November 10th Deer Hunt
Hello to all my friends and family. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch another video of mine. For this video, I decided to spend the whole day in the same spot. I have been trying to keep still in one place for the entire day hoping that would increase my odds of at least seeing a deer. The morning was cool and beautiful. Clouds were in the forecast with warmer weather. I was hoping a few does would at least come out in this spot. There always seem to be tracks in this area. Thank you for watching. God Bless and Good Hunting to You!

Deer Hunting in the Snow
Hello to all. Thank you for watching another video of mine. After yesterday's very windy hunt, I decided to hunt closer to home on this day. I had given this place a few days rest and wanted to take another crack at this area. I am hunting where multiple trails converge and I am hoping something will come by.I decided to spice up the area a little by also creating a MOC Scrape with a licking branch about 50 feet from where I will be sitting. I normally do not like sitting this close to an area I hope to see deer but due to the given terrain, I had no choice. I hope you enjoy the video. Please like and subscribe if you would. God Bless and Good Hunting to you!

Deer Season Day One 2023
Hello to all and thank you for watching another video of mine. FINALLY, it is the first day of deer season for 2023. Sadly Mother Nature is not working with us on the first day. The temperature will be in the 70's and I did see 75 degrees on this day. In Maine, at this time of year, we usually have 40s and some 50's so it is WAY too warm for this time of year. The deer will not be moving much. We do have a cold front coming in and the temperature will be back where it belongs after today. In Maine, we are still in the dark ages and STILL can not hunt on Sunday so Monday should be a far better time to hunt. We shall see. Thank you so much for watching. God Bless and Good Hunting to you! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

BWHS E6 Disabled and Elderly Hunters
Hello to all. Thank you so much for watching this series of videos. This video will be the last of the (Big Woods Hunting Secrets) series. This video is to hopefully help the disabled hunter and the Elderly hunter with some useful information. I have been hunting for about 46 years and 36 of that is while being disabled. I hope that some of the information in this video and the others is helpful to people who need it. I give useful tips on what I do during hunting season and how I have adapted to being disabled and still hunting. I would gladly answer any questions if you would please leave them in the comments. Game Crane Evaluation
Hello to all my friends and family. This is just a quick video for all people who may be considering purchasing one of these Game Hoists. The box was damaged upon my receiving it. There were lots of scratches in the paint and the stylophone was in pieces when it arrived. Luckily nothing was bent and all the bolts were still there. It does suggest that you have at least 2 people help with the product but I am a paraplegic and I was able to do it on my own. The Directions are very generalized and not very detailed. I did put the Hoist together exactly as was described in the directions. I do want to note that in the cable spool for the Hoist, there were a couple knots so if you do purchase one pay attention to how the cable is in the spool. It is easier getting the knots out of the spool when you still have everything on the ground and the hand crank is still not bolted to the Hoist. The metal is heavy and of decent quality. This particular hoist claims to handle 500 pounds and it does feel like it can do so. I hope this video was helpful to anyone who is interested in purchasing one of these hoists. Deer Hunting Plan-B
Hello friends and family. This video is a little visual and discussion on not having all your plans in one basket. I do a little scouting just before the deer season to see what possibilities there are around the area I want to hunt. I am always looking for other areas to check out for future hunts as well as second and third options of areas to hunt just in case the wind is wrong or bad weather or if someone is already hunting where I intended to hunt. Hunting in the Big WOODS you just never know. It sort of humbles you to think you found this secret spot and then when you go you find someone else there. A lot of hunters think the same and see what you see. Options are always a good thing. Hopefully, the video at least reminds you all that we have to hunt with other hunters and we all are in search of that next deer. Take it all with a grain of salt and respect each other out there. BWHS E5 (Your Gun)
Hello to all my friends and family. Thank you once again for watching another one of my videos. This is episode 5 of my Big Woods Hunting Secrets series. This episode focuses on your gun and what I believe works best in the Big Woods of Maine. I do not claim to be a know-it-all. I just have 40+ years of hunting experience mostly in this state. There will always be other ways to do things. This is just what I find works best for me. I hope this information helps new hunters or anybody else curious about hunting and all it takes to become a good hunter. God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

Natural Ground Blind
Hello to all my friends and family. I want to thank you all for watching another video of mine. In this video I am getting a little stir crazy because of all the crazy weather we have had lately so I had to do some scouting. I am checking on food sources for the Fall as well as some bedding areas. I finally decided to go and make a second Natural Ground Blind for a nice little spot that I found last year. I am out and about just before we get hit by what is left of Hurricane Lee. Thank you once again for watching. God Bless and Good Hunting from Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

Big Woods Hunting Secrets (Different Places to Hunt) E4
Hello and Thank you for watching another video of mine. In this episode, I talk about some of the different places to hunt. There are many different places to hunt and here I try to cover a few. I again have made these videos for young and inexperienced hunters so they can get a jump on hunting with some decent knowledge. Nothing can take the place of personal experience so please do not take my words as gospel for any of these areas. Different places in different climates and states and regions will all change where, when, and how you do things. The older I have gotten the more I realize that nothing is set in stone for many things and Hunting is certainly one of them. You can hunt a place one year and see a ton of animals and make all kinds of plans to hunt better the next year. When the year shows up you find that there has been a change somewhere somehow because all the animals that were all over the place last year are now gone. General knowledge is certainly better than no knowledge. Thank you again for watching. God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

BWHS Wind and Weather E3
Hello to all. I want to thank everyone who is watching this video. Thank You! I am doing this series to help new or young hunters get a grasp on some of the things for hunting that will help them along the way. I do not say in any way that I know all there is to know about hunting. I do have a little more than 40 years of experience hunting deer in Maine and I think I can at least help a few people with some general knowledge. Once you are given this knowledge you can dig into things that interest you a little more or things that may pertain better to where you hunt. In this episode (E3) I dive into Wind and Weather. I am trying to limit the length of these videos because if they get too long nobody wants to watch them so I am cramming a lot of general information into a small space. Please realize I am not a professional at this by any means and you can clearly see that as I try to get some points across. These videos do take a lot of time and some money to create so watch accordingly. All of my videos on this channel show that a disabled person can still get out there and get it done. You will have to adapt and it certainly may not be what you have seen or done before but it is still truly enjoyable and rewarding to be able to continue to do so. Thank you again for watching. Mineral Site Trail-Camera Check
Hello to everyone watching this video. Thank you so much for checking out another video of mine. This video is a quick check of me finally getting around to checking the old mineral site trail camera. I was so busy getting the food plot ready for the season with expanding it and then I did a bunch of work in the camp yard area as well as put rocker panels on my truck and then rear wheel arches so I have been busy. The minerals were all leached into the ground. In Maine, you can not feed deer after like June 15th and they consider Minerals food, so it has been a while since I was at this site. I had a total of 759 pictures on the camera. A lot of photos were very repetitive so I filtered through a bunch so you wouldn't seem to think you were seeing a lot of the same images. I had another culprit at my bird feeder this year as well. Enjoy! God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

Big Woods Hunting Secrets Food & Cover E2
Hello to all. I Thank you for watching another video of mine. This video is the 2nd in a series to help young or inexperienced hunters get a grasp of hunting in the Big Woods Of Maine. This video went longer than I wanted but it is full of useful information. Each video series will complement the next so if you see things I may have forgotten, please comment. This knowledge is to help people. Do realize I have quite a few more to come and there is a lot more information to come but all information in the comments will help hunters. There are way more things to eat than I could put in this video. Many things to eat are hard to identify that is why I stayed with general foods. On the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife site there is a lot of additional information if you want to dig deeper. I am in no way a professional at this and I see tons of things I wish I had done differently or wish that I could have done. Know that I am a paraplegic hunter and have limited ability to do many things. Also, the weather and $ for travel to do many recordings come into play as well. Thank you again so much for watching another video of mine. God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

Big Woods Hunting Secrets (Scouting) E1
Hello everyone thank you so much for watching another video of mine. This video is the first in a series I am calling (BWHS)=Big Woods Hunting Secrets. This is (E1)= Episode One. This video is going to be a general overview of Scouting in the Big Woods. The video is very generalized because the following episodes will refine into hunting in the Big Woods a little more in each video. The next video will focus more on Food and Cover for Big Woods hunting which will be (E2) and so on. I hope to at least help new hunters get a better handle or understanding of hunting larger tracts of land and woods like we have here in Maine. If I can help a few understand just a fraction of what it takes to become a good woods hunter I will be very satisfied. Thank you so much for checking out this video and I hope the series is of some help and use to all who watch these videos. Thank You! God Bless and Good Hunting from Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

Deer Stand Evaluation Time!
Hello friends and family. I have a little informative video on Deer tree stand evaluations. I give a few pointers on what to do with a stand that has been sitting and not producing for one reason or another. Sometimes you just got to give in to reality and bite the bullet and find a different spot. Sometimes the spot may only be 20-30 feet away. Sometimes you may have to move the stand a mile away. In Maine, it all depends on cover and food for the season of October through November and into December's Muzzleloader season. It is a magical time of year and it takes a little figuring out. Good Luck to all of the hunters out there this year. God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

A Better Cell Camera Hopefully!
Hello to all! I Thank you for watching another video of mine. This video is of me setting up and trying a new cell camera. This camera is made by Spypoint and the model is the FLEX. I have a Moultrie EDGE but honestly, I am not happy with the way the camera performs. The range on the EDGE is not very good and I think when it is sleeping waiting for something to move so it will take a picture. I think it is like a teenage kid who decides it would rather sleep than make an effort and take a photo, I did not deer hunt at camp at all last year because I was relying on the EDGE to tell me if deer were visiting the food plot. The camera never sent me a photo of a deer during deer season. I figured that they were not showing up. After deer season I went to retrieve the camera and noticed the plot had been eaten to the ground with deer and moose sign in the plot yet the camera never sent me a photo. I have that camera plugged into a solar panel and it has batteries. I have never seen the camera off of 100% battery life since it has been out at camp. The best range with it is probably 40 feet. The spy point advertises that it will work out to 100 feet. I am going to give it a try. Hopefully, it works better than the Moultrie. Thank you all so much for watching and hopefully you all watch my (BIG WOODS HUNTING SECRETS) video series coming soon. God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

Trail-Cam Check and Fair Warning!
Hello to all. Thank you so much for watching another video of mine. In this video, I drive across the road from our place where I have had a camera out since April 2023. In this area, I am evaluating whether I want to move my stand from a different spot and put it in this area where this camera is at. I was very surprised at how much growth there was when I went to get the camera. The camera is a Stealth 26. I am very satisfied with the pictures that this camera takes if anybody wanted to know. This has been a good and reliable camera. I wish you all the best of luck this season. God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)

MAINE Food Plot Planting 2023
Hello to all my friends and family. Thank you so much for checking out another video of mine. Finally, the weather has come in line with me planting the food plot. We have had so much rain that I haven't been able to plant. As you all may know you want to plant the plot and put the lime and fertilizer on the ground when the ground is dry but right before a rain. I have been watching the weather for the perfect time and now is it. I was in the process of putting rear wheel arches on my truck when I saw the rain coming in the forecast. I hope to have the video on the rear wheel arches on my "Handy-Capable" channel once I can finish them. I had to throw by hand 12, 40lb bags of lime onto the food plot for a total of 480 lbs of lime in this small plot. The PH this year was 5.8 before I put down the lime. I then put one 50lb bag of 10-10-10 fertilizer down. I will need a couple more bags of that and intend to put that down in August. I used one 35 lb bag of GreenCover seed Fall Blend seed to put in the plot. According to the site, 35 lbs is good for 1/2 an acre. I am guessing I may have about 1/3 acre in the plot right now. Now I wait to see what God and Mother Nature want to do with my plot. Hopefully, they will be happy with my effort and reward the deer, Moose, Turkeys, and whatever else want to eat out there. Thank you again for watching! God Bless and Good Hunting. Maine Noth Woods Hunter (Shane)

Food Plot Preparation for Lime, Fertilizer and Seed
Hello to all. In this video, I am working on my recent size-increased food plot. I am cutting stumps down, dragging a rake to pull out roots and then I rake it by hand. Once I am finished raking I take out all the boulder piles I have created and Debree piles. After all that, it will be ready to Lime, Fertilize, and Seed next month. It sure was a lot of work in hot weather but it is all done and ready to go. Thank You so much for watching! God Bless and Good Hunting! Maine North Woods Hunter (Shane)
Also please check out my "Handy-Capable" channel for more of me doing things not related to hunting but show being disabled does not mean you can't do many different things.

2023 Camp Mineral/Food Plot Update
Hello friends and family. I am sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been busy working at camp and with all that work I end up with a lot of inflammation and pain which slows me down for a while. This video has just a small portion of what I was doing. If you want to see more about the camp please check out my "Handy-Capable" youtube channel. I have more camp working stuff on that one and more camp hunting stuff on this channel. In this video I finally have my brother come out with his tractor and help me with the food plot and the camp area. Now all I have to do is wait for my soil test results and get some lime and fertilizer and order me some food plot mix from GreenCover.com Thank you all for watching. I promise to be more consistent with the videos now that better weather is here. Thank you and God Bless and Good Hunting!
