Vigilante 8 Two Player Cooperative Mode - Casino City (Actual N64 Capture)
This is a capture of me and a friend playing the Cooperative mode in Vigilante 8 for the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64. I'm player one and Drew is player two.
Vigilante 8 is another favorite of mine from the Nintendo 64 era. I used to play this game all the time in high school. I'd get some friends over and we'd have a blast (literally). This game has great multiplayer, especially for two people. I miss vehicular combat games. I've liked them ever since I first played Twisted Metal around 1995 or 1996.
I like to grab a friend and jump into Cooperative mode in this game, which allows you to fight up to nine cars in a team match. You can't do this with more than two people though because the system simply can't handle AI cars while splitting the screen more than two ways. So if you're playing with three or four people, you'll simply have to battle each other.
We entered in two cheat codes before we started. One was FIRE_NO_LIMITS. This allows you fire special weapons as fast as you can press the R button (there's normally a cooldown in between shots, which sucks). The second code was MIX_MATCH_CARS. This allows multiple players to use the same vehicle. Since Drew and I both like to use John Torque, we always enter this code.
What's nice about this game is that it supports the Expansion Pak and it allows you to split the screen either horizontally or vertically. Since I have an Expansion Pak, I always enable high resolution mode. There's also a cheat for an ultra resolution mode, but it drops the framerate way too low.
In this video Drew and I battled nine school buses on the Casino City map and bass quaked them into oblivion using John Torque (because Bass Quake is awesome. Although it hardly does damage, launching school buses off the screen is still hilarious).
Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the official N64 S-video cable. I used a Toshiba model D-R550 DVD Recorder to standardize the N64's 240p/480i output so that the Hauppauge could capture the console's audio/video signal.
We're using standard Nintendo 64 controllers.

Vigilante 8 Playthrough (Actual N64 Capture) - Chassey Blue Quests
This is part 1 of my capture of me playing through the Quest mode in Vigilante 8 on the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Vigilante 8 cartridge. I'm playing on Unleaded difficulty.
I've been a huge fan of vehicular combat games ever since I first played Super Mario Kart back around 1992 or so. Some time before the Nintendo 64 came out, I visited one of my father's friends, and that friend had a son who owned a PlayStation. This guy happened to be playing Twisted Metal, which I knew nothing about. When I asked if I could join him, he let me, and we did several one-on-one matches with me basically getting my ass kicked. Despite this fact, I had a ton of fun and kept bugging this guy to let me play Twisted Metal to the point that he had to start saying no.
I later obtained a Nintendo 64 for Christmas of 1996, and a couple years after that, Vigilante 8 came out for the system. I'm not sure if I heard about Vigilante 8 through Nintendo Power or if I rented it or what, but somehow, I found out about the game and decided to get it due to its similarities to Twisted Metal. So somewhere around 1999 I managed to buy a brand new copy of Vigilante 8 for about $30 or so (it was discounted by then) and proceeded to play the hell out of the game.
Vigilante 8 has been one of my go-to multiplayer games for nearly two decades now. I used to play this game all the time with friends, whether it was in two, three or four-player mode. Even to this day, I still play the game on occasion with my friend Drew. I love being able to play against AI opponents (something that wasn't available in other games such as GoldenEye) since you don't have to rely on having other people around.
The multiplayer mode in this game is really the shining star, but Vigilante 8 also has a Quest mode that allows you complete specific missions with each character. The missions themselves are nothing special. It's basically just involves preventing the AI from destroying certain buildings or objects. The AI will generally just focus on you, and not its mission objectives, so if you stay away from the buildings and whatnot you shouldn't have much trouble passing the missions.
Even though the Quest mode isn't all that great, it's a nice little addition to this game, and nothing I can really complaint about.
In this first part I completed all of the missions for Chassey Blue.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - Race B Mode (Actual N64 Capture)
[Note: This video and description were originally posted on Youtube on September 28, 2019.]
This is a capture of me playing the Race B multiplayer mode in Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge.
This is the last multiplayer mode that I needed to upload from this game. The Race mode is based upon the lava hoverboard racing section from the single-player adventure. You can swing a melee weapon to hit other racers and pick up two items on the track: the rocket and nitrous boost. This mode isn't very challenging, but if you hit a wall at full speed you'll die instantly.
This mode has two different track variants: A and B. The A variant veers to the left while the B variant veers to the right at the fork in the track. I'm showing off the B track in this video while racing against seven AI opponents on bastard difficulty.
This mode feels like an afterthought that was quickly thrown together after the other multiplayer modes were completed. The races are short and simple, so there isn't much replay value. That's why I hardly ever play this mode, and why I didn't bother to post any footage of this mode sooner.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - Two-Player Tank Mode (Actual N64 Capture)
[Note: This video and description were originally posted on Youtube on January 3, 2017.]
This is a capture of me and a friend playing the Tank multiplayer mode in Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge. I'm player one and Drew is player two. We're playing on Einstein difficulty against seven tanks using the single-tank cooperative mode.
Drew and I have this tradition dating back to 2001 where we play Conker whenever he visits because the multiplayer is so damn awesome. Over the past few years we started regularly recording our gameplay to see if we'd end up with any amazing new footage. We recently managed to record some awesome new Tanks footage, so I'm replacing the old video with some higher-quality stuff.
This is some footage of us playing the two-player Tank mode where you share the same tank with player one driving and player two gunning. Whenever Drew and I play Conker we tend to save this mode for last. It's really fun, but it's not quite as amazing as the other modes, so some times if we've had enough Conker for the day we just skip the mode altogether. The power-ups certainly help though, such as the cannon that kills in one hit (we call it the one-hitter quitter).
Also, while trying to record some new Tanks footage, Drew and I discovered a possible glitch. We noticed that whenever we hit a score of 40 or more with these exact settings, the HUD would suddenly begin to flash, then eventually disappear (usually with a minute or two remaining on the timer). After the HUD disappears, the shots begin to look weird and the game simply freezes, typically when the alarm is sounding from a canister capture. Even though I cleaned both the cartridge and the system itself, the glitch seemed to keep happening. So if anyone else can test this out on actual hardware, we'd love to hear the results. Enjoy the new footage.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - Two-Player Colors Mode (Actual N64 Capture)

This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge. I'm player one and Drew is player two. We're playing on the Squirrel side on Bastard difficulty with a 5 vs. 5 team setup.

Over the past few years we started regularly recording our gameplay to see if we'd end up with any amazing new footage. Colors is simply a capture the flag mode in a general war setting. It's actually much harder to play on the squirrel side, but Drew and I still tend to do that. Squirrel teammates tend to be idiots and they're slower to run back the opposing team's flag (you take fall damage when you drop off the Tediz base with their flag, but the same is not true for Tediz falling off the Squirrel base).
The AI can also be a real son of a bitch in this mode by camping in hard-to-spot areas and then sniping with the one-hit-kill magnum. The computer's accuracy with that weapon is absolute bullshit. Even on bastard difficulty, Drew and I have a tough time securing flag captures, and we frequently die in the middle of the battlefield without a clue as to who shot us. If you want to have a better chance of winning at this mode, play on the Tediz side.
Despite these flaws, this mode is really fun, even if you're playing by yourself (since you can at least have AI teammates). In this match we managed to secure two flag captures before the AI went batshit crazy and decided to shoot our heads off while we were still in our base. I hope you enjoy the new footage.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - Two-Player Total War Mode (Actual N64 Capture)

This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge. I'm player one and Drew is player two. We're playing on the Squirrel side on Einstein difficulty with 8 Tediz on the opposing team.

Over the past few years we started regularly recording our gameplay to see if we'd end up with any amazing new footage. We recently managed to record some awesome new War footage, so I'm replacing the old video with some higher-quality stuff.
Back in the day Drew and I used to play Total War with even teams, meaning that we would have AI teammates. However, somewhere along the line Drew discovered that we could imbalance the teams on the menu screen so that we could play by ourselves against even more opponents. So Drew actually started the tradition of having the both of us face off against a maximum of eight Tediz opponents. The ensuing carnage was just hilarious, and we stuck with it ever since.
In this match Drew and I ran amok while killing Tediz with anything we could. I got some nice kills with the chainsaw and flame thrower, and Drew got some awesome sniper and grenade shots. We also stopped the evil Tediz bastards from capturing our canister. Overall, this is one of the most entertaining War matches we've had. I hope you enjoy the new footage.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - Deathmatch on Bunker (Actual N64 Capture)
[Note: This video and description were originally posted on Youtube on September 26, 2019.]
This is a capture of me playing the deathmatch multiplayer mode in Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge.
I realized that I had not posted any single-player footage of the deathmatch mode to show myself playing against the AI, so here's a recording of this mode. I already have footage posted of four-player splitscreen deathmatch, but you don't get any AI opponents with that many players.
The deathmatch mode is simply represented by a skull icon and is a free-for-all combat scenario. Deathmatch mostly features maps from the other multiplayer modes such as the Vault from Heist, but this mode does have an original map named Bunker, which I'm showing off here.
Bunker is interesting because of the environmental hazards such as electrified floors and flame walls. You can also run into the bathroom and piss everywhere. If anyone else happens to run in there, you can piss on them to do damage. Sometimes the AI opponents will actually run in and give you the opportunity to do that.
Aside from that, there's also a chain gun bolted to the floor in one of the areas. I prefer to run around with either a bazooka or chainsaw and just go to town on everyone.
For this video I played against nine AI opponents on bastard difficulty.
Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the official N64 S-video cable. I used a Toshiba model D-R550 DVD Recorder to upconvert the N64's native 240p signal to 480i so that the Hauppauge could capture the console's audio/video signal.

Conker's Bad Fur Day - Two-Player Heist Mode (Actual N64 Capture)

This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge. I'm player one and Drew is player two. We're playing on the blue team on Bastard difficulty.
Drew and I have this tradition dating back to 2001 where we play Conker whenever he visits because the multiplayer is so damn awesome. Over the past couple years we started regularly recording our gameplay to see if we'd end up with any amazing new footage. We recently managed to record some awesome new Heist footage, and since my video quality has improved since the last time I uploaded this stuff, I decided it was time for a new video.
In this video Drew and I managed to secure the money three times in just over five minutes. This is one of the best Heist runs we've ever done. Not only did we coordinate our money captures well, but Drew in particular did an amazing job since he managed to dodge three baseball bats at the same time while carrying the money. The bazookas also helped.
This mode has always made me laugh because of all the goofy shit the weasels say. When I first played this mode back in 2001 I started beating the shit out of another weasel with a baseball bat and it made me laugh so hard that I cried. To this day "Fucking sprayed his ass everywhere" and "cut you up good you cocksucker" still make me laugh.

In this video we once again took over the raptor base and proceeded to kill the dumb lizards with bombs and arrows like we always do. About a year go we altered our strategy by having both of us use crossbows instead of having one person on the bow and the other on bombs. This is the result.
We once again demonstrated the special boner bat technique where you clobber the shit out of a raptor with jumping boner bat swings. And of course, we played by ourselves without any AI Ugas, because who needs those idiots anyway? They'll just steal our kills, those rat bastards.

This is a capture of me and a friend playing the Beach multiplayer mode in Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using an actual Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge. I'm player one and Drew is player two. We're playing on the Tediz side on Einstein difficulty with 8 Frenchies on the field.
Drew and I have this tradition dating back to 2001 where we play Conker whenever he visits because the multiplayer is so damn awesome. Over the past couple years we started regularly recording our gameplay to see if we'd end up with any amazing new footage. We recently managed to record some awesome new Beach footage, so I'm replacing the old video with some higher-quality stuff.
Drew and I typically play the Beach mode right off the bat when we start a Conker multiplayer session. We always play as the Tediz (shooting Frenchies is way more fun than running as them) and we load up the match with the maximum number of AI Frenchies (eight).
Usually I handle the sniper rifle, but in this match Drew took care of the sniping and I grabbed the bazooka. The results were hilarious. Drew landed some incredible headshots including splattering a Frenchy's head in mid-air all the way at the way out on the beach (see the 2:42 mark). That is the single most impressive shot I've ever seen in this mode.
I also landed some decent shots on the Frenchies that tried crossing the stone bridge close to our sniper towers. Enjoy the footage.
Recorded with the Hauppauge HD PVR and the official N64 S-video cable. I used a Toshiba model D-R550 DVD Recorder to upconvert the N64's native 240p signal to 480i so that the Hauppauge could capture the console's audio/video signal.
We're both using standard Nintendo 64 controllers.

Conker's Bad Fur Day Playthrough (Actual N64 Capture) - Part 16
This is part 16 of my capture of me playing through Conker's Bad Fur Day on the Nintendo 64. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my Nintendo 64 using a real Conker's Bad Fur Day cartridge.
In this final part I completed the Heist chapters and beat the game.
