2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge Pure Electric - Design
Overview
Among the already fashionable lineup of Volvo SUVs, the even more chic 2022 XC40 is a hip and youthful one. The entry-level model is powered by a 184-hp turbocharged four-cylinder that wears the T4 badge, but the spunkiest version is the T5, which offers 248 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive. The XC40 brings with it plenty of tech, too, including available driver assists that are borrowed from higher-end Volvo models, including the Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driving mode. Still, the XC40 isn't all flash. Its cabin is thoughtfully designed with clever storage opportunities, and its cargo area is generously sized. Plus, when compared to German rivals such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA-class, the Volvo's higher seating position will appeal to SUV enthusiasts. If you're looking for an electrified SUV with similar traits, Volvo also offers the XC40 Recharge, which we review separately.
What's New for 2022?
Volvo's smallest SUV receives few changes for 2022. The XC40 no longer offers a power-operated liftgate, front fog lamps, or rear child locks as standard equipment. The mid-range R-Design and upscale Inscription models gain a wireless smartphone charging feature, though, and, for buyers who want it, they can pay extra for the power liftgate as a standalone option on all models.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
T4 Momentum $36,195
T5 Momentum $37,195
T4 R-Design $41,445
T4 Inscription $41,945
T5 R-Design $42,445
T5 Inscription $42,945
We'd select the T5 R-Design model, not solely for the seasonal security of all-wheel drive, but also for the more powerful 248-hp engine. The T5 R-Design comes standard with navigation, a panoramic roof, and a sporty appearance. We'd add the Climate package, which provides heating for the rear seats, steering wheel, and headlamp washers, as well as the Advanced package, which brings adaptive cruise control with a semi-autonomous mode, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a 12-volt outlet in the cargo area.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Under the hood of every XC40 is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making either 184 or 248 horsepower (called T4 and T5, respectively). The more powerful T5, which pairs exclusively with all-wheel drive, helped our Momentum test vehicle scoot to 60 mph in a reasonably brisk 6.2 seconds. The eight-speed automatic transmission handles gearchanges without delay and transmits no harshness to the cabin while doing so. Our sole complaint is the coarse sound the engine emits under heavy throttle. When cruising, the powertrain is quiet and refined. The XC40's towing capacity—a rarity among subcompact-luxury crossovers—is a stout 3500 pounds.

2022 Nissan Rogue Walkaround
Overview
While its name may make you think of bad-boy shenanigans, the 2022 Nissan Rogue is an average compact crossover with no such attitude. The Rogue is handsomely styled but it's no athlete, and lacks the fun-to-drive character of the Mazda CX-5 or the Volkswagen Tiguan. Practicality and value are the Rogue's strong points, with a spacious cabin, generous cargo room, and a host of standard and optional niceties that SUV buyers crave, including several high-tech infotainment and driver-assistance items. Like the Rogue but need a third row of seats? The mechanically similar Mitsubishi Outlander delivers much the same experience with room for two more passengers.
What's New for 2022?
The Rogue's lethargic 2.5-liter four-cylinder has been replaced for 2022 with a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that makes 201 horsepower. The Rogue's CVT transmission has also been revised and is said to aid acceleration and fuel economy.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
S $27,875
SV $29,565
SL $34,225
Platinum $37,655
The mid-level SV model offers the best mix of features for the money. It adds niceties such as 18-inch aluminum wheels, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a 360-degree exterior camera system, and Nissan's ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving mode. We'd spring for the SV Premium package too, which adds a panoramic sunroof, a power-operated rear liftgate, roof rails, and faux-leather upholstery.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
For 2022, the Rogue's 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder has been phased out in favor of a smaller but more powerful turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder that makes 201 horsepower. Like the previous-year model, the Rogue comes standard with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive is optional. We criticized last year's Rogue for its lackadaisical acceleration but during our brief test drive of the new turbo three, the compact crossover felt perkier. When we get a chance to take the Rogue with the new engine to our test track, we'll update this story with test results.

2022 MITSUBISHI XPANDER
The facelifted Mitsubishi Xpander will be making its debut in Thailand soon, a few months after the refreshed MPV was shown at the 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). According to Headlightmag, the Xpander will be launched sometime in March.
Revisions made to the popular MPV include a brand new Dynamic Shield front face with redesigned LED position lamps, nicer T-shaped headlights (LED for more expensive variants), reprofiled tailgate with new LED combination lights, as well as a new rear bumper. Top models sit on 17-inch machined two-tone alloys.
If the car looks more proportionate in photos, well, that’s because Mitsubishi tweaked its profile. The front overhang has grown by 75 mm, while the rear is lengthened by 45 mm. It’s taller by up to 20 mm as well, raising ground clearance to 225 mm – the highest in its class.
In terms of chassis, the Xpander gets uprated front strut mounting, while the rear dampers are equipped with larger cylinders. New high-performance damper valves are used at all four corners, improving ride quality.
The seven-seater will continue to be powered by the 4A91 1.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, developing 105 PS and 141 Nm of torque. This time, a CVT replaces the four-speed auto, which the automaker claims to improve fuel efficiency and off-the-line performance. The engine also benefits from an external exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system, further improving fuel consumption.
Additional features include electronic parking brake with auto brake hold function, an eight-inch touchscreen display (current Malaysian models get nine-inch units), single-zone automatic climate control system with digital display, and a new steering wheel design with a more modern centre boss.
The centre console is redesigned to accommodate a larger open tray, while selected trim levels with the armrest can house up to four 600 ml drink bottles. Further conveniences are added to the rear seats, with USB Type A as well as Type C outlets located in the back.
In Indonesia, the Xpander can be had in six exterior colours – Quartz Metallic Pearl, Graphite Grey Metallic, Jet Black Mica, Red Metallic, Deep Bronze Metallic, and the new Blade Silver Metallic. Will this be the year Malaysians get the updated Xpander as well?

2022 BUGATTI Chiron Super Sport
Overview
The 2022 Chiron isn't only the ultimate Bugatti, it's the ultimate car. Period. This $3 million work of art is capable of pummeling the pavement at over 200 mph thanks to a 16-cylinder engine that features four turbochargers and cranks out at least 1500 horsepower—the more expensive Super Sport model is even more powerful. The Chiron's cabin is just as artfully designed as its exterior, and it coddles occupants in fine materials that help justify its price tag. But let's be honest, people are really paying for the performance here. Those looking for modern conveniences (think Apple CarPlay) or driver-assistance tech, they won't find them here, but after driving this monster, they likely won't care about such minor drawbacks.
What's New for 2022?
Bugatti's Chiron hypercar hasn't changed for 2022, but the way the company will lets people order one has. Through a new customization program called Sur Mesure, shoppers can spec their Chiron with a seemingly endless array of choices. Special paint, exterior trims, interior embellishments, racing stripes, logos—just name it—can be added on a whim.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Chiron $3,300,000
Chiron Pur Sport $3,600,000
Chiron Super Sport $3,900,000
People who choose cars such as the Chiron do so because they want a vehicle that makes a jaw-dropping impact on the boulevard or at the valet stand—or in front of the Monte Carlo Casino. With its swooping lines and famously stratospheric price, the base Chiron certainly fits the bill. We think this model has what it takes to put a smile on the face of even the most discerning hypercar buyer. The Chiron comes standard with amenities such as quad LED headlights and full power accessories.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
All Chiron models are motivated by an 8.0-liter 16-cylinder powerplant. This beast of an engine employs four turbochargers to generate a mighty 1500 horsepower and 1180 pound-feet of torque. Bugatti claims that the Chiron makes the dash from zero to 60 mph in a mere 2.3 seconds, and it has a top speed of 261 mph. If the Chiron's standard engine doesn't quench your thirst for speed, step up to the Chiron Super Sport 300+. This model is equipped with a slightly more potent version of the base powerplant, and it produces 1578 horsepower. Piloted by factory test driver Andy Wallace, a model with specs almost identical to those of the Chiron Super Sport 300+ logged a record-setting 304.773 mph test-track run. With every model in the Chiron lineup, power is sent to all four wheels by a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

2022 Toyota Tundra Frame
Domestic automakers have a monopoly on the full-size pickup truck segment, but the 2022 Toyota Tundra appeals to a slightly different audience, particularly those loyal to Toyota. Most half-ton pickups have a sturdy, albeit antiquated, leaf-spring rear suspension. The Tundra features coil springs out back that make it ride and drive much better than most. Plus, it can still tow up to 12,000 pounds and comes standard with a suite of driver assists. Unlike its domestic rivals, the Tundra isn't available with a V-8. Gasp! The lone engine option is a twin-turbo V-6, but it's available with a hybrid system that's good for 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. With a cabin that's considerably prettier than its predecessor and an infotainment system that offers a 14.0-inch touchscreen, there are numerous reasons the 2022 Tundra has the goods to take on the Americans.
Toyota gives the Tundra a much-needed, total redesign after the previous generation went largely unchanged since its debut in 2007. Although it was refreshed for the 2014 model year, it struggled to steal sales from domestic half-ton rivals such as the Ford F-150, the Ram 1500, the Chevy Silverado 1500, and the GMC Sierra 1500. The new Tundra still isn't expected to outsell any of those alternatives, but its myriad improvements should make it much more competitive and desirable when it reaches dealerships this winter.

2022 Lexus ES
Overview
Luxury means different things to different people, and the 2022 Lexus ES delivers a quiet, comfortable form of luxury that's appealing to many. Although in theory it competes against premium sports sedans such as the Audi A6 and the Mercedes-Benz E-class, the ES forgoes the athleticism of its rivals and focuses solely being an effortless cruiser with a pleasant, well-dressed interior. The base model comes with a four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive, but a more powerful V-6 is optional, as is a fuel-efficient hybrid setup. No matter the powertrain, the ES is a smooth operator; its interior is lined with upscale materials, its seats are supportive and comfortable, and there's plenty of tech for both driver-assistance and infotainment purposes. It might not have the moves of its sportier rivals, but it delivers just as much luxury and costs less as well.
What's New for 2022?
Lexus has given the ES a light refresh for 2022, by tweaking the car's headlamps, grille, and wheel designs. Inside, the 8.0- and 12.3-inch infotainment screens have been swapped out for touchscreens of the same size that are moved closer to the driver for easier access. The F Sport trim can now be ordered on the hybrid ES300h and includes a new Dynamic Handling package when ordered on the V-6–powered ES350. The ES's suite of driver-assistance features—called Lexus Safety System+ 2.5—now includes pedestrian and cyclist detection, a new system that detects oncoming traffic in intersections, and a tweak to the adaptive cruise control system that slows the vehicle for sharp curves in the road.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
ES250 $41,875
ES350 $41,875
ES300h $42,975
F Sport $46,525
Luxury $47,275
Ultra Luxury $51,055
We think upgrading to the ES350 with the Ultra Luxury package is worth it even though it increases the price significantly over the base model. The Ultra Luxury package adds special 18-inch wheels, semi-aniline leather upholstery, a hands-free power trunk lid, a power rear sunshade, a wood-and-leather steering wheel, and an adaptive suspension. To that, we'd add the Navigation package, which upgrades the infotainment display to the larger 12.3-inch setup and adds in-dash navigation and voice recognition.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Lexus ES gives buyers a choice of three powertrains. The ES250 is powered by a 203-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and comes standard with all-wheel drive. All ES350 trims come with a 3.5-liter V-6 that generates 302 horsepower and is governed by an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. With all ES350h trims, motivation comes from a hybrid powertrain that provides a net output of 215 horsepower; a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive are standard. At our test track, the gas-only ES350 sprinted from a standstill to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds. The all-wheel drive ES250 and the hybrid ES350h both made the dash in a more leisurely 8.1 and 8.3 seconds, respectively. This Lexus sedan exhibits the composed handling and forgiving ride quality that's cherished by many luxury-car shoppers. For those seeking keener handling, the F Sport trim adds larger wheels and suspension tuning that's more performance oriented. Even with this upgrade, though, the ES is less athletic than competing models such as the BMW 5-series.

Integra Prototype Walkaround
Overview
Honda's Acura luxury division will soon relaunch an iconic nameplate and shake up the entry-luxury compact segment with an all-new Integra, replacing the aging ILX sedan in the lineup. Some may wonder why a luxury automaker would choose to launch a sporty car in the age of the SUV, but we'd be quick to remind them that the Integra is a big part of what made the Acura brand. The new car will be offered with a six-speed manual (an automatic will be optional) and shares its underpinnings with the all-new Honda Civic. The Integra comes with the same turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that's in the Civic Si, but we're hoping for an even perkier powertrain in a revived Type S model. And in the future, who knows? Maybe there will be an Acura Integra Type R that recalls the limited-edition screamer of the late Nineties.
What's New for 2023?
Acura's revived Integra will be an all new model for 2023 and we have been told production will start in 2022.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Integra $30,000 (est)
Integra Type S $40,000 (est)
Acura claims to be targeting a starting price around $30,000 f0r the base Integra. If a racy Type S model is in fact in the cards, we expect it to cost significantly more than a standard Integra. We will find out more about the Integra's powertrain, pricing, and standard and optional features closer to car's on-sale date and will update this story with details when we get them.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Acura has said that the new Integra will be powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine borrowed from the Civic Si, but the company hasn't released a horsepower figure. We are expecting at least 200 hp from this mill and buyers will have the choice between a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive will likely be the only setup but the Integra will come standard with a limited-slip differential.

2021 Honda CR-V
Overview
If you're seeking a compact SUV with impressive versatility, know that the 2021 Honda CR-V does just about everything well, which earned it an Editors' Choice award. The two-row Honda provides an attractive and spacious cabin bolstered by bountiful storage solutions that are perfect for pack rats and road trips. While neither of its four-cylinder powertrains—one turbocharged, one hybrid—are especially quick, both have notable fuel-economy ratings. Compared with the Mazda CX-5 and Volkswagen Tiguan, the CR-V is less entertaining from behind the wheel, but it has a pleasant ride and never feels uncoordinated. It also comes equipped with myriad active-safety features and offers all manner of popular technology. These qualities and a sophisticated appearance make the 2021 CR-V one of the best compact SUVs for small families.
What's New for 2021?
Honda transitions the CR-V into 2021 without making any significant changes.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
LX $26,575
Special Edition $27,775
EX $29,085
EX-L $31,675
EX Hybrid $31,785
EX-L Hybrid $34,375
Touring $34,875
Touring Hybrid $37,575
We think the EX Hybrid is the CR-V to get. Not only does it come stocked with popular standard features that include blind-spot monitoring, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it's more refined and fuel efficient than the gas model. While our chosen eco-minded CR-V doesn't offer any options, it comes standard with all-wheel drive.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Honda did its homework planting its first turbocharged engine—a 1.5-liter unit that makes 190 horsepower—in a CR-V and pairing it with one of the best continuously variable automatic transmissions (CVTs) available—praise we don’t give lightly. While most compact crossovers have meager towing limits, the CR-V has one of the lowest at 1500 pounds. Any parent moonlighting as a street racer might be disappointed with the CR-V’s acceleration. On the other hand, they—along with everyone else—will appreciate its refined ride, enthusiastic steering, and strong brakes. The composed and compliant ride of the CR-V makes for pleasant commutes, long or short. Its responsive brake pedal means you receive the stopping power you want when you ask for it. The CR-V hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors that combine for 212 horsepower. We found the hybrid system to be smooth and unobtrusive, and we appreciated that Honda mitigated engine drone at wide-open throttle by adding sound-deadening materials and giving the audio system an active noise-cancelling feature. This provided a much quieter experience than the base engine, which was one of the loudest in its class when matting the gas pedal.

2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS - All You Need to Know
Overview
The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan is the flagship of the brand's electrified future and one of the fanciest EVs ever. Its curvaceous body effortlessly slips through the air for maximum efficiency, and its palatial cabin boasts luxurious appointments and state-of-the-art features for the all-important wow factor. That's made most obvious by the optional glass-covered Hyperscreen dashboard. The sizable EV sedan is offered with a 329-hp, rear-drive powertrain (EQS450+) or a 516-hp, all-wheel-drive setup (EQS580 4Matic). Both utilize a large 107.8-kWh battery that's rated at up to 350 miles of range. While calling the 2022 EQS an electrifying luxury car is an easy pun, it's also entirely accurate.
What's New for 2022?
The all-new 2022 EQS is the first Mercedes to utilize a platform exclusively designed for EV models. It's also the first fully electric vehicle from the company's EQ subbrand to be offered to the U.S. market. It's expected to be followed by a fleet of new electrified models that include the squat EQA and boxy EQB subcompact crossovers as well as the EQE entry-luxury sedan.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
EQS450+ Premium $103,360
EQS450+ Exclusive $106,750
EQS450+ Pinnacle $109,560
EQS580 Premium $120,105
EQS580 Exclusive $123,560
EQS580 Pinnacle $126,360
The 2022 EQS is available in three different trim levels and two different powertrains, and we'd recommend the top Pinnacle trim in the rear-wheel drive EQS450+ guise. Going with the most luxurious trim level delivers niceties such as heated-and-ventilated front and rear seats, massage for the front seat passengers, four-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, and more. While it only makes 329 horsepower, the entry-level powertrain is plenty punchy and we think most drivers won't miss the performance of the all-wheel-drive EQS580 model.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The EQS450+ features an electric motor mounted on its rear axle that generates 329 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. The EQS580 4Matic has an electric motor on each axle, which translates to all-wheel drive and a total system output of 516 horsepower and 611 pound-feet of torque. Mercedes estimates the rear-drive variant will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. Opting for the more powerful all-wheel-drive model is said to drop the zero-to-60-mph time to 4.1 seconds. Every EQS rides on an adaptive air suspension and rolls on rims that range in size between 19 and 21 inches. A Standard rear-axle-steering system can angle the rear wheels up to 4.5 degrees, and there's an optional upgrade that can turn them 10 degrees. This technology is intended to both make the 205.4-inch-long sedan easier to maneuver in tight spots and increase its stability at high speeds. Based on our time behind the wheel, the EQS exhibits a quiet cabin and silken ride quality.

2022 Ford Bronco - Door Removal and Installation
Overview
The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is built to accelerate quicker, climb easier over rocks, and fly higher than the regular Bronco. It's basically the same blueprint Ford followed with the hugely entertaining and highly capable F-150 Raptor pickup. The ultimate Bronco boasts a 400-plus-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6, a special long-travel suspension, huge 37-inch tires, and lots of other off-road goodies. Thanks to distinctive styling cues, such as exaggerated fender flares and an exclusive grille design with amber lighting elements, the 2022 Bronco Raptor won't be confused for anything else. Of course, its extensive catalog of custom accessories ensures owners can further tailor their rig their way. While the Raptor is considerably more expensive than the standard-issue Bronco, hardcore enthusiasts will crave its incredible performance.
What's New for 2022?
Now that the all-new 2022 Bronco Raptor has been officially revealed, we can't wait to get behind the wheel. We also can't wait to test it side-by-side with the 470-hp Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. Ford says deliveries will begin this summer, and anyone who already has an existing order for the regular Bronco is able to change it to the Raptor.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Bronco Raptor 69,995
Ford has only announced the base price of the Bronco Raptor. It's slightly more expensive than the F-150 Raptor, which starts right around $67,000. However, only the Bronco version comes standard with 37-inch tires. Getting them on the pickup requires spending at least $78,470. We know the Bronco Raptor will only be offered with a four-door body style, but we're still waiting for pricing details on available packages and individual options.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Ford didn't put a V-8 in the Bronco, but the Raptor features an extra-potent twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 that's said to make more than 400 horsepower. The engine pairs exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an advanced four-wheel-drive system that works in concert with selectable G.O.A.T (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) modes. The Bronco Raptor also has an even beefier suspension setup than the standard version to best handle powering over sand dunes or being jumped through the air, and it has a much wider track that's set up for better high-speed stability. The Raptorized Bronco is equipped with Fox adaptive dampers from the F-150 Raptor as well as standard 37-inch BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires. The SUV is rated to tow up to 4500 pounds, too.

2022 Toyota C-HR
Overview
The 2022 Toyota C-HR's design is brimming with personality and curb appeal, but its driving demeanor is as bland as it comes. All models come with a lethargic four-cylinder engine, a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), and front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive isn't an option. Acceleration is torturously slow, and although it doesn't provide a lick of fun on a twisty road, the C-HR's ride is at least fairly comfortable. The cabin is snug in the rear seat, but otherwise is fairly practical. Some of the C-HR's cheeky exterior design elements even make their way into the cabin, with an asymmetrical dashboard design, shiny black trim, and textured headliner.
What's New for 2022?
Toyota has eliminated the affordable base LE trim for 2022, leaving the XLE as the entry-point to the lineup. Wind Chill Pearl replaces Blizzard Pearl on the color palette this year and can be had with a black contrast roof color.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
XLE $25,095
Nightshade $25,860
Limited $28,115
The XLE comes with plenty of features that most buyers will consider essential, including 18-inch wheels, a proximity key with passive entry, blind-spot monitoring, heated exterior mirrors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Toyota offers few options other than accessories, but we'd stop there anyway to keep the C-HR's cost affordable.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The C-HR's four-cylinder could use a turbocharger or a supercharger—or even a big can of Red Bull—as it's incapable of hustling this crossover up to speed with anything approaching enthusiasm. In our testing, the C-HR was only able to muster an 11.0-second saunter from zero to 60 mph, and it is significantly slower than most of its rivals. When driving normally around town, the lack of power is well disguised thanks to a responsive throttle that launches you eagerly off the line. But put your right foot deep in the accelerator pedal and the engine revs to its peak and stays there, droning on while you wait for the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to adjust its ratios in a futile attempt to provide rapid forward motion. Over bumps, the C-HR delivers a ride that is comfortable, but it isn't a standout in this segment. The suspension quickly rebounds after large road imperfections but hit a stretch of patched or broken pavement at speed and you're treated to a cacophony of noise; harsh bumps send reverberations throughout the cabin. The C-HR's steering feels accurate, and its front wheels respond directly to commands. Handling is lively, body roll is well controlled, and the C-HR feels playful from behind the wheel.

2022 Dacia Jogger - Family supercar!
Dacia is enjoying very strong deliveries in Europe with the Sandero hatchback beating the Volkswagen Golf for the sales crown in July this year. In 2020, the Romanian brand decided to discontinue the Lodgy van leaving its lineup with no seven-seater for about a year. Now, as it promised several weeks ago, Dacia is unveiling the Jogger as its “fourth pillar” after the Spring, Sandero/Logan, and Duster.
Taking the shape of a nicely proportioned crossover-van mashup, the brand new model will be available in five- and seven-seat configurations offering “the best price/habitability ratio” on the European market. The Jogger name refers to “sport, nature, and positive energy,” as Dacia explains, and reflects the typical characteristics of a Dacia model - practicality, robustness, and affordability.
From the nose to the A-pillar, the Jogger looks exactly like a Sandero Stepway but a little bend right before the rear doors adds 40 millimeters (1.57 inches) to the height of the car at the back. At 4,55 meters (179 in), the Jogger is the longest vehicle in Dacia’s current model range and has a cargo volume of 708 liters (25 cubic feet) in a five-seat configuration. Fold down the second row of seats and you’ll have a massive 1,819-liter (64.23 cu ft) space. Additionally, 24 liters (0.84 cu ft) of storage space are available throughout the cabin.
If you’ve ever been in a modern Dacia, the Jogger’s interior won’t bring any surprises. It has a familiar layout with a tablet-style infotainment screen on the center console and three round climate controls underneath. The base version will come as standard with a phone holder instead of the touchscreen turning your smart device into a navigation system. Other standard features include automatic headlights and wipers, speed limiter, and steering wheel-mounted control buttons.

2023 Kia Niro
Overview
With a bold new look, the 2023 Kia Niro is set to add a dose of cool to its eco-friendly image. Although we aren't sure on the specifics of the new Niro's powertrains, we know that both a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid model will be offered; the latter will likely have an electric-only range of between 25 and 30 miles per charge. The cabin, which is lined with sustainable materials, matches the extroverted exterior styling and looks fairly upscale for what will be one of Kia's entry-level models; it’ll be positioned next to the boxy Soul at the small end of the lineup. A novel 'Greenzone' drive mode will be standard and uses navigation data to automatically switch the Niro into EV mode when driving in neighborhoods, near schools and hospitals, and by frequently visited places such as a driver's office or home.
What's New for 2023?
The Niro is all-new for 2023 with styling is inspired by the HabaNiro concept from 2019. We expect to see the new Niro rolling into Kia showrooms by the end of 2022.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
LX $26,000 (est)
X-Line $28,000 (est)
EX $30,000 (est)
EX PHEV $32,000 (est)
SX $35,000 (est)
SX PHEV $38,000 (est)
Pricing and feature details for the new Niro have not yet been released, but we expect it to be offered in a variety of styles for a broad range of budgets. Kia has indicated that a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid powertrain will continue to be offered, as well as a full EV model, but we review that one separately.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Like the 2022 model, the redesigned 2023 Niro hybrid will be powered by a 139-hp hybrid powertrain comprised of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor. A six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will be standard and the 2023 Niro will be offered only with front-wheel drive. The plug-in hybrid powertrain hasn't been announced yet, but it's possible Kia will stick with the same setup the current model has, which uses the same basic powertrain of the regular hybrid model and simply adds a larger battery to provide all-electric driving capability. When we find out more, we'll update this story with details.

2022 Ford Bronco Raptor

2023 Toyota Sequoia
Overview
The Toyota Sequoia has always been a full-size, three-row SUV based on the platform of the Tundra pickup truck. That doesn’t change with the new generation arriving for the 2023 model year. The rest does: the new model is far more modern than the outdated second-generation Sequoia it replaces, which has been around for more than a decade. The new Sequoia comes standard with the Tundra’s iForce MAX hybrid powertrain, which combines a 3.4-liter V-6 engine with an electric motor for a total of 437 horsepower. Inside, it offers a large touchscreen with the latest software, along with a spacious cabin with seating for up to eight passengers. This should make the Sequoia more competitive with rivals such as the Chevy Tahoe and Ford Expedition.
What's New for 2023?
The Sequoia has been redesigned for 2023 and rides on the same underpinnings as the new Tundra, Land Cruiser, and the Lexus LX600. It’s available only as a hybrid and features a new look inside and out.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
R5 $53,000 (est)
TRD Sport $55,000 (est)
Limited $62,000 (est)
TRD Pro $67,000 (est)
Platinum $69,000 (est)
While Toyota has not yet released pricing, we think the Limited will likely be the best value in the lineup. It comes with a larger touchscreen, a power liftgate, heated-and-cooled front seats, and a power-folding third row.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The Sequoia comes standard with the iForce MAX hybrid powertrain that’s optional in the Tundra pickup. This powertrain is comprised of a twin-turbo 3.4-liter V-6 engine and an electric motor that produce a total of 437 hp and 583 pound-feet of torque. The Tundra’s 10-speed automatic transmission carries over to the Sequoia SUV as well. Rear-wheel drive is standard, with four-wheel drive optional on most versions—and standard on the off-road-oriented TRD Pro model. The TRD Pro also comes with off-road equipment such as upgraded shocks, a front skid plate, a locking rear differential, and different 18-inch wheels.

2020 McLaren 600LT Spider
Overview
McLaren is known for making cars that are preternaturally quick, and the 600LT is perfectly equipped to deliver on this promise. Available solely as a convertible, this supercar gets its muscle from a meaty V-8 that churns out a prodigious 592 horsepower. The automaker claims that's enough to get the 600LT from zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds. The car's high points include a truly organic steering feel and a playful, frisky disposition. The cabin looks appropriately high end, but it's missing driver-assistance features that are commonly offered by vehicles that cost a lot less than this quarter-million-dollar driving machine. Still, if your focus is on pure performance, you'll likely be very happy with the swift, eye-catching 600LT.
What's New for 2020?
McLaren has discontinued the 600LT coupe for the 2020 model year. That means the trim lineup now consists solely of the convertible, the 600LT Spider.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
Spider $259,000
The 600LT Spider is now the only trim on the 600LT's roster, and it comes with a nice selection of standard features. The car's wheels are staggered—19-inch rims in front and 20-inch in the rear. Design elements such as a wing spoiler, black side moldings, and rocker side-panel extensions give this McLaren an appropriately intimidating vibe. The power-retractable hard top allows you to easily lower the roof when you want to enjoy the weather, and automatic LED headlights with an auto-leveling feature are on hand to illuminate your path when night falls. The list of standard exterior amenities also includes rear fog lights, LED taillights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and heated power-folding side mirrors. Within the cabin, racing seats are standard, along with a manually adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering column. All models come with keyless entry and ignition, as well as an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The 600LT is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity. Amenities such as dual-zone air conditioning and a stereo are absent to reduce curb weight, but they can be added at no extra cost. When it comes to driver-assistance features, a backup camera is standard, as well as front and rear parking sensors.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
A twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-8 resides under the 600LT's hood, and this engine generates a potent 592 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. Its muscular V-8 gives this McLaren the goods to achieve breathtaking acceleration. McLaren estimates that the 600LT Spider will sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. We're big fans of this car's steering, which stands out for having a thoroughly natural feel. Keep in mind, though, that this McLaren's ride quality is undeniably stiff. This is a car built more for the track than the rigors of daily commuting.

Test Drive in the Luxurious New C Class
Overview
Some entry-luxury cars are too sporty and others are too soft, but Mercedes-Benz’s C-class falls in the sweet spot. It even earned a spot on our Editors' Choice list. In its standard C300 form, it combines a quiet and comfortable ride with just the right amount of handling acuity—and if you want more power and performance, Mercedes offers the AMG C43 and C63 models, which we review separately. The C300 is available in sedan, coupe, and convertible models. Although the current generation is nearing the end of its life cycle, it still has plenty of modern technology, and its interior and exterior designs have aged well. A redesigned C-class is expected to arrive within the next year or so.
What's New for 2021?
A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster is newly standard across the board, as are heated front seats. Plus, the sedan can be had with a Night package that adds black exterior trim.
Unless you desire an open-air experience or the extra style of the coupe, the sedan is the most sensible and satisfying of the C-class models. The C300 comes standard with rear-wheel drive; Benz's 4Matic all-wheel-drive system is a $2000 option. Of the many available extras, we’d consider the $1500 Premium package, which adds SiriusXM satellite radio, an upgraded audio system, and ambient lighting. But beware that many of the option packages are bundled together and can push the price of a sedan well beyond $50,000.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine powers all C300 models and generates 255 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, getting the Mercedes off the line without delay. A nine-speed automatic transmission performs shifting duties. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but you can get all-wheel drive (called 4Matic) for two grand more. In our testing of a C300 4Matic sedan, the car hit 60 mph in a sprightly 5.4 seconds. The engine is appropriately muted at idle and at highway speeds, but its soundtrack at full throttle is less pleasing than you'd expect. In our recent comparison test of entry-luxury sports sedans, the C300’s acceleration results put it about midpack, as the BMW 330i and Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0T were quicker.

2021 Dacia Bigster Concept
Dacia has revealed the new Bigster Concept, previewing a new back-to-basics mid-size SUV that will sit above the popular Duster in the budget brand’s range.
The new car is part of a plan to expand the budget brand into the profitable C-segment and has been unveiled as part of a renewed focus on Dacia’s value-for-money business strategy.
The Bigster Concept previews one of three new models that Dacia will launch by 2025, beyond the new Sandero, Logan and Spring EV that are all being launched this year.
The new machine will be built on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Allance's CMF-B platform, which will be used for all Dacia vehicles moving forward. Future Dacias will be offered with both ‘alternative energy’ - likely LPG - and hybrid powertrains.
The Bigster Concept is 4.6 metres long and described as “the Dacia way of making the C-segment accessible, delivering a larger, more capable vehicle at the cost buyers would expect from the segment below”.
The machine features Dacia’s distinctive Y-shaped headlight design, with rugged, simple styling that echoes the smaller Duster. Dacia says the concept features protective exterior panels made from raw recycled plastics. It also showcases a new logo that the brand is set to adopt.
Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, Dacia’s design boss, said: “The Dacia Bigster Concept epitomises the evolution of the brand. Essential, with a touch of cool and an outdoor spirit. It proves that accessible isn't opposed by any means to attractiveness. At Dacia we believe so, and this car is the proof.”
The Bigster Concept will be part of a major model offensive for Dacia, which has now been linked with Russian brand Lada within Groupe Renault.
