Johan's Travel

That title sounds like it's very strange, but it's not. There are two daily trains that shuttle people from and to work, but also bring a large number of tourists to several historical sites along the infamous Death Railway in Thailand. Today we're using that train to get back home from the Tham Kra Sae area. A Beechcraft Premier 1 plane crashed into an intersection in the Shah Alam area, near Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The crashing plane skidded off the road while bursting into flames. All eight passengers and crew on board are feared dead. One motorcyclist was also killed in the crash. The ongoing civil war in Syria seems almost forgotten after it broke out over a decade ago now, pushed away by 'current events' like the Russian invasion of Ukraine. But we should not forget that the Syrian government is waging war that has lead to total destruction against rebels while ISIS tried to establish a caliphate in Raqqa years back. The Tham Krasae bridge, or Tham Kra Sae bridge, is part of the infamous death railway in Thailand and is located in the Kanchanaburi province, roughly west of Bangkok. Rambuttri Alley is not at all a hidden foodie spot, as it's just north of the world famous Khao San Road in Bangkok. Still, I have the feeling that many skip it because the food stalls are on the street. After the military coup in Niger a week ago, things seem to escalate now with Niger closing it's entire airspace as an ECOWAS ultimatum to restore democracy has lapsed. With the Niger junta in fear of military action from some of it's neighbors, dozens of flights had to divert or forced make a detour. The Tham Krasae bridge, also known as the Wang Pho Viaduct, is a historic bridge built by POW's from a number of countries in mainly Southeast Asia during the Japanese occupation of Thailand (then Siam). The number 112 Brantas passenger train from Jakarta to East Java crashed into a stalled truck at a railroad crossing in the Indonesian city of Semarang last night. It caused a huge fireball, but miraculously there were only a few light injuries.
