My old Yamaha Kodiak is out of commission and my dad doesn't need his Polaris this winter so I'm borrowing it to plow my driveway. This is the 1st real snow that was worth plowing so I give it a go. Well I managed to get one crash in this season on my new Hawk 250 Dual sport dirt bike. It took it like a champ though with only a few scuffs and a bent shifter that I wanted to replace anyway. I've done a lot of loud stuff in the past 4 decades and well it caught up with me. I've got tinnitus (ringing in your ears) and there's no treatment for it. Took the Hawk 250 Enduro out for some Dual Sport riding today. Hit up a Class VI road and it hit me back. I've seen motorcycle riders and MotoVloggers mount their action cameras in all sorts of different configurations. I like mine on a chin mount but I wasn't sure if I should switch to mounting the camera upside down so I gave it a try. It was a REALLY nice day here in Northern NH so I took the Hawk 250 out for some Dual Sport riding, lots of backroad and trail riding. After much debate with myself I ordered this Steel Motorcycle carrier to try out. Even though my Hawk 250 is street registered I'd like the ability to transport it without having to hook up my utility trailer. Looks like this is gonna work perfectly! Didn't take me too long to assemble it and the Jeep handled it pretty well. You can use this for various Dirt Bikes, Scooters, and Motorcycles. FINALLY got around to adjusting my valves after changing out my head gasket on the new Hawk 250. This is super important for any motorcycle but especially on these Chinese machines. The process will be the same on a number of bikes using this engine such as the TBR7, Hawk DLX, or Vitacci Raven. The valves almost always come way too tight causing hard starts and possible running issues and even damage. So as part of your setup, adjust those valves and then make it part of your maintenance intervals. This is a pretty easy job on these CG style engines, so follow along and don't be scared of her. In this video I get to actually tearing the head off and getting to the head gasket. I'll also show you a comparison of the new thinner TT250 gasket I'm using and then we put it all back together. In this video I take you through the process of flushing out the factory brake fluid that comes in these Chinese Dirt Bikes such as the Hawk 250, TaoTao TBR7, Vitacci Raven, TT250, and more. I replaced mine with some quality DOT4 Fluid. Some say the fluid that comes in these are fine but this is so cheap and easy to do, why chance it. I instantly could get a better feel on the front brake lever with the new fluid. This process works on any motorcycle, but if you have a Hawk 250 or other China bike, this would be a great way to ensure the best performance and safe operation of your machine.
