"I’d like to share data on radiation safety based on published science, testing results, and public standards. At the bottom end of the radiation scale of what is called power density (or signal strength) is the minimum level at which cell phones will work, which is .2 billionths of a microwatt/cm squared. At .000027 pine needles were found to age prematurely. At short term exposures of .05, children aged 8-17 experienced headache, irritation, concentration difficulties and behavioral problems. .1 is the building biology guideline for extreme concern. 1.0 produced sperm DNA fragmentation and a decrease in sperm viability in vitro and the following – headaches, dizziness, fatigue, insomnia, chest pain, difficulty breathing and indigestion. 2.5 saw altered calcium metabolism in heart muscle cells. 4.0 exhibited changes in the hippocampus affecting brain memory, and learning. And at 6.0 there was DNA damage in cells. So where are smart meters? Electrical Power Institute in December 2010 measured a single Itron smart meter, with pulses up to 7.93 or approx. 8.0. These tests are at a close distance of approximately one foot away from the meter, but an infant’s crib could be just as close on the other side of the wall where the meter is installed. Even though there are all these known health effects at levels far lower, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and Luxembourg set the standard at 9.5; China, Poland and Russia at 10.0. This is the same level at which behavior has been altered, producing reflexes of avoidance following 30 minute exposures. A room of 12 smart meters, a very common and conservative number in an apartment building, tested at 19.8. This is 100’s of times higher than levels which clearly indicate harmful effects. How can utilities and governments get away with forcing these devices on everyone? Well, in Canada and the US, the safety limit is set at 600-1000 microwatts/cm squared. This “safety limit” is literally tens of 1000s times higher than levels that are known to damage health according to peer-reviewed published science." Thanks for watching! April 4, 2024 Northumberland County, VA Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission and Economic Development Committee met with six Dominion Power representatives from various teams: Project Manager in charge of installing all the AMI smart meters, metering solutions group head, metering engineering and planning team (24 yrs.), supervisor for metering and engineering plan, and two others. Dominions power point presentation lasted all of 10 minutes. The other two hours were questions from county public servants, then the public in person, online and in person.
