Who Needs a Summer Body When Floaty Pants Exist
I hated wearing floaties as a kid. They're so bulky and don't feel comfy. Fast forward to adulthood, and I'm complaining about life jackets cramping my style at the lake. I know, I'm pitiful. The only flotation device that I'm all in for is Floaty Pants.
Floaty Pants is a life jacket, but for your bottom. Stay safe, but in style. Floaty Pants come in seven different styles, but the sexy thong is definitely a favorite of mine. Why put in the work for a beach body when you can just put on these Floaty Pants? Work smarter, not harder.
The flotation device is easy to put on. Step in, buckle up, and relax in the water with a cold beer in hand. Floaty Pants made sure to keep comfort in mind. They're made from soft, water-resistant nylon fabric covering. There's even a neoprene crotch to reduce chaffing!
Family photos are going to be hilarious this summer. Be sure to get Dad in the Maui Man float. Maui Man and Ab Man have a pretty nice set of abs! His "dad bod" days are over. (As long as he keeps the float on.)
You can get the Floaty Pants in a medium or a large. Medium is for adults 100-170 pounds, and large is best for adults 170-300+ pounds. Need these in the next couple of days? No worries, they're Amazon Prime eligible.
Check out the customer reviews while you're at it. A customer left a five-star review and said, "I floated for 4 hours with no issues or pain or discomfort - perfect for drinking and partying in the water - I wore them on the lake with decent waves."
So, which pair are you sporting? The American flag pants would be perfect for the 4th! Everyone at the swimming pool is going to ask where you got your Floaty Pants from.
Have fun this summer, be safe, and check out Walmart for all of your pool games, pool floats, and inflatable slides.

Robin Williams’ Son Honors His Father With New Mental Health Organization
Zak Williams, son of the legendary Robin Williams, is honoring his father’s legacy by creating a new mental health organization, called Inseparable. The mental health awareness organization is said to help all Americans by ensuring they can get access to mental health care, especially now during the coronavirus pandemic.
After the beloved Mrs. Doubtfire actor passed in 2014 after suffering from Lewy Body Dementia, a type of brain disease that affects one’s thinking, memory, and movement control, his son made it a point to help those in similar situations and became an advocate for mental health. Lewy Body Dementia is the second-most common type of progressive dementia after Alzheimer’s disease.
Zak did admit admitted to suffering from depression and several mental health struggles but has fought to stay away from drugs and alcohol while attending support groups to continue with his healthy lifestyle. The actor’s son also noted how important it was to receive support from his family during this time. He stated, “eating well, committing to a healthy lifestyle. Things that I need in my weekly and daily regimen to better support my wellbeing.” In 2019, Zak and his fiancée Olivia June gave birth to a baby boy, honoring his late father by naming him McLaurin Clement Williams. McLaurin was Robin Williams’ middle name and Robin’s mother’s surname.
The CEO opened about being an Advisory Board Member for Inseparable, stating, “The coronavirus pandemic has brought light to a parallel pandemic that’s happening. We are experiencing it as a direct result of the pandemic… a shared trauma that’s becoming quite acute as a result of everything that people have been through both in terms of the devastating economic effects, the isolation, and a lot of circumstances from communities.”
The mental health advocate continued to say that instead of becoming isolated, finding resentment, and getting angry about it, we as humans need to find solutions and opportunities to band together and find the resources to change on a system’s level. With Father’s Day around the corner, Zak, his sister Zelda, 30, and Cody, 28, are expecting to honor the late actor by remembering his life and his work on and off the screen.

The Flophouze Hotel is a Quirky Texas Inn Made of Shipping Containers
The Flophouze Hotel in Round Top, Texas that is made up entirely of yes, shipping containers! Because Airbnb’s are so overrated! Basically, the hotel transforms recycled shipping containers into a unique lodging solution. All the photos on their website pretty much yell Pinterest. Owner Matt White came up with the idea after wanting to recycle old containers, which is why his crew from Recycling The Past created the new concept.
Each container is uniquely decorated with sustainably harvested wood from their family in Upstate New York and reclaimed lumber from a distillery in Kentucky. To capture that beautiful Texas sunrise and sunset, they made it a point to install windows salvaged from a school in Philadelphia that was set to be demolished.
So yes, this is truly all recyclable material, which makes it even better. But wait, there’s more! The kitchen cabinet bases are from a laboratory in Brooklyn and the countertops are used from old bowling alley floors in Texas. The floors are original to the container and the walls are covered with vintage artifacts such as rugs, arts, and figures that are gleaned from their travels across the world to find the perfect pieces to create the container.
Each contender, called HOUZE, offers you a unique and relaxing place to say. Each one includes its own hammock, fire pit, Wifi, and chairs to relax and watch the famous Round Top sunset. The hotel currently has six Flophouze’s and includes everything from complimentary tea, coffee, Topo Chico, and Mexican cokes.
Which you know are better than American cokes! There is also a market for goodies and light snacks you can buy for your stay. Rates for the shipping container hotel start at $175, and every eco-chic HOUZE is complete with a living room, kitchen, and a bathroom. As far as amenities, you can relax and enjoy some swimming and fishing in the Fayette Lake right around the corner or right outside your room in your own private shipping container pool. So what do you say? Down for a weekend getaway in Texas?

Bob Dylan’s First Single in 8 Years Was a 17-Minute Song About JFK
The entirety of the world was shocked when United States President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas, in 1963. Rumors swirled, an investigation was underway, suspects were apprehended and everyone else, naturally, mourned. It looked different for everybody.
Bob Dylan hasn’t written an original song since the Tempest in 2012, though you can still catch the famed singer-songwriter on tour singing his hits. But apparently, something’s been on his mind for a while now. He tells us exactly what that is in his new 17-MINUTE song. “Murder Most Foul” is his longest song to date. Prior, his longest song was “Highlands” which clocks in at 16 minutes, 31 seconds, shorter than “Murder Most Foul” by about twenty seconds or so. The topic? The assassination of President John F. Kennedy on that fateful day.
He released the new song via Twitter, reading, "Greetings to my fans and followers with gratitude for all your support and loyalty over the years. This is an unreleased song we recorded a while back that you might find interesting. Stay safe, stay observant and may God be with you." Bob Dylan brings us a reminder that even the most painful events can be put poetically. The Nobel Prize winner beautifully meshes art with conspiracy theories.
He blames the death of President Kennedy on a conspiracy theory. He also weaves multiple pop-culture references. From Woodstock, The Beatles, Nat King Cole, Stevie Nicks, Patsy Cline but also Lee Harvey Oswald, one of the assumed murders of JFK, who claimed: “I’m just a patsy.”
There were also dozens of other songs and artists mentioned in the song and takes on the perspective of JFK himself and mention of the bad luck that the Kennedy family has faced since his death. The line is unmissable and tragic, “we’ll get them as well.” Sonically, “Murder Most Foul” is gentle compared to the topic. With piano, the violin present takes the listener through the biggest moments of the sixties and seventies.

Get the Baby Wipes Ready, ‘Sh*t the Bed Hot Sauce’ Will Leave You On the Toilet for Hours
The second I get to a Tex-Mex restaurant, I douse my chips in salt and salsa. But if the hot sauce is too hot, I just settle for a tortilla with butter (and a margarita). Why? Because I'm way too chicken for any hot sauce that's going to make my stomach feel anything less than perfect. If you love your hot sauce scorching, you're insane, but I'm challenging you to try 'Shit The Bed Hot Sauce.'
Bunsters is the company behind Shit The Bed Hot Sauce. The hot sauce is loaded with Himalayan pink salt, bird's eye peppers, Trinidad Scorpion peppers, and Tibetan Goji berries. Just reading "scorpion" lets me know to stay away from this stuff. I have white sheets, I can't risk it.
Bunsters hot sauce originates from Australia. It measures around 35,000 on the Scoville Scale, which is the measurement for how spicy a chili pepper is. For reference, a jalapeño can be anywhere from 2,000-8,000 in heat units.
Yeah, this sounds 10 times hotter than Tobasco sauce for sure. The hot sauce is also infused with lime juice, apple cider vinegar, coconut sugar, and orange juice. The yummy flavor won't get lost in the scorpion chillies. You can visit Amazon for the hot sauce. Customer reviews are hilarious.
Get your baby wipes ready. Maybe some hemorrhoid cream too? You don't want to feel raw and chapped after.
I don't know y'all, feeling like you're peeing out of your bottom doesn't sound enticing at all, but I know a lot of y'all love your hot, hot sauce. You can give all of your spicy lovin' friends a bottle. The Bunsters Shit The Bed combo packs are great gift ideas for pepper fiends.

Do you Remember The Carol Burnett Show?
Do you remember "The Carol Burnett Show?" The hilarious one-hour variety show/sitcom was a favorite during its day and age but is still considered a timeless classic tv show. Carol Burnett, along with other comedic cast members and guest stars, performed some of the funniest skits and parodies of the 70s, still to be remembered throughout the decades to come.
"The Carol Burnett Show" ran for 11 seasons, starring Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman(seasons 1-10), Lyle Waggoner(seasons 1-7), Tim Conway(seasons 9-11, guest star for seasons 1-8), and Dick Van Dyke(beginning of season 11). The tv show not only established and defined Burnett as a popular television superstar favorite but also won the Emmy Award for “Best Variety Series” three times.
Not only did their funniest sketches come from parodying well-known movies and television shows, but they also came from their own original recurring series of comedy sketches. Some of their more popular parodies included "Went with the Wind!," which took after "Gone with the Wind," and "As the Stomach Turns," which was inspired by the tv series soap opera "As the World Turns." "Mrs. Wiggins and The Family" were both original recurring series of comedy skits on the show, ultimately leading to their movie "Eunice," and a spin-off tv show starring co-star Vicki Lawrence called "Mama’s Family."
The tv series also hosted many famous guest stars including Bernadette Peters, Sonny & Cher, Steve Lawrence, Betty White, Lucille Ball, and Bing Crosby. "The Carol Burnett Show" was so popular that CBS, ABC, and NBC all ran either the series or more post-show series, making some of the characters from the show timeless. Many will remember their show favorites such as Mr. Tudball from the "Mrs. Wiggins" series, Eunice from "The Family," and even the unnamed charwoman, who was considered to be Burnett’s signature character.

Step Back Into Your Youth With These Paper Dolls
Before you were gifted the Barbie Dreamhouse you still hold onto today; you probably played with vintage paper dolls. Every little girl in the 60s-70s had a paper doll book. When you weren't playing dress-up, you cut out fashion dolls. Picking out outfits with your playmate was the ultimate after school fun. (When you weren't riding bikes of course).
Paper Dolls originate from London. According to unt.edu, S. & J. Fuller began producing the first paper doll books in 1810. These paper doll books were actually more than toys. They were storybooks; each book often told a story about the character. Little Fanny is a prominent paper doll that S. & J. Fuller is known for producing. Soon after the first printed paper doll book gained popularity, S. & J. Fuller created a Cinderella paper doll book in 1814.
As I mentioned, paper doll books told a story. It only made sense to turn notable fairy tales into paper books. Little girls loved to act out the stories as they played with their paper dolls. These were basically comic books for young girls in the 1800s.
Fast forward to the 1900s, and there are new products on the market. In the 1930s, a Shirley Temple paper doll set became available. As you can imagine, every Shirley Temple fan wanted this paper doll book. From Our Little Girl to Curly Top, Shirley Temple was everywhere.
Next, Merrill Publishing Company, Saalfield Publishing Company, Whitman Publishing Companies, and Queen Holden rose to prominence in the paper doll world.
Merrill Publishing Company has a Gone With the Wind book available on Amazon. You'll find Toodles, The Doll That Walks books from Saalfield Publishing Company, Blondie paper dolls from Whitman, and Sally & Susie paper doll books from Queen Holden on Amazon and eBay. Many of the antique paper doll listings are uncut.
Although Barbie dolls were popular in the 90s, Barbie paper dolls still made their way onto store shelves. You can find these retro paper doll books online as well. These collectibles can range anywhere from $10 to $200. It depends on the seller, but I can see why eBay sellers want to make some money. These are classics!

Why Julie Andrews Thanked Jack Warner for Not Casting Her In ‘My Fair Lady’
Julie Andrews is a beacon of kindness, gentility, and class. Every film she stars in truly feels like she is gracing us with her presence and skill. With the same grace, she took low points in life and turned them into winning lessons. One of those moments was when she was denied the starring role in the "My Fair Lady" film. After making her debut on Broadway at the age of 18, she auditioned for the musical adaptation of “Pygmalion” called “My Fair Lady”. At just nineteen years old she landed the role of Eliza Doolittle and worked on the show for over three years. When Jack Warner attained the rights to make My Fair Lady into a film, it was a shock when he picked someone else to play her part. The role went to Audrey Hepburn. Jack Warner later told her that, “I so wanted you to do it, Julie, but they wanted a name.” As it goes in Hollywood.
Andrews accepted another play on Broadway, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's original Broadway production of "Camelot," and let Audrey Hepburn play her role on the big screen. She’d been told from her early teen years that she wasn’t attractive enough for the big screen. So, she was surprised when Walt Disney came backstage at "Camelot" and asked if she wanted a part in his adaptation of “Mary Poppins”, originally by P.L. Travers. She turned down the role since she was three months pregnant. Disney told her they would wait for her to play the role and hired her husband, Tony Walton, a set and costume designer.
In 1964, the film version of Mary Poppins was released. It was both the first time Julie Andrews acted in a film and was the most successful movie of the year. She was awarded a Golden Globe for the year’s Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. In her acceptance speech, she ended it with a final offer of thanks to Mr. Jack Warner because he “made this all possible.” Later Andrews was nominated for best actress for "Mary Poppins," but Audrey, in "My Fair Lady" was not.

Remembering Hollywood Legend Garry Marshall
on May 12, 2020, ABC paid tribute to our favorite Hollywood legend, Garry Marshall, with his very own TV Special, "The Happy Days of Garry Marshall." The special brought together several stars of some of Marshall’s most iconic TV shows and movies, sharing their favorite memories of the Hollywood actor. These icons include "Pretty Woman’s" Richard Gere, Julia Roberts, and Hector Elizondo; Ron Howard, John Stamos, Marion Ross, Henry Winkler, Anson Williams from "Happy Days;" David Lander, Cindy Williams, and Michael McKean from "Beaches," Anne Hathaway, Julie Andrews, and Chris Pine from "The Princess Diaries."
The special featured icon’s most famous stars and the celebration captures the “hilarious, positive, upbeat, and romantic nature of Garry Marshall. It’s exactly the show we need right now.” Which seems fitting enough, since Marshall once famously said, “I never want to change the world. I want to entertain the world.” And we all know that for more than six decades, his work in films and television made us belly laugh so hard to the point where we spilled out our milk, and he managed to touch our heart by always leaving us feeling good about the world.
Some of Marshall's most notorious works include "The Lucy Show," "The Dick Van Dyke Show," "The Danny Thomas Show," "Runaway Bride," "Valentine's Day," "New Year's Eve," and "Mother's Day." In 1996, he was awarded the Woman in Film Lucy Award in recognition of excellence and innovation in creative works that enhanced the perception of women through television. He was later inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1997.

Why ‘Schoolhouse Rock’ Was More Than Just a Children’s Show
As if Disney+ didn’t already have everyone’s favorites, “Schoolhouse Rock” will now officially make its big debut on the popular family-friendly streaming service on June 19. Have you ever realized how much information you’ve actually retained just by remembering songs like “I’m Just a Bill,” “Three is a Magic Number,” and “Conjunction Junction?”
But how did “Schoolhouse Rock” start? This interstitial programming series had its viewers learning their multiplication tables within three to five minutes between the typical Saturday morning cartoon shows. Back in the early 1970s, David McCall, co-owner of New York ad agency McCaffrey & McCall, realized something as he was taking his family to a dude ranch in Wyoming. His son was having a difficult time with his multiplication tables but knew every word to the Rolling Stones’ songs. That sparked the idea to combine the sounds that defined the 70s with school concepts of all kinds.
When McCall returned to his office, he hit up George Newall, a co-creative director at the agency, to see if they could get one of their jingle writers to whip up something. It didn’t really hit the mark, so Newall reached out to Bob Dorough.
What came next from Bob Dorough blew the entire ad agency away. Dorough had taken a few weeks to study his daughter’s textbooks and had come up with “Three is a Magic Number,” associating symbolism of threes with the math of threes. The bop was incredibly simple, catchy, but informative.
Together, David McCall, George Newall, Bob Dorough, and Tom Yohe collaborated with Radford Stone, the agency’s senior V.P. account supervisor for ABC, to pitch the idea to Michael Eisner, the vice president for children’s programming at ABC. Eisner brought in animator Chuck Jones, creator of iconic cartoon characters Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, and Pepe le Pew, and history was made.
On Saturday morning, January 6, 1973, “Schoolhouse Rock!” debuted on ABC. The first four songs that aired were “Three Is a Magic Number,” “The Four-Legged Zoo,” “Elementary, My Dear,” “My Hero, Zero,” all written and performed by Dorough. Bob Dorough then became Schoolhouse Rock’s show director, writing all the songs on the “Multiplication Rock” season, earning him a Grammy nomination in 1974.

Neil Diamond & Barbra Streisand’s Classic “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers”
The “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” duet performed by Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond was originally a 45-second long song clip intended for a television show. That never materialized and instead, the two made their now-classic duet. the song hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1978.
The song is about two lovers who have been together for enough time to feel like they have slipped into a routine. They’re growing apart while going through the motions. The song was initially written by Neil Diamond with Alan and Marilyn Bergman for TV show All That Glitters. The premise of the show changed, so “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” was no longer needed as the theme song. So, Diamond expanded the song from 45 seconds to 3:17, adding additional verse and instrumental sections.
The American popular song was released on Neil Diamond’s “I’m Glad You’re Here with Me Tonight” sans Barbra Streisand. The two didn’t formally record a duet performance until after radio stations started splicing together their verses. The power of demand made the song a reality!
Streisand had originally covered the song on her album "Songbird." The duo performed the duet version at the Grammy Awards show in 1980, with their performance being released on the 1994 album "Grammy's Greatest Moments Volume 1." Both Streisand and Diamon had originally planned to star in a motion picture based on the song itself, but the plans were canceled after Diamon started in a remake of the 1980 hit "The Jazz Singer."

The King of Rock N’ Roll Found Inspiration From This Book of the Bible
In Washington, D.C., there is the Museum of the Bible, a huge building that is considered to be one of the “most technologically advanced and engaging museums in the world.” This place started back in 2017, showcasing rare artifacts and creating experiences so that visitors can learn more about the Bible’s history.
Curator Amy Van Dyke has been able to reminisce and share some of her experiences handling some of the rare items in this Bible museum. She shared a story with FoxNews about the first time she held the Bible of the King of Rock N’ Roll, Elvis Presley himself.
The Museum of the Bible has two of Elvis Presley’s Bibles. One was the King’s personal Bible and the other was a Bible given to him by a fan (Pat Hyder from Cowpens, South Carolina). Amy explained that she could tell it was “something special to him,” describing how the inside was filled with handwritten notes, front to back. Because of his performance history, it makes sense why the King of Rock N’ Roll would be so dedicated to his Bibles.
Elvis Presley became known when he performed in the Assembly of God Church in Tupelo, Mississippi. He won Grammy Awards for his gospel music, winning best-sacred performance in 1967 and best inspirational performance in 1972 and 1974. Amy continued to explain that Elvis’s favorite book of the Bible was probably the book of Psalms. His handwritten notes scribbled in the margins indicate that this American legend probably took a stronger liking to this very poetic part of the Bible.
“His favorite book, from what it looks like, was the book of Psalms, because, in the book of Psalms, there’s a lot of notations and writings in there, which makes sense because it’s a book of songs. So for a musician, it made a lot of sense,” Amy told FoxNews, “And in the back of that Bible, there’s also some writing and some stanzas that he’s written in there and poems and other things that really spoke to him.”
Safe to say the King of Rock N’ Roll took to the Bible and became a true American legend.

Hunt A Killer: The Immersive Murder Mystery Game for True Crime Lovers
Does anyone else know more facts about Ted Bundy than their own sibling? Yes? Same here. I can't recall my best friend's birthday, but I can tell you the exact date of the arrest of Richard Ramirez and more. Being a fan of true crime is a bit morbid, but it's fun to dig into murder mysteries, which is why I'm excited to give Hunt a Killer a try.
If you keep your TV on the Investigation Discovery channel all day or listen to true crime podcasts, then you're going to love Hunt a Killer. This isn't your typical murder mystery game (like Clue). It's a subscription box service that allows you to solve a murder storyline. This game unfolds over a season of six episodes. You'll eliminate one suspect each month. After six months, you'll be able to catch the killer.
What's Included?
Documents
Letters
Ciphers
Clues
Access to Charlie's yearbook
Access to a detective's desktop, surveillance images, and audio files
Hunt a Killer writers are here to give you unique crime stories to solve each season. Once you get your first box, you'll need to set aside time (possibly each day or week) to figure out who the mysterious serial killer is. It's time to dig into your inner Agent Hotch and Penelope Garcia. Let's catch this unsub.
Let me guess, you're a bit cocky and think you could've caught some of the most notorious serial killers of all time, in under weeks, huh? We'll see about that. I'm so excited to try this! The mystery box customer reviews are fantastic. Also, here's a huge perk. For each box sold, Hunt a Killer donates to the Cold Case Foundation.
Joshie says, "We have had a blast with this!! Combining the fun of a good mystery novel, plus the actually having to figure out for yourself what happened. There's no waiting to see what the protagonist knows because we are the protagonist. And to top it off, the materials in each box are high quality and make the adventure feel real. And just like any good mystery, it isn't always easy to whittle down the suspects."
See? It's not easy. You wouldn't want this to be too easy, though. I love a challenge, and this will really put my crime scene knowledge to the test. I binge crime TV shows on Netflix all the time, and I can't help but feel like I have a knack for true crime. Maybe it's just women's intuition, who knows? Don't worry if you get stuck. You can always ask for help through the online community. (Um, this sounds like the Netflix documentary, "Don't F**k With Cats.")
The official groups are spoiler-free, so you'll be able to stay on track without having someone ruin the game for you. I'm happy this game exists. Now my true crime knowledge doesn't feel like it's going to waste. Hunt a Killer Co-Founders Ryan Hogan and Derrick Smith first started Hunt a Killer as an immersive camp a few years ago. Thankfully, they decided people at home needed the experience as well.
It's time to order your first box and put your skills to the test. Unfortunately, we're stuck at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although, this is a great chance to have a unique family game night or date night.
As someone who's in a private Facebook group to discuss paranormal sightings and historical crimes, I have to say, this is right up my alley. If we have similar interests, you're probably thinking the same thing.
Good luck on your first case. Let's see if you have what it takes to solve crimes. For more information, visit huntakiller.com.

This is the Fart Spray That Led a Grandma to the Most Vulgar Response
This liquid fart spray must really smell bad because Grandma not only assumes that she farted, but she told her granddaughter that she smells like cat shit. This is the funniest thing ever.
This prank spray bottle is available on Amazon for under $10. If you're down for funny pranks, you have to give Liquid Ass a try. It's a best seller under Gag and Practical Joke Toys, so it must be as bad as Lynn's Grandma thinks.
Customer reviews are everything. I mean, this customer tells you everything you need to know. Dogs love poop, if they can't handle the smell of the prank stink mist, you know this stuff smells awful. People are saying it smells like sewage, dead animal, skunk, and stinky butt.
"This is what you call thick funk."-Lynn's grandma.
This is a wonderful gag gift. I can't wait to play a fart prank on the entire office. We all know that taco Friday can mess with your belly. If you're the prankster of the family, spray the Liquid Ass fart spray in the living room. Just completely out of nowhere, and watch your family go crazy.
Since coronavirus has everyone indoors, you might as well use liquid ass spray to make things a bit more fun. Grab a bottle from Walmart.
To take the fart spray prank to the next level, place some fake poop in the house somewhere.

Two months from now the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season will officially begin, meteorologists from AccuWeather have already started examining the factors that can influence tropical activity for this year. Forecasters are anticipating a busy year for the Atlantic Basin in 2020, which is on the heels of an active 2019 season.
AccuWeather top hurricane expert and meteorologist, Dan Kottlowski, just released the 2020 Atlanta and hurricane forecast. Along with this team, they are calling for 14 to 18 tropical storms during the upcoming season, which will run from June 1st through November 30th, 2020. Of those storms, they are expecting 7 to 9 to become hurricanes, and 2 to 4 are predicted to strengthen into major hurricanes. According to Kottlowski, “It’s going to be an above-normal season. In a normal year, we have around 12 storms, six hurricanes, and roughly three major hurricanes.”
Last year marked the four consecutive years of above-average activity in the basin, tying in 1969 for the fourth most active hurricane active season on record. Featuring, Hurricane Dorian, Lorenzo, and Humberto as well as Tropical storm Imelda, the 2019 season resulted in 18 storms and cost more than $11 billion in heavy damages. Most significantly, the damage affected North Carolina leaving severe damage to the coastal and central regions.
Forecasters have also drawn comparisons to previous years with comparable weather conditions, also known as analog years as part of the method to formulate this season’s predictions. For 2020, AccuWeather meteorologists are looking closely at the years 1980 and 2005.
Back in 1980, Hurricane Allen developed a category 5 storm, which wreaked havoc on Haiti before moving over to lower Texas which killed more than 200 people. The expert stated 2005 was a “hyperactive year,” which resulted in 28 storms. There were so many storms in 2005 that the predetermined list of names for the season was heavily surpassed and the last few storms took on Greek letters as names Which were set by the World Meteorologist Organization.

Remember That Time Stevie Nicks Married Her Best Friend’s Husband?
Stevie Nicks, the goddess of Fleetwood Mac, is a true gem with amazing vocals, hair, and a sense of humor. Which is why we love her. But, as with anyone we love, there are always those moments when we are tempted to say “oh, turns out I didn’t know them that well.” Well, unfortunately, we’re going there. This is about that time Stephanie Lynn Nicks married Kim Anderson, her best friend’s husband.
Although the American singer had decided to never marry or have children, the singer-songwriter did just that. Believe it or not, Nicks was married for only 3 months and it was to her best friend, Robin Anderson’s husband. Robin Snyder Anderson and Nicks for best friends for 20 years. Unfortunately, Anderson was diagnosed with leukemia in 1981, and while in remission she found out she and her husband, Kim, were expecting a child.
Two years later Anderson tragically lost her battle to cancer. The baby, Matthew, had been born shortly before Robin passed away. Distraught and grieving, the “In Your Dreams” Grammy Award winner wanted to help raise her best friend’s child. She believed this would keep Anderson’s memory alive.
So, the queen of rock convinced an also grieving Kim Anderson to get married so she could help raise the baby as her stepson. Three months in, after reportedly feeling her friend Robin’s presence in baby Matthew’s nursery disappear, a little clarity hit her. She quickly opened up about the situation on Oprah’s Master Class a few years back calling her decision “beyond insane.” Because well…she married her best friend’s widower. Still, while this triangle is very bizarre and losing your best friend is tough, she did it out of a good heart. Right? I mean, it’s pretty sweet in its own way. That’s what I want to believe, anyway.

Remembering Singer Bill Withers
Songwriter, Bill Withers, who was known for the timeless classics “Lean on Me”, “Lovely Day”, and “Ain’t No Sunshine,” died at the age of 81 on March 30, 2020, due to heart complications. His music has been used countless times to help boost morale during exact times like these, so it’s important to remember the legacy he left. Withers was a three-time Grammy Award winner who stopped making music around the mid-80s.
His songs have become (still to this day) popular soundtracks to play during the more important moments in life. His strong voice over bluesy melodies, soulful funk, and groovy beats evoke homely and warm emotions in all his listeners. “Lean on Me” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” hit the Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and “Lean on Me” was played at the inaugurations of former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Born in Slab Fork, West Virginia, Withers lived an incredibly eventful life for someone who became a legendary singer-songwriter. He joined the navy at 17 years old and worked as an aircraft mechanic for 9 years. After getting discharged, he moved to Los Angeles and was working at an aircraft parts factory when he bought a guitar and started recording demos towards getting a recording contract. By 1971, under the guidance of Booker T. Jones, Withers put out “Just as I Am”, his first album signed under Sussex Records. “Ain’t No Sunshine” was on this album, hitting no. 3 on Billboard charts and was in the top 40 for 16 weeks. A year later, he came out with the classic “Lean on Me” on his second album “Still Bill.”
Later came “Lovely Day”, co-written by Skip Scarborough, featuring Withers holding out the note on the word “day” for 19 seconds. His “Live at Carnegie Hall” album also hit the Rolling Stone’s 50 Greatest Live Albums of All Time. In 2015, Stevie Wonder inducted him into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. By that time, he had received a Grammy award for both ‘Ain’t No Sunshine” in 1971 and “Just the Two of Us” in 1981. His music was sampled in “No Diggity” by BlackStreet, “Bridging the Gap” by the Black Eyed Peas, and “Sunshine” by Twista. Rest in Peace Bill Withers. May your legacy continue to carry us through the most difficult times.

The History of Pacman
Have you ever wondered why everyone knows what Pac-man is? Why does almost everyone in the world, regardless of age, know of this arcade game? Is it because its retro look and simple interface are easy to remember? How did this Japanese video game become a legendary international icon defining the cultural era of the 80s? Let’s dive into the history of Pac-man.
The original game started in 1979, when a Japanese arcade game designer employed by Namco, Toru Iwatani, found a solution to balancing the heavy number of violent video games. At the time, the more popular video games were Asteroids, Space Invaders, Tail Gunner, and Galaxian- all with more violent themes. And Toru Iwatani found the solution to leveling out the game concepts… while eating.
It hit him when he was looking down at his pizza pie. Two pieces were missing from the whole, resembling a mouth almost, as you can see where the physicality of the arcade machine began. This turned into Pakkuman, stemming from the Japanese term “paku-paku taberu” which is basically onomatopoeia describing the “puck-puck” sound a mouth makes when chomping widely and closing quickly after. Which, if you’ve actually played the game, you would realize is the sound the original Pac-man makes when he eats his dots. Hence his original name “Puck-man” was born.
However, you can imagine the issues this name would run into, especially when the demographic gamers at the time were adolescent boys. Thus, “Pac-man” became exceedingly popular and became the perfect game to play with friends. And it broke the demographic barrier. By the mid-1990s, this video game was made available in the United States for general computers, game consoles, (who remembers Nintendos?!), and even handheld devices. This little Pac-man character and the other game characters were so well-known that businesses were even capitalizing off of merch. Everyone had Pac-man fever, and it wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Let's not forget about the famous Ms. Pac-man and other spin-offs and TV shows that would later make her way into the world! Let Pac-mania live forever!

The True Meaning Of Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Time After Time’ Song
Cyndi Lauper’s hit "Time After Time" was the second single for her debut album, "She’s So Unusual." Lauper was introduced to Rob Hyman of "The Hooters" after her band "Blue Angel" had broken up. When she was in need of musicians to record her album, a Columbia Records producer, Rick Chertoff linked her with Hyman and they hit it off.
Rick Chertoff was infamous for telling artists that their records could use “one more song.” She’s So Unusual included big hits such as All Through The Night, She Bop and of course, Girls Just Want To Have Fun. Although these songs are all stellar tracks that have made Lauper the legend she is today, Chertoff felt the album was incomplete and asked them to write one more.
In a late writing session at New York recording studio, Record Plant, Lauper spotted a TV Guide advertising a science fiction film, “Time After Time” and it sparked an idea for the song title. Using a simplistic set of piano chords they set out to write a pop song. However, as they progressed the realized it was more of a bittersweet tune; the song meaning something a little different for all of them.
To Rob Hyman, it represented a breakup. For Lauper, it was a response to a lover who was “lost,” which alludes to him needing help. She expresses her sympathy for an ex-lover, to the degree of not wanting to move forward without him by her side.
The recording you hear of “Time After Time” is raw, meaning the songwriters used the demo and the first version of the song, which is pretty rare. Rob Hyman does backing vocals for Lauper. The song eventually became Lauper’s number 1 hit in the United States and earned her a Grammy nomination in 1985.

The Sweet Way Mr. Rogers Proposed to His Wife
Fred Rogers, known as Mr. Rogers has captivated the hearts of many. From his children’s TV show to his everyday life, he was said to be the same warm figure you saw onscreen. So, of course, his wife Joanne Rogers has the sweetest story about how the late PBS legend proposed to her.
Fred Rogers and Sara Joanne Byrd met at Florida’s Rollins College in 1948 when Rogers transferred from Dartmouth College into the same music composition course. They parted ways after graduation, keeping in touch via mail while Rogers went to New York City to work for NBC and she pursued her master’s degree at Florida State University.
Two years into a more casual, long-distance relationship, Fred’s mother found out that Joanne was potentially seeing someone else. This was her last year at Florida State. He sent a letter proposing marriage. Did it seem sudden? Sara Joanne Rogers has said, “Yes, it surprised me, in some ways. I was surprised at the timing…But I don’t think I was very surprised otherwise…I think in some ways, we were both not surprised.” They both felt it was right. The second she got the letter, she ran to a payphone and accepted his proposal.
The two married in 1952 and celebrated their 50 years of marriage at the White House. That same day Fred Rogers was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He almost didn’t accept the award, telling the White House correspondent, “Oh, I’m so sorry, I won’t be able to make it. That’s our 50th wedding anniversary.” Thankfully his family, Mrs. Rogers and their two sons, John and James were invited as well.
Rogers later started working in children’s television, first on the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. show “Miste Rogers” and later in Pittsburgh in Mister Roger’s Neighborhood, one of the most beloved children’s shows ever. It ran for 31 seasons with almost a thousand episodes, teaching children how to deal with real-life issues through a lens of kindness and creativity.
Fred Rogers passed of stomach cancer in 2003 at the age of 74. Since then many accolades have continued to follow him. Pittsburgh declared World Kindness Day as “Cardigan Day” in November. The film “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” starring Tom Hank was released at the end of last year.

Tom Hanks Reveals He Almost Died While Filming ‘Cast Away’
Tom Hanks had some of Hollywood’s most popular movies in the late ’90s and early 2000s. There is even a real-life restaurant chain named after his iconic "Forrest Gump" character’s shrimping business. Through the decades we’ve gotten to see him star as many different roles both whi
Of all of the Tom Hanks movies, "Cast Away" was one of his most dramatic performances and a crowd favorites. Director Robert Zemeckis’ Golden Globe-winning film grossed over $429 million at the box office and is rated 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The story centers on a FedEx employee, Chuck Noland, who survives a plane crash and lands on a deserted island in the South Pacific ocean. Using the remains of the plane crash’s cargo he fights to survive for as long as he can (4 years) alone, along with his a volleyball from Wilson Sporting Goods that he personifies with the name “Wilson.” Tom Hanks stars with Helen Hunt as his girlfriend, Kelly Frears, and Nick Searcy is a confidant in this survival drama.
Cast Away was filmed on one of the Mamanuca Island in Fiji known as Monuriki Island. While Fiji is incredibly beautiful, the thought of surviving on a deserted island is terrifying. It took countless crew members to make the movie come to life. Hanks, however, was still met with difficulties during filming. For starters, he had to gain and then lose 50 pounds.
During filming, thanks to a gnarly, unexpected leg injury, the actor almost died. It started off as a cut on his leg. It later turned into a Staph infection. Onsite medical workers quickly identified the problem and sent Hanks to receive immediate care. Through an interview with BBC, he stated:
"'Cast Away' put me in the hospital. I was there for three days with something that, believe it or not, almost killed me,” he revealed at the time…”I went to the doctor who took one look and said, ‘I have to put you in the hospital because we have to get this infection out of you before it poisons your blood and you die.' “
If it weren’t for those doctors, we would have missed out on some of the most well-known films of our time. Then again, for a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination, what wouldn’t you do?

PETA Claims Cow Milk Is A Symbol Of White Supremacists
PETA is at it again, and better than ever with a new claim saying cow’s milk is “a symbol of white supremacy.” The organization, known for their full name, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals released an article where they stated milk is a symbol used by white supremacists, which is one more reason to ditch dairy completely.
The article reads, “Aside from ‘lactose-tolerant’ white supremacists, cow’s milk really is the perfect drink of choice for all (even unwitting) supremacists since the dairy industry inflicts extreme violence on other living beings.”
The organization believes that cows relate to human culture in three categories: control over their bodies, control over your mind and “might doesn’t make right.” The reason as to why they believe this? Well, according to the activists, cows don’t really have a choice about what is being done to them or their bodies. Their horns are gouged or burned out of their heads, part of their tails can be cut off, and holes are punched through their ears before being “used” for milking purposes.
Still confused? Well, basically, PETA is stating that humans are the only animals who drink milk from other species, and who drink milk beyond infancy. The dairy industry spends millions of dollars funding campaign that urge people to avoid drinking milk, that can cause several health hazards. The article quotes, “Before you pour a glass of the “white stuff,” please remember that it isn’t the “right stuff”.”
PETA believes the cows are suffering inside crumpled, filthy enclosures, forced to produce nearly 10 times as milk as they would naturally. The article even references scenes in “Inglorious Basterds” where one can see Christoph Waltz’s character drinking a glass of milk and “Get Out”, where a character sips the milk, convinced in fact, dairy was a white supremacy symbol indeed.
They say these “white supremacists” are chugging milk to draw attention to a genetic trait that is known to be more common in white people than others-the ability to digest lactose as adults. The animal rights group tweeting its theory, saying it was “One more reason to #Ditchdairy.”
