Episode 1 - The Problem
Beneath the hype generated by a sport trying to reinvent itself all at once, the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup season was also defined by a sudden lack of competitive, fully-funded teams. In this episode, we take a look at the events that led to this, and similar instances from NASCAR’s past.

No one quite knew what to expect when Bobby Ginn, a real estate developer from South Carolina, purchased 80% of MB2 Motorsports, rebranding the two-car team as Ginn Racing. Some of NASCAR’s biggest names took notice, as did several up-and-comers, lured by big-money contracts. But hardly had the ink dried when the team’s funding began to disappear. In the space of just a few months, Ginn Racing would collapse, costing more than 100 people their jobs. It was a financial disaster that sent ripples through the sport still felt to this day.
Video narrated by myself and S1apSh0es.

TEASER - "The Beginning of the End"
On July 24, 2007 - thirteen years ago today - news broke that Ginn Racing, one of the top multi-car teams in NASCAR's Nextel Cup Series, had merged with Dale Earnhardt, Inc. The merger shut down three Cup Series teams overnight, ultimately ending the careers of two veteran drivers and delaying those of two newcomers. How did this happen?
In my next video, "The Beginning of the End," S1apSh0es and myself will chronicle the sequence of events that led to this moment, and how its effects have shaped what NASCAR is today. The video is written and produced by myself, and is narrated by both of us.
To watch the video before it premieres on my channel, be sure to join the $5 level of S1apSh0es' Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/S1apSh0es
As with my previous videos, I will then host a YouTube premiere on my channel, at which point the video will be publicly available.

Adam Petty. Kenny Irwin, Jr. Tony Roper.
In the lead-up to the 2000 NASCAR season, each was looking to take the next step in their career. No one knew all three would lose their lives in separate racing accidents just five months apart. They were three warnings of a serious safety issue within the sport that, unheeded, culminated with a tragedy even more unthinkable. This is that story.
UPDATE (December 2, 2019): Thank you to everyone who participated in our Three Before February Charity Auction! Because of you, we raised a combined $100 for Victory Junction, The Kenny Irwin, Jr. Foundation, and the Tony Roper Scholarship Fund!
