I've received this question a lot recently, which kratom is best for energy. As more people ditch the coffee and look to an alternative, kratom's becoming one of the top choices because of it's remarkable properties and benefits it offers.
The Question
As mentioned in the episode most kratom is stimulating, it's one of the main effects most notice immediately from lower doses. The many other properties vary from strain to strain, such as pain relief, anxiety relief etc. It's also known that every body just doesn't react the same way to every strain. This biochemical variance in individuals play a role in how well a specific strain works for you.
Typically you'll find in most articles white vein kratom being touted as the most stimulating with a mood enhancing property and for some pain relief. For years white vein kratom was the go to but could there be something far better is the question.
The Data
Based on what we know scientifically the alkaloids responsible for pain relief have been identified and narrowed down to two out of the 30+ that have been observed in kratom. Which alkaloids play a big role in energy effects hasn't been talked about enough, this is where more study can help us understand what that could potentially be. The same would be said about the mood enhancing properties, what profile of combined alkaloids do what for a user beyond the variation of individual biochemistry.
Conclusion #1 Kratom For Energy Is
So finally if you made it to the end here is my top choice for best kratom for energy this year, I have observed in numerous occasions that the following offer the best energy properties, no crash and are long lasting throughout the day,
Gold Vein Kratom
Yellow Vein Kratom
White Vein Kratom

Kratom Ban 2023 What Happens Next
The controversial herbal supplement kratom has been the talk of the town for years, specifically it's regulation and potential ban as more and more bad news surfaces around it's use.
Kratom For Pain And Opioid Replacement
The use of kratom has grown in popularity as an alternative to opioids as well as for many other purposes. The main use now has been for pain relief, the science has shown how effective it is for pain management long term with far less health issues. On the flip side you have many who use it as a way to get off opioids or heroin, those numbers are far lower than those who use it for therapeutic purposes.
The benefits gained by those using it as medicine daily vary, there a few that are the most mentioned reasons for it's use here are some of them now,
Pain Management
Energy And Focus
Mood Enhancer
Depression
Relaxation
These are some of the many other reasons people use kratom other than as an opioid replacement
What A Kratom Ban Means
As many of you already know we have a growing threat to our very existence, between opioids, fentanyl and over regulation people who need pain meds can't get it, I hear this story often. People tell me "my doctor recently reduced my pain med allotment" or "my doctor cut me off completely after years"
Is this what we should do to those in need? What do we think will happen if kratom is banned state by state till no one can obtain it for these purposes? I feel the answer is quite obvious, when we have a need we fill that void with the next best thing. The black market for illicit drugs will grow as a result, the death toll may rise sharply and our society is plunged into a hell never before witnessed up to this point.
We have to be considerate towards those who use it as medicine on a daily basis, imagine the improved quality of life for those using it for pain. How will their lives be impacted if kratom just disappears one day? We should be thoughtful towards those who truly need it, over regulating it harms people, banning it harms people. The best answer is to leave it alone.
American Kratom Association
The AKA American Kratom Association are advocates of kratom use and do what they can to educate, inform and lobby towards an all inclusive future for kratom and it's millions of users. Today they posted a couple tweets relating to regulation in the state of Mississippi and a full on ban in Georgia. Both are days apart from each other, now is the time for you to speak up and push back.
Mississippi Consumer Protection Act Bill 838
Georgia Kratom Ban Feb 13th, 2023 at 1pm
Conclusion
We need kratom, think of your mothers, fathers and grandparents who use it to improve their quality of life day to day. Without it what options will they have, are you going to be ok with watching your loved ones suffer day in and day out because of ignorant politicians who know little to nothing about the circumstances regarding kratom and it's benefits to people.

Shrooms For Depression
The growing interest in shrooms are exciting especially with more talks of legalizing it in some fashion. The likes of soccer mom's and regular ordinary people are using it more and more for anxiety or depression. I've even encouraged my wife to dabble a bit to help her own struggles.
Life is tough for sure and today's challenges are different from a century ago. Far different, thankfully we no longer need to fight to live physically but it's more so emotionally now. I have used psilocybin mushrooms for many years for the same reasons described,
Depression
Anxiety
Stress
Hopelessness
What I gained along the way was an understanding that life is tough, it's tough for everyone. We all cope differently, but here some things gained along the journey,
Clarity
Focus
Gratitude
Acceptance
Shrooms do work, it's been my mission to share it with the world.
Cannabis Taxation
We've all heard about the soon to be cannabis legalization on a state by state basis. This recent one is in Minnesota, the currently the discussion is surrounding taxation, some want 8% while the Governor is pushing for 15%.
I included a short clip of the Governor's response when asked about why he wants higher taxes on cannabis. His answer was short, didn't make much sense either. What I drew from it was they have a target amount of $100 Million annually they want to achieve. 15% would get them there, the added costs terms of paper work and licensing was cited to be one reason.
You may think 15% is reasonable but thats before sales tax, combined you have the perfect storm for illegal black markets to thrive. Heres more on this story
Opioids Replaced By Cannabis
I thought about this one for a bit, we have 10's of millions of people using opioids. The test group of 8k in New York showed a reduction by 50% without any disclosure of how that info was obtained. The test group showed over a month of cannabis use reduced their intake of opioids.
What I'm particularly outraged about was why kratom wasn't considered as an option for this study. When we compare the two, we know kratom works far better. We also know through the science that THC as a chemical does little for people in pain, if we account for the other cannabinoids combined we'd still be falling short in comparison.

What's The Hold Up
Here is my take on this situation, I posted over on twitter late last month prior to the holidays when I came across this news article showing that Fentanyl is flooding into the country, so much so that the quantities were enough to kill every single person in our country. I am appalled at the lack of action and more over disgusted by the constant criminalization of kratom or any nootropic that is non-fatal that can give people a reasonably safer alternative.
The question I keep coming back to is why is there so little done to combat this, it's not as if we are limited in resources or geo-political influence, the U.S. has many times before exerted it's influence in many parts of the world to get it's desired results. Why are we seeing little or no action in this area. So I ask the following questions quite often relating to this topic
Where Does It Originate
Can We Slap Sanctions On That Country
Why Are We Pretending We Have No Recourse
The Greater Issue
If policy makers are so adamant to criminalize kratom for it's potential for abuse then I say why, here is a non-fatal plant substance that has proven to work, why do we not want American's to have something that won't kill them. I feel this is a logical question to ask, when we know people seek out all types of illicit and dangerous substances to seek comfort from.
It's quite evident the drug problem is never going away, just as we have done in the judicial system to rectify the wrongs of the past with cannabis criminalization and have recognized as a society that some substances do not warrant such excessive criminal action why is it that kratom is still looked at as a threat. We have the opportunity to help individuals choose better alternatives but instead it appears the powers that be rather have you using heroin, opioids or fentanyl instead.
All of those substances eventually kill, how many people need to die before politicians acknowledge their participation of the perpetuation of illicit and dangerous drug use. Often policy makers know little to nothing about the circumstances of any situation, they maybe briefed but a short briefing will never provide a full picture of the situation. Laws are passed everyday by those who care less about what's in those laws and how it effects people.
It's clear and it should be to all of you that you are not the most important constituent to your local leader in office.

Legalizing Magic Mushrooms
It was about 2 weeks ago as the vote passed in the state of Colorado decriminalizing Psilocybin mushrooms. The Governor of the state was on a recent talk show with Bill Maher to discuss many things including the decision to pass this bill. Bill Maher asks "how are you involved with mushrooms" and the Governors reply was "no, not me personally". He quickly moved to thank U.S. Veterans for their service and began talking about the benefits of psilocybin therapy.
Though he didn't mention any details of any specific benefits, he did say that it has a lot of potential to be used for medicine or therapy. I myself am aware of the benefits as I've been using mushrooms for year. I have read too much to remember and have experienced similar results as others who have been vocal about theirs. We can see it's helping people when the conditions are just right for healing.
The Stats On Depression
An estimated 21.0 million adults in the United States had at least one major depressive episode. This number represented 8.4% of all U.S. adults.
The prevalence of major depressive episode was higher among adult females (10.5%) compared to males (6.2%).
The prevalence of adults with a major depressive episode was highest among individuals aged 18-25 (17.0%).
These figures are reported by the NIH, National Institute of Health here in the U.S. - Stats on Mental Illness 2020
Depression is just one out of many mental illnesses people are suffering from, there individuals who suffer from one or more of these symptoms creating conditions that are debilitating and only make it that much more difficult to recover from. Just from these numbers alone it's clear we have work to do, Colorado is just one state, in order to reach more people to help them we need a national movement.
My Experiences
Though my experiences can be said are unique to me and everyone's purpose is different, the outcome is virtually the same. We all want to feel better, as times get tougher all we can do is focus on survival. When survival is all you can do day in and day out how are you to ever recover from the painful struggles you face in your life. In essence the mushrooms can provide a way to sort your life out in the comfort of your own home, at your own pace.
I've used mushrooms for years now, the stories you hear about, the touted benefits, the medical research that supports it, well I am that story. There many others who became the test group voluntarily years before mushrooms became more accepted in the medical and science community.
All in all this is good news, accessibility and affordability are the most important variables for legalizing it. No patents needed here, the wonders of psilocybin has it all already.
Heres the article: Colorado Legalizes Psilocybin Mushrooms

What's The Difference
#1 question these days is what's the difference between Tianaa and all the other brands of blended tianeptine capsules on the market. As the popularity of the product increases the question becomes more and more prevalent so we must answer this to satisfy the curiosity. If your new to the topic and don't know what Tianaa or tianeptine is let's take a moment and give you a break down.
Tianaa is the first patented formula of tianeptine with other natural ingredients, people use it for many different reasons primarily for pain or anxiety. Tianeptine is a drug that comes in different chemical forms and has been used in Europe as an anti-depressant. Here is a list of the different forms that are known,
Tianeptine Sulfate
Tianeptine Sodium
Tianeptine Acid
The Blends
Almost all the variations out there are copy cats of the original formula patented by Tianaa the list of these are as follows
Tianaa
Za Za
Pegasus
TD
Tia Blue
There probably many others out there I have not discovered yet but all of them have one ingredient in common and that's tianeptine. There is also other natural ingredients found in these blends which most of them contain such as quadrangular leaf extract and piper methysticum, all of them have virtually the same ingredients so what is the difference then.
The Details
After years of trials and testing I have come to the conclusion that there can only be one major difference between them all and that is the type of tianeptine used and the amount in milligrams per capsule. The formulations are all proprietary meaning the manufacturer's do not have to disclose the amount of each ingredient used per capsule as that is considered a trade secret.
People always ask me which is stronger, which is better, which one do you use. I personally like Tianaa the most out of all of them it helps me with stress and anxiety as it does for so many. The question of which is stronger that is unknown and I've seen many people use all of them in rotation. Some prefer one over the rest and obviously it's all subject to personal needs or preference.
Conclusion
I believe that the only differentiating variable for all of them is the amount of tianeptine used per capsule and the form of tianeptine used all of which have a significant impact on strength.
Thanks for the ears, eyes and your time.

A common question that comes up often now a days as more people want to try this remarkable plant based solution called Kratom, as you know it's a plant or tree from Southeast Asia, Indonesia to be exact where it has grown for ages. It's effects have varied by the countless experiences provided by users and has shown in preclinical studies it's possible therapeutic benefits.
In this case we are going to help you discover what each of these kratom strains can do as they have done for millions of people to date. You may have heard that using this plant may help ease chronic pain or may help with easing anxiety. Many of those stories are true but finding just the right strain can be a hurdle for some people.
The top strains known for nearly a decade are Red Vein, White Vein, Green Vein and Maeng Da. These have existed for some time now but you may have seen several others over the last couple years for example Yellow Vein, Gold or even blended kratom like Red Maeng Da. If your unsure which of these is right for you then keep reading.
Many of the strains have one consistent property that everyone has noted and thats energy in low doses but if your seeking pain relief properties or multiple different properties combined you may need to experiment in low doses to find just the right strain.
Kratom Strains And Reported Effects
Red Vein has long been known for it's soothing properties and pain relieving effects with some energy in low doses. It's commonly used for pain and or anxiety it's important to note that 99% of people who try a Red Vein Kratom do experience some level of relief. A bit of dosage adjustment you can find just the right amount. Individual Results Vary
Maeng Da mainly known for it's euphoric mind and body effect it's been a long standing favorite of millions of people who report multiple remarkable properties when using it. Specifically a nice blend of pain relief, mood enhancing euphoria that lasts hours and wonderful calming effect. Individual Results Vary
White Vein is definitely the most stimulating based on the reports of numerous users, it offers an unrivaled mind and body euphoria with the added kick of stimulation similar to coffee but way better. Individual Results Vary
Green Vein I have seen a varied compilation of reports with this one over the years, for some it offers a well balanced blend of energy, pain relief and feeling of wellness or calm all wrapped into one strain and for others it does one of those effects really well but thats it. Individual Results Vary
Conclusion
There several factors to take into account freshness is one, brand though not as important you should take note of this and consistency of each batch. Many people report inconsistency in unnamed brands or bulk kratom sold online. You should always keep notes of your usage and experiences to reflect on the effectiveness of any kratom strain you use, it'll help quantify in words how well it's working so keep notes folks.
Thanks for the ears, eyes and your time.

Death By Kratom Extract The Recent Overdose Explained

Kratom News Today
What Is Kratom Alkaloid Toxicity and why did it lead to a young man's overdose last December. The top headline in kratom news today is covering the recent wrongful death lawsuit brought by Ethan Pope's parents seeking justice from manufacturers and distributors for selling this plant. Last December Ethan Pope was found dead on his kitchen floor, it is unknown who had found him the day he overdosed but toxicology reports indicate he had high levels of Mitragynine and no other substances were detected.
Kratom has been used for years by millions with little incident, many use it for anxiety and some for pain but it's primarily gained traction for opioid abuse as a replacement. Though we haven't seen anything too alarming from the use of this plant this marks the eighth case where someone died with nothing else in their system.
They don't know how long their son had been using kratom, but he must have been experiencing adverse effects, Dana Pope said at a news conference Thursday. In his apartment, they found a to-do list with one task that stuck out: Stop taking kratom. There so many unanswered questions such as why was he using extract and not leaf, or better yet how long had he been using it for and more over did he understand what he was using or was it something he was turned on to randomly. It's important that people know the difference between leaf and extract and which is best for them
Some of these questions may help to identify ways to prevent this from ever happening again, education is probably one of the most important aspects to using any supplement. Typically a natural plant substance can be harmless but in concentrated forms with volume it can become dangerous. Kratom extracts aren't made for the average person and no one should use it daily though yes people do. There's no telling where this case will lead but there has been some data on kratom related deaths over the years.
The Data
So the U.S. health officials said in a report released in 2019 that kratom was a cause in 91 overdose deaths in 27 states. While most of those who died had also taken heroin, fentanyl or other drugs, kratom was the only substance detected in seven of the deaths.
Another 2019 study found that calls to U.S. poison control centers about kratom skyrocketed more than 50-fold, from 13 calls in 2011 to 682 calls in 2017.
The truth is there many substances legal and otherwise with much higher overdose rates when comparing it to kratom, so is it safe or not, the answer is split. Using leaf itself in small amounts has proven to be beneficial for many people, extracts on the other hand require more caution and research. I myself use extract once or twice a week for anxiety and it works so I don't abuse it, was Ethan abusing liquid extract?
Thanks for the ears, eyes and your time.

Understanding The Mis-Information Around The Kratom Ban

Kratom News Today
Many states have considered regulating kratom over the years with many more in discussion. Some have gone as far as mislabeling it and banning the plant based substance with fears surrounding it's potential for abuse. I want to discuss the facts around the ban, the mis-information used to push a specific narrative and help those who are curious about it by distinguishing differences between facts versus the scary story produced to the public.
There still millions yet to discover kratom a southeast Asian plant or tree, it has some genetic traits of coffee and has shown to help people with a multitude of use cases. Recently as of a day or two ago another state has unanimously voted to ban kratom prohibiting the sale of it within state lines, I'm talking about Mississippi. The reasons sited for the ban were potential for abuse, literally 1 death claimed by the voting panel and it's addictive possibilities in excessive users. Though this would be a cause for concern when involving death however the information behind the death does not indicate anything substantial relating to kratom.
Throughout the history of it's use here in the states clearly shows us that if it were truly an issue we would have seen far more deaths. No death is acceptable however we have seen that all deaths supposedly tied to kratom have shown in the coroner reports that these individuals had many other substances in their system at the time of death and all those substances are in fact deadly.
I can say this much, kratom for a long time was considered a substitute for individuals struggling with opioid addiction or heroin addiction. Often times I've seen some go back and forth, for those who have died in these kratom related reports all of them had all substances in their system. It's difficult from a scientific perspective to definitively say it was all related to kratom, that would be biased don't you think.
The recent ban is another in a multi state push and to date we are currently at six total states who have banned it. The biased needs to stop, if we are to acknowledge that kratom was in someone's system at the time of death and disregard other substances then we are effectively saying science as a whole is whatever they say it is. Tell me is that a world you want to live in, truth must be at the for front of every discussion no matter what.
Thanks for the ears, eyes and your time.

Cannabis News Today top headline of the day is student's at a middle school in Virginia state get super baked on Delta 8 Edibles hospitalizing one.
Here are some of the details of this story along with my 2 cents on the matter. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue and police officers were called to the school in Clifton shortly after 12:30 p.m. Thursday. 7 students were identified to be under the influence as they exhibited symptoms from their use of Delta 8 THC gummies.
Symptoms included dizziness, vomiting and slurred speech. One child was hospitalized and the rest discharged to their parents or guardians. This brings up the obvious, even with restrictions in place like age limits for all kinds of substances alcohol included underage kids still get their hands on them. Why is it we don't see that age limits work to a degree but something greater needs to supersede it such as education.
Many of us depending on your age experienced the DARE program which used a combination of fear and education to steer kids away from substances, however we now know it's not that effective. My take on the situation as I've given so much thought is that a well built foundation of trust and moral ethics at home and a thorough education on basic biology would be a good starter. These 2 could be the link that have been overlooked.
Now many of us have heard of stories of the perfect family, kids are well raised, respectful and kind. All around covers the idea of a healthy home life between parents and their children. Some how we still see some of those kids from those perfect families end up using a substance. Is it because home life is destructive, no not that, is it because the kids were poorly raised, nope not that either. Often these are interesting cases to look at because it can show us the other perspective one that breaks the generic mold of drug use and abuse.
It shows us that sometimes people use substances out of curiosity. Why do we do or use anything in this world, generally because it makes us feel good. This would be a great place to start teaching kids how their brains and body work and why they seek a specific stimulation. Addiction and the current medical understanding of it needs to be re-evaluated in my opinion to at the least acknowledge that there's a strong biological connection to using any substance.
Thanks for the ears, eyes and your time

The News
Some of the top cannabis news now that was of interest to me today were the concerns raised by many regarding the rescheduling of cannabis. A concern that made me think about it again and again. I realize that perhaps sounding the horn on this maybe due to the fact that decriminalization should be the only approach considered. There's a vast difference between the two, let me explain
If the government decides to reschedule cannabis it means they'll continue to control it under a new set of rules compared to the old ones.
If the government decides to decriminalize nationwide it gives freedom to a plant that has long been considered a controlled substance and we all know it's not nearly as terrible as it has been made out to be.
There is a distinct advantage one has over the other so with this perspective I understand the concerns.
Top headline today, cannabis to be sold at Circle K gas stations starting next year, an agreement between Green Thumb and Circle K brings medical cannabis to Florida residents to increase accessibility and deliver convenience. Such an initiative is to be expected by large company's who are foaming at the mouth waiting to get in some way some how.
You can read more here Cannabis Sold At Circle K
I mention some of the benefits of a move like this but also mention some of the dangers it will likely bring such as increased crime much like the recent story out of Southern California regarding a smash and grab at a dispensary. This isn't the first nor last and over time these types of crimes may increase as accessibility grows.
The industry is maturing, this is the obvious next step and from there where we end up no one can say for sure. Read more about this story here Dispensary Robbed
Finally new research emerges concerning professionals of the psychosis people are exhibiting when dabbing concentrates, the numbers are growing and the data suggests high THC isn't so great after all. Especially when the most important parts of cannabis are non existent in concentrates such as CBD these issues are likely to get out of hand.

My goal is to help people see the same. Medicine is how we eat, think, feel, our relationships and the list continues. There’s no one pill solution." Integrative Medicine is a form of medical therapy that combines practices and treatments from alternative medicine with conventional medicine.
Heres an example:
Integrative medicine can help people who have symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety and pain. It can help people deal with conditions such as cancer, headaches and fibromyalgia. Examples of common practices include: Acupuncture
The Issue
Many of you have or know someone who are constantly being prescribed something and for some of them it's multiple prescriptions. We've been well conditioned to accept treatments but what if I said there was a better way long before you ever require medications to live a healthy life. There far too many Americans who accept treatment at face value long as they feel better right. Now there is a way to dive deeper into the causes rather than long term treatment of symptoms.
Theres no doubt in my mind that Dr. Andarcia is on the right path to helping people kick medications by identifying the route causes of illness. In her words "we are constantly exposed to chemicals and the accumulation of the exposure long term is manifesting serious symptoms in people". We need to understand what we can do for ourselves to be able to stay healthy a big contributor is education and podcasts like this one. She told me in her words, "during residency I was baffled and upset to see so many people with illnesses in their later lives all for the most part may have been preventable with this type of approach".

Happiness, Fulfillment and Mental Health Today
What does happiness or fulfillment mean to you, as the world readjusts to the shifting narratives of what is truth and what is lie we are faced with a giant hurdle. This hurdle is mental health and with me today I have Dr. Nicole Bradford to discuss what it's like to come into this world with nothing but to own it and make it exciting, fun and fulfilling.
You ever wonder what happened to that spark you had as a kid. The feeling of possibility or excitement that ran through you every day. If you do then your not alone, I too have wondered this because I myself have held on to that feeling as an adult. I'm not perfect at times I too have depression, anxiety, stress and I too worry of the uncertain future. However I try to always get back to the state of mind that I held as a kid, endless possibilities to achieving whatever I set my mind to.
While doing so if your lucky you may happen to discover your self perhaps for the very first time in your life. As you learn about this part of your being you then can begin to define happiness and what fulfillment means to you. Dr. Bradford and I discuss in great length the struggles of young adults and the burdens of adults today as we all navigate our lives in the many different masks we wear day to day and from person to person.
The Illness
At this moment in history we have alarming numbers of mental illness ranging from different age groups and being as high as 20% of the population. According to Mental Health America a non-profit organization the stats are out and it's showing us that in 2022 this crisis is the next major battle for the U.S. Founded in 1909 by Clifford W. Beers, Mental Health America (MHA) is the nation's leading community-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those living with mental illness and promoting the overall mental health of all.
The key findings for 2022 and moving into 2023 show us the following data regarding the state of Americans nationwide
In 2019-2020, 20.78% of adults were experiencing a mental illness. That is equivalent to over 50 million Americans.
The vast majority of individuals with a substance use disorder in the U.S. are not receiving treatment. 15.35% of adults had a substance use disorder in the past year. Of them, 93.5% did not receive any form of treatment.
Millions of adults in the U.S. experience serious thoughts of suicide, with the highest rate among multiracial individuals. The percentage of adults reporting serious thoughts of suicide is 4.84%, totaling over 12.1 million individuals. 11% of adults who identified with two or more races reported serious thoughts of suicide in 2020 – 6% higher than the average among all adults.
More on these stats can be found here at MHA

The Episode
Cannabis is pretty much every where now, in every major city you can think of and even little towns all across the nation. This can be the cannabis your familiar with or the hemp derived cannabis that has been recently added to the mix. What if I told you legalization was never for you or I, yes we'll benefit by the consumption but there is a bigger picture to take a look at. That's what we're going to do with Ben Austin in today's episode.
It wasn't always like this cannabis used to be more like medicine because it was originally legalized as medicine. Over the years the large interests have moved in and with it came a whole new product line. Ben and I have been involved with cannabis, it's derivatives and as activists for many many years. We have seen and experienced the many changes we will talk about and with it point out some serious issues associated with them.
There's a flood of interest as legalization looms over the nation but no one is pointing out the obvious, why now. To begin to understand why now is the best time we have to take a closer look at the past and follow the money. It is the main driving force that has built an enormous amount of momentum to date and is ready to consume everything in it's path.
Understanding The Issues
Cannabis works like magic, over the years we have seen countless stories and evidence that suggests we are still missing large pieces of the puzzle in that we don't know enough about how it works. Stories go back to the early years of Rick Simpson Oil or RSO who famously rid himself of cancer using a cannabinoid recipe, you may have heard of this as it garnered so much attention. While we know all this and more we continuously see the over commercialization of the industry, many who were small participants were forced out using regulation and compliance measures.
The large entities now have incredible room to grow and swallow up market share with little or no resistance. The result in just a few years has shown that what used to be medicine is now no more useful than opioids. We see this directly with the genetic manipulation of the cannabis crops, there isn't any dominant strains left, everything is a hybrid and more importantly whats missing is the medicine the cannabinoids.
It goes deeper when we look at how grow ops have established themselves in multiple angles of industry, from cultivation, to lab testing to extraction. We really don't know for sure how many conflicts of interest exist in this cluster fuck of special interests.
There many issues these are just a few we spoke about but we discussed quite a bit in this hour and half long episode.
Thanks for the ears, eyes and your time.

Have you ever wondered if your mind, body or spirit are operating at peak performance, there many limitations in life but what if some are triggered by your neurology. This is the greater question in today's episode as we uncover a little more on how the brain and neuroplasticity work. Hacking your own brain might seem crazy but it holds the keys and answers to your overall health and well being so don't be afraid and come along for the ride.
Understanding your limitations are a good start to discover ways to remove those barriers. We all live turbulent lives some more than others but our neuro chemistry work in similar ways. The human body has multiple sources for interpreting input from external stimuli the main one being your eyes, all powered by the brain.
Today I'm speaking with Jessica Foster a Neuro Performance Coach her job is to help people understand the nature and source of all pain and discomfort. We discuss much of the work she does for herself and her needs as well as the work she has performed on others as well. The information she shares with people provide a different lens to view their struggles in hopes that it may open the door to exploration.
Jessica has studied the complex nature of the brain and the nervous system for 10 years with a degree in biology she has taken a new approach on the scientific method to include aspects of cognitive performance. Her experiences while studying to become a Neuro Performance Coach showed her that there infinite possibilities for achieving a healthier you day in and day out.
We all suffer from some kind of pain, discomfort or difficulty day to day, but what if there was something you could do now at home that can be used again and again to target areas of concern.

There many plants on this planet we may never discover, the cost of exploration then research is far too high. I recall in a podcast Neil Tyson the famous astrophysicist had said 9 times out of 10 if we consumed a random plant out in the wilderness there's a good chance it may get us high.
However on the other hand how many of those could also be used in a medicinal manner. That is the greater question for today's episode where the great healer of Casa Galactica Michael Thornhill joins me to discuss the recent changes he and his cofounder have made to their awesome Ayahuasca Retreat Center. Along the way we will discuss the benefits of exploring plant medicines such as Ayahuasca to aid in healing deep trauma in the body, the mind and the spirit.
I personally wanted to learn more about the methods he uses, the plants themselves he never mentions out loud I guess that can be considered proprietary information too closely tied to how the retreat performs and provides for it's clients but I can't help but wonder.
Also another curiosity was whether or not there is any ongoing research and development using the plants within the jungle.
There were some interesting points in this episode that I'm glad we touched up on, one where Michael discusses a specific individuals experience at his retreat recently. This person was suffering from cancer, what type I don't recall perhaps it's in the episode but the methods he introduced to help cleanse this person's body along with the plant medicines he offered had sent the cancer into remission.
I know it sounds like a miracle because cancer is one of the most difficult illnesses to treat in western medicine. According to Michael by the time her stay was over and she flew back home she had discovered the cancer was non existent. I asked him to elaborate on the specific methods used to help treat her and from what I recall there were several parts to it. From the physical to the emotional down to the very food consumed while at the retreat all touched up on areas that helped this person heal from within.
What is important to note based on what Michael had said was though it went into remission it can always come back if this person reverts back to the life styles that contributed to the illness.
It's always great to have Michael Thornhill on the show to discuss the many things that plague people today. He and his cofounder were the first to point out whatever the illness there's a plant for that.

Sleep is very important for the mind, in this episode Dr. Lucinda Sykes discusses the many complexities of sleep from the mind to the brain and the chemicals in between. We all suffer at times from sleepless nights, tossing and turning only to just lay there staring at the ceiling. It turns out this issue with sleep only gets worse as you get older. You see Dr. Sykes has studied for years the related causes for sleeplessness in women over 50.
The older you get the harder it becomes to get a full nights rest, in her words the medical community thought this to be normal but has recently discovered it's not the case. Less sleep specifically less than 6 hours a night habitually causes serious changes in the chemistry of your brain. Over time the evidence suggests this lack of a full nights rest in those over 50 leads to Dementia and other illnesses associated with the brain.
Dr. Sykes was kind enough to share a study done on 8000 people in Europe, it was there they discovered that those with poor sleeping habits over time had increased the likely hood of Dementia symptoms by 30% which is huge. This may require more study and research but the figure of 30% is quite compelling to say the least. Perhaps one day we can eradicate such a disease like Dementia
There's quite a bit of information online regarding sleep and it's importance for the brain as well as the body. We talk in great length about it's importance but also discussed the issues with medication for sleep, the reality is using any chemicals to solve your immediate problems may ultimately do more harm than good. Dr. Sykes spoke about the intricate relationship between sleep, the chemicals they product naturally and how medications disrupt the natural homeostasis of what the brain does all on it's own.
We further delved into the topic of sleep and sleep aid supplements such as cannabis or CBN cannabinoids a derivative of cannabis which has grown in popularity recently. Evidence continues to suggest that it's better to have a healthy relationship with cannabis or cannabinoids as even those change your brain chemistry. They may help for a while but when they don't it's the direct indicator that you may have used it too much.
The bottom line is you should get more sleep, as Dr. Sykes puts it cultivate better habits for your sleep now so that when you get older and above 50 you would have saved yourself from those increased odds of Dementia.

In today's cannabis news now episode there policy changes that have come to pass just this Sunday here in the state of California that puts an end to drug screening of THC or cannabis. This change brings forth a new era of acceptance to cannabis use. The Bill is aimed to remove all decision making when it comes to hiring and firing of workers who consume cannabis products when clocked out of work.
It's clear the Golden state is progressively implementing huge changes that are more lenient towards cannabis use versus the recent Bill he vetoed which attempted to bring more safe drug spaces where users of heroin and fentanyl can safely get high without risking overdose. This decision marks California as the seventh state to implement such a change to the cannabis laws.

In a recent gathering of world powers the President of Columbia took aim at the drug wars which have gone on for half a century with millions of lives impacted by the actual use or abuse of the substances, the associated health risks, death and the obvious life ruining criminal charges. He said publicly in Spanish "Democracy is at great risk if the world powers do not end the war on drugs and approach it with a new strategy" we'll see if it materializes in any way though it'll take time.

The psychedelic reforms are continuing across the nation with yet another city in Georgia. Law makers suggested a decriminalization approach of psilocybin mushrooms ending for good the wasted resources of law enforcement on targeting innocent people. In this episode I include the testimonials of 2 people who were present at the discussions in Atlanta, Georgia advocating for such a policy change.

The state of medicine is dire, we have spent billions on treating people for decades. The result is the same, people are still sick. Suffering from a multitude of physical and mental illnesses all of which continues to be dragged on with no end.
People conform and accept their illnesses and for some it may be serious enough that it may be the case forever. However for most there could be better treatment options, ones that can begin to heal not just treat.
Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you the perspectives of The Therapy Twins, 2 sisters who had once embraced modern medicine. Presently they are critical of the system and are using the power of voice to speak out. In this episode we discuss so much around what they have experienced in the world of health care providers including mental health.
The stories they share can be at times frightening, cringy or downright wrong as they describe the difficulties of navigating the system as providers to sharing the horrific story's of their patients with deep traumas (no names mentioned per doctor/patient privilege).
Personally I enjoyed speaking with them, they weren't on the show to sell their book or pump their brand but you can find their podcast here. It felt sincere, as the conversation continued to dive deeper into other topics you can hear and see the passion in their voice, twin sisters who each of them in their own right brought thoughtful insights and facts to The Daily Dose to help you the reader, listener or watcher perspectives on the current state of America's healthcare system, whether it be for physical ailments or psychological ones it's clear we have a serious problem if we don't make an effort as consumers to change.
All intentions start and end with the bottom line, if consumers understood the power they held then perhaps we would bring about a change to not just the healthcare system but for the wellness and prosperity for all people.
Thank you so so much for reading, listening or watching please if you haven't like and sub.

Since cannabis is pretty much every where now would it be fair to consider it the same as alcohol in child wellfare cases?
This is specifically aimed at parents of young children who smoke cannabis. For years many of us hid in silence in fear of losing our jobs or worse a visit from social services checking up on your kids. We all seek comfort from something, when I compare the two clearly to me anyway cannabis is far better. It is known that alcohol is truly far more destructive than most substances in the world. Saying they are the same isn't fair but considering how it's in the context of societal norms sure I'll take it as a win for all parents who just need some weed.
The article talks about our Governor Gavin Newsom passing a bill this past Tuesday mandating that all social services workers are to treat cannabis the same as alcohol in cases where children are involved.
Source #1: Marijuana Moment
Next up we have safe drug use sites and on this one Gavin Newsom vetoed it citing concerns over more wide spread use of illegal substances. Right now the state of California has been seeing a spike in overdose cases and this Bill was designed to help those who want to use street drugs to do it in a safe place where overdosing would be a thing of the past.
These sites have medical staff on hand in case anything goes wrong, on an NPR episode a guest of theirs who shared their experiences with these safe spaces said "I use Fentanyl, I've overdosed multiple times and was revived every time. Perhaps this is the concern that was expressed by the Governor, with no more consequence people would certainly abuse that luxury too.
What is the correct decision is up for debate you decide for yourself and vote.

Millions of people worldwide suffer from sleepless nights, night after night, the options are typical you have Melatonin a chemical found in plants but also found in the brains of animals. Melatonin is known to regulate sleep and wake cycles in animals but for people theres little research found. If your one of these individuals suffering with sleepless nights, runaway thoughts and have tried either Melatonin or Ambien you know these may not be as effective as you'd like also considering the Ambien can be habit forming with a multitude of other symptoms long term.
I've noticed that with Melatonin the general doses are low and it's costs can be quite high if you need higher amounts to begin regulating your sleep cycles. There are the obvious things you can do which is exercise, eat better and try numerous other dietary supplements but what if I told you a little known compound which has worked forever on people is now available to you, would you try it. I know some would jump for the opportunity to try something anything that could help alleviate their insomnia.
This little known Cannabinoid is and has always been right in front of our face it's called CBN and is known to help improve sleep in people. The reason we know it's been known to help people is because it was one of the many cannabinoids found in cannabis but the difference here is that CBN does not have psychoactive effects in small doses nor does it show on any drug screenings for work related purposes.
What is more fascinating about this is that when we had medical cannabis all the cannabinoids were in the cannabis we purchased for medicine, when smoked the CBN is activated and it commonly known to us stoners as burnout but we just didn't understand back then that it was actually a naturally occurring compound that promotes sleep, well now we know and after six months of trials I can say it's highly effective, non habit forming and a great natural alternative.

Welcome back everyone,
most don't know or understand exactly why kratom has been an issue in our country for years now, the reality in today's episode is that the FDA and it's perspective is flawed in the stance it has taken with kratom an herbal supplement used for energy and for others pain management, the plant comes from Indonesia specifically a place called Borneo an area of the country that it's grown for a long time.
There are more states or cities/county's that have banned it and continue to push for a stricter control on it's use, many don't know but it has gone as far as credit card company's, like the one in your wallet (Visa, MC, Amex) etc have also banned anyone in the business of kratom effectively controlling how you can purchase, pay and obtain it.
Though there many more states that have had a more lenient approach I have an example of a recent announcement from Parish, Louisiana where they have determined it was in their best interest to ban it. It comes a year or two after a young man in his late 20's was found dead from an overdose, in his possession was some kratom, the detectives are still investigating the death.
At the same time we also have states like Wisconsin who banned in 2014 reversing years later as their own Chair of Controlled Substance Board Member has claimed to want to study it further while working on pealing back a decades old piece of legislation.
All this shows us that kratom is misunderstood, now in this episode I make a relative comparison between kratom and cannabis both being plants and both having some of the same hurdle of dosing this is where I take the position that kratom is being targeted differently though cannabis has gone through decades of prohibition it doesn't mean we should pursue the same outcome for kratom based on fear. Let me say this cannabis for a long time even under legal frameworks was never targeted by the FDA the way kratom has been and when you compare the two based on the face value of the FDA's position then we can conclude that yes both can be considered inconsistent terms of proper dosing for an individual.

Should Legal Weed Have THC Limits: Today's Daily Dose
Today's Daily Dose is sponsored by
Grassdoor.com cannabis delivered fast SAVE 40% OFF Your Entire Purchase USE CODE: DAILY @ Checkout.
Welcome back everyone today's cannabis news now brings us this idea that THC should have limits on it's strength but I'd like to offer another perspective on the matter.
The idea that long term use of cannabis at these very high strengths is the direct cause of the symptoms associated with what the test groups have reported is what I'd like to argue against to show that perhaps there maybe another element to this that can shed a little more light on why some are experiencing symptoms such as;
Vomitting
psychoses
Depression
and more.
What was mentioned in the article is that these have been reported by individuals under the age of 20 and with long term chronic use. I first ask why just that group, is there any other age group in there, but sadly couldn't find data on it but I question why would we just focus on that small group to conclude that the suggestion of capping strength is a prudent one.
Furthermore I do know of a couple of instances where this has happened, here in California edibles were capped to 500mg when they used to be 1000mg and in the state of Vermont who put a cap on flower at 30% and concentrates at 60%.
My point is that there is something missing in all of this cannabis whether it be flower or concentrate, I feel the critical piece of the puzzle to address the issues with some of these symptoms are the naturally occurring cannabinoids found on cannabis flower, or used to be found I should say.

The psychedelic revolution has begun or perhaps I should say reignited once again in our society, it's true that millions are in desperate need of something else to relieve their troubles the usual prescriptions have left a substantial group of people behind due to being ineffective in some. Though it's great that it has worked for many but the few in this case many millions of people just here in the states have found themselves hopeless to ever find a solution to raise their quality of life.
So the revolution has been kickstarted with average people like you and I, pioneers in a gray area many would not venture for fear of the unknown or worse fear of ridicule. We have seen the last several years open many doors for those seeking plant medicines for mental health purposes, psychs have been the talk of the town because the results have been remarkable so much so that studies around the country and the world are leaning in for the first time.
One of the many plant medicines utilized for mental health has been Ayahuasca a ceremonial brew used for thousands of years in South America. In this clip the CEO of Casa Galactica breaks down what you should know before diving into a ceremonial retreat and what Casa Galactica's process is like for trauma informed care.

Welcome everyone if you have been hearing about the benefits of magic mushrooms lately then your not alone, you see I've spent the last 5 years not only using magic mushrooms but I've been documenting my results as well. For many people the perception is that if it's illegal then it's not suitable, effective or even safe but I wanted to break that perception once and for all with the many videos I've produced over the years.
Yes you've heard that psilocybin mushrooms can help with depression, anxiety, PTSD, hopelessness and so much more. It is transforming people's lives just like it did for me in a way never thought possible. What do I mean, well traditionally any one of these symptoms were treated long term trying to alter your brains chemicals but mushrooms though it does something similar it happens to last much longer as users have reported, traditional treatments are typically forever.
So can it be true that the effects are permanent for some, the answer is yes and the studies on people are showing it. I guess the first question some may ask is what is magic mushrooms, well it has a name and its not magic mushrooms in short
Psilocybin, the primary hallucinogenic compound in magic mushrooms is a psychedelic drug that's been used for more than 10,000 years in various spiritual and medical rituals. Experiences can vary, but people report altered perceptions of time and space, feelings of euphoria, and a contemplative, dream-like state.
Many people worldwide still don't have access and the studies are progressing but some what slow some day soon we may see it prescribed and hopefully unaltered to the benefit of the drug makers of the world through the use of patents.
In this episode I want to share the number 1 lesson I gained almost immediately dosing shrooms within the first few months, though it may seem silly or obvious but the bottom line is most of our behaviors are unconscious and not obvious at all to the average person day to day.
