Inviting Yourself into the Timeless Moment
A journey of simplicity
https://creativethreads.net/2023/08/10/inviting-yourself-into-the-timeless-moment/
There’s something about embracing a moment that feels timeless, where your presence seems boundless. It’s quite straightforward, really.
Here is a tentative scenario: You feel an inner calling. Maybe it’s a wave of curiosity or perhaps a sense of weariness longing to wake up. Answering this call, you step outside. You have a camera with you. It could be your phone, or any other camera—it doesn’t really matter.
You begin to walk without a set destination, ideally in nature. But remember, nature isn’t just the grand vistas. It can be as simple as the grass by the road, swaying in the wind. In that moment, with the grass and the wind, the entire universe is present. It’s just you and what is.
You stroll, noticing little details: a shadow cast by the sun, a small movement on the ground. When you stop to look, it’s not just a physical pause. You’re entirely in that moment, living it, absorbing every shade, every play of light, every subtle beauty.
When you take a photo, forget about being a professional. Shoot what feels right. Whether it’s a snap from your hip or a shot with imperfect settings, what matters is that there’s nothing holding you back.
As you continue on this unguided journey, you’ll find yourself feeling more and more liberated, noticing and appreciating the simplicity around. Sometimes, the beauty lies in the smallest things, like a single blade of dry grass moving in a gentle breeze.
It’s not about chasing a moment, but letting your heart embrace it. There’s a distinct beauty in simplicity, and it’s just that—simple. It stands on its own, without the need for deep thought or interpretation.
In this journey, you’ll realize the joy in not having a reason or a set direction. This kind of flow, this kind of being, isn’t something you force. You just let it be. Even if we don’t fully understand it, we allow it to unfold.
In this delicate attention, something wonderful happens. You begin to grasp why you invited yourself into this moment.
But don’t just believe me. Invite yourself and see.

The Paradox of Free Creative Flow
Embracing Emptiness
Excerpt-
When discussions turn to free creative flow, common queries arise about its ‘how’ and ‘what’. But the profound simplicity of the answers—there is no ‘how’, no set rules, no method—often leads to them being overlooked or misunderstood. This creative state doesn’t emerge from a script or plan; it thrives in the beauty of not knowing. Anything birthed in this flow is transient, timeless. It’s about moving with the rhythm of the moment, letting pure beauty emanate from the unknown.

Unimagined Timelessness | About Exercise and Imagination | CreativeThreads.net
Unimagined Timelessness
About exercise and imagination
Amihai Loven
https://creativethreads.net/2023/08/06/unimagined-timelessness/
~
We all exercise all the time.
We exercise dullness. We exercise agility. We exercise words. We exercise space.
Exercise in the sense, becoming one with that movement, that for one reason or no reason is the movement of now.
And here is the point:
If exercise is something that is natural, it is not guided by imagination.
If you want to exercise movement, don't move by ideas, don't move by imagination, don't add any layer of any flavor to the movement. Move like a weed in the field. It moves, it exercises its movement, free of imagination, it is not aiming for anything, it is not rejecting anything, it is simply moving.
And its movement is absolute, it's free of all the vanity and anything which is not pure movement.
So what do you exercise? Complaints? Demands? Or so-called calmness? Peacefulness?
Exercise that 'Which-Is', absent of imagination. And you have to see that you cannot, you have to see that you are the function that imagine, that add this very shallow abstraction of imagination that guides your now.
To exercise the movement of now, to be one with it, not to initiate, not to imagine, is the mastership of the now, only the now can exercise the now.
Let yourself merge in the now, so that the sound of imagination becomes a joke, and in the presence of the real, which is the now, there is no demand for the joke, for the shallow, for the fictitious.
Now, this covers all sorts of exercises, physical, mental, intellectual, and most importantly, it's calling for invitation to have anything in life exercise itself in movement without imagination.
How do you know if the exercise is healthy?
It leads to clarity.
Clarity may reveal noise.
Don't expect clarity to be some serene quietness. If that's what's there, it reveals that. But if what's there is noise, imagination, demands, ideas, it reveals that. And there is beauty in that. Whatever it reveals, it reveals now, real, free of imagination.
The other thing for you to ease about:
Time is not a factor.
In this exercise, time is totally not a factor, so half a second or half a year is exactly the same.
All your habitual movement towards scaling up your exercise, or your skill, or your talent, or your whatever it is that you try to come upon, is gone.
The now swallows time. There is no time in the now. And the now is all you have.
You hear about it, you may agree to it, but do you see it?
Do you see it directly, now, without imagination?
Do you allow clarity to come and reveal what is as it is, and turn every bit of life to an exercise of unimagined timelessness?

Self Inquiry

~
You, in your life Now,
what is truly sacred in your life?
‘You, in your life now’ – That is sacred beyond conditions, beyond change.
A second from now, everything is expressed by itself. You already don’t know anything.
Now, you feel that you know, because you connected the now to the story.
The truth is that the now, which you do not know, is sacred, and no matter how hard habitually you tried, you could not change it.
All it takes for you is to question:
“Am I present now?”
That’s it.
Who is there to answer the question?
Who is asking the question?
Between the question that is asked and the answer that may come, What is this gap?
Is there that which is truly, unconditionally sacred in your life now?
You better not know.
You better ask within yourself, beyond the words,
With a flame that cannot be ended.
This is the question, the question that is sacred unconditionally.
It is asked now. As the words are put,
it is asked now.
And as you read it, it is read now.
That’s all you need to see.
And notice whether you ask it with all your heart, knowing that without it, every aspect of sacred existence in your life is vanity,
If so, you go beyond, to the unknown.
And the question walks, alerted, open, free, questioning.
Merging in the unknown, home, sacred.

A Day Without Direction
Discovering True Freedom
Amihai Loven
Aug 14, 2023
~
https://creativethreads.net/2023/08/01/a-day-without-direction/
You cannot invest in freedom as if it were an asset or something to be owned. Freedom is yours to embrace when you dedicate your life to it. But since nothing can truly take your life, what I mean by giving your life to freedom is that you reset all your typical priorities, often aligned with attachments, and focus solely on freedom. You may not know what freedom is, and that’s where you begin. But you also shouldn’t want to know what freedom is, because if you claim to know it, you stand apart from it as a mere observer.
You might question if freedom is essentially what you are. Words quickly lose their strength and ambition to describe or accurately define this for then it ends as a concept. What remains is the opportunity to live your day in freedom, something only freedom itself can realize. You alone cannot. Consider your life and how many years you have tried.
The dots connect when freedom is allowed for one day to live on its own. One day seems long enough, yet not too lengthy, to put yourself to the test. The same principle applies to a single moment, but it’s easier to deceive yourself in a fleeting moment than to surrender an entire day to freedom, allowing it to manifest in your life.
What would a day lived as freedom, by freedom, look like? Certainly, it wouldn’t be a planned day or a frantic race toward another day or goal. Everything converges into a free flow, but even the words “free flow” lose meaning in themselves.
We might look at this from another angle: how your day, today, is lived. Is it lived free from everything you’ve placed there to direct, control, or influence your path? Freedom follows no direction. Can you be free from direction, even for one day? This connects to the previous piece about being lost in freedom.
To me, nothing is more urgent, tangible, beautiful, or demanding than living a single day without direction. The immense beauty that emerges cannot be put into words, as it resonates in every aspect of life, every event, every momentary encounter. When you allow your day to unfold without direction, it’s as if everything is open, and serendipity, or joy if you prefer, is the only “rule”.
No one knows where serendipity comes from or when it will leave. If you dislike these words, don’t use any at all. Connect with what is undirected in your day and determine if these are mere empty words or an attempt to highlight something that already exists, ripe and ready to be picked without demand.
Choose that fruit if you want; it’s there for you.

Inquiry - 'What is Real?' | CreativeThreads.net
The Illusion of Layers
Seeking the Real
~
https://creativethreads.net/2023/07/29/the-illusion-of-layers/
What is real?
This may be a question of great importance, possibly even a precursor to any other question we might ask. This notion is suggested within the context of life’s energy flow. There are numerous actions, words, thoughts, and feelings that can distort this flow. Thus, the question “What is real?” might be deeply intertwined with understanding life’s energy and its correct flow.
So, what is real? It might be simpler to identify the unreal first.
Thinking, for instance, is real, but the thoughts themselves are not. Imagination is real, but the images it creates are not. Words are real, but their meanings are not. You are real, but your image isn’t. Could it be that the real is the essence that exists before we try to describe it?
If we are deeply aware of the unreal, how then do we recognize the real? The real has no identity, shape, name, definition, or description. It’s life as it happens now, devoid of any layers we might add. And yet, it’s complicated by the fact that we ourselves are part of these layers. “You” cannot exist without these layers; as long as there is “Your” life, there is layering.
Consider a woman who lived 14,000 years ago. Can you remember her name, her form, her thoughts, her feelings? They were probably no less sincere than yours, no less significant to her than yours are to you. Could you place yourself in a time of such insignificance? It’s possible that you can, and that this is an invitation to look at yourself in this way – as a forgotten memory, a veil over what you truly are.
Now is merely a fleeting moment. You exist in it, but it holds no more significance than a flash of memory.
After reading this, what remains with you? Only a question: What is real?
Hold onto this question, use it. Observe, admit the truth fearlessly, without justification. In doing so, the concept of life’s energy flow might transform into something not theoretical or abstract, but profoundly real.
So, what is real? Reflect on this.

Self-Inquiry
Exploring the Profound Question of Thought
AMIHAI LOVEN
JUL 27, 2023
https://creativethreads.net/2023/07/27/self-inquiry/
How is it that so rarely thought asks to know its true nature?
How is it that thought so seldom seeks to understand its true nature? Constantly, without exception, thought seeks to think, to continue generating material, to process it, come up with additions, modify it, delve deeper into it, but all using the tools of thought and all painted in the hues of cognition.
Why is it that thought so infrequently questions anything? By questioning, I mean seeking the essence, to truly perceive, to encounter what truly is.
Why is it so infrequent and even more so, why is it so rare that thought seeks to perceive its own nature clearly? It's as if by seeing that, it might vanish, and by avoiding it, its performance continues.
You're hearing this question now because someone else's thinking was orbiting around it. But how do you greet these words, which are thoughts delivered to you and intersect with your own thinking?
Do you strive to comprehend them as if it were possible to truly understand words? Do you seek meaning, depth, or even essence within the words? If you do, that is the process of thought, endeavoring to draw conclusions, striving to interpret layers of information, and so forth.
Or perhaps, as you hear these words, read them and let them resonate within you, there exists a genuine interest to look beyond the words, to discern if there's substance, a foundation, a beginning, and source for what is being said and for the words being used.
To clarify even further, it’s as if you're viewing a painting and your sole interest is to become familiar with the ink, regardless of the lines it created, the dots, the shapes, or the magnificent drawing.
In this analogy, ink—the material—is compared to thought as a material. What is the substance of thought? What is thought composed of? You've heard people discuss it, some of whom you consider wise and even trust, but with which ears did you listen? With the ears of thought that agree and disagree, that process and assimilate, that retain it as knowledge?
This is the challenge for thought, now, to observe itself, not its appearance, to seek its essence, not its reason, to transcend by producing a different kind of movement—the movement of absolute questioning.
Absolute questioning cannot be fabricated by words. Words might exist there, but the essence of the question is the absence of any knowledge, any words, any symbols, any projection of ideas, anything at all. This is the question.
What's the role of thought if not to ask the ultimate question that can engulf all that is made by thought and reveal to thought—the act of thinking—the nature of itself?
The challenge, as always, is for you, not someone else, to look at it now and question ceaselessly.

What Brings an End to Words?
Unveiling the Silent Beauty Within
~
https://creativethreads.net/2023/07/24/what-brings-an-end-to-words/
I have a question for you that may prompt, within your mind, an understanding of the true nature of infinity. This is not a theoretical question; it’s a practical one. The question is: what can eliminate the presence of words in this very moment? Here, by words, I refer to the activity of the mind that touches, defines, sets, questions, and understands. What can instantly put a halt to this activity of words in the present moment?
You may naturally presume that if such a possibility exists, it stems from an external source. This could be a person, a god, an intervention, or wisdom gleaned from a book. You might also believe in a certain internal power that you possess, which could accomplish this task. However, this question demands to be considered without such assumptions.
Thus, when it is asked, “What can put an end?” — the ‘What’ in itself becomes the query. What does it imply? Does it signify the ‘who’, the quality, the habit, skill, gift, grace, knowledge, circumstances? When you hear the question, “What can end all the activity of words in this present moment?”, the first word of the question is ‘What’. And you are advised not to assume anything about this ‘What’, including what it could potentially imply or represent. It may well represent nothing at all. So, don’t dismiss this possibility.
Now, as you proceed with the question, what can bring an end? The reality is that words are all you know. They are the only things that you associate with your identity, your needs, desires, complaints, issues, beliefs, and hopes — all words. This activity is occurring right now. Therefore, the scope of this question, “What can halt this activity of words?” is absolute. It is equivalent to asking “What can cease everything that you know?” because everything that you know is constructed, embellished, and woven together through this dance of words.
The last part of the question is vital: “At this present moment”. It’s not about stopping forever or until a point you can endure. The only thing you need to ask is, at this present moment, where words are the only things you know, “What can bring an end to the activity of words?”
No one knows the answer to that question. It is a true question because if asked plainly and directly, without any attempt to morph it into something else, it forces you to confront the reality of not knowing. You begin with the understanding that the only thing you know is words. You expand your understanding by observing, not by listening to words spoken to you, and realizing there is no answer you can formulate.
This may suggest that the one asking this question is the activity of words itself. The cessation of this activity signifies the end of the questioning function. It has been said that a true question does not yield an answer; instead, it dissolves into the unknown, allowing the true meaning to emerge.
A genuine question does not prompt a flurry of words. It challenges the mind to acknowledge the fine line of not knowing, and somehow, through what I might call miraculous power (though not in a mystical sense), to remain in that state, to feel comfortable with it, to see the beauty in it.
And that’s the only answer: ‘Beauty’. Not a beauty constructed by words or measured by standards, but a beauty that exists here and now. At this moment, the only thing that can halt the activity of words is beauty. The nature of this beauty is as unknown as the absolute unknown. It’s the same thing.
Until this beauty gently and tenderly begins to manifest in the present moment, everything else is merely a flurry of words. Going beyond this activity of words is the most profound and significant essence of life for a human being.
