The Attack On Israel: How Did The Intelligence Miss This? And What Will Be The Military Response
Hamas' surprise attack on Israel, where over 800 people are dead (as of this posting) was a surprise. The question is, how could this happen? Was Israel asleep at the wheel? Has Hamas gotten that much better in hiding their activities that they could build bombs and plan a full scale raid of southern Israel without Mossad and Shin Bet noticing?
And now that Israel is responding with force, what will Hamas and Iran do next? Is the United States in danger of being attacked?
Retired US Army Major Mike Lyons has the breakdown of what happened, and how the US might respond to ensure safety and stability.

NBC’s Alexander Grills KJP: Biden Says Border Walls Don’t Work, Now DHS Is Building Walls
ALEXANDER: “The president earlier today said that — he was asked, ‘Does the border wall work?’ He said, ‘No.’ But in the statement that was posted within the last 24 hours, the Department of Homeland Security Secretary says, ‘There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States.’ So, who’s right: the statement from the DHS Secretary overnight or the President’s comments today saying they don’t work?”
Jean-Pierre: “So, a couple of things. Yes, it showed up on the register today. But the announcement — this is not new. This is from six months ago.”
ALEXANDER: “Well, it is new, because the waiving of the laws actually didn’t happen until overnight.”
Jean-Pierre: But it was — this is something that was out back — that the DHS was — put out back in — in — in — six months ago.”
ALEXANDER: “So, wait, wait. So, they waived the —“
Jean-Pierre: “So — and now — they announced — no —“
ALEXANDER: “Did they waive the laws six months ago?”
Jean-Pierre: “Well, what I’m saying is DHS announced this back in — in June, that the agency would do so. They actually said that they would do that back — in DHS –”
ALEXANDER: “But — so, they moved forward with it today — but the initial announcement was six months ago — by waiving the law. So, that’s what’s new today. Understood.”
Jean-Pierre: “Yes —“
ALEXANDER: “So, this statement, when he says ‘presently’ was filed —“
Jean-Pierre: “ — just want to make sure we’re clear on that.”
ALEXANDER: “— so, when he said there is ‘presently,’ are you saying, when he says there is ‘presently,’ he was referring to six months ago or referring to the date of which it was filed — 10/4?”
Jean-Pierre: “What I can tell you is DHS announced this back in June, that they were going to move forward with this. That’s what I can share with you. That’s what I — I know is to be true and is to be fact. Look, I can speak for the President. The President said — he was asked directly — he doesn’t believe a border wall is effective.”
ALEXANDER: “Does he have a disagreement with his Department of Homeland Security Secretary?”
Jean-Pierre: “I — I — what I can tell you is what the President — I — I’m going to tell you what the President said and what your colleague asked him. He said no, he doesn’t believe that the border wall —“
ALEXANDER: “I ask because he’s speaking —“
Jean-Pierre: “— is effective.”
ALEXANDER: “— in direct contradiction to what his own Homeland Security —“
Jean-Pierre: “No, I hear you.”
ALEXANDER: “ — Secretary says.”
Jean-Pierre: “I hear you. I’m speaking for the president. I’m saying that he has said that he does not believe a border wall is effective. That’s what he was asked. He has said that for some time now, and it still remains to be the case. He asked — right? — he asked Congress multiple times, his team has asked Congress to reappropriate the funds. They refuse to do that. We’re going to comply by law.”
ALEXANDER: “Will you ask the president on our behalf, then, in the absence of our ability to do that, whether he disagrees with the statement that there is ‘presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers’?”
Jean-Pierre: “I’m happy to take that back.”
ALEXANDER: “Thank you.”
Jean-Pierre: “I’m happy to take that back."

Texas Border Town Resident: Biden’s Border Crisis is ‘Catastrophic’ and ‘a Humanitarian Crisis’
Reporter (voice-over): “But when you talk with folks who call the Rio Grande Valley home and have been dealing with the flow of migrants and crossings for years, they have long been frustrated that more hasn’t been done.”
BELL: “It’s — it’s crazy down here. I mean, we’re back to numbers that we were seeing in May. (...) It is catastrophic. It is unreal. And it’s a travesty. It’s a humanitarian crisis at its best. And we have folks that we are supposed to call leaders — they don’t even deserve that title anymore.”

Hillary Clinton on MAGA Republicans: ‘There Needs To Be a Formal Deprogramming of the Cult Members’
>> Amanpour: So when you look at how to go forward with the country you say, is there any area of coalition building that could happen? There are pragmatic Republicans, as you say. Could there be a new a whole new way of trying to, you know, get legislation going and cross-party governance going by Democrats and certain Republicans forming a coalition?
>> CLINTON: Well you saw the number of Republicans who voted along with Democrats to keep the government open. So there’s clearly a common sense, you know, sane part of the Republican caucus in the house. But I think they are intimidated. They oftentimes you know, say and do things which they know better than to say or do, and it will require us defeating those most extreme measures, and the people who promote them, in order to try to get to some common ground where people can, again, work together. That’s the way it used to be. I mean, we had very strong partisans in both parties in the past, and we had very bitter battles over all kinds of things. Gun control and climate change and the economy and taxes. But there wasn’t this little tail of extremism wagging the dog of the Republican Party as it is today. And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists, take their marching orders from Donald Trump who has no credibility left by any measure. He’s only in it for himself. He’s now defending himself in civil actions, in criminal actions, and when do they break with him? You know, because at some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members, but something needs to happen.
>> I Think sadly he will still be the nominee and we have to defeat him and we have to defeat those who are the election deniers as we did in 2020 and 2022. And we have to, you know, just be smarter about how we are trying to empower the right people inside the Republican Party. You know, Nancy Pelosi had a majority of five votes when she was speaker. Kevin McCarthy had majority of five votes. Nancy Pelosi passed consequential legislation, and she clearly had members within her caucus who ranged across a spectrum of political beliefs and ideology and she kept everybody together and focused on the future. He couldn’t do that. And so he paid a price, but more importantly, the country paid a price.

Jordan: Why Should We Send American Tax Dollars to Ukraine When We Don’t Even Know What the Goal Is?
JORDAN: "Somebody has to bring our team together or we will not get done what the American people know need to be done and what is good for our nation. Somebody needs to do it, I think I’m equipped to do it and take the message to the American people.
RAJU: “What about Ukraine? Are you — are you willing to move forward with an aid package for Ukraine if you’re speaker?”
JORDAN: “I’m — I’m against that. What I understand is, at some point we’re gonna have to deal with this appropriations process in the right way, and we’ll try to do that in the next, what are we down to, 41 days. The most pressing issue on Americans’ minds is not Ukraine. It is the border situation and it is crime on the streets.”
JORDAN: Why should we be sending American tax dollars to Ukraine when we don’t even know what the goal is? No one can tell me what the objective is. Is it — is it some kind of negotiated peace? Is it driving them out of the eastern Ukraine? Is it driving them out of Crimea, which they’ve had for 10 years now, but they took during the Obama Administration? What is the objective? And so until you can tell me the goal, I don’t think we should continue to send money there, particularly when we have the problems we have on our border. So that’s fundamental. I just think that’s front and center. And then second, how is the money that’s already been sent, how has it — how has it been spent?”
DOOCY: “Right.”
JORDAN: “What kind of waste is going? Those are two fundamental questions that I think the American taxpayers want to know the answers to before they send any more of their hard earned money there, particularly you’re sending money there to protect Ukraine’s border —“
DOOCY: “Right.”
JORDAN: “— when we got the situation we have on our border. So —“
DOOCY: “Sure.”
JORDAN: “— those are the fundamental questions that we should get answered before we even think about sending more money.”

Does It Matter Who Gets Picked as Speaker?
This race for Speaker of the House seems to be boiling down to three names: Rep. Steve Scalise, Rep. Jim Jordan and, yes, former President Donald Trump.
The question is: Does it matter who the GOP picks? Will they be able to do the job without Rep. Matt Gaetz lurking in the shadows? Speaking of the job....what is it that we expect out of a Speaker who has such a slim majority?
Townhall columnist, lawyer and author Kurt Schlichter talks to Tony about what's next for the GOP. Find Kurt's latest book at Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CK6QPJKG

McCarthy: ‘I’m Not Sure Those Eight People Are Looking to Be Productive'
McCarthy: “You know, you need 218 for the rule, 218 to move forward. And I’ll never give up on the American people. That doesn’t mean I have to be speaker to do what I have to do for the American people. There’s a lot of things I could do for the American people. But you know what’s interesting? Everybody’s sitting there. In today’s world, if you’re sitting in Congress, and you took a gamble to make sure government was still open, and eight people can throw you out as speaker, and the Democrats who said they wanted to keep government open, I think you’ve got a real divide. I think you’ve got a real institutional problem. Interesting, it was in this room, after we had won the majority, I had become speaker, and Nancy Pelosi came to me, she was speaker at the time on the way out. And I told her I was having issues with getting enough votes, she goes, ‘What’s the problem?’ I say, ‘They want this one person can rule you out.’ She was the only speaker to have changed that rule. I had the power to call the vote on her, but I never would. I lost some votes because of it. She said, ‘Just give it to ‘em. I’ll always back you up. I made the same offer to Boehner and same thing to Paul because I believe in the institution.’ I think today was a political decision by the Democrats. And I think the things they have done in the past hurt the institution. They just started removing people from committee and they just started doing other things. My fear is the institution fell today. Because you can’t do the job if eight people — you have 94% or 96% of your entire conference, but eight people can partner with the whole other side, how do you govern? And for them to make a motion on me because I made a decision for the country that they agreed with, but they choose to do the other, that becomes a problem.
Not all those eight, but these are the same people that never voted for me. They thought it was big, they went to ‘present’ after we went through 15 rounds. Why do I do something for myself that can hurt the country? Why create — I’m not quite sure those individuals are looking to be productive. It concerns me as a Republican, based upon watching what they do. I want to be a Republican and a conservative that governs. And we’re going to have to find our way to do that. The challenge is, we had so many opportunities. These are the same people that sat on the floor and criticized me that we didn’t get all 12 spending bills done, but we first had to do a debt ceiling that they didn’t support. They held up every appropriation bill in the summer because they wouldn’t let it come through. After the debt ceiling, they stopped us from doing anything on the floor. When we had a continuing resolution that would do something on the border I listened to one talk about how it made him think about the border and when he voted against it. And then they wanted to challenge me because I worked with the other side so America could go forward and government could stay open. You know, if you have to lose for something, I will always lose for the country. It is a much better battle to have.”

McCarthy Is Out: Right or Wrong Decision?
Led by Rep. Matt Gaetz, and backed by the entire Democratic side and a total of eight Republicans, Kevin McCarthy has been stripped of the speaker title.
Some say good riddance. McCarthy didn't hold the line on spending, and worked with the Democrats to advance a clean Continuing Resolution that gave Biden and the Democrats too much. Their argument is pretty clear: A change has to come. This spending madness has to stop.
Some say that the intransigence of Gaetz and others led to the need for a clean CR; that it is Gaetz who worked with Democrats to upend the Republican Party. And, what's the plan now? Is anyone thinking of the future?
Either way, McCarthy is out. Is it the right decision, or a wrong decision?

Trump on NYC Trial: 'This Is a Continuation of the Single Greatest Witch Hunt of All Time'
TRUMP: "This is a continuation of the single greatest witch hunt of all time. We have a rogue judge who ruled the properties are worth a tiny fraction, 1/100th, a tiny fraction of what they actually are. We have a racist attorney general who is a horror show who ran on the basis she would get Trump before she even knew anything about me. She used this to run for governor. She failed in her attempt to run for governor. Virtually no following. She came back and said now I will go back to get Trump again."

LGBTQ Activist: ‘To Hell with This Idea of Parental Rights’
TikTok Activist: “Let’s talk about parental rights for a second, because it’s become evident that it’s being used currently in this fight against queer people, and especially queer kids who need more protections than ever before. Like in Saskatchewan and in the U.S. parental rights are being used to thwart any rights of autonomy that the kid might have — and I’m sorry, but kids do have autonomy. We’ve already established this. For example, if a kid needs a blood transfusion, and the parents don’t want to, it’s not the parents right to refuse that blood transfusion for that kid, because it is life saving. In the same respect if a kid only needs to, like use a different name and pronoun in school, there might be a reason and a good reason they’re not coming out at home, and they need a safe place to be themselves. And so, to hell with this idea of parental rights when it comes to kids who have their own consent and then their own bodily autonomy and their own autonomy to their personhood that needs to be protected.”

Gaetz on Plans to Oust McCarthy as Speaker of the House: This Isn’t Personal
KARL: “So, I know you say this is not personal with Kevin McCarthy, but it sure sounds personal.”
GAETZ: “I’m only talking about substantive de-dollarization.”
KARL: “Okay. But let me ask you about the relationship. When was the last time you talked with him one-on-one? I mean, have you had a — “
GAETZ: “Well, a matter of fact, just a couple weeks ago, Kevin McCarthy appointed me to the National Defense Conference Committee on the NDAA, and we spoke about some of our alliance and defense priorities. So, this isn’t personal. Some people make policy disagreements personal because their own policy failures are so personally embarrassing to them. I hold no personal animus to any — with any of my Republican colleagues, by the way, including my Republican colleague you’re about to have on next, who’s had some pretty terse words for me. But at the end of the day, this is about spending. This is about the deal Kevin made in January. I do resent the fact that Kevin is like owned by lobbyists and special interests — “
KARL: “That sounds personal, by the way.”
GAETZ: “No, it’s not personal. It’s substantive.”
KARL: “That’s an attack on a guy’s integrity.”
GAETZ: “Well, it is an attack on the system that he has used to obtain the speakership. I am fighting for a different system, one based on spending guardrails, agreements on process. Kevin promised us 72 hours to read the bill. We didn’t have it. He promised us $100 million wouldn’t go on to the suspension agenda without the opportunity for amendments. Broke that deal, too. And he promised us we could return to pre-Covid spending levels. There’s almost no promise he hasn’t violated.”
KARL: “So you’re not accomplishing anything here.”
GAETZ: “That’s not true.”
KARL: “You don’t have the votes to remove him.”
GAETZ: “By the way, I don’t know until we have them. And by the way, I might not have them the first time, but I might have them before the 15th ballot. That’s the number of ballots Kevin McCarthy needed.”
KARL: “So you’re going to do this every day, like you had suggested? You’ll, lik,E go through this process of voting over and over and over again?”
GAETZ: “I am relentless, and I will continue to pursue this objective. And if all the American people see that it is a uniparty that governs them and that it is always the Biden, McCarthy, Jeffries government that makes dispositive decisions on spending, then I am seeding the field of future primary contests to get better Republicans in Washington who will actually tackle these deficits and debts.”

Democrats Infuriated By Impeachment Inquiry. GOP Should Keep Going
Democrats from Rep. Ocasio-Cortez to Adam Schiff are infuriated with the impeachment inquiry into President joe Biden. And they should be; Hunter Biden's selling of influence has his dad - the leader of the Democrat party - in a bad, bad position.
To counter this, the Progressive Left exclaims that there is "no evidence!" Of course there isn't....if you refuse to look.
Also, a judge in Georgia has taken a unique axe to free speech. The courts usually avoid this one line, working hard not to cross it. Consider the line crossed, and consider the consequences for all of us.
William Jacobson, Cornell Law Professor and creator of Legalinsurrection.com joins Tony to discuss the issues.

Comer: A Person Who Represents China Has Wired Money to Hunter Biden Using Joe Biden’s Home Address
>>COMER "I can tell you on the wire that Hunter Biden received from the Chinese national the beneficiary address listed was Joe Biden’s home address at a time where I’m pretty certain Hunter Biden was not living in the home of Joe Biden if you go back even further than that. This Jonathan Lee who wired the $260,000 from China to Hunter Biden’s personal account, he is part of the Chinese communist party. He is a huge business person in China with the Chinese backed entity that funds investments ins United States. The one issue in Congress that Republicans and Democrats agree on. We don’t want China taking over industries important to our national security. We don’t want China buying farmland. This is the guy that does that Jonathan Lee is the person who represents China. And if you research it, Joe Biden met with Jonathan Lee. He wrote a letter of recommendation for his child to get into college in the United States. There is a relationship that was developed between Joe Biden and Jonathan Lee when he was vice president and now we have evidence that Jonathan Lee, who Joe Biden said his son never took any money from, said his son never took any money from China. Hunter Biden’s lawyer said that Hunter never received any money from this guy. We have evidence that he received over a quarter of million dollars. The address listed on the wire was Joe Biden’s personal residence."

Sec. Buttigieg: Republicans Are Creating Problems at the Border So They Can Blame Us
>>BUTTIGIEG: "That's pretty rich coming from a guy who is prepared to stop air traffic control staffing. We see a repeated pattern here, which is creating a problem or contributing to a problem and then trying to score points off of that same problem. We see at the border. We see it with transportation. Some of these same Republican congressmen who lined up to try to make a partisan issue out of the flight disruptions happening last year because of Covid now they are here threatening to get in the way of air traffic controllers getting paid, getting trained and even putting out proposals that would stop us or delay us from modernizing computer systems. Some of the same Republican congressmen who lined up trying to score political points off the pain of the people who faced the East Palestine train derailment had year are pushing for cuts that would reduce railroad safety inspections. 11,000 miles of track less getting inspected under some of these cuts that House Republicans are proposing. So at a certain point they need to make clear whether they are serious or whether this is just politics. They have a job to do, and that is to actually run the government, keep the American people safe and make sure – whether we are talking about transportation or any other critical function of government, keep that running in a way that actually addresses these problems."

Hunter Biden took $250K from the CPP...and The Media Does Not Care
Oversight Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has produced more evidence about the shady dealings of Biden, Inc. This time, purported proof of a wire transfer sent from Jonathan Li to hunter Biden, while he was residing at his father's house in Delaware.
Jonathan Li is the Chinese (see, Communist Party devotee) business man whom hunter introduced to his father. Joe Biden even wrote letters about his respect for Li.
Will this be the final nail in Biden's 2024 bid? Can Democrats survive his possible corruption, the actions of his son AND Biden's very obvious age limitations?
The second GOP debate is taking place tonight. Does it even matter when the closest poll has Trump up by 30 points?
