Living Room to Video Studio - Part 1 - The Plan
This is the first part of a series in which I convert my living room into a studio, to recording vlogs, interviews, and discussion panel videos. I talk about why I'm doing this, the design, and I show before shots of how the living looks now, before I get started. If you'd like to find out more about this and other projects, then visit the Wight Vision community group website, at https://wight.vision website.

What's the Big Idea? - Self-Governance, Ethical Labels, Start-Up Hubs
What's the Big Idea? is a video about big ideas. We present three big, potentially world changing ideas, to inspire thought and stimulate discussion. Are these ideas viable? Would they make the world a better place? Could we make them happen? The first idea is about self-governance - replacing politicians and governments with a noticeboard style website, that allows the citizens of a nation, and of a county within that nation, to propose ideas, and to vote for those ideas, and make decisions autonomously. The Second idea is about an ethical labelling system for product packaging, that allows consumers to see at a glance how ethical that product, and the company that produces it, is. The Third idea, is about kick starting failing economies, by creating business start-up hubs that entrepreneurs can access, for very little or no cost, to help them get their project off the ground.
If any of these ideas resonate with you, and you'd like to discuss them, or help to make them happen, then please either forward this video on to a friend or colleague, leave a comment below, or get in touch via our website, at https://wight.vision.
00:00 - Introduction (Summarising the three ideas).
01:42 - Self-Governance (first idea).
06:29 - Ethical Labelling System (second idea).
10:08 - Affordable Start-Up Hubs (third idea).

The Great Recycling Mystery
On Wednesday the 2nd March 2022 I contacted the Isle of Wight Council, and explained that I was making a video about the Island’s recycling operation, to combat rumours that all our recycled waste was being dumped into landfill sites, along with our general household waste. This video documents what happened next. A transcript of the emails that were exchanged can be downloaded here - https://wight.vision/wp-content/uploads/recycling-email-transcript.pdf.
If you work in, or know anything about the Island’s recycling operation, then please get in touch to anonymously share that information. You can get in touch via the contact form on our website, at https://wight.vision/contact, or via our more secure email account, at wightvision@protonmail.com.

An Island Musician - Luke Guy Reed
On Monday 28th April we interviewed Isle of Wight country singer-song writer Luke Guy Reed, in a little recording studio at the bottom of his garden. We chat about his musical beginnings, and he sings two songs for us, one that he wrote himself and performs unplugged, and a Waylon Jenning's cover, that he performs over a backing track. Thanks Luke, it was great to meet you, chat to you, and hear to your music.
Luke's website can be found at https://lukeguyreed.com
Luke's facebook page can be found at https://www.facebook.com/lukeguyreed
If anyone who watches this video is a musician, or knows a musician, who would like to do an interview and perform one of their songs on camera, then we'd love to hear from you. You can get in touch via our website at https://wight.vision/contact.

The Demonstration that Never Was
On the 19th February a demonstration was organised in St Thomas’ Square in Newport on the Isle of Wight. We thought this was newsworthy, so we went along to film it and interview some of the demonstrators. But the day didn’t unfold quite as we expected.
