A rare look inside the world of flipping classic cars
Today's story is all about legendary, American cars and the enthusiasts who love them. Even all the way out in Switzerland!
For this episode I’m heading out to Orange County, California.
I’m excited to meet with Alex, owner of California Cars, who specializes in finding these vintage classics for the Swiss market.
But - he has a big problem: Only very few classic cars qualify - and they are very difficult to find. What’s the challenge?
The cars must have kept its original, unmodified parts. Or they are not street legal in Switzerland!

Inside Real Cowboy Culture
In this episode, I travel to Snowflake, Arizona. I meet with Travis, fifth generation rancher. I want to find out what can we city dwellers learn from him. What does it take to live off the land, to work with 1000-pound animals, to be out every day in the heat and the cold? I’m excited to take you with me for a look inside the American cowboy culture. Enjoy.

ET Surf, USA: What the heck makes this place so successful?
You don’t want to miss this one! More and more, locally run stores are being pushed out by big companies. But ET Surf is successfully fighting back. The popular surf, skate and snowboard shop in Hermosa Beach has been around for more than five decades. And in this story, I’m gonna reveal the secret behind its success.
Run, paddle, chug: the craziest race you’ve ever seen | Hermosa Beach Ironman
For almost 50 years, Hermosa Beach has been celebrating the morning of July 4th by transforming this calm pacific town, south of LA, into the site of a gnarly Ironman unlike any other. This is a story about a thrilling tradition of sprinting, paddling, and beer-chugging.
The Hermosa Ironman kicks of with a one mile run down the beach, competitors then grab their surfboards and complete a one mile paddle, and finally they return to beach and drink six beers. Throw up and you’re disqualified!
While drinking alcohol on LA’s beaches is illegal, yellow tape marks a 50 square yards area where the law does not apply.

Daniel Paez: shaping cutting-edge surfboards 300 miles away from the nearest beach
René visits Daniel Paez, founder of Force Line Surfboards International.
Daniel grew up in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), bought his first surfboard with his own money when he was 8 years old. Then surfed competitively and worked as a shaper for many well-known brands. Among others also for Sharp Eye Surfboards in San Diego, USA. However, 28 years ago, he decided to move to Switzerland. Of course we wanted to find out what on earth drew him away from these dream surf destinations to Switzerland, a country without any ocean or sea.
And how does he make a living as a shaper, in a country with mountains and snow, instead of swells and reefs?
