystal of transformation from self-reflection and through self-understanding and forgiveness. This crystal corresponds to the tarantula in the world of animal spirit guides. Author of “Animal Spirit Guides”, Dr. Steven Farmer puts the tarantula spirit as a guide for shedding old ways, self-trust (which requires understanding and forgiveness) and pushing forward while dealing with sensitivity. The “Nature Time” segment explores these qualities with Tarantula facts and an anecdote from the Nature Writer, Jean Craighead George. We also play an audiobook about Robert The Bruce and his encounter with a spider. The spider shows him that success is about failing many times, which essentially is what the spider is here to teach us about. It reminds me of Spiderman, the hyper-sensitive super-hero. You see? The proof of our connectedness is everywhere!
Young children show us that the Law of Vibration is an objective reality here on earth. The Secret Kindergarten aims to highlight how things like a crystal, a tarantula and striving to succeed, have much more in common than it may seem.

The Pied Piper
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 31
The Five of Swords reveals a lack of empathy and harsh criticism. Either to oneself or to others. In this episode, we play The Pied Piper. I was once called the Pied Piper by a parent, as a trail of young children were following behind me. I replied “Yes, minus the child abduction” and the mother laughed hysterically. I loved how she had clearly left that part of the story out of her mind. And some renderings of the story are also “minus the child abduction”. Upon researching the story online, the town of Hamlet has historical evidence of the missing children being a real event. The Pied Piper also being true, but the rats, not so much. Interesting how we have covered the similarities between the rat and young children! Perhaps the frequency of the flute was able to affect both species!
The children of the town were enamoured with the Pied Piper, the children in the preschool were enamoured with me. That can only be for the same reason: using the True currencies that we have, which are time and attention and spending them on children engaged in play!
The adults of the town pulled a “five of swords” on the Pied Piper. They deceived him with no empathy and banned him from the town. Would these kind of people be spending quality time with their children? The children certainly had the freedom to engage with who they pleased. And the Pied Piper in his cheery outfit must have built a rapport with the children right under the town’s greedy noses. Singing, dancing and skipping and playing with the children until they were willing to follow him right out of the town, never to return.
I believe there is a link to the increase in missing children and a decrease in morality and freedom. The more we spend time with our children, the less they will be taken, in mind, heart and soul, by the state. The more we spend time with our children, the less time we will spend with the state anyway. It’s a way out of our current situation.

Far Away and Long Ago
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 30
The Hanged Man of the Tarot is detached from his situation and emotionally disengaged. Being upside down, he has a different perspective or a new view of things. The freeze game is the preschool way to explore the Hanged man and to promote this kind of higher-thought later in life. There is something going on inside the mind of the Hanged Man… he knows something that we may not. He might be suffering for the greater good, he might be doing the great work or enduring a restraint until others are up to speed. Regardless, his mindset required lots of play and physical activity in the early years. Gino tells a Northern Myth that encourages young children’s minds to picture themselves situated on a planet that has been around for a very long time and through many challenges and changes.

Self-Defence Swans
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 29
Gino pulls the Eight of Swords from the Tarot deck. The Eight of Swords speaks to the loss of self-esteem which creates distrust in the self. In Gino’s experience, as an early childhood teacher, the loss of self-esteem happens when young children aren’t allowed to act according to our natural rights or live according to Natural Law. One should not do harm to another, the golden rule…… but what happens in the institutions of the young? Rules are set in place to prevent violence. Yet violence does not cut both ways. Someone must instigate the violation/violence, and someone must stop the violence from happening using physical force. In the early childhood institutions a culture of bullying and victimhood is promoted. “Keep your hands to yourself” is the number one early childhood institutional rule bar none. But what if a young child disregards that rule? Does the victim have a right to use his/her hands to defend? In the institutions… no! Because the victims must remain victims and follow the number one early childhood institutional rule! And then the self-esteem begins to drop. This dynamic is the number one motivator for Gino and his work in The Secret Kindergarten. In this episode we explore Swan symbolism and how the Swan represents self-defence!

The Rabbit and The Crab
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children Ep. 28
The Chariot card in the Tarot shows someone “getting what they want”. Young children want to get what they want. Often times, what they want is what they need to become an individual later in life. Sometimes, what they want might be affecting other people in their environment. In the early learning centres, some desires are left unchecked and young children go about harming others where it is seen as a dominant genetic sequence being expressed around recessive genetic sequences. Smacking and snatching a toy from another child requires skill…. it’s just that this skill is put to use in a negative way. The victims of wrong-doing require the same skills to get what they want. So, what are these skills? Firstly, let’s assume that psychopathy is not considered a skill…. at least according to you and I. “Getting what you want” requires a lack of fear, a calming of the nerves, managing stressful and difficult situations. We need these skills to maintain our basic needs, our basic rights. Our natural right to not have our well-being taken from us. As we go about life, people try to stop us, verbally and physically, from going about our business. When our business is not causing any harm, we should exercise our rights and keep moving forward.
Rabbits literally must eat poos to get the nutrition they need for an energetic life of love, family and play. Rabbits send us a message to move ahead by leaps and bounds.
Crabs go with the flow, do their dance, make their mark and stay protected, all at the same time. They send us a message to live life with a thicker skin, express ourselves freely and deal with confrontation tactfully.
We can promote the qualities of the crab and rabbit by providing young children with choices (regardless of how we feel at the time), encouraging self-defence and by practicing our breathing exercises when we are in stressful situations. Simple breathing exercises, for young children, help them manage stress and pain. In particular, the out-breath is connected to the easing of the fight-flight response.
Young children should be empowered to get what they want. They should also experience the natural consequences of their actions. This is part of how they learn about morality, true objective morality that is inherent in nature.
The Secret Kindergarten Radio Show for Young Children is live every Saturday 2.00pm-3.00pm Eastern Time on Revolution Radio (Studio A): https://www.revolution.radio/
