Just because you have a platform & an audience. Doesn't mean you should comment or have an opinion on everything. For example. Here lately, I've been getting suggestions to dive into college life, relationships arenas. I don't have the authority to speak on those topics, they ain't my lane loves. I quickly point this out, that it's not my place to say anything. (Is it b/c I have a baby face? I've been seeing a lot of angel numbers & signs lately. If something isn't my lane & it's suggested to me, I'll just say it. I'm not going to pretend to be something I'm not, what you see is what you get, flaws & all)Look here's the thing. I'm painfully self-aware. This is what helped my Youtube grow, is scratching beneath the surface to figure out my whys & where my strengths lie. (I think my spiritual guides & ancestors are playing a cruel trick, bc there's no way I would touch college life & relationship subjects on any of my platforms with a 500 foot pole. Whyy loves. Now maybe I'll look into college sports ONLY in the future, but even with that, I'm just a casual sports fan learning. I just show up to the games, be supportive & shut up. & leave my opinion out of it, I'm not out there playing. Who am I to judge & what do I know? They don't need my advice, they got this. That's why they hire a coach. They don't need my 2 cents from the sidelines. It's like being a back seat rider, & you not driving. Don't share your opinion unless it's asked...Know your lane(s) Now, things that are my lane: Food, animals, being childfree, video games, how to not be jealous of others; Traveling solo, fitness, martial arts (I took two styles growing up, & want to take on #3 when my surgeries are over), taking bricks & turning them into successes just to name a few. You can have more than 1 lane, you just have to find out which ones are yours & which ones aren't yours. If you do the work, & scratch beneath the surface, the truths will be revealed to you. (Sometimes some hard truths are revealed to you, it's nothing to be ashamed of, it's a part of who you are).

I'm terrible at following the crowd. I'm terrible at being the favorite. My dears, I'm not afraid of being alone. I'm more afraid of being in a room with people I can't trust. After being in rooms full of people I couldn't trust for many years, the road less traveled ain't so bad. I'm thriving in it. Losing others support is ok, losing myself in the matrix is not. If I don't know something, I will tell you. Stand up for something or fall for anything. I talk about some hard things on YouTube and it's not for everyone. I rather be someone's Saltwater Woody than everyone's cup of tea. If I resonate I love to have you, but if not that's fine, there's other content creators that's better suited for you. (Everyone can't take what I write and say and that's ok, there's other kitchens.) I've been seeing angel numbers everytime I upload a YouTube video or when going about my day these past few years. I'm not perfect, but my intentions are genuine. I pick my battles. But I just keep it for real. I do not gossip or talk about others behind their back. I don't mind if someone else is more successful than me. I can want it for you before it comes to me. Here's another secret: Move in genuine intentions, the universe will award you. Pick your battles wisely. Every once in a while, switch your style up. I did that and noticed some videos started getting views. If it seems like my YouTube just popped off, remember it took a long time. When you have genuine intentions, it will look like to others things are happening to you without trying. (Theres a lot of things behind the scenes and skills that I learned that I don't talk about, but move in genuine intentions.) I finally got through all the messages (thank goodness, for the love of all things please call me Alesha or my artist name, or my fitness name Hungry Hermit. Leave out saint, god, YouTube God, red sea parter and all that. Folks I can't walk on water. No more y'all.... . You don't need me or these reels for YouTube or any social media, I'm making them so you don't have to text me next time, just watch these. Lol. )

I watched a lot of my peeps pass away these past couple of years, & I fell off badly because of it. Watching the coffin close on the people you love can mess you up forever. After watching it happen over & over & over again, I'm not the same Alesha. But it also scared me enough to say hey. Do this while you can. To make the stakes even higher. My medical issues started in my 20s. I REALLY got to make my time count. 2). I also scratched beneath the surface to figure out my role in this life.I've been wondering why it was harder for me to access help at so many different periods of my life. I've been overthinking it. The answer was staring me blank in the face this whole time. Not only is it terrifying for me to ask because I've had a lot of bad experiences with it, I'm also the strong friend. I don't want you to feel the pain. I'll only reach out & rant if it gets bad. I never reveal secrets, so if you vent to me tons of times I won't complain. (With anything trust takes time to nurture, so put me through any trust obstacles you want. After being burned a lot I understand making people earn your trust. Be choosy, don't cast your pearls before the swine). That's my role. Some YourTango articles hit the spot. I went for it instead of trying to fit in the cliques or be liked. I decided a long time ago it's ok to be disliked, misunderstood, talked about like a dog and be lied on. I had a lot of periods where I distanced myself from people. (And after some of those messages I may do it starting today, WTF I'm no Youtube god. Omg people please, I wouldn't make a great lay person bc I don't trust religion) I am, however, someone who takes the road less traveled, watched a lot of people in my life pass away (this will be in another reel, tomorrow isn't promised), watched other people in school for years be way more successful and have it easier. I didn't complain or get jealous because I'm not the jealous type. I do keep a lot to myself, bc reaching out & asking for help too many times have lead to bad things, being made fun of, unnecessary grief and judgements. As a result, I figured out YouTube and many things in life on my own. I have developed a list of business skills that I don't talk about, if it's meant for you to find out you will. I just think we need to extend each other some grace. Even if you don't understand why someone is taking a certain road, doesn't mean it's bad. It's not always for you to understand. You live your life and let others live theirs. So favor, if you ever have a friend that tells you they want to create a iguana farm in Indonesia. Or wants to start a food truck? Or does something different than the society norms? Instead of calling them weird, delusional, strange? Keep your opinions and judgements to yourself. I have so many Youtubers with such unique niches that you would think no way, there's no way they are successful doing that, but they are. Yall, they got bigger followings than I do. But they also showed me what's possible. Once you are exposed to that, there's no going back, gloves are off. It's sometimes a matter of diving in, not knowing how the dots are going to connect. And having blind faith, believing in something and success that hasn't happened yet.

However there isn't enough ride or dies, or day 1 folks. Everyone wants to hop on the bandwagon day 400 and acted like they supported you the whole time, when they really didn't. This tough love from your girl might sound harsh, but I'm being for real with you. This same enthusiasm and energy needs to be a thing when a creative don't book the part, doesn't have a great day in business, even with a Youtuber who's starting out. This creative life ain't easy and it's not for everyone. There needs to be cheering during the bad and ugly days too. Not just when you think there is something in it for you. Not just for the good days. It's not always pretty. There's not enough genuine energy or intentions out here. Some of you went to school with me, you're not stupid. For a number of you, I'm the girl you took Tequila shots with? You were given the same life script I was. Go to school, graduate, get married, yadda. If you are following that and it makes you happy, great!!!! Or maybe you found out what I did. Listening to all that is not going to get me where I need to be. Listening to all that advice growing up made me the unhappiest I've ever been. I cut out my schools, my religion, my car I had at the time, everything. I rebelled. I do not mind being talked about by peers, mom friends or anyone, because living up to others expectations caused more harm to me than I care to admit. I'm very good at shutting out the excess noise. I took to heart the 5 regrets of the dying and ran with it. When you go for it, you have to get used to being disliked by your peers. I will tell you I've been on the receiving end of nasty gossip throughout the years, because I didnt-don't want the same things my peers want. Then people you care about actually listen to that nonsense, and you have to cut them all out because they don't understand what you're trying to do. Nobody wants to be there at the beginning of your journey, but everyone wants a piece when you make a breakthrough. This is a huge secret: Creatives: Don't listen to limiting beliefs, and get used to being disliked and misunderstood. Non-creatives: Stop putting your negative beliefs on people because they are doing something or living a life you don't understand. Going silent is not support, & on some level you want to see them fail because they are going for their dream. I didn't listen to anyone who messaged me from my past telling me that "you can't" do it. And now the messages are hella different. 722 messages are ridiculous, especially bc I've been off your radar this whole time. Here's the thing, you do not need me or my 'reels' or advice. You could figure out Youtube or anything on your own just fine. Don't kiss my butt, or pretend I'm some famous person lol. I'm not a guru or sage. I've been called the nicest things since my "breakthrough". I'm the same Alesha you've always known. I just had the guts to go for it. I'm very chill. Instead of being sorry for words that you actually meant to say to me. Find someone who is a creative, artist, musician, entrepreneur, etc & back them. Leave your opinion out of it. Instead of supporting a celebrity you don't know, pick a local, a black business, poc business, someone you know trying to do something. If you like their product, BUY it. Instead of telling your actor friend that their job isn't legitimate, share their projects everytime they get booked (& they don't even have to know you are doing it). Bc if & WHEN that person becomes successful on some level, eating your words & having the mirror reflected back on you ain't so pretty. Just bc you can't see yourself making money with a creative venture, doesn't mean it applies to someone else. Be better than this & keep your opinions to yourself.
