The Blessed Hope - Session 1
Pastor Doug Riggs presents the Hope of the church in this invigorating four-part series. Be prepared for solid Bible teaching that breaches the controversy of the Rapture (the return of Christ for the Church) and His 2nd Advent (the return of Christ WITH His bride, the Church, for Israel and the Gentile nations).
With the world on the brink of war and self-annihilation, the unrelenting unrest in the Arab world, the persecution of the Church, and terrorism becoming a way of life - what is the biblical basis for the hope of our final deliverance as Christians?
Is the world coming to an end?
Are we living in the last days?
Is the Apocalypse the only thing left on the horizon of human destiny?
Is the church the true Israel? Is God finished with Israel?
The Blessed Hope faces the controversy head-on and reveals the revelation of the blessed hope for the church.

The Final Revelation of Jesus Christ - Session 6
This is the sixth of eight messages Doug gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow.
Here are my notes:
o “The framework of the coming day of visitation as an eschatological conclusion of the church age – those have not been properly integrated theologically and exegetically into the text (of Revelation 2 and 3).”
o God is going to break in and deliver His remnant at the end of the church age – the surviving remnant.
o “Only the Holy Spirit of God can begin to open up to us the meaning and the significance of the Person that he (Apostle John) sees. It’s the Person.”
o “Can we say that we are here for the testimony of Jesus?”
o “The church, in a representative way, not so much in the physical aspects, but in the moral and spiritual glory, this testimony (of Jesus as the bright morning star) will be at the end, and therefore eclipse all that took place in the Book of Acts. Whatever took place in the Book of Acts, at the end, God will transcend. That has not yet happened. And this is the result of the day of visitation.”
o “’The morning star arising in your hearts’ – plural; that’s the result, the effects of the day of visitation.”
o “To the degree that you and I are progressively conformed to His death, there will be a commensurate and corresponding to Christ in His resurrection. And as we’re progressively brought into conformity with Christ in His resurrection, that means victory over death and victory over sin that is the power of death, and victory over the sin nature that’s still in our body.”
o “As we go on in the Lord, that is as we come more into union with His death progressively, and therefore gradually more and more into union with Christ in His resurrection, that is the staging for us to come into ascension union with Him. Ascension union is victory over the powers of darkness.”
o “At the end, in the day of visitation, there will be a company of people who God has dealt with – dealt with – dealt with; as God vomits out of His mouth the lukewarm Laodicea, and judgment begins at the household of God, through that there’ll be a company that He’ll lay His hand on. When He lays His hand on that people, they’re going to rise up and they’re going to be in the good of Philippians 3:11 exanastasis – out-resurrection from among the dead in a mortal body. That’s the morning star testimony.”
o “The reality of who Jesus Christ in a people at the end will be so great, that the Adversary will be driven back!”
o “Anyone who has not repented in coming in to the potentiality of this reality, they are not going to be among those who are alive and survive unto the coming of the Lord (1 Thess. 4:17). We have to be right with the Lord; we have to get right now!”
o “It’s only when we are dead men that resurrection can occur.”

Sent... Went... Put!
In case you've never heard Maj. W. Ian Thomas, you'll want to hear this message. Maj. Thomas was an evangelist to Christians. He taught us that Jesus' death on the cross and shedding His blood saves us from our sins; but it's His resurrection and ascension that gives us authority. Due to a conference I attended in Siloam Springs back in the early 80's where he spoke, my Christian life took a most important turn for which I will always be grateful.

The Final Revelation of Jesus Christ - Session 5
This is the fifth of eight messages Doug gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow. Doug recaps previous messages while reminding us of very important things we need to remember, especially as the days get darker, and the day of visitation is here.
Here are my notes:
o “There are prophecies embedded (in Revelation 2 and 3) that will not be fulfilled until the day of visitation.” How many Bible teachers and prophecy teachers proclaim this?
o “A morning star company at the end of the age, that will overwhelm the powers of darkness; Satan will be overwhelmed! He will be terrorized! His instruments will shrink back in shame.”
o The church is where people come to see Jesus. “If the local church is anything other than the revelation of Jesus Christ, it becomes something of (fallen) man. The local church is the representation of the universal corporate body of Christ.”
o Doug gives a good synopsis on the vision of the chariot of God in Ezekiel – no, it wasn’t a UFO.
o Old Testament “prophets were raised up because the priests failed to communicate the word of God.”
o The messengers (pastors) of the local church: “He’s not to be the messenger of his agenda; he’s not to be the messenger of some denominational head; he’s not to be the messenger of the pope!... He’s to be the messenger of the Lord. And what characterizes him? … to teach the word of God; to be true to the word of God; to present the word of God to the people.”
o Revelation 1 – “This is the concluding revelation that will bring the church age to completion; this is the revelation of Jesus Christ as the bright morning star… Have we seen Him? Is we have seen Him, we will fall; and it’s when we fall, then and only then can He raise us up to be what we need to be in this final closing hour of the church age.”
o In all the years I’ve been editing and producing Doug’s messages, there has never been a time of such resistance and physical challenges that have seemed to fight every inch of accomplishing each installment. I stand into all prayer covering and support as I choose to continue fully assured the He who began a good work in me will bring it to completion.

Eternal Inheritance Session 3
This is the third of five messages Pastor Doug Riggs gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow, in September-October 2010.
Here are my notes:
o “Christ is our inheritance; but Christ fully formed in the saints is God’s inheritance in the saints.”
o “God obtaining the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the us is sandwiched right in between our obtaining our inheritance in Christ.”
o Doug quoted this to us many times over the years what he learned in a theology class: “The decree of God – that is His eternal purpose – is His holy, wise and sovereign purpose comprehending at once – that is, simultaneously and eternally – all things that ever were or will be as to their causes, courses, conditions, and relations, as the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity determines their certain futurition.” In spite of the angels and mankind having the freedom to make choices, it is God who ultimately determines the outcome of those choices.
o “To be set apart – to be conformed to the image of Christ – in every aspect of our being, that is the whole goal of experiential sanctification in this life.”
o The Old Testament gives us the meaning, explanation, interpretation and the understanding of our inheritance in Christ and its significance to us, as well as God’s inheritance in His saints.
o Doug exhorts anyone thinking we should be hunting for Nephilim to do battle with them need to think again. Our battle is not with flesh and blood (including hybrids), and our weapons are not carnal (i.e.: earthly). “We’re dealing with the high-ranking principalities who are opposed to the church attaining the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ and possessing their inheritance in Christ.”
o God is “looking for people in this generation to be a Joshua and Caleb” – the only two from the countless people delivered from Egypt who followed the Lord fully and were able to possess their inheritance, who didn’t fall short and die in the wilderness.
o For those who use translations that say we are a ‘peculiar’ people, the correct term is ‘special treasure’ as possessed by a king – ‘the King’s private treasure’ – we are God’s treasured inheritance. To use ‘peculiar’ in today’s vocabulary is to say we are strange or weird. That’s not the correct understanding.
o God brought Israel out of Egypt so that He might bring them in to the land of the inheritance; God brings us out of the world so that He might bring us into the unsearchable riches in Christ.
o “How many of us are satisfied today as Christians? Are we pressing for the mark of the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus like we see Paul? Paul has the spirit of Joshua and Caleb. Are we in pursuit of Christ like Paul was?”
o “If we’re going to ‘grow up into Christ with reference to all things’, then we have to dispossess principalities and powers – and that is a corporate thing… corporate relatedness.”
o “Consecration, being set apart to God and His purpose, being loyal to Him – consecration, dedication to God is necessary in order to possess one’s inheritance.”
o “We stand into the very righteousness of Christ and take possession of our inheritance by dispossessing the enemy.”
o “As we press in to gain our inheritance in Christ, that is giving God the opportunity to obtain the riches of the glory of His inheritance in us.”

Repentance - Session 2
This is the second of seven messages Pastor Doug Riggs gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow recorded November-December 2011.
Here are my notes:
o This installment of messages deals not only with individual believers’ need for repentance from dead works and from sins we commit, but also the church in general.
o Doug addresses how we quench the Holy Spirit by our dead works in the old man,, and how we grieve Him through our disobedience and sins.
o “The measure in which we learn to abide in Jesus and to appropriate His life daily, appropriate His character, His patience, His love, His righteousness, His sanctification, that is the process of being conformed to the image of His Son. The Holy Spirit is there to help us.”
o “In order to repent from dead works, we gradually come to see that anything we do apart from Him is dead works.”
o Doug addresses examples of church discipline which requires repentance on the part of the offenders as well as repentance if the church needs to make adjustments. This requires exercising apostolic authority as given in the word.
o What was Jesus’s last call for believers to repent? It is what will be required for the church to be raptured in these last days.
o “Revelation 2 and 3 – the whole emphasis is repentance; to be a prepared people for the Lord’s return.”
o John the Baptist’s ministry was to prepare Israel for the 1st Advent and make ready the way for the Lord to come; the ministry in these last days of the church is to prepare for the 2nd Advent and to make ready the way for the Lord to return. Both require repentance.
o “When Jesus Christ returns for His church, judgment will have already begun at the household of God. It will have reached a point where only that which is Philadelphia is left.” – These are ‘those who are alive and survive’ (1 Thessalonians 4:15, 17). “There’s going to be a reduction.”
o Doug gives a very helpful understanding on what Jesus meant when He admonished the church at Ephesus that they had left first love. As we are to love Jesus Christ, we also are to love what He loves – the church, His body.
o Loving what Jesus loves – “to endure, to suffer with Christ until Christ is fully formed in His people. You can’t have a corporate love for Christ as just some separate thing without loving the members of His body… and that love is sacrificial, and seeks the other’s highest good and best, even at the expense of his own well-being.”
o “You can have an orthodox fundamental bible church and not necessarily be a light that reveals Christ in your midst… It’s got to be more than just sound doctrine. It’s got to be Christ in evidence in His people corporately as raised from the dead, the testimony of Jesus – the lampstand revealing the innermost character and nature of Christ to the world – and when we gather together. It’s ‘Christ all and in all.’”
o “If Christ is first love, we’re going to love what He loves most, and that is preparing His bride. We cannot just love Christ and make Him our own private object of devotion, unless we’re loving what He loves.”
o Doug’s prayer: “Grant me the grace to repent every day for the rest of my life; teach me how to walk in repentance every day so that it’s not I – but Christ living in me.”

Eternal Inheritance Session 4
This is the fourth of five messages Doug gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow, in 2010.
Here are my notes:
o Doug brings clarity to the passage in Ephesians 1 that is mistakenly used to imply that we as believers are adopted into God’s family. The Chinese translators bring out the better understanding that we ‘attain the name of a son’ – that is, to recover the lost inheritance. Sonship has the implication that once we reach maturity and competence, we are adopted into a new position in the family, entrusted to conduct our Father’s business in using His name and authority.
o Jesus, as man, through His obedience, recovered the inheritance that Adam lost through his disobedience.
o “Our biggest problem in possessing our inheritance is Adam – the old man.”
o We all are in a race. At the judgment seat of Christ it’s possible to find ourselves disqualified and therefore not receiving the prize – the reward of the inheritance we should have been fighting for. That’s the idea of being ‘saved so as through fire’ – having eternal life, but being denied the prize because of said disqualification.
o Do we want to settle for salvation? … or do we want a full salvation, “that which represents the fulness of our inheritance in Christ… is that which encompasses our full inheritance in Christ.”
o Quoting from what Doug heard at the conference (see below), “Our Lord is the Grand Architect of our circumstances; He knows how to arrange our circumstances in such a way to confront and bring out into the light that which still has its source in Adam.”
o What was (and is) the primary reason one did (or does) not attain their inheritance? Answer: idolatry.
o “Anything that represents Christianity that’s not on the ground of Christ is going to be shaken in the end… There’s a great and final shaking coming upon the church, leading up to just prior to the rapture of the church – a final shaking is coming. ‘Judgment must begin at the household of God.’”
o “Part of our inheritance is ruling and reigning with Christ in the Millennium.”
o “He (Jesus) has perfected everything that God expects or requires of you and me.”
o Entering God’s rest is another example of entering into our inheritance in Christ. Jesus Christ is God’s complete and utter satisfaction as to all He intends for man to be. As we discover Christ as our life, we discover more and more our rest in Christ as God’s satisfaction as to what He expects of us, being conformed to His image, and Christ to be fully formed in us. “He answers to all of God’s thought and purpose for man.”
o “The more we enter into the Father’s complacency and satisfaction that He has for Jesus Christ, the more we enter into and take possession of our inheritance in Christ.”
o “God already has His inheritance in Christ. And that inheritance that our Father has in Christ as Son of Man is our inheritance; we’re to be co-sharers with Him… We are co-inheritors, sharing the same body, fellow associates of the promise.”
o “The new covenant was only given to the new man. The old covenant was given to the old man; and the old man can’t keep it. That’s why a new covenant was made, and a new man is provided, so that we can walk in newness of life.”
o “From the point of salvation to the point of entering our rest in Christ, there is this process of dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit. Why? So the spirit can come into a place of ascendency, and the soul can be brought into submission to the human spirit in union with the Holy Spirit, and therefore, when the spirit in union with the Holy Spirit is in that place of ascendency, then the believer has entered into God’s rest.”

Christ our Life - Session 4
This is the fourth of four messages Doug gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow.
Here are my notes:
o Doug explains the illustration Jesus gave of the grain of wheat that needs to go into the ground and die – and how that applied to Jesus – and how it applies to us.
o One thing I noticed, especially in this fourth interview, is the weakness Doug must have been dealing with, especially in the beginning. But he gets more and more animated as we listen, so full of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, he can hardly hold back his exuberance and enthusiasm as he goes from one end of the Bible to the other, and back and forth countless times, making his point. I think this series was one of the very first he did with GeorgeAnn Hughes, so this was a new outreach opportunity for him to teach. Up to this point it was primarily to our small assembly he taught face-to-face.
o “Unless there’s a death to who we are by nature, who we are by natural birth, then that germ that is within us as divine life, it cannot come to full fruition and fulfill the purpose for which God has redeemed us.”
o Notice Doug doesn’t preach sermons. He was a Bible teacher, not a preacher. These are Bible studies, not homilies and stories to entertain the listeners. He took the stewardship God gave him very seriously for over 40 years. There were few times I can remember coming out from a bible study and thinking, “Wow, wasn’t that a wonderful message.” – however, there were some I still remember that I did come away with as such.
o Doug corrects the error taught that it was Jesus’ physical blood that saves us – Jesus offered Himself – His soul – His Person was the offering for sin. It’s His soul that was made sin. The antitype of the blood is the soul. Jesus’ blood on the cross was the type – Jesus’ soul was the antitype, that which is what the blood points to. Similarly, ‘the lamb of God’ is the type; Jesus as the sacrificial lamb is the antitype, the fulfillment of the type.
o “All three Persons (of the Godhead) are completely interdependent for the self-revelation and the self-realization of each Member, and all three Members make up one Godhead and share the same essence. But for that essence to function in a personal way, there’s a tri-unity, and that tri-unity is an interdependence – a consubstantiality – a co-essentiality.”
o Doug explains the difference between two Greek words, morphē and schema, both translated ‘form’ or ‘appearance’. What has helped me understand the difference: morphē is like a Hersey’s Kiss – what you see on the outside is what is on the inside; schema is like an M&M, what you see on the outside is not representative of what’s on the inside. They’re both candy, but not the same. Think of that when you hear Doug teaching on Philippians 2, Jesus ever existing in the form (morphē) of God (verse 6), taking the form (morphē) of a bondslave, was found in the appearance (schema) as a man (verse 8).
o “The Father is wholly and completely dependent upon the Son for His self-revelation; the Son is wholly and completely dependent upon the Father for His self-realization; and the Holy Spirit is likewise wholly dependent upon the Father and the Son for who He is as the revealer of God in our lives and in our hearts.” (Chaw on that for a spell… - wow!)
o “Every Theophany in the Old Testament is in reality a Christophany, a manifestation of Jesus Christ in His preincarnate form.”
o “How many people have heard this, ‘Family is above all!’ Well Jesus puts a sword right through that. Family is not number one.” As Jesus did not come to bring peace, He came to bring a sword – and that at times it is against family, soul and blood ties and attachments. Loving our family is subservient to loving the Lord our God.
o Doug challenges our willingness to be not only born-again believers in Jesus, but to be His disciples. There’s a cost for that.
o In confronting those who like to listen to cross-less messages by preachers who make you feel good, “If you’re offended – you need to be offended.”
o We need to have a surrendered soul daily to be a disciple of Jesus.
o “If we’re going to know Christ as our life, we have to know how the life of The Disciple, Christ, functions as humanity.”
o How do we gain Christ? We have to lose our soul-life… “so that soul-life through death as a grain of wheat might come out into resurrection life-union with the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Repentance - Session 5
This is the fifth of seven messages Pastor Doug Riggs gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow recorded November-December 2011.
Here are my notes:
o Doug begins by addressing concerns about the end of 2011 and beginning of 2012 and what was expected to be a shift in the spiritual realm and the convergence and confluence of pagan prophecies, entering into a realm of ‘higher consciousness’ that ultimately will bring about the new world order during the 7-year day of the Lord (tribulation).
o “You can have orthodoxy in terms of correct doctrine without moral correspondence to Christ and His character.” It’s not just sins we need to repent of – but every way in which we are falling short of Christ being fully formed in us, and us being conformed to His nature and character.
o Doug makes it a point to address secret and hidden sins that are hindering our walk and fellowship with the Lord and with our brothers and sisters in Christ. There is no shortage of appeals to repent in the Scriptures, and the point is that to ignore them is to in the end lose full reward and the full inheritance God intended for us. What will happen in the day of visitation to those of us who haven’t repented? See the warnings to Thyatira, Sardis, and Laodicea.
o “Not all believers are overcomers (in the sense in which they are presented in the Book of the Revelation). An overcomer is one who is rewarded for their faithfulness.”
o Doug helps us understand the difference between ‘the Lamb’s book of life’ and ‘the book of life’ by taking us back into the Old Testament to see how the term that is found in Revelation is used and to be understood. To have our name blotted out of the book of life means we die in the wilderness and not allowed to obtain and enjoy the inheritance God meant for us to have. It does not mean we lose eternal life or lose our salvation. It means we lose our inheritance that God meant for us to enjoy for eternity.
o “The book of life is all of God’s provision for a person to go from the Exodus – that is, from the Passover lamb – through the wilderness – into the land of Canaan, to dispossess the enemy and to come into the possession of their inheritance.”
o Doug reminds us that righteousness is “conformity to the revealed will of God in thought, word and deed.”
o “There is a temporal judgment upon those who do not repent of their idolatry.”
o All who receive Jesus Christ as Savior, who are born again, have eternal life promised to them. However, not all who are born again obtain full reward nor a full inheritance. Salvation is a gift received by faith. Our inheritance is obtained by conquest and cooperation with God as He takes us through the sanctification process which includes suffering, conflict, perseverance, obedience, faithfulness, and purity.
o “There will be in the last generation those that are a Philadelphian character, same as we see those that are commended at Thessalonica, in contradistinction to those who died the sin unto death at Corinth, they will go right through to the rapture. They’ll be among those who are alive and survive at the coming of the Lord.”
o Doug corrects those who wrongfully interpret Revelation 3:10 “I also will keep you from the hour of testing…” as a pre-tribulation rapture passage. It is not. “This is a promise to a Philadelphian remnant.” This passage, “that hour which is about to come upon the whole world”, is referring to the day of visitation and not the 7-year day of the Lord (tribulation).
o As we listen to these and many other messages by Doug, he goes through a tremendous number of scriptural references to make his point. He challenges the listener: “When I quote scriptures – when I make statements – I’m giving the word of God, and I’m not through them. It’s up to you who are listening to follow through.” People need to know what Doug has been teaching over 40 years isn’t Doug’s teaching – it’s his faithful and persistent explanation of truth as found in the word of God, and not something he came up with.
o Speaking of the day of visitation, “There will be believers that will not be alive and survive unto the coming of the Lord; their names will be blotted out from that book of life – believers! – they’ll be in heaven, but they’ll be ‘saved so as through fire in contradistinction to what we see in 2 Peter 1, ‘a wide entrance’ into the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ – two extremes: full reward vs. loss of reward and the inheritance.”
o Though the passage in Revelation 3:20 (“Behold I stand at the door and knock…”) is often used in evangelism, He’s talking to the church – Jesus is on the outside of the church knocking, seeking to gain entry and to have fellowship with His body – His bride. How many churches and church services even know if Jesus is in their presence – or if He’s on the outside?

God's Purpose for Working With SRA Survivors of Trauma
Recorded 5-25-1997, Pastor Doug Riggs gave this incredible message that needs to be heard and realized now more than ever.
Due to the somewhat poor quality of the recording, a transcript is included so one is encouraged to follow along.
Doug used Old Testament typology of Israel's deliverance from Egypt (the world) and the requirement to dispossess the enemy in order to take by force the inheritance of the land of Canaan (Christ) to give us a clear picture of where we are here and now at the end of the church age and the inheritance given to us not yet conquered and possessed.
"When we begin to move into the direction of taking possession of our real inheritance, it's then that we find the enemy in our midst. If we remain status quo, we don't even understand what our inheritance is in Christ, and we're not making any movement towards that inheritance, the enemy is silent. You won't stir him up... But you start talking about the corporate goal of the church of coming into full possession of their inheritance, and begin to work in a practical way for God's people to move into that fullness, then all hell breaks loose. Then we find out what spirital ground we're really on. To me, I've already made the decision it's unto death - it's possession of the inheritance or death. I'm not interested in something in-between - a compromise."
"The first generation of the church did not go in and possess their inheritance - they did not! So, the church has been wandering for 2,000 years in the wilderness corporately. This is not every individual, because there have been individuals that have gone in - and we read about these wonderful saints. But the corporate aspect of the church has never gone in."
"The rapture is not something just as an event on a calendar somewhere. There is a divine criteria that is set forth in the will of God, and all the prayers of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st Thessalonians, 2nd Thessalonians, those prayers that he prayed for the church, as they are realized, and the prayer of our Lord Jesus in John 17, as those prayers are realized, a remnant of that church will go in and take possession. This generation has been selected for the opportunity to go in - to seize that opportunity and to take possession of God's inheritance. But there are many enemies! That inheritance - those unsearchable riches in Christ - there are fortified positions blocking our access. And these fortified positions are not in a piece of real estate. They are now inside the souls of God's people; the enemy has put these things inside."
"If you're going to take possession of your inheritance, then you have to disinherit the enemy! That's why we are in this work; that's why we're doing this. That's why every Christian counselor that is working with someone that was abused, especially where there is demonization and fragmentation inside; you are helping empower that person to go in and dispossess that which the enemy has occupied. And disposses it for what purpose? So the Lord can be there."
"Many churches are not dealing with it - sweeping it under the carpet. 'Don't talk about these things from the pulpit! Let's have our songs, three points, and a prayer' and 'Amen' and send everybody home. Let's follow our 3-point homiletical outline. Trash you homiletics! There's nowhere in the Bible Paul followed a homiletical outline! You only get that in seminary. That's where preachers get burried - seminary. It's worthless! You lift up the word of God and teach from the word of God - that's what you're called to do, pastors."
"God has allowed this (i.e.: SRA/DID) so that with those vast resources in Christ, we can begin to appropriate those riches and those resources so that we can go in and dispossess an enemy that's far greater and more intelligent than we are; on our own, we can't do it. So that postures us to begin to lay ahold of that which is supernatural - that which is given us, which is the Lord Jesus Himself."
"And now there's a new generation right on the brink; they have to be willing to allow the Lord to bring them into identification on a practical basis with Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, and go in and take possession."

The Full Armor of God - Session 1
Edited from a ByteShow podcast, Pastor Doug Riggs gives an in depth deep-dive into what Christian spiritual warfare is, and how we as the church are to be equipped and enabled to fight not only demons, but principalities and powers who are against the church attaining to its calling and destiny in Christ.
Why are we saved? Is it fire insurance to keep us from an eternity in hell? Is it so we can go to heaven and live happily ever after? Why aren’t we told about an inheritance offered to every born-again believer that must be taken by warfare? We are given the free gift of eternal life, but the inheritance requires conquest. This means WAR – and the warfare we are called to requires us to dispossess a very formidable enemy, the rulers, powers, world forces of this darkness, spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, spheres and dimensions. ‘The kingdom of God is taken by storm! Violent men seize it for themselves!’ (a paraphrase from the original – Matthew 11:12).
There are many misconceptions and interpretations that are cleared up in Session 1. What is the real meaning of ‘adoption’? Are we individually called to put on the full armor of God? What is ‘praying in the Spirit’? What is the difference between demons and fallen angels? What is the ‘mystery’ the Apostle Paul revealed? What is God’s ‘eternal purpose’? What are ‘the heavenlies’? Are all Christians supposed to be fighting a spiritual war? Why do we need to be a part of a local church? Can’t we just fellowship using YouTube, Facebook, Zoom, etc.? What does it mean that we wrestle against principalities and powers? Aren’t all Christians going to rule and reign with Christ? Isn’t the church going to be delivered before bad things start happening? What is the ‘evil day’ we will be going through? Are aliens from other planets? Are UFOs from other planets? Who are the aliens? What is the helmet of salvation?

The Final Revelation of Jesus Christ - Session 8
This is the eighth of eight messages Doug gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow. This installment takes a look at the predominant characteristics of the condition of the church, especially here in the west, known a the church of Laodicea.
Here are my notes:
o “God will have in His church the glory of Jesus Christ. He is going to prosecute and bring to conclusion in this last final generation that which will bring the church into conformity to the image of His Son. So in the midst of this darkness, in the midst of this falling away of Laodicea, God’s provision is a Person, Jesus Christ, the Amen, the faithful and true Witness… God’s provision for all declension, for all falling away from His full thought is a deeper and more full revelation of Jesus Christ.”
o I grew up in the church under some very good teaching – but for decades believed lukewarm members of the church of Laodicea that were going to be vomited out were unbelievers – ‘nominal Christians’ we called them – those who went to church every Sunday but weren’t really saved. Therefore I missed the truth that these are Christians – not unbelievers – who need to repent, or otherwise be removed in judgment prior to the rapture.
o Doug gives a very detailed helpful explanation of what it means for us to buy gold refined in fire. “And what is the money? I’ve suffered the loss of all things… it’s the very self-life rooted in Adam that must die. So, to purchase gold – we must die. Everything about us that’s not according to Christ must go through the cross; it must die.”
o Doug clearly defines the difference between positional (imputed) righteousness and experiential (practical) righteousness – who we are in Christ and that with we put on, the righteousness of Christ – the righteous acts of the saints.
o Though ‘putting on the full armor of God’ individually may remind us what it means to be clothed and protected in Christ, the passage in Ephesians 6 specifically teaches us it is a corporate putting on of the armor. For example, the shield of faith is not only for personal protection, but as we are joined together for battle as a phalanx, we also cover and protect those around us as our shields of faith are interlocked where the fiery darts become impenetrable.
o This whole message is chock full of detailed scriptural instruction on how to turn from apostacy and return back to first love, the beginning to reverse Laodicea and find ourselves in conformity to the church of Philadelphia.
o “Union and communion prepares us for throne union… Sharing His sufferings, sharing His glory. They are interdependent and interrelated.”

Are You Afraid?
Dealing with FEAR??
Afraid of what's going on?... of the future? ... of what happens after death?
Are you convinced you're good enough to spend eternity in heaven?
Just how good do we need to be to go to heaven?
Do 'good people' go to heaven, and 'bad people' go to hell?
Is your eternity secure?
How do I know I'll be going to heaven after I die?
What happens if we don't believe in Jesus Christ, Yeshua Hamashiach?

Christ our Life - Session 3
This is the third of four messages Pastor Doug Riggs gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow.
Here are my notes:
o Doug once again presents the foundational truths on how we are to live this impossible Christian life. only Christ can live that life in and through us.
o Jesus Christ as God is the law-giver; Jesus Christ as the Son Man is the law-fulfiller.
o “Our biggest problem is not that we are weak – our biggest problem is that we’re too strong.”
o “The measure in which we’ve been broken, the measure in which we’ve experienced conformity with Christ in His death, where that flesh (which is the old Adamic nature) has been practically and experientially crucified, to that measure and that degree the life of Christ can be released and there can be effective ministry.”
o Doug takes on the challenge to explain and help understand the trinity – the one God expressed in three Persons – with helpful illustrations.
o “If we’re to know Christ as our life, we have to know Christ as the living Word.”
o If what we are doing is not coming out from Jesus Christ as our source, it’s dead works. As Jesus Christ was entirely dependent on the Father, so too must we be dependent on Christ as the source of the life that will please God and produce fruit.
o “We are nothing! And the sooner we settle this, then God is free to use us, because we’re not occupied with ourself anymore. And that’s what the cross will do. If we allow the Holy Spirit long enough to bring us through various circumstances into conformity with Christ in His death, that liberates us from the slavery and the limitations of that old humanity, and brings us into Christ our life.”
o Doug clearly spells out the correlation between the absolute dependence of Jesus Christ on His Father and our absolute dependence on Him as our life.
o “Jesus in His humanity is the only man who has ever pleased God.”
o Doug’s take on Romans 11:36: “From Him – the ultimate source, God the Father; through Him – Jesus Christ, the only means and the divine agent; and to Him – that is in and by the Holy Spirit; glory to God.”
o Doug’s take on Ephesians 4:4: “One God and Father who is over all, through all - in the Person of His Son; and in all - in the Person of the Holy Spirit.”
o …on 1 Corinthians 12:4 ff: “One Minister, the Holy Spirit; we have one Person, the Father who actuates all this (gifts of the spirit); and the Holy Spirit, the one who is distributing these various actions in the body of Christ as He wills.”
o “If God is working, it’s always present tense Three in One acting One in Three.”
o “Jesus must be discovered daily as The Way in your life and mine.”
o “We come to know The Truth by knowing Christ as The Way, because He as The Way leads us to The Truth as it is in Jesus. And as we come to know The Truth as it is in Jesus, we know Jesus as the Life; Way – Truth – and Life. The goal is Life.”
o (John 14:10) “Jesus, in His sinless humanity, is in the Father, and the Father is in Me (Jesus) – there’s the key to the Christian life right there.”
o “The Christian life is just more and more the Word becoming flesh in your life and mine.” This is why we endure and learn from the trials, tribulations, suffering, and child discipline we go through.
o “As we become one with Him in His sufferings, then the life of God is released.”
o There’s a whole lot of washing of water with the Word in this message (and series).
o At Pentecost, Jesus “in the Person of His other Self (the Holy Spirit) comes to be the Life of our life; the Action of our action; the Source of our activity; the Cause of His own effect; the Power of everything that God demands; the Secret behind all obedience.”
o “It takes Jesus to live to God; it takes Christ to be our life, to life a life to the interest and to the pleasure of God.”
o “The Christian life is Jesus right now in resurrection life, in the Person of His other Self, the Holy Spirit, living out the power of God in us in the midst of our weakness… We know that power when we are in our weakest moments, because when we’re weak, then we have to depend on the grace of God. We have to know that apart from Him, we are nothing.”
o This life of God is not a life of imitation – it’s a life of derivation. “Our life is out from God as a source, out from Christ as the source through the Person of the Holy Spirit.”

Repentance - Session 1
This is the first of seven messages Pastor Doug Riggs gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow recorded November-December 2011.
Here are my notes:
o My first thought as I begin the challenge to edit and condense this 7-part series on repentance: How in the world could anyone teach 7 hours on repentance. Just change your thinking and follow up with a change of your behavior. Isn’t that what repentance is all about? As we proceed (me with editing and you with hearing), I believe we’ll all be in for a surprising and bountiful buffet of spiritual meat and refreshment.
o Doug distinguishes between the preaching of repentance for Israel by John the Baptist in preparing the way for the Messiah to come – First Advent – and the call for repentance for the church in these last days in preparing the way for the Messiah to come for His bride – and subsequently the Second Advent.
o There is the repentance that leads to salvation – and there’s the repentance we need as Christians which moves us forward in our sanctification.
o To those who present the gospel to unbelievers and require that they repent of their sins (plural), Doug corrects this false teaching and points to the fact there is only one sin we need to repent of, and that is the sin of unbelief. Then once we repent and are born-again, we can address sins we need to repent of. If you are presenting the gospel and require your listener that they have to repent of all their sins, how in the world are they going to do that? Do you remember every sin you ever committed??? “I repent of all my sins… I’m sorry for all my sins…” – that doesn’t do anything.
o Repentance is believing and obeying… and you cannot have revival without repentance. To have true faith, there must be repentance; if there’s true repentance, then there’s faith. Turning to God involves repentance and faith.
o “If all that Jesus Christ did was die on the cross for our sins and remove the penalty of sin, that is not enough to qualify for you and me to live with God forever… There must be something positive imparted to us, imputed to us, to qualify us to live with a righteous and holy God forever… He pronounces and declares us righteous – that’s justification.”
o “The devil has access to people who have not repented” … not only unbelievers, but believers.

Christ our Life - Session 2
This is the second of four messages Doug gave in his interviews with GeorgeAnn Hughes in her podcast, The ByteShow.
Here are my notes:
o “As we face the days ahead, we’re really going to need to know where our security is, so that as the world is falling apart, at least temporarily, in preparation for the reign of antichrist, which is a preliminary and a prelude to the return of Jesus Christ to settle the score and to cleanse this earth by judgment to establish His reign on earth – we need to be a people who know the times…”
o “If we, both collectively and corporately and on a personal basis, are going to know Christ our life, that will be in direct proportionality to who we are in Adam no longer living.”
o “Even though judicially and positionally all that we are as Christians have been put to death in the death of Christ; experientially, there’s so much often in us as Christians that has not yet been conformed to His death… experientially, every Christian is at a different place in our transition from Adam, our old humanity, to Christ, the new humanity.”
o Jesus “now lives in us to become our life, to save us from the indwelling power of sin. The saving life of Christ is that life that indwells every Christian through new birth and the Person of the Holy Spirit, who indwells us, to deliver us from the power of sin… it’s the life of Christ that delivers us from the power of sin.”
o “We cannot live the Christian life. If you as a Christian are not living a victorious Christian life, it’s because God never intended you as a Christian to live a victorious Christian life apart from Christ – because the Christian life is Christ. The Christian life is Christ our life.”
o “It takes a Person for us to make the experiential transition from Adam to Christ.”
o “The only thing that makes us of any kind of value to God is the measure in which Christ has been formed in us and is now operational in us and through us in the person of the Holy Spirit.”
o “’The Creator did not create junk; He did not redeem junk; and He does not wear junk.’”
o Philippians 3:11 Exanastasis – “… a moral and spiritual resurrection that lifts me out from among the dead. That moral and spiritual resurrection is knowing the saving life of Christ in fulness…”
o Doug addresses the gnosticism that Paul confronted in his day, not unlike what is included in some of the new age teaching today, a neo-gnosticism.
o Baptism is explained as the Christian counterpoint and definition of Jewish circumcision. It is the picture and demonstration of what happens when one is identified with Christ in His death and resurrection as we are identified with Him and He with us; we are incorporated into Christ in His death and resurrection.
o “The only access Satan and the evil host have with the human race is through uncrucified flesh. Satan’s connection with this world – his rulership over this world as the prince of the power of the air – is through human agents that are living out from Adam. The only power he has over a Christian’s life is the degree that the Christian is living out from the natural man – not just sinful man – but the natural man… Satan has no access to the new creation resurrection identity – zero access; he cannot touch it.”
o “Christ our life becomes more and more an experiential reality when that fleshly nature is put to death in us – it’s already true in Christ, our representative; but it must be true in us.”
o “Our victory, over not only sin, but over all that which represents the enemy’s influence in our life, is through the cross! The blood is that which provides justification from the penalty of sins; the cross delivers us from principalities and powers.”

The Justice of God in the Last Days
This is one of Pastor Doug Riggs' earliest interviews with GeorgeAnne Hughes. He begins with noting that since Pentecost and on into the eternal state, there are three distinctions of mankind: the nations (Gentiles); Israel; and the church. Each has a distinct history and a distinct destiny, and none are identical. Without this elementary understanding, one is left to wander by every wind of doctrine but that of the truth when it comes to a clear understanding of calling and eschatology.
Doug discusses the warnings we see in scripture that warn nations of judgment – and the fact America is not exempt. Throughout this message, we note man’s failure and Satan’s inability to bring the world peace, and what God’s remedy is, turning over all to the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. We see how God’s holiness and righteousness is satisfied when God once for all dealt with the sin and depravity of mankind. The justice and righteousness of God not only sends unrepentant sinners to an eternal lake of fire, but this same justice and righteousness sends repentant sinners to eternal life in heaven.
