Women protestors took their hijabs off to protest the mandatory veiling law in the country. In multiple videos that are going viral on social media showed protesters were seen shouting anti-government slogan. The latest incident has once again brought to focus Iran's discriminatory dress code.

The House approved bipartisan legislation Wednesday to clarify how presidential Electoral College votes are tallied and challenged, aiming to prevent confusion and a repeat of the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021. The vote was 229-203, largely along party lines. Republicans largely opposed the bill as an attack on former President Donald Trump rather than a way to fix problems with the 1887 Electoral Count Act. The House bill from Reps. Zoe Lofgren, D-Calif., and Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., must still be reconciled with the Senate version, which hasn’t been voted on yet. "If your aim is to prevent future efforts to steal elections, I would respectfully suggest that conservatives should support this bill," Cheney said. "If instead your aim is to leave open the door for elections to be stolen in the future, you might decide not to support this or any other bill to address the Electoral Count Act."

New York Attorney General Letitia James on Tuesday accused former President Donald Trump of massive fraud in a civil lawsuit following a three year inquiry into the finances of the family business. James said Trump "falsely inflated his wealth by billions of dollars" to enrich himself and his family. If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” James' investigation was launched more than three years ago after former Trump attorney Michael Cohen told federal lawmakers that the former president regularly inflated the value of his properties and net worth to get better insurance and loan rates. In May, the attorney general signaled the inquiry was nearing an end and that investigators had amassed substantial evidence that could support legal action, such as a lawsuit, against Trump, his company or both.

Launching into his impassioned 30-minute speech at the United Nations Wednesday, President Joe Biden accused Russia of having "shamelessly violated" a core tenet of the U.N. charter prohibiting the taking of another country by force. Everything the U.N. stands for is at risk if Russia can take another nation by force, Biden told the annual gathering of world leaders as Russia takes steps to rebuild its military. "Wherever you are, wherever you live, whatever you believe," Biden said, "that should make your blood run cold." Speaking days after he angered China by once again promising to come to Taiwan's aid if China attacks the self-governing island, Biden said the United States continues "to oppose unilateral changes in the status quo by either side." Biden’s international stature has been enhanced since his inaugural United Nations address last year, delivered soon after the U.S.’s chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan.
