Do Narcissists ever really listen?
This video looks at the concept of why many narcissistic people don't seem to listen to others, even those closest to them. Through maladaptive defence mechanisms aimed at protecting a false and fragile sense of self many narcissists never seem to listen to the point where they seem to reject reality.
They often display poor listening skills, gaslight others, engage in reactive abuse and don't accept responsibility for their actions.
However there is also an other element of listening, more associated with dark personality types and dark empaths where they do listen, but not quite the the way or for the reasons you might think.

The Insidious Nature of Covert Narcissism
Covert abuse tends to be more 'under the radar' than overt abuse and manipulation. It has victims doubt their own sanity, uncertain if they are being abused and sometimes question if in fact they are being abusive.
This video outlines how covert narcissists confuse, gaslight and abuse their victims through being passive aggressive and from a position of helplessness and victimhood.

How to Handle the DARVO Method
DARVO is an acronym for Deny, Attack and Reverse Victim Offender. It is a term first coined by Psychologist Jennifer Freyd in the 1990's.
A common tactic of narcissists, it refers to a form of manipulation which is aimed at shifting the focus from any wrong doing, to avoid any consequences, and attacking the victim in ways that allows them to switch roles. So the aggressor become the victim, the victim the aggressor.
This video outlines some ideas to help manage yourself and your boundaries better when dealing with someone using the DARVO method.
